"Urban Loft Cologne’s no-nonsense name pretty well sums it up — these are an idealized version of the 20th-century artists’ loft, but bedroom-sized, and with views not of SoHo’s streets but of the Gothic spires of the Köln Cathedral. Their whitewashed brick walls provide the post-industrial grit, and it’s softened by parquet floors, pastel colors, and vibrant artworks (as well as handsome subway-tiled bathrooms).
