"A 40-room hotel and members club in Accord, New York, this pastoral 225-acre retreat nods to landscape painter George Inness and is conceived as a refuge, a retreat of the transcendentalist variety, with sprawling views of farmland and the Catskill Mountains. The grounds by Miranda Brooks pick their moments of focused design and let everything in between go wild, so one minute you’re walking through an apple orchard and a few minutes later you find yourself in a meadow. Accommodations include 28 cabins and a 12-room Dutch Colonial farmhouse, and amenities span a restaurant, two swimming pools, a 9-hole golf course, and a three-acre organic garden, with a wellness center with spa and gym to open later.
