"Tucked behind a cast-iron gate in the heart of Colonia Juárez, I quickly realized that calling this a “house” is a misnomer: the creative members club and hotel sprawls across 25,000 square feet, anchored by an opulent Baroque residence that once belonged to 19th-century Spanish general and statesman Juan Prim. Beyond the entrance is a courtyard of luxurious leisure filled with very, very stylish people, a 62-foot pool edged with yellow-and-white striped chaises and gray-and-white striped cabanas, and outdoor patios where beet-and-coconut cocktails pair with caviar and tortilla chips or grilled Baja lobster. On Sundays, tostadas give way to seafood paella served as part of an extravagant buffet brunch, from a menu developed by three-Michelin-starred and James Beard Award–winning chef Christopher Kostow to highlight local produce and regional flavors." - Elise Taylor
