We decided to pop in on game day before heading to a concert at the amphitheatre. Needless to say, it was chaotic getting to the small parking lot in the back, but that's to be expected. Inside it was really chill and we were seated immediately.
We ordered an assortment of things- elote hush puppies, loaded fries, thin onion rings, BBQ chicken flatbread, and shrimp tacos. Whew! Our bellies were bigger than our eyes! I also snagged a pink unicorn which was the only thing I photographed. Thanks, hunger!
I was most excited about the hush puppies. They were really good, but I was comparing them to something similar and they didn't meet up to those expectations. In any event, they were delicious with the queso fresco, but the actual hush puppy could have used a little more seasoning in the batter.
The shrimp tacos were plentiful and hit the spot. Lots of shrimp and cabbage, but I definitely needed more of the delicious salsa verde!
The loaded fries had all the baked potato flavors packed on a French fry. Yum!
I didn't try the flatbread or onion rings, but both got rave reviews at the table.
The pink unicorn was the highlight for me. NA +sweet+tart. It was so good! It would likely be amusing with a splash of tequila or vodka too.
The service was great for the most part. Towards the end, after ordering a round of drinks, our server was MIA as were the drinks. Eventually, they made their way to the table.
The ambiance is also fun. They show women's sports, but on game day, they had the game on. Definitely a cool concept with a great staff and solid food.
