The 23 Best Turkish Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"19 Numara Bos Cirrik 2 is further up from the bustle of Dalston. This quiet ocakbaşı spot may not have the same energy as those in the thick of it, but its kebabs are superbly grilled. Like any traditional Turkish restaurant worth its salt, some salad, fresh warm flatbread, and grilled onion swimming in pomegranate molasses will arrive wordlessly. This alone is a fine meal but a plate of lamb ribs or tender chicken kebab in this calming space makes it perfect." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing

The Best Restaurants In Stoke Newington - London - The Infatuation

"Every part of London is full of favourites. Favourite pubs, newsagents, chicken shops, and bus stops. The reasons vary—be it Taytos behind the bar, or a bossman with boss chat—but the point is you’ve got your go-tos for a reason, and Numara Bos Cirrik II is one of our favourite Turkish spots around Stoke Newington. It’s a straightforward, old-school ocakbasi restaurant that just makes downright good food. We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve come here for a beyti wrap and stayed for a bowl of lentil soup. The menu is standard, classic fare and so is the inside. As good for groups as it is for solo grilled meats, it’s a firm favourite and we don’t think that will ever change." - Jake Oliver

The Best Restaurants in Stoke Newington: Where to Eat in N16 | Eater London

"As reliable for a group meal of ocakbasi staples, bread anointed with the drippings from the grill and tart onions as it is for a hastily grabbed wrap or lahmacun, this neighbourhood stalwart is the go-to for the section of the A10 between Church Street and Amhurst Road." - James Hansen

Google
Crazy good lamb chops. And everything else is amazing too. Super kind staff. Definitely recommend it!

We went on a Sunday evening. Initially empty but soon other customers joined us. I was sceptical when the starter arrived which was stuffed aubergine. It looked soggy and appeared to be microwave cooked. It tasted very average. The free bread provided was however excellent and freshly baked. The salads then arrived and again they were of questionable quality and needed seasoning. The main however was a sharing grill for two and it wasn’t just enormous, it was also superbly cooked meat. We loved it. Service was quick and warm. We enjoyed the meal and might potentially return someday but would probably just choose a dip for starter instead. The price was very good at about £35 a head with tip. Women’s toilet had no light which was a bit frustrating but gents was fine. We took a large box of leftover grilled meat home with us and will enjoy for lunch.

I just ordered a chicken dish but received 4 great complimentary dishes. There was some fresh bread, caramelized onions, spiced sliced onions and a huge salad. The chicken was nicely grilled and served in a yogurt sauce with aubergine. It was a great combination!

Google
Ordered the N2 mixed grill. A great selection and flavoursome all around except for the rice, which was served plain and could benefit from butter/stock/seasoning. Really the lamb ribs and chops. Service was good and the staff there are friendly. Prices were very reasonable, coming to roughly 20 per head.

Google
Ordered food here and have to say the service has declined to a low standard. Rice was rock hard. Never enough bread. And always cutting back on portion sizes. For the prices they are charging, really expect better service and portion size. Can honestly say won’t be returning to this restaurant. Plenty other restaurants with a much higher standard toward paying customers. 😡😡

Google
Amazing selection of foods, fresh and very tasty, great service, very warm and welcoming people. Definitely will be coming back.

Google
A very enjoyable experience. This doesn't have the footfall that the other heavyweights in nearby Dalston can rey on so it's really appreciated that they do make the extra effort. The meal was a typical Turkish Shish dish but it was the accompanying sides that gets this place 5*. The salad could be meal in itself plus wonderful onion dishes in complimentary sauces...plus a side of hummus..ALL included within the price. If you are this end of Stoke Newington, why not treat yourself ?

Google
Incredible feed. 18£ for a feast! The onions & fritters were incredible. Amazing selection of flavours. Worth every penny!

Yelp
I have such fond memories associated with shish kebabs and this place brought all of those memories back in the best way possible. I had the chicken shish and it was massive, first of all, but also it paired so well with everything it came with. So happy I came here!

Yelp
I'm going there more than twice a month, you can't imagine before going how delicious is the food. Whatever you choose, they give you starters for free and if you are greedy like me you'll finish the starters and won't be able to eat what you ordered. You will always have large portions so you can ask for doggy bag because it's unbelivable to not eating up. It's more than cheap so you need to be prepared to see a busy restaurant but I never had to queue up. From Monday to Friday between 12 and 3 o'clock , the lunch menu is at £6.95. They also prepare take-away orders and believe me it's good to know when you are hungry but don't have the motivation or simply when you receive friends at the last minute.

Yelp
I am a regular Yelp lurker but rarely write a review, but the bread at this place!! I went there last night with a foodie ex-local friend that made the right recommendations. The mixed grill was perfect to share, cheap and full of flavour. The salads that come with it are excellent and fun, and again... the bread. It has a thin layer of meat juices and it simply tastes like heaven. Being a tzatziki fan, I skipped dipping the bread in it because it's so good on its own that it felt like betrayal. Skip the starters and go for the meat!

Yelp
The food here is still excellent but they seem to have read their own press recently and put the prices up accordingly. My ex used to have a rule of the about this place; 10 quid per head for a nice meal and a beer, 15 quid if you didn't have an early start the following morning (she never did) and 20 quid if you really wanted to tie one on. Unfortunately, that's now gone out of the window and I spent 20 quid per head with two children in tow. As I said, still excellent food but, hell, this is Stokey and you'll find equally good pide-only or ocakbasi places within 8 mins and at half the price. If Cirrik is what you're after though go to the original incarnation (a.k.a. The mothership) in Dalston

Yelp
As a resident of Stokie for nearly a decade, Numera 19 Bos Cirrik was more habit forming than any Class A. Featuring a traditional hammered copper grill and a family that's passionate about delivering some of the best kebabs and Turkish food in London, this Stoke Newington staple is the standard by which all of the other Turkish joints in the area are judged. I'm hard pressed to order anything but the cop shish; tender, deliciously grilled pieces of lamb. Every table is graced with grilled onion salad with pomegranate molasses, a spicy raw onion and sumac salad, a beautiful pile of greens, tomatoes and cucumbers and an unlimited supply of some of the best Turkish bread in North London. Don't fancy the cop shish? The only way to go is an order of grilled lamb chops -- so good you'll want to write home and curse your mother for never making you something so good. Want to go a little off piste? There's liver, pigeon, and other unusual cuts to keep the foodie in you happy. Lunch will set you back around 7 quid with a drink... dinner around 10. In fact, you could go there and with mains, drinks and tips end up spending around 15-20 quid per person. Bargain for the Big Smoke. Okay, so their starters aren't the greatest. But who cares? Go for the kebab and you'll never be disappointed.

Yelp
Part of a chain of three Turkish restaurants this is the best place to go for mouth-wateringly delicious Turkish food. If you don't have the biggest of appetites, skip the entrees, as hard as this is to do. I love the haloumi and borek, but if I order it there is no room at all for the massive servings you get for mains. All mains come with bowls of salad, bread and this amazing grilled onion dish that is impossible to make at home. I've been told the secret ingredient is pomegranate juice, but even armed with that knowledge it's just not the same as the one you get here. The meals are massive, my boyfriend and I sometimes share a mixed grill. The shish is always perfect. Beer and wine is cheap and good. The service is top notch. This is a great place to come for a family meal!

Yelp
This is a great restaurant. The ownership has changed in the last 18 months and it now is part of the 19 Numara Bos Cirrik group that has it's other branches in Stoke Newington and Hackney/Dalston. The manager and staff are very hospitable. Carefully prepared, fresh Turkish food served in generous portions. Unfortunately this area of Tottenham seems to have less people living locally that can afford, or are inclined, to eat at 19 Numara Bos Cirrik than the populous around the branches further south. Consequently the generously sized dining room is never packed out. Possibly the business survives on custom on match days from supporters going to watch football at the Spurs ground which is very close by. Fairly handy if you are shopping in the evening at IKEA Edmonton. If you've had it up to your eyeballs with Swedish meatballs, fire up the satnav and pop in to 19 Numara Bos Cirrik IV, plenty of parking on the street outside. I am a cheerleader for these guys because I would like to see their business continue to operate in this location.

Yelp
We shared the mixed-meze starter, and the lamb-aubergine-yogurt kebab. The mixed meze were not great. The stewed aubergine was the only good one. The yogurt based ones and tara were ok. The homous needed way more tahini, and then there was some nasty mayo-based ones like russian salad. And then a pair of free unrequested onion dishes, which is nice for people who like that kinda thing, but I hate under-cooked onions. The lamb/aubergine main (nazik?) was better, that helped me understand why the place gets good reviews! Overall, I think "A-OK" sums it up fairly.

Yelp
tl;dr: Ridiculously cheap and very good. £19.50 for a mixed (hot+cold) meze that's far more food than two hungry people can eat. The people are nice. the falafels are house-made, and they have efes and that lovely sour yougurty drink thing if you're feeling teetotal-style.

Yelp
Stoke Newington is saturated with welcoming Turkish restaurants, but of all the grill houses 19 Numara Bos Cirrik No 1 stands out. Impeccable grilled meats, long skewers featuring many different cuts of lamb, the skill of the grill. About £12pp ex-drinks.

Yelp
I love this place. It's my preferred Turkish restaurant on the high st, and there are quite a few of them. I love the open style grill where food is cooked in front of you. I like the meat dishes, the casseroles, the bread and the pizza. The service is excellent and it's overall a very clean and stylish venue. My one big problem, and the reason I don't go here very often, is that as I buy so many kebabs from city kebab just down the street, it's hard to convince myself, and much harder still to convince my wife, that when we want to go out for a fancy sit down meal, that Turkish is what we are looking for. And that's a shame, because this is a restaurant with high standards.

Yelp
Back here after 6 months. Really should go more often. Great place, great food and service. Love the mixed grill plates. Combined with a fresh salad and meal complete. Big food portions!

Yelp
excellent food especially the adana kebab, but more pricy than any other kebab restaurants in london.
