Google
Crazzzzy good!!! I had a ground chicken meatball. Wow!!! I’m not a meatatarian but loved this little sandwich. Get a couple of them they are small but FULL of flavor!! #allergygirl I had to leave off the sauces; I am allergic to the three choices but this little slider stands alone just fine!!

Katrina Romero

Google
I finally made it to 24th and Meatballs. The Guido stole my heart, but definitely trying same recipe with polenta, next time the spicy pork meatball with vodka sauce is what dreams are made of. The pizza is pretty good, Nonna's special was good, but not great. Super friendly service!!

Charlie Te

Google
Solid place to get some tasty meatballs in a hero sandwich, with pasta, or by itself. I had The Cosmo- spicy pork meatballs with corkscrew pasta and creamy cheese and parmesan sauce. The meatball with cheese sauce went well together. The meatball has a good spicy kick, not too spicy. You can take it to go or eat outside at one of the many tables.

Google
We followed the name and got the pizza and meatball sub! Both lived up to the hype, it’s a very unassuming place but they put all their effort in the actual food. Great little area as well where you can get a drink hang out next door.

Michelle sung

Google
We grabbed a sandwich from the next door (Tails & Trotter) and came here for a glass of beer and the spaghetti. You could chose variety of meatball. My favorite was spicy chicken. It's tiny cozy spot perfect for rainy weather to chill.

Susana Quan

Google
The best Meatball Sandwiches ever. Very tasty, good portions and good service. My husband and I shared a sandwich and were quite satisfied. This is half a sandwich with a huge meatball, excellent sauce covered with cheese. It was worth the drive from Beaverton.

Shane Stenquist

Google
Was craving a good meatball sub and this was beyond expectations! The perfect crunch and chew of the bread, the delicious tender meatballs, the sauce and the melty melty cheese! OMG GET IN MA BELLY!

Kasia

Google
Vegan sub is small and pretty awful:( completely flavourless meatballs that are falling apart and almost no cheese. No sauce either. It was super disappointing. I actually got an upset stomach after eating it and I’m feeling sick. I really wouldn’t recommend this place..

John H.

Yelp
This is tiny place at the end of a few other restaurants. During the warmer months, it can be a fun area to grab lunch and have a drink. Otherwise, you probably want to get it to go. They have pizza and meatball subs. The pizza is good, but not amazing. I would go elsewhere for slices. The subs, however, are pretty satisfying! I chose The Glisan Street Hero, a veggie meatball sub. It was a beast. It didn't take too long once ordered. The cheese was all melted and the pesto on the sub made it scrumptious! The veggie meatballs are good and decently seasoned, but fall apart easily. It is not easy to eat on the go, lol. Grab some extra napkins.

Yelp
Everything is a to-go out on the shared patio. Indifferent guy working the counter. Did not have their special available so ordered some meatball leftovers. Reheated and served on paper plate. Drink selection weak, so go next door to the market. Basic parmesan & red pepper sprinkle before you walk out. Basic name, basic pizza.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Stopped here real quick for a cheese slice. Ordering at the counter, the cheese slice was finished pretty quickly. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie with my cheese slice. After my slice was ready, I sat outside on a picnic table to down my snack. The pizza was good, and I would get it again. The cookie was good, but I've had better.

Sylvia C.

Yelp
Happy to stumble into a meatball place. Got The Boss - Italian meatball sando, which actually has a great spicy kick. It's a good little meatball sub, crispy bread, hot homemade meatballs, melted cheese & red sauce. I'm glad I tried it, my hungry tummy thanked me. But is it something I'll be craving and thinking about? No. I have another fav meatball sub that's just a step above for a better cost value, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. If I find myself back for lunch, I want to try their garlic knots and pizza/pasta, and would be happy to revise my rating if they change their mind.

Tom T.

Yelp
Super big slices of pizza. Whole pies, I believe, are 18". And meatballs. Many ways in which they are served. Nonna's special is............three meatballs with spaghetti with a very aggressive , assertive sauce that stays with you. Pizza with meatballs. And sandwiches with meatball. Balls everywhere. So as not to miss out on the obligatory joke , here , I bet Bon Scott is snickering in his grave.

Grace C.

Yelp
This place is A-Ok. Pizza was good, not great. I've had better in Portland. Their meatball sandwiches look good though, maybe I'll give that a shot next time. They are located in the same area as Tropicale, Friendship Kitchen, Rolling Fresh - definitely the spot for a Portland summer evening. A small storefront, 24th Pizza & Meatballs sells a variety of slices and I opted for their pigs and pineapple special that day. You pay at counter and they hand you a buzzer when it's ready. I thought the pizza was alright - a bit bland, not many toppings, and the crust too thin for my liking. Their meatballs seems to be where it's at! Perhaps try that before their pizza.

Jeff M.

Yelp
This was our go-to for absolutely the best meatball sandwiches. We went at least once a month. Wonderful. And, their Caesar salad dressing took some interesting liberties that I (a Caesar salad snob) shockingly adored! Secret was red wine vinegar and hot sauce! On my where there today we found they CLOSED PERMANENTLY! Beyond shocked. Can't find any news. Wassup?? I hope New Seasons Market still sells the meatballs. Gonna miss ya ole friends. :(. We'll just go to Montelupo more often.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Obsessed - so glad I missed my bus and got to roam! MEATBALL PIZZA SLICE: The crust / pizza dough is perfect. Pillowy soft with a good crunch. Meatballs were perfectly savory with the right amount of herbs. Cheese is excellent! Top this off with red chili pepper flakes and Mike's hot honey for the ultimate bite. STATEN ISLAND TRIO: I wasn't drawn to this until our server told us they ran out of margherita and asked if I wanted this instead. BEST. Would highly recommend! No comments, just get it. The flavors are Immaculate. TLDR: 12/10 in bed thinking about this pizza place right now. Miss it already.

Kylie C.

Yelp
The food wasn't horrible but not my favorite. I did however love the garlic knots. They had the perfect amount of butter and garlic and were nice and doughy. The pizza on the other hand was pretty mediocre. I expected it to be 1) warmer and 2) tastier. I do appreciate how they have hot honey which is always great with a slice of pizza!

Lakshmi M.

Yelp
Pizza yummy. Garlic knots AMAZING. Vegan meatballs so-so. My friend had been raving about this place for a while so I knew I had to check it out! I didn't want to trek out into the world but pizza tempted me - we opted to grab a pizza to go as well as the polenta with vegan meatballs + pesto. Like I said above, the pizza was yummy! We got the tricolor one with vodka sauce, pesto, and marinara -- delicious and would recommend. The garlic knots were soooo good and I would 10/10 recommend those in a heartbeat! Honestly, would get those as a snack 24/7 if I could. Now being vegetarian, I was really excited to see the vegan meatballs but lord have mercy -- they were quite strange. Taste wise they were a tad sweet which made no sense in my brain. Texture wise they fell apart quite easily and were also dry which did not make for the best experience. The polenta itself was great and the pesto was delicious but would 100% pass on those vegan meatballs again. All in all, we liked this place but didn't love it. I would definitely swing by again if convenient. This place is in a food court of sorts with a couple of other places so the street parking situation can get a little hectic! Plan accordingly~

Scott H.

Yelp
They make a decent meatball here. I got the Nonnas special which is basically spaghetti a d meatballs. The pasta was a little over cooked but believe it or not, I like it like that. I sat under a red umbrella so it was a little hard to see what the sauce actually looked like. It tasted really bright. Almost a little spicy. I like my sauce or the darker sweeter side. The meatballs were not as tender as I had hoped. I like one that you can cut with a fork. They were seasoned well and made a good satisfying bite. I'm actually kind of bummed I didn't get the sandwich because all the features with some bread and mozzarella would be pretty darn awesome. I'd probably give that a try next time.

Richard F.

Yelp
Recommend when we first moved here a year+ ago finally was able to cross this off the list. Wife and I shared the Boss and Costanza. Both were good but the Boss -- which is more of an original sub -- but with chicken parm features was by far the better of the two. The cheese was just stacked! If I were to do it again it would be the Boss all to myself and there in person so as not to let it cook off and have all the gooey cheese while it's right out of the oven. Also I hear their cookies are amazing. Not available this time but always on the lookout for good chocolate chip cookies.

Brent W.

Yelp
Friendly people and one of the best authentic new York style pizzas in town. They have slices available which is nice and plenty of outdoor tables. I have not tried their pasta, sandwiches, or their cookies yet but their cookies definitely look delicious.

Emily P.

Yelp
Pizza was pretty good, i ordered a slice of Veggie& a slice of Pep. I personally love New York style pizza, and this had just that. Crust is thin, doughy, and had some crunch to it. The cheese was phenomenal! Not too heavy, good flavor. Also love mini pepperoni's! However...Slightly too greasy, where it would drip off the slice, but I was able to pat most of it off with a napkin before eating it. I am not a fan of grease dripping off possibly onto the front of my shirt. So I knocked a star off for that- but my biggest disappointment was the ranch. The ranch is definitely not homemade. When I'm eating New York style pizza, a home made ranch is a staple! This ranch tasted super fake, and did not pair well with the slice at all. I would recommend a homemade buttermilk dill ranch, it would definitely improve the experience of a pizza and ranch lover!

Mia W.

Yelp
I went in looking forward to vegan pizza by the slice, but that wasn't offered and I wasn't looking to spend $20+ on an entire pizza for one. It was great to see vegan sandwich options and we were not disappointed. The bread was delicious, especially on the Gilsan sandwich. The meatballs had a subtle sweetness that complimented the toppings on both sandwiches. Great textures and flavors all around. Looking forward to my next visit!

Dave D.

Yelp
This was fine. But it didn't blow my mind. We stopped by on a sunny weekend afternoon, and the neighborhood was hopping. This place was busy, as well as all their neighbors. Our group had a pasta, and a sandwich, both with meatballs. I honestly wasn't too impressed, though I liked the outdoor seating. I might come by again and try some pizza.

Karen G.

Yelp
My guess is change in ownership. I used to come on the regular. Never again. I have given it a few trys. Brown salad & the chicken meatballs that used to be so good had little to no flavor. So disappointing! Waste of money & tipped for what? Threw away Brown salad! Bummer!

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
I have deeply missed their 87th and Meatball Location in St. Johns but then I remembered they have another location! Food came out fresh, hot, and fast! The meatball sandwich was like the best of garlic bread and saucy meatballs! Will be back again

Courtney J.

Yelp
Came here for an appetizer. Good for a chill place to walk into. FOOD meatballs - they have four: chicken, beef, picante pork, and vegan and a choice of 3 sauces: cheesy, tomato, pork, and pesto We tried the three meat options and liked all of them. Mixed cheese with pesto for sauce. Comes with three little slices of bread. very rich and delicious and filling. Balls balls balls balls SERVICE nice staff AMBIANCE chill vibes, order a beer I'd be back.

Katie B.

Yelp
Dropped in for a slice and was not disappointed. I got the special, which had sun dried tomatoes and nduja salami paste. The slice was tasty with a crisp, thin crust and a nice chewy edge, very close to NY style pizza. There probably could have been more gooey cheese, but I like my cheese on the lighter side. This place is perfectly located next to Tropicale so you can get pina colada from there and pizza from here. Look forward to trying more items from here in the future!

John B.

Yelp
This place is absolutely outstanding. I saw it driving by and had to give it a shot. I was hungry, so I started with a meatball slice of pizza while waiting. It was amazing! Came out rewarmed fast, and almost exactly at the time I finished sharing it with my girl, the take out order was ready. Take out was Polenta with pork meatballs and sauce. Had a little heat that I loved. Very rich. I wish I had a little garlic bread to dip, but that's on me. SOO good. My wife likes salads, so we got the kale salad. I don't like salad, and I hate kale. We almost cage fought over that damn salad! I will be back again soon! Probably regularly. Too regularly! This stuff is going to kill me. It will be a good death. Most importantly, the service was impeccable. Very kind and wonderful people that we dealt with. Very grateful for that.

Kyle P.

Yelp
You know you live in Portland when... ME: (looks at menu. Wants cheese with my balls. Sees mozzarella listed on balls sandwich, does not see mozzarella listed on polenta & balls dish) ALSO ME: "Hi, does the polenta come with cheese on it?" CASHIER: (look of dread in her face. Assumes I am non-dairy and she is about to lose my business with this answer) "Ummm yeah actually it does have cheese on it." (Said like this is a bad thing) "The polenta has Parmesan in it too.. Oh and milk, and butter, and -" (trails off in embarrassment) ME: (cuts her off to save her from her misery) "Oh haha no, I actually WANT cheese. I'll take it!" --- I've tried a couple different meatballs, the hero sandwich, and the polenta. My favorite is definitely the classic Italian ball. They also often have a seasonal dish on the white board, which one time was a very tasty grilled asparagus with lemon. They have beer and wine and plenty of outdoor seating along with some indoor seating as well. Nice little neighborhood spot!

Sandy A.

Yelp
The meatball sub is absolutely best I've had! Great location and friendly staff. New York Seltzer, my all time favorites! Must check out, you won't regret it ‼

Charlie T.

Yelp
Still a solid place to get some tasty meatballs in either a hero sandwich or with pasta. I had The Cosmo - fresh corkscrew pasta with spicy pork meatballs with creamy cheese and parmesan sauce. The meatballs have a good spice kick to it and definitely tasted great with the creamy sauce. I don't think I've had a bad experience here ever. You can get it to go or eat it out at one of the many outdoor tables they have.

Arun S.

Yelp
Amazing spot to grab some yummy meatballs and salads. We took sandwich, panini , pasta and polenta. All of those were absolutely devine. Kale salad with that sauce was just yumm. I been to a similar meatball speciality place back in Pittsburgh. This one too is almost at similar level. Try it up if you are in 24th and Glisan in Portland area. Note:- When I am writing this , they are only offering Togo. However there are outdoor seating available as few other eateries are next to it.

Mischa J.

Yelp
I came across these old photos that I took a while back, but I remember this place as having some of the best meatballs I have ever tried.

Katya L.

Yelp
Does anyone else get random coupons from their mortgage broker mailed to their home on a semi-regular basis? Just me? Okay, cool. Our broker sent us a coupon for 24th and Meatballs, and since I'm a sucker for a discount and will take advantage of just about any excuse to try a new place, I drove across town to get some grub. This joint has been on my radar for a while now and I was pretty impressed on the first go-round. I ordered the cheesy polenta with creamy vodka sauce and vegan 'balls and the spaghetti with Italian meatballs and spicy tomato pork sauce plus a side Caesar. Everything was super tasty. My mom can be hard to please (despite eating chips & salsa for most meals) and she really enjoyed the polenta and vegan 'balls. I'm less hard to please and spaghetti is one of my comfort foods, and I was really impressed with their version of the dish. Not to mention that the spicy tomato sauce is pretty dang spicy - they aren't messing around! The Caesar salad was nice and light with a decent amount of cheese and what seemed like housemade dressing. Prices are super reasonable and the food was ready in a wink. The menu is short and sweet - sandwiches, salads, and pastas - so they nail down their focus to perfection. I would definitely post up here again.

Alan T.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food at 24th and MB. I took off one star because of 2 things: It can be difficult to access this establishment (parking and cluttered surroundings). And the staff were fairly nonchalant about the experience. Now, that's not a bad thing. They were very friendly and accommodating. I will usually ask "what do most people order" or "what's the most popular dish". More often than not, I get a specific recommendation. This time around, the response was "everything is really good". While I'm sure that may be true, but that just leaves me back to square one waiting and deciding what to get. It's really your opportunity to showcase the food you have. When you talk up a dish and have a true conviction about how delish it is, it IS delish. I didn't get that here. Again, that's not bad at all. I would return and get jiggy with some more of those meatballs. The sauce was delish, the meat was awesome, it paired great with an ipa. I was just missing that excitement. Again, that's ok. The staff were very friendly. No complaints.

Shay W.

Yelp
I ordered via Postmates, I thought the sando was pretty small for the price and definitely did not have enough sauce. The meatballs were spicy! I don't know if they sent the wrong type or if their original beef and pork meatballs just have a kick to them. I wasn't really mad at it, I just wasn't expecting it

Rich F.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of the updates for this place. What was once a spot with mediocre meatball sandwiches and a bunch of sophomoric ball jokes has been transformed into the epitome of the pizza joints from my childhood in central New Jersey. The Meatball Subs. Great bread, tangy, bright sauce and even tangier meatballs. Really damn good. Also very filling. I tend to regret eating the whole thing in one sitting, but I can't help myself. It's too good. The Pizza. Just brought home our first pie from here. I grew up near exit 135 and there's not much I miss from my childhood other than the incredible thin, chewy crusts of the Pizza's from places like Sal's where I grew up. Sauce and cheese were spot on. Enough heat applied to get some nice dark bubbles in the crust. Tonights pie made me nostalgic for a place way, way in my past. Very impressive.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
This was so disappointing. And pretty gross honestly. Our pasta dishes came out of a heater and weren't even made fresh. So not worth the price. You can get freshly prepared pasta at a nice sit down restaurant for the same price. My pasta was mushy. And my partners meatballs were so incredibly dry, it was like eating a bunch of seasoned saltine crackers. We will never eat there again. What a waste of money

Dan O.

Yelp
Fantastic. Meatball sandwiches are great, and pizza is good too. Good family vibe, been several times with the kids and they love it.

Joe W.

Yelp
This where I go when I want good Italian pasta, real real good marinara sauce, and of course meatballs!! Really though if you want a quality pasta dish but don't want a fancy restaurant then go here. You can get a salad and just add a meatball. Seriously good for the budget

Caleb L.

Yelp
Food was pretty good pasta was cooked well and the creamy vodka sauce was delicious. However the actuall restaurant was very small hard to to get into if there's more then one person at a time. And it's really easy to miss. But the seating situation was pretty pleasant semi outdoor with a cover and heaters a fire pit to keep warm. And there was also a decent clean accessible bathroom. Witch is hard to come by these days.

Emma T.

Yelp
Amazing vegan pizza and meatball sub. It is a very small location with plenty of outdoor tables (no inside dining). One pizza can definitely feed 2 if not 3. They also put pesto on the vegan meatball sub. So amazing. Parking around the area can be a little tough and is mostly houred but we found some with no time limit a couple blocks down. Highly recommend!

Liesl S.

Yelp
Love me some balls. The meatballs are tender, the pasta is properly al dente. The amazing part is their sauces. They're most excellent. They also have creamy polenta & GF options. Quick service & great food. Yes please.

Geniece T.

Yelp
One of my faves in Portland. Best pasta at best price! This corner location is just perfectly placed near tropicale where you can also enjoy drinks

Karen Q.

Yelp
We had this on our way to airport as a last minute dinner and did not disappoint. Don't think about it just try it

Mar C.

Yelp
Thems some good balls. Ambience is very hole in the wall bout they have a pretty good happy hour deal for their sliders. $6, two sides and a drink. The meatballs are big so two sliders just about fills you up with a little room to spare for dessert next door. It is counter service and a one-two man show so it can be slow at times. But it's worth the wait for pork picante and vegan balls!

Samantha O.

Yelp
The polenta and meatballs is rocksolid. As is their Caesar salad. The dressing is so good and lettuce is just super good every time and I highly recommend.

April C.

Yelp
Dude!! This spot hit the spot after a very long hike definitely would come back and order different stuff

Brittany W.

Yelp
There are no words for how incredible the food is. I've only lived in the PDX area for a few months and this is the first place I would willingly eat every week. The flavors are on point the bread has a nice crunch without being too hard. The way they build the sandwiches doesn't Leave the bottom all soggy and gross. The Costanza is Eat here and find your happy place.

Dalton M.

Yelp
I came last week to celebrate my lil sister moving to the Portland area and heard great things about this place. First impression: Ordering was quick and easy. Staff was personable. Timing to get food out was very quick. The eating area is so beautiful. Dangling lights, plants, and colorful seats. We shared the Costanza and the Crybaby sandwiches with a side of the spaghetti & meatballs. Each of the sauces were amazing. Im used to places having overly acidic tomato sauce and usually avoid it entirely. But now i can say i have a new standard to hold other sauces to

Michelle N.

Yelp
Amazing meatballs! Really, I've been craving this place from the first time I had it. They've have some COVID policies in place, looks like staff wears masks and they also do curbside pick up. They have a pickup window. I recommend putting in an online order or a phone order and then come pick up your food. They're pretty quick with orders! Parking is sparse since they share the block with lots of other places, but you could probably snag a quick spot on the street, run in grab your order and eat!

Jenn L.

Yelp
I found 24th & Meatballs on a "best sauces in Portland" list and I was not disappointed. Since it was our first time here we decided to go with two orders of Balls Balls Balls to try out the different types of meatball with two different sauces. Order 1: classic, pork, and chicken meatballs with tomato basil Order 2: classic, pork, and chicken meatballs with spicy pork The boyfriend and I both agreed that the classic meatball was our favorite but he enjoyed the spicy pork sauce more while I liked the tomato basil more (I'm not a fan of spicy whereas he is). This is a man who loves his sauce so the fact that he was impressed is a pretty big deal to me. They have a pretty big menu and everything sounded really good but we didn't have the stomach room for too many dishes. We're definitely hoping to come back the next time we visit Portland.

Marc W.

Yelp
That's a good meatball! Had the meatball sandwich and it was really good. Bread was delicious and balls were meaty. Taste so good when they hit your lips. Kid had spaghetti and meatballs - he loved it (granted that kid loves everything but chunky peanut butter and cucumbers). Spouse enjoyed the penne vodka sauce. She felt her meatballs were undercooked a bit but to be honest she feels that way about any red meat - her opinion is suspicious. Overall enjoyed a lot.

Russ C.

Yelp
I ordered their spicy pork meatballs and the spicy marinara sauce sandwich. That plus a beer on draft came out to $15.00. The sandwich looked beautiful. Large portion and the cheese was toasted perfectly. The bread is hihh quality, and toasted well which gave it a solid crunch while still being soft in the middle. The meatballs were very good as was the sauce. I was surprised by just how spicy it was. I love spice but even I had to go back for a refill of water. I would suggest going spicy meatballs and a less spicy sauce. While it was totally good, the heat seemed to mask the flavors you typically find in a meatball sub. Atmosphere: a pleasant part of town, the restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and they bring you your food. They have a rotating beer of draft. Can't remember what I got, but it was a great, local IPA. Overall, a very good sandwich. If you are in the area and have a craving for a meatball sub, this is a place worth checking out.

Taisiya S.

Yelp
Them are some tasty balls. My lil one had the regular meatballs and pasta with marinara sauce and I had 3 pork balls in a spicy pork sauce....They were tasty. Each order was under $10 and although parking wasn't ideal, it wasn't too hard either. Bathrooms are available just outside. The guy at the counter was really nice and was extra smiley. Overall - it made for a great lunch. Solid spot.

Kristy W.

Yelp
I am glad we stopped in! Who doesn't love a good meatball? I used to order my guys meatball sandwich with an extra ball back in the day when we ate at Subway....and if you grew up watching Married with Children you will get that reference. ;-) The balls here were really good, I ordered the one with the basil, and my guy got the spicy pork. They were both very good, but I really think I liked the spicy pork better. I want to come back for sure. I also want to go back to this block just to try the other places around the area.

Silvia G.

Yelp
Sadly the pasta was soggy and overcooked and the vodka sauce insipid...on the upside tho the spicy meatballs were great - next time I would only go for the meatballs...and order bread as it's not included...
