YUM!!!  We came here on a weeknight with our family of 10 (two small children included) and the ladies were so nice! There were what seemed like one lady to be working the kitchen and one lady working the restaurant taking orders/making drinks. They both did such a wonderful job taking care of us and we did not feel like our service was slow and all our orders were correct! Drinks: the drinks are definitely tequila forward. Nothing fancy about the tequila that is used but I personally like the borracha as my favorite drink. Food: GET A MOLE DISH. The mole is not spicy but it just had such a great deep flavor to it. I opted to get corn tortillas, which I don't normally do, but I am so happy that I did because the corn tortillas were thicker so that they can soak up the mole sauce.  Dessert: all the desserts are so yummy. You cannot go wrong. The Choco-flan was my favorite.  Overall vibe: super cute decor on the inside and has a family owned restaurant vibe! So welcoming

Really nice Mexican Restraurant So usually what has me come back to any restaurant is how clean and professional the vibe is, so come by an try this mexican food.

Six of us came here on Sunday at 6 pm to celebrate my birthday. The place was empty, we had the whole place for ourselves, and that was wonderful for us!! The service was fantastic and the food was excellent. Chips are crisp, thin, and delectable slightly earthy, with corn flavor with subtle spices, served with different moles. I had the enchiladas mole rojo which shared with someone in our group who ordered the enchiladas pipian. Both are excellent choices, I prefer Mole Rojo, and I like bold flavors. Everybody in our group was very pleased with our appetizers and shared ceviche and chorizo queso fundido. Both were plenty for our party of 6. Everyone was happy with their dinner - CAZUELITA DE CARNES, CHILES RELLENOS, Mole Rojo Beef - For the birthday candle, I tried the chocolate tamale with ice cream. Creative, and different, I enjoyed it, and will try something different next time. The combination of corn masa and chocolate was a bit off for me. I don't know why the place was empty, because the food was really good, perhaps because it was Sunday,

Got a take out order or the queso fundido and the appetizer chicken quesadilla. The atmosphere was fun and good when we arrived, and the service was good and everyone was very nice but the food was so disappointing. The I was expecting a dip like queso fundido and I was given just a chunk of meat with the smallest bit of cheese on top in a to go box, it made no sense. The chicken quesadilla was very subpar, below average, not much flavor and just was disappointed especially for $40 worth of food for only two appetizers...

We came here on for our anniversary and it was wonderful! We made reservations but they had plenty of space on a Tuesday evening and we sat outside which was very nice. First they bring you chips with salsa and different moles to try which is so much fun and you also get to figure out which mole you would like with your main. My favorite was the red mole so I got chicken enchiladas with that kind and they were delicious! My husband liked the green mole and got that for his chicken dish. I also liked the green mole and the salsas but the other moles were not for me. The beans were underwhelming in these dishes. We also ordered guacamole and drinks which were all good. I got a margarita and my husband got a michelada. We recommended this place to my parents who didn't like it as much. My dad got the Al pastor and was disappointed but I think he may have ordered the wrong thing.

There are many Mexican restaurants. There are many Mexican restaurants on corners. Mis Moles fulfills these two attributes and is a whole lot more. When you walk in the door you enter a very tidy and colorful interior. There is a bar up front and the dining area is large, colorful and good natural light. The owner, Eufemia is a wonderful lady in a chef's coat that brings fresh tortilla chips and two salsas and three moles. All of them were delicious. The menu is expansive and full of mole plates. We had the enchiladas and the Quesabirria, a fried taco with shredded meat. The plating of the food was well crafted with rice in the shape of a pyramid. Everything was good. This place is really good and highly recommend it.

I was craving mole, and searched best mole in Chicago, Mis Moles came up so we decided to give it a try. Very authentic and they let you sample the moles with some chips before you order. Great homemade chips, homemade corn tortillas, moles were all delicious. I orders the mole verde which was very flavorful and my boyfriend ordered the cochinita pibul. We also ordered the ceviche. Good service and cute little spot.

The moles are so, so good! I look forward to every meal here, and I especially recommend the mole rojo.

It was pretty basic straightforward Mexican. Had chicken mole and a steak dish. My chicken was ok my friend didn't like the steak which was a little on the stingy side. They didn't have a bartender guess it was too early so we had premade margaritas which were ok. They have outside seating and it's nice inside. I used to go here when it was little Bucharest. All in it was ok.

Enjoyed dinner here very much. The food quality is excellent (great guacamole!). The mole is very good, so were the Old Fashioneds. Our server was very welcoming and kind. Great Friday night dinner!

My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant several times but today's dining experience was inconsistent with previous ones. Although the food was highly enjoyable, the service was very disappointing and fell short! Upon preparing to pay our bill, we notified our waiter about a promotional discount and wanted to apply it to our check. As you can see from the photo, the promotional code is clearly applicable & valid for Mis Mole and was purchased via Discounts Dining today. Unfortunately, we were told by waiter that the owner (who didn't even come out to address the matter personally) would not honor the discount--how unprofessional & a lack of credibility. A great product is important, however, if Service is compromised, then the best product means nothing! This compromise has caused my husband & I to reevaluate this business. At the very least, restaurant owner could have addressed the matter personally (as opposed to hiding behind the employee). Not doing the right thing has cost this once deemed a stellar restaurant, one who lacks integrity and honor! Moreover, we will not return here nor will those whom we referred. Profit over people is never the answer!

Three kind of mole!! Wow, delicious food and fast service. It was hard to decide between the three kinds of mole but you get to sample them all with Your chips. Can't wait to come back!

Good but pricey, u could make whatever is on their menu for about half the price. With inflation and rising rent when I came the crowd was definitely like, rich, stuck up ppl, its 5 dollars for ONE taco lol, but I guess that's just how things are becoming thanks Republicans

Our second time here but it was well over a year or more. I remember liking it but WOW this trip was a knockout. Met some friends and maybe we planned a little early because we were the only ones there at 6:30. Usually a warning sign of closures upcoming. Turns out we were there at the Blue Plate Special Hour. By the time the appetizer was cleared the space was nicely populated. The queso fundito with chorizo was much different than I'm used to. It was more of a cheese topped chorizo. Still tasty just....different. I would order it again, since I enjoy low calorie starters...ahem. It's just not my favorite type of fundito. I ordered the tampiquena (mole enchiladas on a flank steak) which was amazingly tender and tasty. Priced right and came with rice and refried. My friends ordered tacos and two mole dishes. One verde and one traditional. They cleared the plates. I'm sure the dishwasher finished early this night since there was nothing to clean from their plates. Great ambiance, fun music and excellent staff. Will be back.... Soon.

This is an amazing family owned restaurant, every dish was prepared with love, stopped in with a group, our drinks were perfectly made with the right amount of alcohol. Every dish we tried was well seasoned and delicious. The ambience was so relaxing and their aesthetic is unique and cute, staff was patient and accommodating & very knowledgeable about their menu. I will definitely be back

TL;DR- go and try their moles! I am typically not a fan of moles but these were so good and I support this local family business! Saw this place listed as best margarita in Illinois from a blog by Yelp. We were up for some margarita on National Margarita Day at another place but made last minute changes to come here after seeing the list. Checked out biz on Yelp and wasn't sure if I can trust the 5 star rating since it's so rare. I had some doubts in my head but after dining here, I give an honest 5 star myself! Drinks- regular margarita $10 I wouldn't necessarily say they're the best I've ever had, but they were tasty. I ended up drinking 3 since I was having a good time! Passion fruit margarita $12 it was too sweet for me so I ordered regular thereafter Service- owner was there alone on the floor since I went fairly early. I can hear her passion with her moles and she took care of us well. Later in the night, her daughter came to help out. They were very friendly and love the pride they have of their own store. I support this family business! Food- chips & salsa (complimentary) i prefer my chips thin so these were perfect. We were served with regular green verde sauce on the side (which I typically love but we didn't even touch it here because the others were so much better!). On a platter of red mole, green mole, and mole. Let me tell you, I'm typically not a fan of mole and would not order it. But these moles were so flavorful. Enchiladas- I wanted to try enchiladas and she even recommended for me to try it with green mole sauce and it was so good! It had an unexpected kick to it but I'd definitely order again. Quesabirria- my friend ordered it and I want to try it next time.

This restaurant used to be wonderful, but I heard they changed owners, and it seems everything changed. We ordered from it. They omitted one of the two main courses we ordered, and when we called to complain they told us they could either refund us (doesn't help the person who didn't get their dinner) or we would need to call grubhub to try and get the item delivered. The queso fundido was gross - almost no cheese and a ton of tasteless chorizo. And my enchiladas were dry and came with the wrong sauce (I ordered red sauce and they made them with mole). Very disappointing.

I need to update my review because the menu has changed. Geno Bahena is no longer associated with Mis Moles, as far as I can tell, and it is no longer a mole focused restaurant (although there are one or two basic mole options). Its more a run of the mill Mexican restaurant now. Steak tacos are OK, margaritas taste too sweet, like they are made from a premix. Its a bummer, but those moles were great while they lasted.

Not recommending at all. Stay away from this place the owner is very greedy and Will add some extra weird charges on the bill.

Good.. minus the hair! ‍ Service was terrible on this day.. we waited a very lo g time for a server to greet us, when they were finally available they greeted the people that came in after us, and those people informed the server that we were first and had not been greeted! The ambiance was UNORGANIZED!

Wonderful food and even better service! I ordered the tacos de asada dinner plate that came with beans and rice. Wonderful tacos - the meat was cooked perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised by the handmade tortillas for the tacos, which were also provided for the other dishes at the table. Very extensive menu as well; it's not every day that you see this much variety in a Mexican restaurant. 10/10, loved it!

I have been wanting to come here for a very long time now, but for some reason I was never able to squeeze this place is. Part of the reason maybe because my wife isn't into Mole that much. So I guess I mainly came to splurge myself. Parking was tough to find so I got worried that the place would be packed, but unfortunately for them; it was a quiet night for them, and fortunately for us, we were able to get seated right away. We started off with their their Sopes Surtidos "Xilonen" appetizer. Once we received these, this place started reminding me so much of Sol de Mexico in Belmont Cragin. And now I know why there is so much resemblance. Sol de Mexico is run by Chef Genos mother. Chef Geno of course worked at Frontera Grill and Topolobampo with Rick Bayless, and his mother was the Bayless nanny. We received 4 little sopes each with a different topping. One was woodland mushrooms with epazote. I was hesitant in even trying these because I've never cared for mushrooms but damn these were so good. The others came with chicken in red mole, Fried sweet plantains covered in sour cream and the other with chorizo and black beans. All where phenomenal and the sope was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered their sopa Azteca. A dark broth with chile pasilla covered in tortilla strips and came with chicken, avocados and cheese. I prefer the more red clearer version of tortilla soup style over this, but it was still tasty. They had four different moles to choose from. I've always been more of a spicy mole guy, so I opted for their mole nego, but I kind of regretted it afterwards because this is the version my mom makes, and I need to start exploring other sweeter moles. I did enjoy the hell out of this mole thought. It was served with grilled chicken and then mole negro and rice and served with warm homemade tortillas. The mole was very flavorful and completed the chicken and rice perfectly. And then you add some homemade tortillas and damn baby! Mexican comfort food at its finest. They do however only give you three tortillas which I thought was weird, but If you need more just ask, and you'll get 3 more warm tortillas in no time. I hope their other moles taste just as good as this one. Their customer service was also fantastic. Our sever was very welcoming and personable. Made us feel right at home and even made us feel good about our food choices. My only complaints, which I won't knock them down for; is their music selection. Went I go to a higher end Mexican restaurant, I want to here some Mexican classics, some mariachi or some banda. But instead they played salsa or merengue. Play some Mexican classics please! My other complaint is that in their restaurant name on the menu, they're considering themselves a tequila and mezcal bar, but their offerings isn't exciting. Very boring simple stuff that I have at home and have no interest buying at a restaurant. I'll be back for the food though!

In town for a visit, and my son brought us here. It's a cute place, that's very colorful. Food is full of flavor and good quality. Presentation is also very nice. I thought portions were small for the price, and that's why I gave it 4 stars as opposed to 5. Service was also very good, even though there was only one server for a relatively full restaurant. All this said, I would definitely return for another meal.

Not you're typical Mexican restaurant! It's hard to explain how rice, beans, cheese, and tortillas can stand out, but I would have to say that this is the BEST Mexican restaurant that I have been to (and that's a tall order coming from someone who has traveled the country for the past 29 years). Everything is truly fresh and homemade. Loved the chips and the variety of accompanying sauces, ranging from mild to hot, appealing to all audiences. My elote was amazing! And my taco dinner (shrimp, asada, and pastor) was cooked to perfection -- not overdone like some restaurants. There was live music to entertain on a Saturday. And the wait staff were very friendly and visible to tend to the packed tables. This was one dinner I don't regret over indulging. No take home tonight!

Good value traditional authentic Mexican food. Tastes like home cooking. Service was also great. Will definitely be back.

Ceviche is made with pineapple i $16.99 We had chiles rellenos $15.99 Churros are served warm with chocolate $7.99 The service and food was very good. The staff is very attentive had great time. Owner came to the table to make sure we were well taken care of.

This place has super good food and great drinks but the service is hit or miss ! Nice place if you want to go out of the typical taco place. My big gripe is that there is no changing table ! I had to change my daughter on a bench outside of the bathroom . I'd love to return but unfortunately I'll know if I have my kids I cannot .

Came here for my birthday. Worst experience ever. The food portions were so small. Not worth the price. Food was very cold. Plates were dirty from table before we ate. Never coming back. It used to be good idk what happened.

A friend and I visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The food was outstanding. The owner/chef came to our table with salsa and different mole sauces. They were amazing. She spoke about the different types of food with the knowledge of one who loves creating wonderful food. The customer service was excellent. The ambiance was delightful. I am returning with other friends. I highly recommend this place.

I always drive by this restaurant on work and thought it looked so quaint so finally decided to give it a try and oh boy was it worth it! Friendly service give the feeling of family and a relaxed atmosphere. Bonus-on the night I came in there was a live guitarist for the evening. The food and drinks were amazing, good portions, and very well priced. I ordered the tampiquena! My steak was tender, cooked perfectly and delicious! They give you a sampling of the moles to try at the start which was fun to taste and choose! I will most absolutely return! 5/5!

Wow! I feel like I stepped into an episode of "Parts Unknown" you absolutely have not lived until you've tried their food. Tender , juicy , flavorful arrachera. The cochinita pibil was to die for. Tender spicy, flavorful, lean but not dry. And the ultimate highlight birria tacos are succulent spicy heaven. The mole's outstanding. The first mole I've ever liked , let alone eating and loving all three . The handmade corn tortillas were soft pillows of deliciousness. 5 stars was a no brainer. Go to this place . Oh and the margaritas all handmade and strong . FANTASTIC. I can barely function after the mind blowing lunch I just had .

Loved the live music (violinist), friendly staff and yummy food. We ordered Sopas for an appetizer and split it between 4 of us. We then ordered Puerco al Pasilla -pork chop, Arroz a la Tumbadal -seafood rice, Callos de Hacha en Xikil Pak - scallops and Carne asada. Everyone loved their dishes. We also ordered 4 desserts and the best one was Tamal de Chocolate. 100% recommend. The owner also offers a bonus "blessing" in the end, which is a shot of a spirit. Very smooth! Will definitely be back and highly recommend to everyone. Parking was very easy to find on Sunday evening too

Four of us had dinner recently at this family-owned spot on Elston. After delivering chips with tres moles and taking our cocktail orders (margaritas and palomas), family member and server Julio walked us through the menu. We kicked things off with luscious guacamole and terrific tostaditas--the latter a great way to sample chicken, beef, and pork. For our main, each couple split their own order of the "kitchen sink" molcajete de carnes-cielo, Mar y Tierra, a combo of chicken, steak, shrimp, and sausage. Neither couple could finish theirs. Multiple baskets of the homemade corn tortillas didn't help--it was nearly impossible to avoid filling up on them. Gracious service, delicious drinks, exceptional, higher-end food--what's not to like?!

A random find from wandering around off Addison when the southbound Blue line train stopped operating at the Addison stop. They were able to customize margaritas which tasted yummy. Great food. Loved mole samplers came with chips. Seafood perfectly cooked in broth. Would recommend!

Sweet little authentic traditional Mexican restaurant tucked on Elston in Avondale Family & WOMAN owned biz, Blanca (owner) her mom & daughter Nicole were bustling around , shaking up FANTASTIC fresh fruit Marg's & serving up some of the best Molé sauces and delicious fresh hot homemade food I have had an a Mexican restaurant in a long time! Service was great, restaurant was medium size, nice & nothing fancy clean and bright. But it was Blanca's warm greeting and serving us fantastic margaritas and really delicious food at the bar that will keep us coming back! Happy to see them doing so well although we arrived @ 8 on a Friday evening & no wait. Great neighborhood addition to fun Avondale!

Best fajitas I've ever had in any state!!! quality steak, delicious sauce, plus all the sauces and variety they give you to use on your fajitas. The chips were absolutely fresh and tasty. Nothing plain or common about them. A nice quiet patio with Mexican music playing in the shade. Very appreciated... our little Doug Bristol got to join us. It was very welcome to here with a water bowl. we split an incredible fajita with all sides added to it, for what it cost for me to make a meal at home.

My brother and I had a fantastic dinner at Mis Moles tonight. We started with the albondigas served in a delicious creamy red sauce with the MOST divine, homemade corn tortillas. We both ordered mole entrees for our main courses (verde and negro)...we joked with our incredibly friendly and attentive server how I may buy the moles, take them home and try to pass it off as though I brilliantly pulled together sauces with such complex flavors and aromas. Both were outstanding. We also loved our choco-flan. The owner is a charmer. Everyone took great care of us. Hats off to the chef and entire Mis Moles team. Thank you for a great meal, we needed it.

Went for dinner after reading other Yelp reviews. Food was fantastic. Nice upscale place, very romantic. It was Saturday night and they had a guitarist playing low key music. Wonderful food! The homemade tortillas are the best I've ever had, and I love that they let you sample their mole flavors before ordering. Their cocinita pibil is delicious also. The service can be slow sometimes but they are so nice and helpful. Just don't go when you're in a hurry.

We've been wondering about this new restaurant in our neighborhood ever since they opened and WHAT A DELIGHTFUL SPOT! Full disclosure, we only went in because our favorite margaritas place was closed but we stumbled in for dinner and was so pleasantly surprised. I dont know too much about moles and everytime I've tried, I either liked it fine or was disappointed. But since this establishment was named after this sauce, we asked about it. The owner was so kind to provide a small tasting plate to try all three: Rojo, negro, and Verde. All absolutely delicious and interesting. It was hard to choose. I got the lamb shanks with Rojo and my husband got the duck breasts with negro. So good. Absolutely will be back and will bring friends. (The margaritas were also delicious.) Good price for a stellar meal. Please visit because it is such a charming, inviting restaurant where the owners and chef truly care about the quality of their food. Glad it is in our neighborhood!!

Super delicious food! Good portions! Friendly staff! I came here for a date with my hubby and it was worth the trip! I had skirt steak dinner and it was so good. Husband has been trying to find good cochinita pebil for years but no restaurants has offered it until now. He was so happy, and he enjoyed the dish. It was all well cooked. Moreover, the waiter brought us chips with various kinds of salsas and moles for us to sample. I loved the green salsa the best! Compliments to the restaurant and their new management!
