Charcoal-grilled kebabs, classic meze, and hearty stews served generously

"19 Numara Bos Cirrik 2 is further up from the bustle of Dalston. This quiet ocakbaşı spot may not have the same energy as those in the thick of it, but its kebabs are superbly grilled. Like any traditional Turkish restaurant worth its salt, some salad, fresh warm flatbread, and grilled onion swimming in pomegranate molasses will arrive wordlessly. This alone is a fine meal but a plate of lamb ribs or tender chicken kebab in this calming space makes it perfect." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing
"Every part of London is full of favourites. Favourite pubs, newsagents, chicken shops, and bus stops. The reasons vary—be it Taytos behind the bar, or a bossman with boss chat—but the point is you’ve got your go-tos for a reason, and Numara Bos Cirrik II is one of our favourite Turkish spots around Stoke Newington. It’s a straightforward, old-school ocakbasi restaurant that just makes downright good food. We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve come here for a beyti wrap and stayed for a bowl of lentil soup. The menu is standard, classic fare and so is the inside. As good for groups as it is for solo grilled meats, it’s a firm favourite and we don’t think that will ever change." - jake missing
"On the Green Lanes corridor, 19 Numara Bos Cirrik II is named among the ocakbaşi grills delivering classic Turkish charcoal-grilled meats and bread anointed with grill fat." - Adam Coghlan
"As reliable for a group meal of ocakbasi staples, bread anointed with the drippings from the grill and tart onions as it is for a hastily grabbed wrap or lahmacun, this neighbourhood stalwart is the go-to for the section of the A10 between Church Street and Amhurst Road." - James Hansen
