Really enjoyed my food here on a work trip. I'm coming back to Midtown in a month...will definitely return for dinner!
Came in at about 7pm on a Tuesday. Restaurant was on the busy side, but not packed, and I got a table right away close to the bar.
Bartender was my server....he was really nice, made good suggestions, and was very attentive to refills and dirty plates, but not in an overbearing way. Very good service.
I ordered edemame (no salt), papaya salad, pad Thai with (crispy) tofu, and the mango ice cream for dessert.
Edemame was good - little mushy, and they missed the no salt request, but it wasn't drowning in it, so I dealt.
Papaya salad was very tasty. I've had some before that are just drowning in liquid, but this one was light and fresh.
Pad Thai was also good. As others have mentioned, it's on the slightly sweet side - that's not a bad thing, just different than others I've had. I wish it would have had more peanut and egg: it was presented well and had a good amount of tofu.
For dessert, I settled for the mango ice cream. I say settled, because I was very excited to get the mango sticky rice, but they were out the night I went! So, that said, the ice cream was very good for what it was.
Overall, very pleased with my dinner experience at 26 Thai. It'll be good to come back next time I'm in town.
