"Located in the basement of 62 Rivington Street on the Lower East Side, this newly public-facing studio-shop is outfitted with a baby pink velvet couch, plenty of mirrors, and moodboard imagery taped to the walls, while a waving Maneki-neko near the door and massive porcelain vases remain from when the space was used as her father’s Congee Village restaurant storage. Formerly open only during industry market appointments, it’s now the only place that houses the entire Sandy Liang collection, as well as exclusive pieces you won’t be able to find anywhere else. The experience reflects how much control she has over location and presentation and the intimacy of interacting with shoppers one-on-one, and her approach to product—“There’s a lot of stuff out there in the world… that’s why I’m more into doing a limited run of one style and leaving it at that.”" - Kristen Bateman
