465 Bar and Restaurant

Had to travel to Boston for business, but wanted to stop by the MFA. I went solo and arrived on a Thursday afternoon around 1:30pm. I found the reservation on Open Table and wanted to be prepared, so I went ahead to reserve. However, I didn't really need it. There were more than enough spots. Great food in a tranquil atmosphere. It definitely deserves more credit than what's on Yelp. I did noticed another table got bread while I was waiting on my entree, so service could be inconsistent and the food does take time, but definitely worth the wait. I spent an hour in the restaurant on an entree and dessert. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice relaxing place to eat a great meal and have enough time to kill.

Had a late lunch here with a few friends and I was not impressed. The menu was very limited and overall not very creative. We had a squash appetizer that was very bland but the beet appetizer was very good. What was most disappointing was the room. It seemed it was thrown together not very "artsie" just bland. Compared to other museum restaurants just boring.

Very friendly service, nice atmosphere and good food. Located inside the MFA (yes you still need to pay for an admission ticket), the restaurant is on the second floor and is nice for a date night or even if you just like to visit the museum. The employees were all very friendly and accommodating. The food was all plated beautifully and tasted amazing. We ordered the dry aged sirloin steak, roasted Japanese eggplant, sriracha dusted chips, spiralized zucchini salad, native fluke crudo, and the grilled swordfish skewer. Would absolutely recommend and order again the sirloin steak, grilled swordfish and zucchini salad. The eggplant was a little over cooked but still good, the fluke crudo wasn't anything special but very photogenic, and the sriracha dusted chips could have used more sriracha but was very good for a chip we were just expecting more flavor. The grilled swordfish was absolutely amazing, and the salsa verde sauce that comes with it was to die for, I wanted to buy just that sauce to take home. The sirloin was just as fabulous and would definitely recommend! The wine prices are astounding. Like anywhere, a glass of wine on average is about $12-15, but the bottle prices were all around $30, very reasonable and surprisingly low

Could not wait to try 465 bar and restaurant after a long renovation. Decoration and ambiance was nice for diner. Dishes were tasty as usual, even better than previous Bravo restaurant. We ordered four small dishes and one large dish for two person. Will come back to try other dishes.

I used to dine at Bravo as a special treat once in awhile and also enjoyed bringing family and friends. After a pleasant visit to its successor, 465 Bar and Restaurant, I look forward to continuing this tradition. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, the location is superb, and the service is welcoming. The dishes I tried were fresh and flavorful. After a leisurely meal, I enjoyed roaming the museum and reviewing my favorite paintings.

Stopped for a quick breakfast; it wasn't quick or cheap, but the food was delish! Croque madame, crab Benedict, and skillet quiche with a side of bacon all lovey.

We were fans of Bravo at the MFA. We thought that we would try the new 465, while there was a discount for MFA members. However the service was slow and the menu eclectic. Arrived on time and quickly got our water. However, it took 15 mins to take a drink order and then another 15 for them to arrive. The menu seems to struggle between tapas and a few large plates. Not sure how this will play for both lunch and dinner. Liked Brave. Cannot say the same about 465. Will keep tabs of the menu. When it changes, I will consider going back.

I got a croque madame, which was tasty. But it is, after all, a ham and cheese sandwich. With an egg. It's hard to mess up. The price was a bit much, the ambience was nice enough, and the beverage, a strawberry mocktail, was mostly ice. The service, though, was the real drawback. It was very bad, especially for the price. We had to keep reminding them, they forgot things, it was sub-par. We were there for brunch, but it wasn't like the place was full, or understaffed. I'm tempted to give the place two stars for the service, but perhaps we just got them on an off day.

A new fresh look for the old Bravo restaurant at the MFA offering great cocktails and amazing food. Loved the Cucumber Martini. The Sriracha Chips are a must, the Sous Vide Watermelon served as sashimi was outstanding and the Pan Roasted Salmon was excellent.

The decor of this replacement for the former Bravo restaurant is brittle and jarring--too many styles giving an uncomfortable appearance. The banquettes left over from Bravo are pleasant but the balance of tables resembles a cafeteria or children's space. The small plates menu is limited and pricey especially since one must pay for MFA admission to reach the second floor restaurant. The food and service were decent but not a destination restaurant.

We got there and the hostess put us at an inside table. We asked if we could be seated outside and the manager (Michael) came over and told us we didn't want to because it was too windy. We had just come in from outside, so we didn't think so, but we didn't want to fight him about that. A minute later, a server came over to us and pointed over to a different table and told us that that table is more comfortable, and we could move there, so we did. Michael then came back and said, "You guys can't be here. You can't just move on your own!" It was so awkward because we didn't move there on our own - we were told to move. He continued to tell us that there were reservations for this new table, and that we weren't supposed to be there. He made us feel bad the whole time we were seated, and we even offered to move back, but he obviously begrudgingly told us to stay. We overheard him throughout the night chastise his employees over this, and over numerous other things, making the entire dinner extremely uncomfortable.
