The Best New Restaurants In Washington DC

"2Fifty’s original Maryland location has achieved legendary status. Ask anyone in the DMV where to get solid Southern BBQ—or at least the closest thing you’ll find this far north—and they’ll point you there. Luckily for us, they’ve opened a new spot in Mt. Vernon Triangle. Their massive wagyu beef ribs (which fall apart if you so much as look at them), smoky-sweet citrus pineapple slices, and beefy baked beans are poem-worthy. It’s your classic BBQ setup—pick your meat, sides, and grab a seat—and whatever you do, don’t forget the banana pudding on your way out." - omnia saed, madeline weinfield, jonathan smith, mekita rivas, allison robicelli, omnia saed, kym backer, omnia saed

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at 2Fifty Texas BBQ on K St. The food is absolutely fantastic – true Texas BBQ flavor that melts in your mouth. The brisket was perfectly smoked, juicy, and tender, while the ribs had a great smoky crust with a nice balance of seasoning. The sides, especially the mac and cheese and coleslaw, were fresh and flavorful. The staff was friendly and provided great service, and the overall vibe of the place is casual and welcoming. If you're craving authentic BBQ, this is the place to go! Highly recommend!

Living close to Kansas City growing up, I’d like to feel like I know what good BBQ is. This place not only matches its taste, but the customer service was outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the smoked flavor was spot on. The sides were fresh, flavorful, and truly complemented the meal. I can confidently say 2fifty BBQ knows how to deliver authentic, delicious BBQ that rivals the best spots in KC. We'll definitely be back!

As someone whom has traveled the country visiting Texas BBQ establishments I would say 2 fifty was quite good. Not in my top spots like Chris Prieto’s Prime(NC) or Hard Eight(TX), but definitely worth the visit. The Brisket quesadillas were divine and overflowing with Brisket. As for sides we tried the brisket beans and the cornbread. The brisket beans were average. Just nothing really notable or distinct about the beans. The cornbread though was one of the better I’ve had. Perfect balance of flavor. It was soft and the texture was not gritty like some cornbreads can often be. Finished off on top with a kiss of honey butter. I would come here just to eat the cornbread. The staff here are very friendly and the place was very clean. I would consider eating here again when in DC.

Sundays are family days for us—slow, easy, and all about good vibes. This Sunday, we finally made it to 2Fifty BBQ in DC! I’ve been a fan since their Riverdale, MD location but just hadn’t found the time to visit their new spot. Well, we made it. Parking? Typical DC street parking, but we scored a spot right in front (a Sunday miracle). Kingston didn’t partake since he’s vegan and, honestly, he snoozed through most of the visit because we came during nap time. Lucky guy skipped straight to the food coma part of the meal. Now, let’s talk vibes. The decor is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern industrial flair. The front dining area has picnic-style wooden tables and benches that scream “let’s eat and chill.” Add to that the patterned tiles, hanging light bulbs, and exposed ceiling beams, and you’ve got a space that feels stylish but cozy. It’s like they wanted you to feel like you’re at a chic backyard BBQ. The Food: We already knew bae wanted brisket before we even got there. So, we ordered: • Brisket • Chicken Leg Quarter • Sweet Potato Mash • Esquites (Corn Salad) • Fountain Drink The total was around $45—don’t quote me on that, but close enough. We grabbed a seat in the dining room area past the restrooms, and every table was stocked with BBQ sauce (yes, plural). Now, here’s the tea: • Brisket: Tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. Bae complained about the fat, but let’s be real—that’s where the flavor lives. • Chicken Leg Quarter: The smoky taste gave me cookout vibes, and that little squirt of magic juice they drizzle on top? Chef’s kiss. It made the skin glisten and taste amazing. • Sweet Potato Mash: Sweet but not overly so—just the right balance. It was comforting without being cloying. • Esquites: Loaded with flavor! The red onions and cilantro brought the heat, and it had just enough kick to keep things interesting. And the BBQ sauces? Bae, who’s an island man thats use to heat, said the hot wasn’t that spicy. Lies. It definitely had a kick to it. Not unbearable though. We didn’t finish everything (half the meats, most of the mash, and some corn salad came home with us), but trust me, every bite was memorable. Final Verdict? Will I be back? Is that even a question? 2Fifty BBQ serves quality food with fantastic flavors, and the ambiance makes it all the better.

Google
The BBQ was delicious ! My only problem with it is that it is spicy (and I am a bit allergic to spicy food) but I couldn’t resist 2024-11-25 my wife and me took our son to 2fifty for his BBQ experience :). I endured the spicy food again but it sure is delicious. This time we tried the beef ribs and it became my new favorite (not as spicy but delicious), baked beans and macaroni (which was delicious when mixed together :). As we were walking out we noticed they had brisquette tamales ! I gotta try that next time !!! :)

2fifty BBQ on K Street Review: A Taste of Texas in DC 2fifty BBQ on K Street offers a fantastic BBQ experience reminiscent of Texas. We loved the Wagyu and prime brisket, both tender and juicy, providing a delightful burst of flavor with every bite. The sides, though a bit pricey at $7 for a small portion, were equally enjoyable, especially the mac and cheese and corn. The overall vibes at 2fifty BBQ are great, capturing the essence of a good Texas BBQ joint. The service is straightforward and efficient—order at the counter for however many pounds you'd like, and you're all set for a satisfying meal. For BBQ enthusiasts looking for a genuine taste of Texas, 2fifty BBQ is definitely worth a visit.

Google
I want to start off by saying I saw a review of someone stating this is their “top 3 BBQ places in DC” and I would love to see the other two. As some actually FROM Texas, this place is top notch. The owner has worked with the top BBQ masters in Texas (Photos displayed in the restaurant) and it shows. This place is so good I brought my dad here who smokes his own 12-hour brisket and he even said this brisket is better. If you’re an appreciator of the patience and craft needed to smoke true Texas BBQ, this is the place for you. The ribs literally fall off the bone. The brisket tamales is such a fun fusion of Salvadorian and Texas culture, and they’re delicious. Please take it from someone who lives in DC and misses Texas, this place takes me home.

Google
not only am I *from* central texas, I had just come straight *from* central texas, where I ate plenty of bbq, when I first ate here…so when I say this place is the real deal, I mean that with my whole chest. the only way to get bbq this good is to do it right (in a proper smoker) and to do it slow, and these guys are clearly doing both. ridiculously tender meat (I’m going to be dreaming of that waygu beef for a long time), great sides, and the friendliest people, who checked in on us several times. unlike anything else I’ve had in dc.

Yelp
We had this place bookmarked for awhile, and were super excited to stop by before a Caps game just a short walk away. When we came around 5 pm, there were no lines but the place quickly filled up after we got our food so I can tell it's quite popular! For the meats, the two of us shared the pork spare ribs, the wagyu brisket and the spicy cheddar sausage. For the sides, we chose the mac & cheese, corn bread and grilled pineapple. Everything was absolutely delicious! My favorite was the sausage - it actually had a nice heat to the seasoning and the casing had a yummy snap snap to it. Coupled with the ooey gooey melted cheese made this a flavor party. The pork spare ribs was also scrumptious - I loved the assertive flavor and the melt-in-your-mouth tender ribs. The wagyu brisket was a journey! This was my husband's favorite. You could see and taste the high marbling in the wagyu. While delicious, it was slightly too rich for me that I stopped after 4 bites... which worked out for my husband who got to have more! All of the sides were delicious. I loved the mix of cheeses in the mac & cheese and the super delicate corn bread. The highlight was the grilled pineapple though! It was extra sweet with a slight heat and well caramelized. Hope to come back very soon!

Yelp
Had Jury Duty at the courthouse and decided to walk around and see what I could find for lunch. Stumbled upon 2Fifty BBQ. I walked in and the place was empty. 1 patron inside. I couldn't understand why until I checked out. More on that later. I was torn on what to get but they gave me a sample of the brisket as I was curious. Sample was ok so I decided to give it a shot. Ordered the 1/2lb brisket and potato salad. $32!!!!! This is exactly why they were empty. The potato salad is loaded with mustard which they say. I was surprised the skin from the potato's was still on. The brisket wasn't hot . Moreso on the luke warm side a Lindy chewy. The service was good. The food is average. The prices are sky high.

Yelp
This is the best BBQ in the DMV! The meat is cooked to literal perfection. We got the wagyu brisket, pork ends (must try), and ribs. Everything was so soft and buttery you barley had to even chew.. The sides were delicious as well. We got their creamy coleslaw, Mac and cheese, esquite (Mexican street corn), and their moist fluffy corn bread At the end we got their banana pudding which was the cherry on top. And man, did we have the itis. The service was excellent, everyone was so kind. And the restaurant gives picnic vibes with their seats being benches. 20/10 recommend, seriously!

Yelp
I was super excited to visit 2Fifty for the first time after hearing such good things about it. It was good, but a few parts were not as good as they should have been (due to very obvious, easily fixed problems), and overall it didn't live up to the hype (which might be an impossible task since the hype is through the roof). The space is pretty basic, with some outside seats, a front area where you order, three picnic tables for seating plus a few two-tops, and a case with some refrigerated items, and a soda fountain. At first, I was worried we wouldn't get a seat, but there is also a back dining room area. The menu is straightforward -- you can order meats in 0.5 lb increments and sides in small or large. They serve a few types of beer and wine, but it's not on the main menu, only a menu paper over by check out. There are no preset platters or combos; everything is a la carte. You wait in line to order and first get meats, then sides, then drinks and pay. I visited with two other people and we got a ton of food. We spent $110 and had about 1/3 of the food left over. We got 1/2 lb lamb - comes with tortilla chips - $12.50 1 lb prime brisket - $36 1/5 lb poblano sausage - $10 Esquites (regular) - $7 Mac and cheese (regular) - $7 Brisket Beans (regular) - $7 Three beers - $5 each The plates came with pickles and pickled red onion. Sauce was a DIY affair, with two options on the table: sweet and spicy. The lamb was very good, but the tortilla chips were not -- no seasoning, all very brown, looked and tasted burnt. The brisket was very good, with a great balance of lean and fatty pieces. The sausage was coarsely ground, which I liked, but I would have liked more spiciness from the poblano. Esquites were very good Brisket beans were good Mac and cheese was extremely watery and not warm enough. Our serving was the first from a fresh tray in the back, so I thought it would be fresh and in great shape, but it was a let down. Ordering was not as easy as it should be. We placed our meet order, but the guy misheard us and only gave us the brisket, then sent us on to get sides, so we had to backtrack. Then, the cashier got our beers, but misheard us again and thought we only ordered two. Beers are cheap at $5-$6. I like that their house beer is a smoked lager -- smoked beers are rare but I love them. I like that they have stations with cutlery, napkins, and to-go boxes so you don't have to ask the staff. I would go back, but they need to fix their tortilla chip and mac and cheese situation.

Yelp
2fifty Texas BBQ is a gem for any BBQ lover! The brisket is tender and perfectly smoked with just the right amount of bark, while the ribs practically fall off the bone. The flavors are bold and authentic, reminiscent of Texas-style BBQ at its finest. The sides are just as impressive. The mac and cheese is creamy with a rich, cheesy flavor, and the coleslaw has a fresh crunch that pairs perfectly with the meats. The house-made pickles add a nice touch, balancing out the richness of the BBQ. The atmosphere is casual, and while it can get busy, the staff handles the crowd efficiently and always with a friendly smile. My only reason for holding back a fifth star is that it can be a bit pricey compared to other . Overall, 2fifty Texas BBQ is a must-visit spot for any BBQ enthusiast! Recommendation level: mid-high

Yelp
Ordered Thanksgiving from 2Fifty Texas BBQ - and man that turkey was smoked to perrrrrfection! The fam was impressed with what DC could offer. Only slight downgrade was the Wagyu beef that came out a bit on the drier side (as I've requested it to be moist). Guess brisket is meant to be eaten there!
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
We ordered the Wagyu brisket, Pulled lamb, brisket tamale, Sweet potato mash, Mac and cheese, & Esquites. Every single thing was 10/10! I preferred the lamb over the Waygu brisket. I wish the pulled lamb didn't come with the nanchos. All of the meat was smoked and flavored beautifully. Sizes were seasoned perfectly. Customer service, food, the building size and layout. Definitely get here.

Yelp
Definitely the juiciest brisket I have ever had even with having tasted Texas BBQ in Austin. I originally tried 2Fifty when they had a counter at union market and I have been thinking about them ever since. Their brisket sandwich is excellent with a cole slaw topping. I inhaled it and wish I could get their food more but they close relatively early around 7/7:30 so you have to time your visits accordingly! Service is fast and it's chipotle style service so you can easily walk in and carry out or grab a table to eat inside.

Yelp
I saw this place on social media where someone posted the brisket burger and I knew I had to try. T2fifty is similar to a number of BBQ restaurants where you they either smoke their meat in actual pits or makeshift ovens. This location does the former and you get to see it on their tv screens. I walked in and ordered the brisket burger and decided to get everything on it- coleslaw, pickles, and pickled red onions, the "mac" n cheese, and the roasted vegetables. The crew gave a hefty serving and was pretty quick as I went there around 2pm, but they weren't packed anyways. The brisket burger is a MUST have. The tenda meat serves the toasted bread well and compliments their house BBQ sauce along side the pickles and pickled red onion. I mean, the way the bread held all the meat together was impressive; I had no choice but to eat it all. The macaroni and cheese was ok since the noodles were overcooked. I think if they had not overcooked the noodles, it would have been much better. The roasted vegetables were another favorite as they were loaded with flavor and a lightness that complimented the heaviness of the BBQ. Importantly, they are affordable compared to other BBQ restaurants of this style. I think I spent $27, but it would've been 20 but I added an extra side. I wouldn't come back, only because it's not a mom and pop BBQ spot and doesn't have the taste of backyard smoke flavor.

Yelp
2fifty stands as a beacon for BBQ enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable culinary experience. As a connoisseur of smoked delights, I recently ventured into this gastronomic haven and was left spellbound by its offerings. Upon entering, the industrial-chic ambiance immediately transported me to the heart of Texas BBQ culture. The aroma of smoldering wood and sizzling meat tantalized my senses, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The interior, with its rugged charm, perfectly complements the essence of authentic BBQ. Opting for the moist brisket, I embarked on a culinary journey like no other. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the expertise and dedication of the pitmasters. Tender, succulent, and bursting with smoky goodness, the brisket exceeded all expectations, leaving me craving for more. The seating arrangements, featuring both indoor and outdoor picnic tables, added to the laid-back atmosphere, fostering a sense of communal dining reminiscent of backyard BBQ gatherings. Moreover, the staff at 2fifty exuded warmth and hospitality, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their passion for BBQ shone through in every interaction, adding a personal touch to the affair. However, it would be remiss of me not to address the elephant in the room - the price. While the quality of the fare justifies the cost, the steep prices may deter some patrons. Blame can be attributed to the complexities of DC politics and the implications of Initiative 82.

Yelp
Best Texas BBQ restaurant in the DMV area. The moist wagyu brisket and beef ribs are must-haves and excellent. Pricey for just BBQ but well worth it. The meats are so tender and flavorful and complemented well by the sides. Pork ribs are also very good. Tried the whole hog and pulled lamb but would skip next time as they were dry. Mac n cheese is great as are the esquites. The staff are nice in recommending what to order, and the restaurant has enough space in the back to accommodate larger parties.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Decided to stop by on the way home to grab dinner for a family of four. Ordered a pound of wagyu and prime brisket. The wagyu one was delightful while the prime one tasted fairly average. Ordered the huge cheesy sausage. It wasn't extraordinary. In any case, it wasn't a bad deal.
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Yes. My spouse and brother loved the beef ribs and wagyu brisket (I don't eat beef) - they couldn't stop talking about it. The spare ribs were good, very well seasoned - I didn't need the sauce (although I'm not a huge sauce person unless it's pulled or drier meat). Most options on the menu (in true Texas form) were beef or has beef. The mac and cheese is 5 stars -- packed with actual cheese, with that nice crisp layer on top. The plantains are pretty standard but cooked well -not dry. The esquites were good -- the corn has a grilled flavor, you have the option to put different toppings on -we got all of it; it was a bit too on the tangy side for me. I'd like more greens options-- the roasted veggies that I saw (a brussel sprout mix) didn't look great but they were also running low so it was the bottom of the barrel. The place is deceptively small - two picnic tables up front and a few 2-seaters, but there are more seats in the back. When we went, no beer on tap yet but they said it should be ready this summer (2024). Overall, service was fast, food was solid. Will definitely come back for barbecue. I mean it's on the pricy side but you get what you pay for -- the time and quality they put into everything is evident.

Yelp
Walked in here around 11:40 on Saturday and the place had a handful of people already seated and enjoying their meals. Between me and my boyfriend we ordered the following: 1lb of prime brisket: this was amazing. We're already talking about making this place a to go spot for our next visit. Juicy and flavorful, we couldn't get enough. Four slices is about a pound of meat which was enough for the both of us. I would recommend getting 1/2 lb of the wagyu brisket and 1/2 of the prime. We didn't get the wagyu but we're looking forward to trying it on our next visit. Poblano Sausage: solid piece of sausage. Definitely enough for one person but since we ordered other dishes, we shared this. Mustard potato salad: I love potato salad, but in the end, I had to start choosing what to eat because I was filling up fast and I opted to not finish this. I think if we could've ordered half the standard size, this amount would've been perfect. Mac n Cheese: a must have. A generous portion. Everyone should order this. By noon, there were customers coming in through the door every so often. So recommend not coming here too late in the afternoon because I believe they close when the meat sells out!
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon. Pretty surprised how quiet it was but I did not mind. Best BBQ in the DMV in my opinion. It is pricey but you're absolutely going to be full if you get a meat and two sides.

Yelp
Finally made to try the pulled lamb. It wasn't too busy in a Sunday afternoon, so service was quick and precise. I got my order to go. I was thankful they had sectional container for the lamb and chips. I also got a sauce link, a small order of the brisket beans & 2 brisket tamales. The lamb was Amazing!! Tender & very flavorful. The sausage was spicy and the beans had plenty of brisket in it. Great amount of food at a great price! I was telling my coworker need to come check this place out!!

Yelp
Pretty good BBQ, likely the best you can get in these parts. We (two hungry dudes) got: Wagyu brisket- the fatty cut was excellent. Lean was a tad dry, which was surprising given they're using American Wagyu. Pork ribs- a tad dry, but well-seasoned. Had the right amount of bite, which is a sign of a skilled cook. Lamb nachos- I really liked this. Not many places do lamb BBQ, but it's always a treat when they do. Good mix of fatty/lean, and not overly gamey. I'll take pulled lamb over pulled pork any day. Beef rib- probably the best thing on the plate. Juicy, tender, and decadent. Sides were decent as well- we got the charred veggies and mac & cheese. I appreciate that they add multiple types of pickles as well, which makes for a more colorful plate, a counterpoint to all that richness, and...better digestion too haha. Would recommend!

Michael G.

Yelp
This place is great! Best brisket in town. I didn't think the mac and cheese was super - too liquid. But the meats are all top quality.
google avatar

Josh F.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent barbecue. I came with my dad because he loves this food way more than I do. We order too much because we wanted to try everything, and we loved every meat we ordered. The food can get expensive, but you pay for quality. If I'm ever in the mood for barbecue, I'll definitely come running back to this place.
google avatar

Hilary J.

Yelp
When we got there it was not too far from the convention. They had a chalkboard list of what was there and we had ribs he had brisket and we had Mac and cheese. Plus cornbread which I'm picky but delicious and moist. The Mac and cheese was ok. The ribs yummy sauce is optional which really I don't think it is need. When the manager came to tell me about when it was from and other things main reason I gave a five or I would have been a star less. Pricey but we would come back again.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Nice location much closer to home. Same solid bbq. Counter style until sell out. Brisket is good, moist, good spice, want more smoke though Cheddar sausage was great Pork ribs were the favorite Pulled pork is solid brisket tamales were ok - not a ton of brisket in them and wanted more corn flavor from the masa Sides - mac and cheese is the favorite, esquites are good, potato salad is not very mustardy and bang average Sauces are better than I remember - spicy and mustard are the favorites
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
$50. lamb,pork.brisket. Good flavor. I think it shows the quality of the meat without too much sauces at all. That means they don't try to hide flavor of the BBQ skills. I'd have to say they use lots of black pepper to season the meat. I can taste it on my tongue.
google avatar

Hunter B.

Yelp
Finally got around to trying this place. We went there for lunch on Saturday and it was pretty busy. I tried the waygu and prime brisket. Do not even waste your time on the waygu brisket, just get the prime one. The mac and cheese and corn bread was good too. If I want bbq brisket in DC I would go back here.

Yelp
If you are looking for authentically, flavored Texan barbecue, this is your spot! The seasoning on that brisket changed my life. I could literally go here every single day just for the brisket and the pulled lamb nachos. The service is excellent. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted and treated like family. Your price is based upon the meat and size that you choose.- based on weight of meat. I love the exposed brick and wood within the restaurant. It creates a really great ambience, and they have extra space in the back for larger parties who want to sit together. I will definitely be returning. the cheddar sausage, the Wagyu, the pork ribs, and the beef ribs... Just everything try everything at least once I promise you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Didn't quite live up to my (admittedly very high) expectations, but it's a good place. You order at the counter and then there's a fair amount of open seating. My husband said the wagyu brisket was amazing. we agreed "the whole hog" was great and a lot of steps above your average pulled pork. I was disappointed with the flavor and texture of the pork ribs. for sides: roasted veges were ok but not outstanding. cornbread was FANTASTIC. There are fountain drinks, a few bottled drinks, iced tea (sweet and unsweetened), a few tap beers, and wine bottles for purchase with the food. No cocktails or liquor.

Yelp
The place was decent but the prices and deals are outrageous and not worth it. Honestly, if you're looking for better barbecue with good deals Hill Country or Federalist Pig are way more affordable and tasty in DC. Not even a quarter of brisket and a half chicken with two sides was over $50 without tip. Definitely not a good deal here. As a side note, the servers also tried to upsell us and charge $30 for brisket. They staff was also rude and unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend this place and I don't think I'd go back again.

Yelp
I fell for the hype and was sorely let down. Their brisket was dry and tasted mostly of black pepper. The spareribs were tender but also minimally seasoned. The blacks were supposed to be "Latin inspired" but as a Latino I take offense since these beans had minimal seasoning and flavor in general. The Texas toast was literally just 2 pieces of stale bread with nothing on it. The Mac and cheese, brisket tamales, and "fire roasted" vegetables were good, but they were actually just oven roasted vegetables that they hit with a blow torch before serving. For the cost of the food and the hype around this place I expected a lot more from 2fifty bbq. Unfortunately, I'll just have to get bbq in the south.

Yelp
Pretty amazing pastrami brisket sando today. My favorite sides were the fried plantains (shown), mac and cheese, and sweet potato mash.

Yelp
We catered our Thanksgiving with 2Fifty. No longer need to cook for 12 or more when the family and friends have dispersed. We hoped somebody would join us, but sadly the two of us ate alone. On the plus side, more leftovers! We got a tray full of brisket, turkey, and sausages. Sides were the corn dish, corn bread, and the mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was smoked, spiced and seasoned to perfection. There was a minor issue when my order went in for a 10:00 AM pickup. A quick call resolved that and everything was ready at the requested 3:00 PM. I'll use this option for Thanksgiving again. I can't speak to ambiance, other than to say it was efficient and friendly in a pickup only situation. To quote Arnold, "I'll be back."

Yelp
This place lives up to the rumors. Went a bit early and walked right in. Staff are friendly and are willing to answer your questions. The meat is sliced right in front of you so you can get exactly what you want how you want it. The wagyu brisket was very moist and the rub was tasty. The fire roasted vegetables were seasoned perfectly with plenty of life! Both highly recommended. Lots of seating in the back. Will definitely be back to try other things.

Yelp
I loved this place and I am upset; I could not eat more. I went here for lunch and it was delicious. The employees were very friendly and even offered me a sample. I ordered the pork sandwich which was so delicious. I also ordered a piece of rib and some brisket with macaroni and cheese. My meal was delicious and I really enjoyed the flavors of the meal. I also think it was well priced for the quality of the meal. I did not know what to get and the staff was very friendly in recommending certain items and I was able to taste some items. Overall this restaurant was delicious and I recommend it. I will be back when I am in Washington D.C

Yelp
Meats are good but the sides are too much like "mustardy potato salad" or the mac & cheese. As they say, sometimes less is more. Just master the craft and simple food wins.

Yelp
2fifty BBQ on K Street Review: A Taste of Texas in DC 2fifty BBQ on K Street offers a fantastic BBQ experience reminiscent of Texas. We loved the Wagyu and prime brisket, both tender and juicy, providing a delightful burst of flavor with every bite. The sides, though a bit pricey at $7 for a small portion, were equally enjoyable, especially the mac and cheese and corn. The overall vibes at 2fifty BBQ are great, capturing the essence of a good Texas BBQ joint. The service is straightforward and efficient--order at the counter for however many pounds you'd like, and you're all set for a satisfying meal. For BBQ enthusiasts looking for a genuine taste of Texas, 2fifty BBQ is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I started out so well...ambiance of the bbq place is fun, lively, clean & bbq joint vibe. First you select your meats, sides & pick up your goodies and grab a table. Ample seatings, also available in the back & outdoor tables on site. Friendly staffs will assist you with samples & ordering if you're not familiar with. We've ordered pull pork sandwiches which came with cold slaw & pickles- with additional bbq sauce- I loved the spicy bbq sauce. For sides we shared Mac n cheese- gooey, cheesy & served hot, along with brisket baked beans and order of their corn bread. All was so delicious that I was distracted by yumminess & forgot to snap a photo. Hope you get to visit this delicious bbq joint in DC. Bon appetite!

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here! We got the whole pig sandwich - super flavorful and not dry at all like some pulled pork can be. The wagyu was tender and paired perfectly with some pickled red onions and their signature sauce. The spicy cheddar sausage was exactly as it sounds with nice bites of mustard seeds!

Yelp
Came by with my friends for lunch and got a huge variety of things. For our meats we got the Wagyu Brisket, Spare Ribs, Smoked Turkey, Spicy Cheddar Sausages, and their Beef Rib. For the sides we got the Coleslaw, Mac and Cheese, and Beans. All the meats were extremely well seasoned, super tender, and had a great smoke flavor. My personal favorite was the Wagyu Brisket and Spare Ribs. The Smoked Turkey was also a dark horse that I was surprised to like. The manager was nice as well, walking around to check on all the customers. Definitely some of the best BBQ in the DMV!

Yelp
I had tried out 2fifty's first at the Union Market, and I remember we had a tasty meal! It was great to see a brick-and-mortar in D.C. Their menu offers various meats (such as prime brisket, American wagyu brisket, beef ribs, pulled pork, turkey, sausages, chicken, and turkey), daily specials (such as the BBQ pupusas), sandwiches, and sides. We stuck with their brisket, requesting it to be on the fattier end, and it was tender and tasty. We liked the exterior and it had great flavor. Note that this place is open until items are sold out, so it' best to get there early as possible! Staff were friendly and the place was bustling. Street parking available in the area. +try their brisket +friendly service

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner one evening to see what all the hype was about and it was overall solid. I would put it in contention for top 3 BBQ i've had in DC. Environment Lively and fun space with a small front half of the restaurant with some sitting options but mostly for ordering and there is a bunch of dining space in the back if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal. You order almost cafeteria style - first your meats, then your sides and any desert and pay at the end. Pretty easy and simple. Service All the staff was friendly and helpful and the service was organized and quick. No issue and had a very warm welcome. Food and drinks Overall the food was solid. I had a fairly tasty BBQ sandwich and the mac cheese wasn't bad. The cornbread was fine too. I've had better meals at other BBQ spots but this wasn't bad at all. I would want to come back and try some of the brisket to see if that lives up to the hype. Overall It was a great space with some solid BBQ. I have other favorites but I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
I am always skeptical of brisket outside of Texas, but this place is pretty legit. The wagyu brisket was nice and fatty, with a good amount of smoke. The bbq sauce is also excellent. The poblano sausage was just ok, but I'll definitely be back for the brisket.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best bbq in Washington, DC, then look no further because this is it. I've sampled many of the city's notorious bbq establishments and believe me when I say that most of them have left me disappointed when I was through with them. However this new location undoubtedly has some of the best bbq I've ever tasted. I purchased some of the prime brisket, the elote-ish corn and the lamb. The lamb although a little salty was great, the corn had a nice sour zing to it and the star of the show; the brisket, was out of this world. It was literally falling off of my fork as I attempted to grab my first bite. It was so good that I'm considering going back just to try the wagyu brisket. I'll definitely be back soon.

Yelp
I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The brisket is delicious. Now there's hill country bbq and 2 fifty in the Penn quarter area. Prices are ok - about the same as hill country. Only difference is their wagyu brisket and brisket tamales which aren't that great but it's an option. Also have a cuatro leches that I need to try.

Yelp
I had the Wagyu brisket it was really good but I would only recommend it to try, Maybe 1/4. The Caramelized pineapple was delicious. I would definitely go back to try other dishes.

Yelp
I was nervous going into this downtown location having been to the Maryland restaurant. The union market isn't nearly as good as the Nope, this place is as good as the OG. I miss seeing a smoker outside. I don't miss the crowds. Location is packed. Prime brisket this time, they ran out of Wagyu. Went with moist, but they actually offered me the burnt ends first. OMG. Yes moist. Good bark, but not full hardcore bark like you might do at home. The spicy cheddar sausage was good, huge chunks of cheese. And I have to order esquites. Great as well. Easily the best Central Texas style barbecue in the area. This place is DC priced, keep that in mind.

Yelp
Extremely expensive for the quantity and quality, subpar and hardly genuine southern BBQ

Yelp
We preferred the prime brisket over the wagyu! The mac n' cheese was spot-on--not too bland or salty. The coleslaw and mango salad were the ideal sides for that tender, juicy prime meat.

Yelp
I actually said, "Gawd Damn" out loud. Best moist brisket and pork ribs I've ever had.
