LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Yakult ice cream sounds delicious (and oddly breakfast-y), and it’s among the many creative flavors at Arcadia’s 626 Ice Cream. This is the company’s first brick-and-mortar after operating as a pop-up for a few years, and its scoop line-up includes various LA-inspired creations. Expect lychee, hojicha, and mango calamansi that you can top with Tajín and chamoy.  " - Sylvio Martins

This Whimsical New SGV Soft Serve Shop Whips Up Nostalgic LA Flavors | Eater LA

"After years spent as pop-ups, freezer-section pints, and a restaurant dessert option around Los Angeles, 626 Ice Cream finally has a permanent Arcadia home, taking over the longstanding Ace Frozen Yogurt space on East Duarte Street. Launched in 2020 by Amber Tan and Waldo Yan, the shop translates their LA-inspired, autobiographical flavors—past creations have included burnt honey and barley and coconut pandan—into an all-new soft-serve format while honoring former owners Il Yong “Jay” Chung and Soo In Lee by keeping the soft-serve machines that served the business for more than two decades. Made with whole milk from Driftwood Dairy in El Monte, the opening lineup includes lychee strawberry, black sugar vanilla made with Tahitian Gold beans, mango calamansi, malted chocolate, hojicha, and Yakult (the probiotic drink Tan and Yan grew up consuming), with toppings such as hawthorn flakes, chamoy, Tajin, sprinkles, and Oreos; single servings are $7.25 and a trio of toppings is $1.75. The shop will introduce new flavors periodically—some with special paired toppings—and will soon add unsweetened cold brew teas, cold brew coffees, and pre-packed pints for take-away or to enjoy in the dozen or so seats. 626 Ice Cream is located at 160 E. Duarte Road, Ste. E, Arcadia, CA 91006 and is open noon–11 p.m. on weekdays, noon–midnight on weekends, and closed Tuesdays." - Cathy Chaplin

Google
Will be back here for sure! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it definitely lives up to the hype. Not only was the ice cream absolutely delicious, smooth, and not too sweet, but the service was great. Very kind and caring employees. (who shared almost too much about each flavor 😅) definitely come with friends and hangout! It’s also pretty expensive for ice cream, but I think it’s worth it for a treat like this.

Google
This is actually an incredible ice cream shop. The first thing you notice is the fantastic vibe, lots of cool decorations in a dimly lit setting that makes it super chill to hang out at night. They only have a handful of flavors all of which are delicious. There are also lots of toppings to choose from that add that little extra to the ice cream. Staff are super friendly and helpful, the samples are also much larger than most other ice cream shops. Overall a really great place to hang out for ice cream.

Google
626 Ice Cream is a fun and funky and eclectic place. They had music playing outside with small plastic chairs and limited seating inside. Oh and they serve unusual flavored ice cream. They also have non dairy ice cream as well for those that are lactose intolerant. It was quite tasty ice cream and recommended.

Google
First time visiting and I did not regret one bit for coming in early to be one of the firsts in line to take a cup of their soft serve! Got the chance to try their Mandarin and Malted chocolate and Black Sesame flavor and it is packed with uniqueness! Loved every bite of it! The only thing missing is the chewy-ness to the black sesame. That would’ve been extra good personally speaking. But the thickness of the malt chocolate, excellent! The sourness of the mandarin, excellent! Brilliant flavor choices! Would have to come back another time to try their other flavors whenever they come out new ones :)

Google
HEAVENLY. As my coworker says: "It's like the best ice cream, and I love how nice they are." Or my other coworker: "Yeah and you can tell they really care. The flavors are so delicate...AND THE MUSIC VIBES." Yeah it's pretty great y'all readers should deffo give it a try.

Google
In this extreme summer heat the line is out the door and into the parking lot to order this tasty soft serve. Flavors are original and you can get a cup with different flavors to compliment each other. We definitely liked getting one tart fruity flavor along side their vanilla serve. The Yakult was on the tart side. So it didn't taste as great with a fruit flavor. By itself, it was good though. Great place to go for original tasty ice cream. Unfortunately it's only open weekends. Some seating inside, but because it's so popular, you prob can't find indoor seating, but exit the establishment and they'll have some plastic stools out front that you can sit on and enjoy your cool dessert. Oh, and remember to grab some if their free stickers on the counter. Servers are super nice and you can do a taste test of whichever flavors you want before you order. Great place!

Google
Love the vibe! First time there, I went for black sesame which I personally did not like, it was very bitter and reminded of Chinese medecine for some reason and I couldn’t finish it. I was expecting something more nutty but It was my mistake for not tasting each flavor. For my second time, I went for yakult and milk flavor which I loved. Staff was very helpful too! Definitely taste test each flavor to find your match, and I didn’t know the first time but you can choose two flavors.

Google
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the Ube Vanilla soft serve since my visit. What stood out the most was the silky texture. The creaminess blended well with the deep, earthy flavor and, when paired with the sweet, floral vanilla, was absolutely addicting. They were out of the lychee strawberry flavor, but I wanted to try that. The Yakult soft serve was yummy though. Quite tart. We were fortunate because there was no line when we walked in. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and professional. She guided us through their flavors and let us try some samples before we decided what we wanted. Seating was limited, but we managed to find a table. As soon as we sat down, I thanked my lucky stars because a line formed at the door. It was nice being able to enjoy my ice cream inside. The dim, warm lighting and chill music was comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I've been here about 3 or 4 times, and love the creativity they have. There also aren't a lot of places that specialize in soft serve, so it's a nice light treat. There's usually a bit of a line, but it's very worth it. The staff really gives your party personalized attention and lets you try all the flavors if you want to. Their flavors rotate semi-regularly so it's nice to get to try them beforehand. Their topping selection is really fun and has a bunch of Asian options that you don't see at other shops. In the past I've gotten the hojicha and their ube vanilla (great combo - roasty and earthy). The last time I went about a month ago, I got the yakult and lychee strawberry flavors and topped it with mochi, mango, and a sour plum syrup (iirc). Super tasty ice cream and doesn't feel heavy to eat. The interior is cozy and dimly lit with a few tables inside and stools outside. The staff is the best and incredibly helpful. It's a fun spot to visit after dinner with some friends, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream shop!! I've been coming here for over a year. Lines can get long, so recommend getting here as early as possible--expect a 20-40 minute wait. Friday and Saturday nights are especially busy. The staff here is very sweet and accommodating. They always ask if it's your first time here and if I want to try any samples. All the flavors are good and Asian inspired. My fave combo is yakult + yuzu. My current favorite seasonal flavors are condensed milk and POGM. You can't go wrong with any of the flavors though.

Yelp
The thing that stuck out the most to me is definitely their ambiance! Wow is it vibey and a very cool hangout dessert spot. Not to mention every song I heard in here was a banger (k-rnb) & I want to know the name of every song LOL. They had lots of quirky decor and I loved every part of it! The staff is so patient and accommodating to letting us thoroughly try each flavor they had and I really appreciated their service here too! I ended up getting the black sesame, it was roasted and nutty just how I like it. I enjoy that they explore/experiment with unique asian icecream flavors too! I got a kid scoop which comes with 2 free toppings. It is a little pricey, considering how much you get, but I guess that's the charge to be in a vibey environment haha. A little treat yourself moment is okay sometimes! They have a few seating spots on the inside but it does get a little crowded if you come peak dinner hours. My group managed to grab a seat inside and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I do see myself coming again when I want to show friends a cool unique spot!

Yelp
Kind of too hyped up in my opinion. They yuzu was alright but got too one note. Really wanted to try POGM but they were out. Super packed on a Friday night. One thing we did like was being able to grab a stool and just sit in the parking lot and hang out. Felt like being in Asia. Tons of parking. Very loud inside.
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
Line wasn't that long tonight - got there at 7:20pm and took me less than 30 mins to get inside. They were out of yakult ice cream so I got a combination black sesame and condensed milk in one cup and the yuzu and pog on the other. The condensed milk cut the black sesame taste and the pog was so guava-y. I know my kids want to go try but for me, once was enough. It was a good night to go coz bopomofo was there offering free drinks. If I do go back with my kids, I want to try the yakult one.

Yelp
626 ice cream is a super cool spot. It was definitely a unique ice cream experience- very fun Asian flavors like lychee, yuzu, hojicha, condensed milk, etc. But be prepared to wait! We came on a Friday waited about 30 minutes. Unfortunately they are only open at night. Staff is chill and they let you sample all the flavors until you find your perfect one. Very affordable for unique soft serve flavors too and they include various toppings. It's small and cozy inside but they do have outdoor seating as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance: such a vibe! Vibey RnB playing (think masego) with a dim colored hue for lighting. Service: super nice - got us multiple samples and were very friendly! Food: you're able to get 2 flavors, I got yuzu and black sesame (they were out of the POGM/it was broken, so I'll have to come back for that)
google avatar

Yelp
The workers are really friendly and since it was our first time they gave us samples of every flavor. I was a bit disappointed with the flavors though. They didn't taste special in my opinion and it's pretty pricey. Some flavors were good and others could've have more flavor. Maybe because it's soft serve and not ice cream? Overall good service but not the best Asian flavor dessert

Yelp
I have heard of this place a long time ago. It took me a while to get there because of the opening hours being somewhat limited and I heard there were long lines. One day I was driving by the area and not in a particular rush. Decided to just wait in line. The line definitely looked daunting but I figured it must be great if so many people are waiting for it. I believe the family that runs this place serves soft serve frozen yogurt because the shop previously was a frozen yogurt shop with only equipment in place. Regardless, it tastes like ice cream. I absolutely love the choice of flavors and it was difficult to decide. Even though they were so crowded, the service is super efficient and quick. They let me taste every flavor which surprised me with the line but they did it super quickly. The process of waiting in line was painless because everyone in line was chatting with each other and was so friendly. It was a great time. I went with the lychee strawberry and the pineapple passion fruit, which I never pass up if available (passion fruit). Many people were eating standing in the parking lot. It is just that good.

Yelp
If you're craving uniquely flavored soft serve, this place is a must-visit. Honestly, if I were just driving by, I would never have guessed it's such a popular spot. It's tucked away in the far corner of a random plaza, and you might miss it if not for the music and lights they use to draw attention. I went on a Saturday night, and the line was out the door. The shop itself is tiny. Although it seemed fun and lively, there's not much space to hang out. So either come early or be ready for a bit of a wait if you want to grab a seat. I decided to get mine to go and enjoyed it just outside the building. The staff was super friendly and even offered us samples of their current flavors. Some of the creative ones I tried included misugaru (a nutty Korean powdered grain), POGM (a mix of pomegranate, orange, guava, and mango), and yakult (a sweet, tangy probiotic drink popular in Asia). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for something different!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite spot for soft serve/ice cream. I love their rotating menu with Asian inspired flavors! I've been coming here for a while now and it's so popular there's always a wait. My favorite flavors have been the Yakult and Yuzu, but their newest Condensed Milk may be number one now. It does get quite loud in there with the music, but I always opt to sit on the curb or even in my car. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Looking forward to more flavors!

Yelp
Food: Ice cream tastes amazing. I am not fan of sorbet but this place might make me change my mind. Service: It was my first time and service was wonderful. I tried every flavor and they explain it in details. I guess when it comes to hype on tik tok, 626 Ice Cream is the one to try Ambiance: It's definitely a vibe here. Very mystic vibe and cool hangout spot

Yelp
I love this place! 1. This is the spot for Asian soft serve flavors. They have multiple flavors and toppings to choose from and they change every so often too. 2. The employee that helped us was really welcoming and patient. They helped us with samples and walked us through the menu. I even got stickers at the end. 3. After sampling, we decided to get 2 kid's sizes - the first with POGM and honey misugaru and the second with black sugar vanilla and yakult. Every single flavor is so so good and tastes like real ingredients. I don't get how they do it. 4. The interior is cute and cozy. It's like stepping into a friend's living room. They have a few tables and there's even one with chess. 5. We came right at opening and there was already a line so get here early if you don't want to wait too long.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and I do love the vibes and the service. If you think 626 is a quiet suburbia think again, this place can be packed like a club sometimes, and speakers blasting summer tropical/house music both inside and outside. There are very few tables and seats inside, and people will sit at tables outside. Once at the front of the line, the server will offer samples of each flavor, which change seasonally. I liked both the creamy dairy ones, such as the black sugar vanilla, honey misugaru, as well as the fruity ones like the Mandarin, which were very refreshing. The one downside is that it is quite expensive here compared to other ice cream places, $7.25 for up to 2 flavors.
google avatar

Zinnia V.

Yelp
Asian inspired flavors that are amazingly tasty and very much creamy :3. I got the honey misugaru and ube. I love the honey misugaru as it has a nice nutty flavor and the texture has a bit of grit to it that reminds me of toasted rice! The service is top notch and if you're a first timer they let you sample everything. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking of trying it!
google avatar

Yelp
I've heard so much about this place, I couldn't wait to finally check it out! I went around 11 pm on a Friday, and was surprised when I saw that there was still a line out the door! The staff was super friendly and really made me feel welcome. They even let me sample all the flavors! I'm a big fan of the Asian-inspired flavors, but my favorite was the black sugar vanilla. It reminded me of the delicious black sugar boba drink. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can add some toppings to your order. I added mochi and bulou arare (rice crackers), and they were both amazing. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying their new flavors!

Yelp
Heard about this yogurt shop and I remember when it was ACE Yogurt. The price is premium and the quality is there. There was indeed a line for the yogurt, but it definitely moved fast. The lady behind the counter was helpful and described the flavors to me. Got the following flavors: 1. POGM: Passion Fruit, Orange, Guava, Mango 2. Mandarin Inside there was definitely a club vibe. Made it hard to see my credit card. The flavors were not bad and I enjoyed the two flavors that paired well. I was able to try the Honey Misugaru.

Yelp
Wow. 626 Ice Cream is a newly opened ice cream shop in the 626 area, and it has quickly become my favorite ice cream shop. The bold, unique flavors are amazing. I love their hojicha and matcha flavors, but honestly everything is spectacular. The shop is pretty small, but there are a lot of seats and even provided activities that allow groups to have a good time. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and I always have a great time chatting with them as they give out samples. Overall, my favorite ice cream spot by far, and I cannot emphasize how much I recommend 626 Ice Cream to others.

Yelp
I've heard amazing things about their Asian-inspired flavors so we had to stop by and check it out. We came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday and there was a short line of 5 people ahead of us. There was always a consistent line while we were there, but it does move pretty quickly. Upon entering, their friendly workers gave us a summary of all their flavors. They make everything in house and offered us some samples prior to ordering. We each got an individual cup for $7.75 which can be split in 2 flavors. Unfortunately, we really wanted to try their POGM flavor, so we were a bit disappointed that it was unavailable at the time. I ended up ordering the Yakult and Brown Sugar Vanilla. I did really love the Yakult - it was very refreshing and reminded me of original tart with a slight Yakult aftertaste. The Brown Sugar Vanilla was decent - very sweet but nothing special. If you like sorbet, they have a Mandarin flavor available; however, when I sampled it I thought it was too sour for my liking. They do rotate their flavors as I saw that they had Ube and Matcha previously. I probably would've like these flavor choices more than what was available at the time I came. There are a few tables to sit at inside, and some stools outside as well. The ambience is very retro and as an Arcadia native, I love that they pay homage to the old Ace Yogurt with their decor. We got some free stickers at checkout, which was super cute! I'd come back again next time after checking if they have new flavors that I'd enjoy.

Yelp
Unique fun Asian flavored soft-serve ice cream, that understandably creates a line out the door at its 7pm opening. Finally got to try here after much anticipation. They have a quirky interior with eclectic music and cozy seating. A chess board with two chairs sits there in case one wants to duel while having desert. I appreciate their flavors. I liked their sesame ice cream, which was very authentic and very lightly sweetened. It worked well with some Oreo toppings. Their Honey Misugaru worked well as it was a bit sweeter, which my 3 year old daughter also enjoyed. Overall a great spot to try. A little expensive but not really when you consider some non-unique but similar priced competitors like Pinkberry.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Such a cool spot for friends and catch up over board games. Love the tropical house vibes playing outside the small ice cream shop. Unique "not too sweet" ice cream flavors from black sesame to guava pineapple with various toppings available. Service was great. The most popular flavor is ube vanilla but they didn't have it this time around. Will definitely come back again to try different flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
We got to try 626 Ice Cream tonight and we understand now why the lines are always so long here. Their soft serve is some of the best out there. The unique offering of flavors and very hospitable staff is a combo for success. Lucky for us we came by shortly after they opened. There was a short line and the staff will help to explain their current flavors to new customers. The location has a tremendous aesthetic. A chill place to be with friends and family. The hours are limited and current options were 6 flavors. Regular size is $7.75. Kids size is $6.95. Toppings are $1.95 for 3 choices. Staff allow you to sample the flavors as well. We tried 4 of em and note they do have 2 vegan options. We decided on the Black Sesame and Lychee Strawberry for this visit. It's all good to be honest. You can't wrong with their flavors. Add them to bookmarks and try it out. 626 Ice Cream absolutely lives up to all their hype!

Yelp
I want to start off by saying that I'm never excited for ice cream; in fact, it's probably my least favorite dessert. You could probably imagine the look on my face when my friend group brought up ice cream... reluctantly, I obliged to socialize. 626 Ice Cream is easy to miss; it's pretty low key. Especially from the outside, it neither screams extravagant nor unique. However, upon walking in, I feel like I'm transported into a trendy street in Asia, an alleyway even, with a vibe between arcade and night life. Reality setting in, the staff are super welcoming, and what's more is they are EXCITED to work here. Their energy is quite contagious! What's also special about 626 Ice Cream is the unique flavors that they serve. With our friend group, we sampled all 6 of their offerings. My favorites? Ugh! It's so hard... Honey Misugaru and their Black Sesame... Their Yakult... Or POGM. Every flavor had something to like; it was so hard to decide! Between all flavors, my favorite was their care towards balancing an American "sweet" versus Asian "sweet" - as they say "not too sweet." While I still found them too sweet, they are indeed now my favorite ice cream spot - and I don't even like ice cream!

Yelp
This place has been on my list to visit for awhile now and I would have to say I did not enjoy the flavors but enjoyed the experience overall!. I tasted and got black sesame and honey misugaru. I would have to say black sesame is not what you would expect just because it does have a hint of ginger so it was unexpected and surprising. I guess I was expecting like just a strong flavor of black sesame but what I was told was that The ginger in the black sesame is suppose to represent Chinese tang yuan and The honey misugaru tasted like milk and cereal! Although I did not enjoy the flavors the 5 stars is for the service. Upon arriving they do ask if you've been here before and if not they explain to you the flavors they have at the moment and you get to taste them! You can taste all the flavors they have on deck and the ONE mistake I did was not taste all of them and ordered what I didn't enjoy , so that was MY fault. They really took their time to explain and they were sweet and patient with you regardless if there's a line. They were taking their time explaining without rushing and answered any questions. The place itself is pretty small but they do have seatings inside. Inside gives off a retro night club vibe LOL with cute yet unique Knick knacks all around the shop. They do rotate flavors so I would highly suggest try all the flavors because the opportunity is given, but toppings are extra! Although I didn't enjoy my flavor I do want to come back to try others/different ones.
google avatar

Adeline S.

Yelp
I tried the Honey Misugaru and Yakult flavor! My cousins have been hyping this place up so I've been super excited to try! I thought it was an ice cream place, but it's actually soft serve! That's a YAY for me haha I really like the Honey Misugaru flavor it's def something you can't get anywhere, and the yakult flavor was just the right amount of tart and sweet! Next time I come back I def want to get the ube vanilla flavor. There's that depth to the ube that makes it slightly bitter bringing down the sweetness (good thing) Ambiance was super nice, it's busy and loud so it's perfect for hangouts with friends at night. Super nice vibes with the lighting and decor. Service is awesome, they let me try all the flavors and was super nice about it despite the growing line being us! They only open at night, which is a bummer, and parking is free and plenty!
google avatar

Natsuki M.

Yelp
I love this place - always high quality soft serve with unique Asian flavors that are rare to find elsewhere. Service is off the charts - no matter how many times you've been there, they're always willing to provide samples of all of their current flavors w exquisite descriptions! Ambiance is very moody, well put together, perfect for a casual date. It's pretty intimate with a couple 4 tops and 2 tops and a little bench seating. The only area I see room for improvement is, consider by the price, the toppings could be a little more generous. I know this would require at least one back/forth but if the toppings could be layered into the soft serve so that we can continue to get the toppings throughout and not just to top bites. I completely understand what this doesn't happen bc there's constantly a line out the door and they're just trying to get through the customers as efficiently as possible but it's just a thought. Their topping ingredients seem to be high quality so it's just a shame to only experience them only in the beginning

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The service here was amazing! They were so helpful and knowledgeable about each flavor and what it paired well with. I got the honey misugaru and yakult, and it was the perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and a savory. The vibes were also immaculate!
google avatar

Ashlyn R.

Yelp
Wow, this place is fantastic! I came for a quick bite of ice cream, but this spot felt like an experience! Staff are very friendly and kind when you enter and allow you to try as many flavors as you'd like. I ended up settling on the black sugar vanilla and honey misu-garu. The black sugar vanilla was rich and had way more flavor depth than your typical vanilla! The honey misu-garu had a warm and almost graham cracker like taste. Both were great and I loved that every order includes 3 complimentary toppings. I usually don't stop to eat my ice cream in stores, but there were many places to sit and relax in here and the music was great. Highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back for more!
google avatar

Gerina O.

Yelp
This is a cool little spot in an otherwise not very busy plaza. They have fun seasonal flavors of ice cream that they let you sample. There's also a variety of toppings available like chocolate chips and mochi. The store itself isn't very big and there aren't a lot of tables so it's hard to hang around. But the decor is super cute!
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
This place was such a vibe! I love the interior, it feels like they've put a lot of thought into the place for folks to come chill and eat ice cream. I didn't realize they even had stools set up outside for people to sit and enjoy their desserts. The service was great, as first timers they let us try every single flavor. Our server was hospitable and patient and when we chose toppings, he would ask us if we were okay with the amount--which not a lot of ice cream places do. He really walked us thru each ice cream flavor as we tried the samples! We got to try ube vanilla, the mandarin (I think), yaklut, strawberry lychee and honey something (which tasted like cereal/nutty). All made in house. They were all solid choices! I generally don't go for anything ube but it was so creamy here that I couldn't resist. 10/10 would come again for the ice cream and the vibes!

Yelp
This place is a culmination of decades of culture and community built up in the 626 area and they just happen to be a place that sells amazing soft serve ice cream. The interior is incredibly nostalgic with maximalist decorations with references to growing up in an Asian community in the 626 and providing a homey feel that mimics your grandma's living room. Onto the topic of the ice cream itself, it is no doubt worth the hype. When I used to hear soft serve, I would associate it with just quick simple ice cream but nothing special. This place completely changed my view, I can still imagine the first bite of that ube soft serve wowing me. All the other flavors they have as well are very authentic to their descriptions. They also have an incredible array of toppings not commonly seen in your average ice cream shop, but very welcome. The employees are incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and do not rush you at all if there is something you want to try. Highly encourage all to come here and support their endeavors as well as they are doing a great service creating community that many of us owe our childhoods to!

Yelp
Food****// ordered mandarin and misugaru which both delicious! I also tried yakult which is literally the condensed version of the drink.. too sweet for me but I'm sure lots ppl dig it Service****// I like how they offer samples all at once per group- efficient Asian way that's how I like it. I can't wait online for too long for ice cream place... Ambiance*****// hip, trendy and nostalgia vibe across room. It reminds me of a hide in the valley shop but infused with EDM energy. Cool place and it definitely works well in PR

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night around 9 pm, and at first there wasn't much of a line. Then within 5 minutes, while ordering at the counter, a whole line amassed. So for those that have never been here, the line can get long at night. Anyway, the worker was very nice and let me and my girlfriend sample the flavors we wanted to try, and we settled for ube and lychee strawberry along with mochi topping. The soft serve was very creamy and delicious, and the mochi was chewy and not too sweet, which I like. This place serves the best soft serve in the area (also makes me miss Big Softee in Monterey Park), so worth to check out when craving some ice cream. Overall, a 5/5 soft serve ice cream experience for me.

Yelp
Usually I'm not too big on soft serve, but this place is pretty good! They have Asian flavors, and they let you sample everything. I ended up getting the Ube Vanilla and honey misugaru together. The sweetness of the Ube Vanilla and the roasted flavor or the misugaru really paired well together. You also get to choose 3 toppings! The service was amazing. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Definitely a vibe and can be good for groups! It can get busy on a Friday night, which is when we went. I prefer going on weekday nights, when it's slightly less crowded, but even then there can be a line. There are a lot of stools outside for sitting, and plenty of seating inside if you can secure a spot. There's ample parking in the plaza, and I saw a lot of groups hanging around the parking lot. When you get to the counter, they always ask if you've been there before. They let you sample as many flavors as you'd like, but they will keep asking you if you want to sample anymore flavors, which threw me off. I wish you could sample the flavors one at a time but I understand the need to be efficient when it gets so busy. We got honey misugaru with black sesame and ube vanilla with lychee strawberry. I love how clear and concentrated all the flavors are! Of the flavors we got, I really enjoyed the black sesame and lychee strawberry. This was our first time trying the toppings. I usually don't get toppings with my ice cream but they had so many options that I had to try some. It's hard to view the toppings and choose when it's super busy, but I really liked the red bean oats. It added some extra sweetness and texture to the ice cream.

Yelp
Been hearing about this place forever from TikTok, and knew we had to stop by since we were in the area. PARKING Easy. It's in a plaza with a huge Dollar Tree so tons of spots. THE ICE CREAM Here's what I thought of what was available and we got to sample: - Ube vanilla: Wow, this was AMAZING! The ube flavor really shined through and the vanilla was a great complement. I'm not sure if they used extract, but it tasted way better than other spots I've been to. - Yakult: This was good, but not sure if I'd get it again - kinda tasted like a standard plain sweetened froyo. - Mandarin: Pretty good. Hit the nail on the head in terms of tasting like mandarin - nice and tangy. - Honey misugaru: This was super unique and I ended up getting this for my cup! Nice roasty flavor. - Lychee strawberry: I didn't expect much from this one, but it ended up being so good that I chose this for my cup! It wasn't artificial tasting like some other lychee flavored things I've had. Highly recommend. Note that you get to choose two flavors. They're not swirled, but rather next to each other. THE TOPPINGS I ended up choosing kinako on top of the honey misugaru, and plum powder on top of the lychee strawberry (yes, they can do that!), as well as bubu arare on top of everything. All of these were amazing - would definitely recommend the plum powder on any of the fruity flavors. Note that for the price you get to choose 3 toppings, and it's the same price even if you pick 1 or 2 toppings. SERVICE So wonderful. The staff were happy to answer questions and provide samples, and were very patient with my indecisiveness! VIBES Obsessed. Very Asian American and almost Wong Kar Wai-ish. Smaller shop, but a few tables for small friend groups. I would definitely come back here maybe for a date night. BOTTOM LINE This is definitely a new spot I'd recommend to people. And I'll definitely be back!!

Yelp
It was worth waiting in line, it kinda gets packed but overall the ice cream is so delicious!

Yelp
The ice cream here was so delicious and the store has a nice ambience! There were a lot of unique asian flavors and toppings and they let you try samples of each flavor. The employees were very nice and explained each flavor well. It is a small place so it's a little hard to find seating, but there's extra stools to sit outside. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
I've seen this place everywhere and finally got to try it; it's one of the few places that lives up to the hype! Luckily, we came here without a line and got to try every flavor before choosing. Their service is welcoming and friendly. Ambiance was great as well; it was giving 'laid back bar' vibes. You choose 2 flavors and 3 toppings. I got their mandarin and vanilla with a few toppings and they were delicious. Their ice cream flavors are so unique but interesting. I'd definitely be back and I recommend others to come and give it a try!

Yelp
626 Ice cream will probably be my go to spot. There is a bit of a wait the later you go, but the line moves fairly quick. Super first time friendly they are able to explain each flavor pretty well and are not shy with sampling. My go to is black sesame and honey with indomie hokkaido powder and dark chocolate. It is on the pricey side especially since this may be the one of the few icecream places where tipping is deserved, but I just see it as a way to not eat icecream as much if I want to save money. There is limited seating so if you do have a big group eating in the car or the lot is your best bet. Overall: Food 4.7/5 Service 5/5

Yelp
constantly changing the menu but the ube was very good i miss it their mandarin orange was also super yummy and flavorful without a super tart flavor, it was pretty smooth without being milky yakult is similar to a tart flavor honey was too sweet/warm for my liking overpriced for sure i usually come here and drop $20 for 2 ice creams there is no seating so expect to eat standing or in ur car but the vibes are super cool the lighting is really nice, provides a great vibe the customer service is helpful with a side of i'm judging your for how many flavors your asking to try because the line is so long weird hours but it fits the vibe i want to try their matcha so bad! their mochi is nice and fresh/soft too

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the area, I always hit up 626 Hospitality Group. It gets super packed, we arrived 5 minutes after opening and there was already a line and people inside eating. First up, the Condensed Milk ice cream: super creamy, rich, and subtly sweet. It's a nostalgic flavor that reminded me of the sweetened milk desserts I grew up eating. The POGM by itself was refreshing and tart. Then we also tried the POGM with the Condensed Milk which was a game changer. The tropical tart taste of the POGM (passion fruit, orange, guava, mango) balances great with the sweetness of the condensed milk. Super friendly staff and free samples available upon request. Yakult and Yuzu flavor were unavailable due to problems with the machine, so definitely will come again to try it.

Yelp
Best ice cream I've ever had! Such unique Asian inspired flavors that taste super authentic and reminiscent of their model flavors. Had the black sesame and black sugar vanilla flavors and they were delicious! Well worth the hype and the long lines. Seating area inside is very limited but the store has chairs/stools you can use to sit outside.

Yelp
Nice little dessert spot off the beaten path in the northern part of Arcadia. Not quite the hole in the wall, but pretty modest both on the outside and on the inside. This used to be a family-owned ice cream shop, but it was bought by its current owners a few years ago. They kept the soft serve machines to churn out their pretty unique, Asian-inspired flavors. Everything is made from scratch, with nothing artificial, as it was explained by Waldo, one of the co-owners. Inside is quite comfortable and inviting. The folks running the counter were super positive and welcoming. Don't be afraid to ask questions at all because I'm certain you'll have some as I did. The current lineup has six soft serve flavors to choose from. I naturally had to get the vanilla ube. Waldo recommended the honey misugaru. He explained it as being like a Korean cereal. Couldn't resist that at all. I got both. Toppings are plentiful and too much to list, so I went with some mochi and this Japanese powdery topping that I can't recall what it's called. Needed some texture, so the ever-helpful Waldo recommended the indo-mie - basically dehydrated instant noodles. That combo surprisingly worked well with the soft serve, which was super creamy, smooth, and not too sugary. All the flavors did come through, especially the cereal taste that was described by Waldo. This is a really good find in the ever-crowded ice cream market in these parts. I'm sure in a few years they will outgrow the location and expand. Maybe out into the Valley and call it 818 Ice Cream?

Yelp
Insane creamy ube vanilla soft serve from a very cute and very vibey establishment. There is usually a line in wait to get inside the shop, but while you wait, they have chill house music playing on the outside of the shop. Once you get in, the inside is so cute and curated with a few tables and benches for seating, but they also have stools for outside. The service is so nice too, they always let you try samples, and every flavor is pretty quality. I tried the lychee strawberry soft serve as well, and I usually don't like fruity soft serve or sorbets, but that was so good I had to get it along with the ube vanilla. I will say the price is pretty steep if you get the toppings (the last time I was there, I got a kids size for $9.25 with three toppings). The toppings are super worth it though, they really add to the flavors and texture.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my sister and a friend. I followed them on Instagram for a while so I knew what the inside sort of looked like but it was a lot cooler and well fleshed out in person. We went on a Friday night and there wasn't a line when we got there but after there was one. The workers there are really nice and explains all the flavors to you and lets you try them before choosing. I ordered the lychee strawberry and honey misugaru. It was very delicious. I didn't want any toppings because I wanted to enjoy the icecream itself. Just a heads up the music does get pretty loud and when there's tons of people in there it can be overstimulating. But it's a cool place to hangout with friends and chat. They also have plastic chairs for you to sit outside since there's limited seating inside. Would come back if I'm ever in the area.

Yelp
(IG: foodwithdeni) #dEATs Few months ago we visited this iconic spot in the 626 for frozen yogurt and we were impressed. We've seen this place on socials and always see great reviews! @626hospitalitygroup We ordered Ube, Lychee Strawberry, Yakult & Hojicha and of course added so many toppings Be prepared to wait and make sure to try samples before ordering! The staff were super helpful and made ordering so easy. There were some seats inside and parking lot available. I'm not sure if these flavors are there or they rotate with new ones so check out their IG for an updated menu

Yelp
The staff are so nice and let you try every flavor if you want! Their flavors are seasonal so rotate monthly. The highlight for our visit was the black sugar Tahitian vanilla that tasted like brown sugar boba!

Yelp
We went around 10pm and were surprised that there was a line! It moves a bit slow since everyone is sampling everything. Their ice cream and ambiance makes up for their long line! We both got Black Sugar Vanilla and it's the perfect sweet treat to end the day! It's not too sweet or heavy. We sat inside and it felt like we were inside a bar. I love their soft lighting and enjoyed their music.
