LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Yakult ice cream sounds delicious (and oddly breakfast-y), and it’s among the many creative flavors at Arcadia’s 626 Ice Cream. This is the company’s first brick-and-mortar after operating as a pop-up for a few years, and its scoop line-up includes various LA-inspired creations. Expect lychee, hojicha, and mango calamansi that you can top with Tajín and chamoy.  " - Sylvio Martins

This Whimsical New SGV Soft Serve Shop Whips Up Nostalgic LA Flavors | Eater LA

"After years spent as pop-ups, freezer-section pints, and a restaurant dessert option around Los Angeles, 626 Ice Cream finally has a permanent Arcadia home, taking over the longstanding Ace Frozen Yogurt space on East Duarte Street. Launched in 2020 by Amber Tan and Waldo Yan, the shop translates their LA-inspired, autobiographical flavors—past creations have included burnt honey and barley and coconut pandan—into an all-new soft-serve format while honoring former owners Il Yong “Jay” Chung and Soo In Lee by keeping the soft-serve machines that served the business for more than two decades. Made with whole milk from Driftwood Dairy in El Monte, the opening lineup includes lychee strawberry, black sugar vanilla made with Tahitian Gold beans, mango calamansi, malted chocolate, hojicha, and Yakult (the probiotic drink Tan and Yan grew up consuming), with toppings such as hawthorn flakes, chamoy, Tajin, sprinkles, and Oreos; single servings are $7.25 and a trio of toppings is $1.75. The shop will introduce new flavors periodically—some with special paired toppings—and will soon add unsweetened cold brew teas, cold brew coffees, and pre-packed pints for take-away or to enjoy in the dozen or so seats. 626 Ice Cream is located at 160 E. Duarte Road, Ste. E, Arcadia, CA 91006 and is open noon–11 p.m. on weekdays, noon–midnight on weekends, and closed Tuesdays." - Cathy Chaplin

The owners were the sweetest and answered questions quickly. I loved the space so much I ended up talking to Amber since the place is so obviously carefully curated. If you have the time I would definitely recommend stopping by! I chose the ruby apple and chamoy gummy bears and it was perfectly sour for me!! They do everything they can in house including creating their own chamoy recipe and it is absolutely delicious!! The ruby apple is the only dairy free option for now but with continued support from the community I can see them expanding as much as they aspire to:)

Google
This is actually an incredible ice cream shop. The first thing you notice is the fantastic vibe, lots of cool decorations in a dimly lit setting that makes it super chill to hang out at night. They only have a handful of flavors all of which are delicious. There are also lots of toppings to choose from that add that little extra to the ice cream. Staff are super friendly and helpful, the samples are also much larger than most other ice cream shops. Overall a really great place to hang out for ice cream.

Google
First time visiting and I did not regret one bit for coming in early to be one of the firsts in line to take a cup of their soft serve! Got the chance to try their Mandarin and Malted chocolate and Black Sesame flavor and it is packed with uniqueness! Loved every bite of it! The only thing missing is the chewy-ness to the black sesame. That would’ve been extra good personally speaking. But the thickness of the malt chocolate, excellent! The sourness of the mandarin, excellent! Brilliant flavor choices! Would have to come back another time to try their other flavors whenever they come out new ones :)

Google
In this extreme summer heat the line is out the door and into the parking lot to order this tasty soft serve. Flavors are original and you can get a cup with different flavors to compliment each other. We definitely liked getting one tart fruity flavor along side their vanilla serve. The Yakult was on the tart side. So it didn't taste as great with a fruit flavor. By itself, it was good though. Great place to go for original tasty ice cream. Unfortunately it's only open weekends. Some seating inside, but because it's so popular, you prob can't find indoor seating, but exit the establishment and they'll have some plastic stools out front that you can sit on and enjoy your cool dessert. Oh, and remember to grab some if their free stickers on the counter. Servers are super nice and you can do a taste test of whichever flavors you want before you order. Great place!

Google
Will be back here for sure! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it definitely lives up to the hype. Not only was the ice cream absolutely delicious, smooth, and not too sweet, but the service was great. Very kind and caring employees. (who shared almost too much about each flavor 😅) definitely come with friends and hangout! It’s also pretty expensive for ice cream, but I think it’s worth it for a treat like this.

Google
This ice cream was so good I had to buy another round before finishing my first cup. In total, I got the condensed milk, POGM, Yuzu, and chocolate mint. There was something special about each flavor that I had never tasted in any other ice cream. The condensed milk tasted like pure, unadulterated condensed milk. If you like vanilla flavors, you'll like this. The POGM was a fruit bomb. Every flavor could be tasted and the sweetness was perfect. The yuzu was the purest tasting yuzu I had ever tasted. I've never bitten into a yuzu before, but I imagine it would taste something like this ice cream. If you like tart and acidic flavors like me, you'll like this. I don't know what kind of mint they used, but I really liked the flavor of the mint. This definitely isn't the same mint chocolate ice cream you'll find at any other ice cream store. The workers were spectacular too. I imagine it's super tiring to to this for everyone, but the female worker basically gave a speech on every flavor. I really appreciated the time she took to make sure I was happy with my choices. The vibe of the ice cream shop is super unique. I've got a newborn now, so I can't imagine hanging out here, but I love how it felt like a bar. Lights were dim and the music was loud, but not so loud that I couldn't hear the person next to me.

Victoria R.

Google
HEAVENLY. As my coworker says: "It's like the best ice cream, and I love how nice they are." Or my other coworker: "Yeah and you can tell they really care. The flavors are so delicate...AND THE MUSIC VIBES." Yeah it's pretty great y'all readers should deffo give it a try.

Google
Ice cream 626 is an immaculate place full of wonders, creative and unique flavors that make your taste buds twirl through the night. The staff are especially nice and welcome you with open hearts. The vibe is so chill and unique it feels so homey. This place is way better in all ways of ice cream than any other shop. Ice cream enthusiasts come here and enjoy this beautiful shop. I deserve a free Ice cream. Thank you for being so close to my area.❤️

Yelp
Been to 626 ice cream a good amount of times now and I love it! My favorite flavors has to be the light fruity flavors, such as the yakult and yuzu. I just personally love how refreshing and not too sweet they are. The toppings are unique and the employees are always very patient when answering all of my questions and giving out samples. The ambiance is cozy, intimate, and cute. It it small though but it's not a big deal because most people just stand and yap outside as well. I wish that they had more rotations of flavors more frequently but overall it never misses.

Yelp
Our daughter came down from NoCal during the Thanksgiving weekend. After a nice dinner at Mother Wolf, she wanted to try ice cream from the viral videos on TickTock We got there around 8:30 PM. There was a line. After 15 minutes, we got our ice cream. I went with the Yuzu vegan ice cream. It had a tangy refreshing taste. DJ's rating: 4.3/5.0 Would I come back? Yes.

Yelp
Parking: large parking lot in the plaza and it was easy to find spaces. Interior: intimate dim lighting, floral aesthetics with a lot of plant decor and very limited seating. Wait Time: Line was not too long but wait was about 10min. Service was amazing with nice staff and they let you sample everything so worth the wait. Items Order: $7.25/ cup/2 flavors 9/10 Ube Vanilla - super creamy. Ube was medium in flavor strength. 9/10 Hojicha - Also creamy and solid in tea flavor. 10/10 Strawberry Lychee - quite bomb. Lychee flavor was bomb. strawberry flavor was a bit lighter but probably because the lychee was strong. 9/10 Yakult - nice and tarty. This and the lychee were super refreshing and fruity.

Yelp
So happy that there's a late night ice cream spot that's open until midnight in Arcadia, when most things close pretty early lol. I came here about 15 minutes before closing and the staff was very kind and didn't rush us at all. The girl at the counter let us try literally every flavor, with such a sweet attitude about it as well. We decided to order the Yakult and Yuzu sorbet. Both of those flavors were light and refreshing! The scoop size was pretty good as well. They let us sit in the store and enjoy our ice cream until midnight, and then invited us to sit at some of the tables outside if we liked. I'm glad they changed their flavors every so often and I'm excited to see what they come up with next!

Yelp
What an absolute gem of a place. I love how fun and eclectic the decor is. The staff were all super friendly. I liked how they let us try every single flavor. Honestly they were all so good and they are doing lots of creative stuff with these Asian flavors. The yuzu and POGM were super refreshing and not too sweet. They constantly rotate their flavors so I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
This soft serve ice cream place is very cool and trendy. I enjoy coming here for the ice cream myself and to recommend this place to others who have not been here before. There are a few tables inside but can be easily filled up, and there are chairs stacked outside. Staff are very nice, patient and friendly here. They allow you to sample all flavors before buying. Their Asian inspired flavors are unique and fun, all house made. The texture is creamy and smooth. They also offer a variety of toppings from mochi, sprinkles, gummy bears, oreo, etc The day I went they offered 6 flavors which were all really delicious. Ube vanilla is a favorite among all my friends. I personally like the POGM (passion fruit, orange, guava and mango) for the refreshing and tarty flavor.

Yelp
This is a small mom & pop ice cream shop They're open daily - Mon-Thur - 7-11pm - Fri - 7-12am - Sat - 1-4pm & 7pm-12am - Sun - 1-4pm & 7pm-11pm Parking was decent since there are plenty of parking Pricing was ok. Expect to pay $7.75 (choice of 2 scoops) & choice of 3 toppings for $1.95! Kid's price is $6.95. Service was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I was greeted the moment I entered by a very nice gentleman named Adrian. He was very patient and explained all their flavors are house made. He even offered complimentary samples! There were 6 flavors - Condensed Milk, Passionfruit - Orange - Guava - Mango,Yakult, Yuzu, Ube Vanilla, and Chocolate Mint. There were lots of toppings to choose from, such as mochi, sprinkles, nuts, etc. Seating was limited but there were a few chairs and tables. The decor was very cute and unique! Got the Ube Vanilla and Yakult. The Ube Vanilla was very delicious and creamy! The Ube tasted very rich and not artificially flavored. It wasn't too sweet and it was very refreshing! The Yakult was slightly tarty but very yummy! Really enjoyed how it wasn't too sweet! The mochi topping was very soft and chewy. It tasted very fresh and amazing! Definitely recommend and most likely will return!

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a while, but their hours haven't worked with my schedule. I wish they had earlier weekday openings, but understand it might not be feasible. Perhaps consider it during the summer months. I've seen so many LA foodies and Yelpers here, so I finally decided to try it. Luckily, my son had a baseball game nearby, and we were able to stop in afterward. I was so happy to finally check it off my list. We arrived when they opened and were the first customers of the day. The friendly staff was excellent! Since the frozen yogurt flavors were new to us, they were happy to let us sample them to help us decide. I love their Asian-inspired flavors and the inviting, bohemian atmosphere. It feels like you could relax there all day, but it is a bit pricey, even though I appreciate the unique flavors and variety of toppings. The service was exceptional. I was indecisive about flavor and topping combinations, but the staff was patient and helpful in finding the perfect match. I opted for Mazapan, Cacao Nibs, and Mochi, and I really enjoyed the toppings; they complemented the frozen yogurt well. My son went with hawthorn candy, sprinkles, and gummy bears. I would love to return with my wife, but my son only likes strawberry ice cream, and he didn't care for the frozen yogurt since they didn't have it. I'm not sure when we can make it back, but we would definitely come again.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! It's such a vibe inside, service is great, and the ice cream is SO GOOD. Love Asian flavors in ice cream - like condensed milk! How did no one think of this before?! And yakult was so good. Paired with the crunchy toppings of feuilletine and praline hazelnut. Cherry on top!! (Which that would be sweet if they could add marashino cherries on top lol). Line gets long depending on what time you come in, and the store inside is a bit small so you may not get a seat/table.. there are chairs stacked outside though! Just bring a jacket since it might get chilling. We got there around opening at 7:10pm on a Monday, and were able to get a spot without waiting. I wish they sold their current flavors in pints, but they only have select flavors. This time was the sake kasu, Irish cookies n cream (?), and a chamoy flavor. Will be back and bringing everyone I know here!!

Yelp
Flavors are so unique and delicious. The workers are very attentive and passionate about their craft, giving lots of detail to the different flavor profile and sourcing. My friends got yalkult, which was very refreshing after our kbbq. I got condensed milk and the ube mixed -- probably the best ube flavoring I've had! The ambient lighting and upbeat music is also a vibe. Glad my friends showed me this awesome spot!

Yelp
626 Ice Cream is located in Arcadia. They are known for unique flavors, but my experience was mixed overall. ::Experience:: Expect a long line. This place gets packed, especially at night. The setup is simple and casual, but the wait can feel long if it is busy. ::Ice Cream:: The flavors are definitely unique, which is fun, but not all of them taste great. There are a few flavors I like, but overall I did not love everything I tried. It is more about creative flavors than strong flavor execution. ::Customer Service:: Unfortunately, this was the worst part of the visit. On November 13 at 9:04 pm, we were served by a girl named Jeanine. The customer service was very disappointing and by far the worst I have experienced. She asked what flavor I wanted but did not ask what size, then automatically gave me a large. When I told her I wanted a child size instead, she became visibly upset. Her body language and stare felt very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. When we asked questions about the flavors, her responses were short, rushed, and not friendly at all. It honestly felt like she was either having a very bad day or did not want to help us at all. This was the first time I've had an experience like this. The staff is normally pleasant. ::Rating:: The one star is for the customer service we received. ::M's Notes:: -Limited indoor seating -Chairs available outdoors -Parking lot

Yelp
Visited with my partner on a Friday evening around 8 - 9 PM. This shop was on my try list for a long time and we finally got some time to try it out since we were in the area. First impressions is that the line moves fairly quickly. Plenty of people outside chatting and eating ice cream along with tables inside for people to sit and eat. Not very spacious since it's a small shop. Parking is free in a big lot which is always a nice plus. As with most ice cream shops, you're able to sample the flavors. My partner and I were most excited to sample the condensed milk & we were spot on! It was definitely the one to pick for our first visit as it was just super rich in flavor. Not overly sweet nor flavorless. It's the perfect balance. I would say this is a must try if you're visiting. We also added a Yakult flavor as the 2nd scoop, tasty but not as tasty as the condensed milk & I didn't think it complimented well with the condensed milk. It would be better as a separate flavor. Seems like new flavors rotate once in awhile, we visited in October, if they had a fixed menu, condensed milk would certainly be on the list. Even though they have a selection of flavors to choose from, going early would be ideal if you want to avoid some flavors being out of stock as our visit were. For the price and the portions provided by two scoops, there's certainly comparable spots in other cities with bigger portions for cheaper. Regardless, a solid ice cream spot with plentiful & variety of tasty flavors.

Yelp
The lines started forming behind me. Thanks SGV Passport for the Buy 2 with Topping Get 2 with Topping Free!! It came in clutch with my niece in town! Ordered the following: 1. Yukult 2. POGM Loved the Goji Berry Topping! Overall, it was busy and the ice cream was tasty!

Yelp
Cool space. Really nice worker. Soft serve had great texture. I like the condensed milk, yuzu, and yakult flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
* house-made soft serve is consistently creamy and smooth * asian-inspired flavors are creative and rotate every once in awhile * option to choose up to two flavors (staff is more than happy to offer samples!) and add up to three toppings * only opened late at night on weekdays & late afternoon through the night on weekends * dimly lit and cozy interior with limited seating (though you'll still find a crowd hanging out in the parking lot right outside!) 9/10

Yelp
My current go to when I'm craving ice cream. I feel like the problem with most soft serve is that it's not creamy enough and is always too icy. (Actually same with most regular ice cream). But not here - their soft serve is always perfectly smooth and creamy. Beyond that, their flavors are so interesting and always delicious. Right now they have condensed milk which is absolutely divine...rich, sweet, milky. The POGM and yuzu sorbet flavors are perfect when you want a tart fruity treat. I really miss their honey misugaru flavor and hope that makes a return. Their toppings are also really interesting. I usually go with what they say are their top 3 - feuilletine, arare, and hazelnut prailine, but they also have chamoy gummies, haw flakes, and candy, etc. Everyone who works here always seems so happy to help you. They are cheerful and always asking if you want a sample. The place is small and can get cramped if it's really busy. I usually go on weekdays to avoid the lines, but even the sunday afternoon was not too bad.

Yelp
626 ice cream & hospitality is a vibe! A great spot for friends to hang out at if you're not into drinking but want to enjoy their ice cream and listen to good music. The workers are always so helpful in explaining how it works and providing free samples. The flavors change every season but my favorites so far are the black sesame, hojicha, yakult, and most recently the Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk. Then for toppings: Oreos and mochi bits My wife thought the prices are a bit high for soft serve and toppings but the counter argument in my opinion is that they're serving unique flavors, toppings, while providing the vibes.
google avatar

Hollie W.

Yelp
I love supporting small businesses within my community, so I had to check out 626 ice cream! They offer Asian inspired soft serve flavors with unique toppings! The service is really friendly, and they let you sample as many flavors as you like. The menu is seasonal so it's always changing, which means you have to go if you see a flavor you want to try! The lines can get pretty long if you go on weekends, but it does move relatively quickly. There's some small tables inside to sit and enjoy your soft serve, but it's not great for big parties. The only down side is that it's pretty pricey for dessert.

Yelp
I've been wanting to visit 626 Ice Cream for a while, and am so glad I was able to stop by one recent Saturday evening. When we parked, it looked crowded - there was a huge group of people standing outside hanging out and a line out the door. The three of us (me, my sister, and my four-year-old) stood in line for probably ten minutes and were kept entertained by the crossword puzzle hanging in the window. When we stepped inside the shop, the ambient lighting and artwork on the walls and hobnob furniture made it seem like stepping into a modern bohemian hangout. It was beautiful and cozy and it just set an amazing vibe. The employees were so courteous, knowledgeable on their products, and patient. We asked to sample a couple of their soft serves (condensed milk, yakult, ca phe sua da, and black sesame). The flavors are so unique and I feel like you can tell the intentionality of how they built the flavor profile of each soft serve. I went with the condensed milk and ca phe sua da, my sister did the black sesame and ca phe, and my 4yo had the yakult soft serve. They also offer toppings for free(?), and even those were carefully made with high quality ingredients. I also inquired about catering for an event and received a prompt response. Can't wait to come back to try more flavors and to sit in the vibey shop again!

Yelp
Best ice cream I've ever had. Period! I found 626 at Smorgasburg Ice Cream Alley! I'm vegan and was hoping for one Ice Cream Alley vendor to have a vegan option, 626 had two! I tried POGM then was blown away by Ube Coco and ordered it on the spot. 1000000/10. Try this ice cream. I wish I lived closer and could take everyone I know! Waldo was extremely nice! Joyful, knowledgeable, and grateful! I'm so glad I got to meet him!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I had to stop by while I was visiting the 626 because I love Asian flavors for ice cream/soft serve! I love that they let you sample as many flavors as you like, and the flavors constantly change every season. You can choose two flavors per order, and I got the yakult and POGM (POG mango). They have also toppings that you can add, which adds a nice texture. Overall, it was worth trying, but the service was just okay.

Yelp
Been here a few times now, and it never disappoints! We had a small school gathering here recently and only waited about 10-15 minutes around 7 PM on a Friday as the line moved way faster than expected. Love the vibes, the aesthetic, and especially the creativity with all the Asian-inspired flavors. The staff is super friendly and will literally let you sample every. single. flavor!! My go-to is always the Yakult, and this time I went with Yakult + mochi + a few other fav toppings -- 10/10! Service is fast, and bonus points for the not-too-sweet free stickers at the counter hehe Until next time ;)

Yelp
Love this soft serve cream spot. They feature flavors that rotate every now and then and the staff is always so friendly and helpful to help you decide what to get. Line can get somewhat long but I didn't mind because I like to think it's part of the experience to build up anticipation and excite while catching up with friends (because why else are you getting ice cream at 10/11PM) Some really good flavors I like currently POGM for a nice tart sorbet type and their condensed milk for a nice richy creamy contrast. Honorable mentions for their previous Hojicha offering a nice deep/earthy flavor which provides a nice balance to its sweetness, their Lychee, and the Vanilla black sugar which was so creamy and good. I await their return.
google avatar

Felicia K.

Yelp
The ice cream is delicious. Service is amazing. They're so helpful and kind. They opened up the place a bit so there's seating inside now. Only thing that id say is a negative is the price. I'd love to enjoy their ice cream more but it's a bit out of my price range for ice cream. I can understand why because the quality is so good but I can't afford it in this economy! Once I get my money up, I'll come and support more!
google avatar

Athena W.

Yelp
I've been here about 3 or 4 times, and love the creativity they have. There also aren't a lot of places that specialize in soft serve, so it's a nice light treat. There's usually a bit of a line, but it's very worth it. The staff really gives your party personalized attention and lets you try all the flavors if you want to. Their flavors rotate semi-regularly so it's nice to get to try them beforehand. Their topping selection is really fun and has a bunch of Asian options that you don't see at other shops. In the past I've gotten the hojicha and their ube vanilla (great combo - roasty and earthy). The last time I went about a month ago, I got the yakult and lychee strawberry flavors and topped it with mochi, mango, and a sour plum syrup (iirc). Super tasty ice cream and doesn't feel heavy to eat. The interior is cozy and dimly lit with a few tables inside and stools outside. The staff is the best and incredibly helpful. It's a fun spot to visit after dinner with some friends, and I'd definitely recommend it.
google avatar

Marian X.

Yelp
Smooth, creamy, and Asian inspired flavors ice cream. You have the option to pick 2 flavors and add up to 3 toppings with an extra cost of $1.95. The staffs are happy to and encourage you to samples before making the selection. The store is dim and cozy interior. There's a short wait, but the line moves quickly. The are a few seating outside. The parking lot is large and spacious. Be mindful with the late opening time. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends at night or a late night sweet spot.

Yelp
As always, I'm OBSESSED with 626 Ice Cream! I was so sad to hear from their instagram they're discontinuing their black sesame flavor so I drove all the way here to eat it before it leaves. Sabrina was an excellent employee and was so kind! Her customer service was so warm and thoughtful I really appreciated how she went out of her way to improve my experience. I got the Black Sesame and Condensed Milk flavors. So yummy! I love the thickness and strong flavors. 626 Ice cream really never disappoints.

Yelp
The thing that stuck out the most to me is definitely their ambiance! Wow is it vibey and a very cool hangout dessert spot. Not to mention every song I heard in here was a banger (k-rnb) & I want to know the name of every song LOL. They had lots of quirky decor and I loved every part of it! The staff is so patient and accommodating to letting us thoroughly try each flavor they had and I really appreciated their service here too! I ended up getting the black sesame, it was roasted and nutty just how I like it. I enjoy that they explore/experiment with unique asian icecream flavors too! I got a kid scoop which comes with 2 free toppings. It is a little pricey, considering how much you get, but I guess that's the charge to be in a vibey environment haha. A little treat yourself moment is okay sometimes! They have a few seating spots on the inside but it does get a little crowded if you come peak dinner hours. My group managed to grab a seat inside and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I do see myself coming again when I want to show friends a cool unique spot!

Yelp
Kind of too hyped up in my opinion. They yuzu was alright but got too one note. Really wanted to try POGM but they were out. Super packed on a Friday night. One thing we did like was being able to grab a stool and just sit in the parking lot and hang out. Felt like being in Asia. Tons of parking. Very loud inside.

Yelp
[ Dessert ] If you're looking for a spot with unique flavors then 626 Ice Cream is it! I love their Asian-inspired flavors. The last time I was there, I tried the condensed milk, POGM, and Yakult; all were equally good! [ Service ] Customer service is always good, they're just nice people. On weekdays there's no long lines, but it can get pretty busy on weekends. [ Parking ] Ample parking all around!

Yelp
overall: I keep coming back to try new flavors especially when they change up the flavors. food: this time I got the black sesame and POGM. both were super good and not too sweet! I like that both flavors were strong enough but not too strong. service: service is pretty quick and staff are friendly and they let u try samples of every flavor. ambiance: inside they keep pretty dark which fits the vibe. it gets busy esp weekends so it can be loud. there's a good amount of seating inside but they also have stools u can sit on outside. plenty of free parking in the plaza.

Yelp
Ambiance: such a vibe! Vibey RnB playing (think masego) with a dim colored hue for lighting. Service: super nice - got us multiple samples and were very friendly! Food: you're able to get 2 flavors, I got yuzu and black sesame (they were out of the POGM/it was broken, so I'll have to come back for that)

Yelp
We stopped by 626 Ice Cream for a quick soft serve and had a really good experience overall. We shared a cup and went with yuzu. It was bright and refreshing at first, but I will admit that halfway through I was wishing we mixed in another flavor. Yuzu on its own can be a lot unless you really love citrus. That part is on us. The staff was great. They let us try all the flavors before we ordered, even though we already had an idea of what we wanted. It still made everything feel friendly and easy. Something I thought was really cool was the little machine with dairy pills at the counter. Lactose helpers ready to go. If I am being a little picky, the music was louder than I prefer. Could just be me getting older, but I was definitely doing that lean in a few times. They were also out of Ube Vanilla when we visited, which was the one I was looking forward to, but that is just timing. Overall, it is a fun spot with unique flavors and great service. Next time I am definitely getting two flavors instead of trying to be simple with only one.

Yelp
I have heard of this place a long time ago. It took me a while to get there because of the opening hours being somewhat limited and I heard there were long lines. One day I was driving by the area and not in a particular rush. Decided to just wait in line. The line definitely looked daunting but I figured it must be great if so many people are waiting for it. I believe the family that runs this place serves soft serve frozen yogurt because the shop previously was a frozen yogurt shop with only equipment in place. Regardless, it tastes like ice cream. I absolutely love the choice of flavors and it was difficult to decide. Even though they were so crowded, the service is super efficient and quick. They let me taste every flavor which surprised me with the line but they did it super quickly. The process of waiting in line was painless because everyone in line was chatting with each other and was so friendly. It was a great time. I went with the lychee strawberry and the pineapple passion fruit, which I never pass up if available (passion fruit). Many people were eating standing in the parking lot. It is just that good.

Yelp
If you're craving uniquely flavored soft serve, this place is a must-visit. Honestly, if I were just driving by, I would never have guessed it's such a popular spot. It's tucked away in the far corner of a random plaza, and you might miss it if not for the music and lights they use to draw attention. I went on a Saturday night, and the line was out the door. The shop itself is tiny. Although it seemed fun and lively, there's not much space to hang out. So either come early or be ready for a bit of a wait if you want to grab a seat. I decided to get mine to go and enjoyed it just outside the building. The staff was super friendly and even offered us samples of their current flavors. Some of the creative ones I tried included misugaru (a nutty Korean powdered grain), POGM (a mix of pomegranate, orange, guava, and mango), and yakult (a sweet, tangy probiotic drink popular in Asia). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for something different!

Yelp
Food: Ice cream tastes amazing. I am not fan of sorbet but this place might make me change my mind. Service: It was my first time and service was wonderful. I tried every flavor and they explain it in details. I guess when it comes to hype on tik tok, 626 Ice Cream is the one to try Ambiance: It's definitely a vibe here. Very mystic vibe and cool hangout spot

Yelp
Line wasn't that long tonight - got there at 7:20pm and took me less than 30 mins to get inside. They were out of yakult ice cream so I got a combination black sesame and condensed milk in one cup and the yuzu and pog on the other. The condensed milk cut the black sesame taste and the pog was so guava-y. I know my kids want to go try but for me, once was enough. It was a good night to go coz bopomofo was there offering free drinks. If I do go back with my kids, I want to try the yakult one.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and I do love the vibes and the service. If you think 626 is a quiet suburbia think again, this place can be packed like a club sometimes, and speakers blasting summer tropical/house music both inside and outside. There are very few tables and seats inside, and people will sit at tables outside. Once at the front of the line, the server will offer samples of each flavor, which change seasonally. I liked both the creamy dairy ones, such as the black sugar vanilla, honey misugaru, as well as the fruity ones like the Mandarin, which were very refreshing. The one downside is that it is quite expensive here compared to other ice cream places, $7.25 for up to 2 flavors.

Yelp
Great! This place is a one of a kind- very unique shop. It's delicious, gourmet Asian flavored ice cream shop with a night time lounge vibe. Low lights, low lounge tables, club music! What a great idea! I had the yummy POGM (passion fruit, orange, guava & mango). & Yakult flavors. Tasted the Yuzu which was also good & tart! Gotta try this one!

Yelp
626 ice cream is a super cool spot. It was definitely a unique ice cream experience- very fun Asian flavors like lychee, yuzu, hojicha, condensed milk, etc. But be prepared to wait! We came on a Friday waited about 30 minutes. Unfortunately they are only open at night. Staff is chill and they let you sample all the flavors until you find your perfect one. Very affordable for unique soft serve flavors too and they include various toppings. It's small and cozy inside but they do have outdoor seating as well.

Yelp
Unique fun Asian flavored soft-serve ice cream, that understandably creates a line out the door at its 7pm opening. Finally got to try here after much anticipation. They have a quirky interior with eclectic music and cozy seating. A chess board with two chairs sits there in case one wants to duel while having desert. I appreciate their flavors. I liked their sesame ice cream, which was very authentic and very lightly sweetened. It worked well with some Oreo toppings. Their Honey Misugaru worked well as it was a bit sweeter, which my 3 year old daughter also enjoyed. Overall a great spot to try. A little expensive but not really when you consider some non-unique but similar priced competitors like Pinkberry.

Yelp
We got to try 626 Ice Cream tonight and we understand now why the lines are always so long here. Their soft serve is some of the best out there. The unique offering of flavors and very hospitable staff is a combo for success. Lucky for us we came by shortly after they opened. There was a short line and the staff will help to explain their current flavors to new customers. The location has a tremendous aesthetic. A chill place to be with friends and family. The hours are limited and current options were 6 flavors. Regular size is $7.75. Kids size is $6.95. Toppings are $1.95 for 3 choices. Staff allow you to sample the flavors as well. We tried 4 of em and note they do have 2 vegan options. We decided on the Black Sesame and Lychee Strawberry for this visit. It's all good to be honest. You can't wrong with their flavors. Add them to bookmarks and try it out. 626 Ice Cream absolutely lives up to all their hype!

Yelp
I heard about this place on social media and decided to try it out with a friend. We both agreed it was a little overhyped but still good. The ice cream was "not too sweet" as advertised and they had a lot of interesting asian inspired flavors. But, we didn't really think the ice cream was anything out of this world. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. They let us sample every flavor and explained the ingredients and flavor inspirations throughly. The girl who helped us was so friendly and nice! The store itself has a couple tables inside to eat at. But, the inside is sooooo cold and the fans were turned up to the MAX. So, we opted for the outside seating on plastic stools in the parking lot. In the end, we ordered two kid sizes one with POGM and Yakult, and another with Black Sugar Vanilla and Yakult. We enjoyed them all but also felt like we could have gotten better ice cream elsewhere. POGM 8/10 : Sweet and Tart. Tastes just like Hawaiian POG juice but with a little mango. They use real guava so you can taste a little pulp which is a fun plus! Yakult 5/10: Sweet and Tart as well. It doesn't really taste like yakult as it's a little more milky than the actual drink. We liked it at first but both agreed it got a little bit rich after a while. Black Sugar Vanilla 4/10: Doesn't really taste very much like vanilla as much as it does black sugar. It kinda tastes like fresh milk drinks from boba shops like Half and Half or Chicha San Chen. Kinda boring. If you have a kid that is picky, you should probably get them this one.

Yelp
I've heard so much about this place, I couldn't wait to finally check it out! I went around 11 pm on a Friday, and was surprised when I saw that there was still a line out the door! The staff was super friendly and really made me feel welcome. They even let me sample all the flavors! I'm a big fan of the Asian-inspired flavors, but my favorite was the black sugar vanilla. It reminded me of the delicious black sugar boba drink. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can add some toppings to your order. I added mochi and bulou arare (rice crackers), and they were both amazing. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying their new flavors!

Yelp
This is my favorite spot for soft serve/ice cream. I love their rotating menu with Asian inspired flavors! I've been coming here for a while now and it's so popular there's always a wait. My favorite flavors have been the Yakult and Yuzu, but their newest Condensed Milk may be number one now. It does get quite loud in there with the music, but I always opt to sit on the curb or even in my car. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Looking forward to more flavors!

Yelp
Wow. 626 Ice Cream is a newly opened ice cream shop in the 626 area, and it has quickly become my favorite ice cream shop. The bold, unique flavors are amazing. I love their hojicha and matcha flavors, but honestly everything is spectacular. The shop is pretty small, but there are a lot of seats and even provided activities that allow groups to have a good time. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and I always have a great time chatting with them as they give out samples. Overall, my favorite ice cream spot by far, and I cannot emphasize how much I recommend 626 Ice Cream to others.

Yelp
I've heard amazing things about their Asian-inspired flavors so we had to stop by and check it out. We came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday and there was a short line of 5 people ahead of us. There was always a consistent line while we were there, but it does move pretty quickly. Upon entering, their friendly workers gave us a summary of all their flavors. They make everything in house and offered us some samples prior to ordering. We each got an individual cup for $7.75 which can be split in 2 flavors. Unfortunately, we really wanted to try their POGM flavor, so we were a bit disappointed that it was unavailable at the time. I ended up ordering the Yakult and Brown Sugar Vanilla. I did really love the Yakult - it was very refreshing and reminded me of original tart with a slight Yakult aftertaste. The Brown Sugar Vanilla was decent - very sweet but nothing special. If you like sorbet, they have a Mandarin flavor available; however, when I sampled it I thought it was too sour for my liking. They do rotate their flavors as I saw that they had Ube and Matcha previously. I probably would've like these flavor choices more than what was available at the time I came. There are a few tables to sit at inside, and some stools outside as well. The ambience is very retro and as an Arcadia native, I love that they pay homage to the old Ace Yogurt with their decor. We got some free stickers at checkout, which was super cute! I'd come back again next time after checking if they have new flavors that I'd enjoy.

Yelp
About last night....this spot gave me a happy ending- LOL. Let me explain. Concert ended and going back home from LA. We didn't want the night to end so let's look for a sweet treat. This magical place came up- it was around 10pm and we were excited it was open! Btw, if you need a nice gluten free option for the late night craving, come here! They have 2 sizes to choose from, individual and kid size. A nice array of toppings as well. The kids size will do the trick for a late snack. The customer service at this hour was TOP NOTCH! You can taste test if you want. Super friendly sweet staff. The atmosphere was super chill and the music- Oh my- some classic oldies!?? Who is the genius owner of this place?? Hats off to you and your creativity! Everyone was just shooting the breeze and enjoying the ice cream. Customers were coming in to purchase the pints of icecream and leaving. You know the ice cream is legit if you pick up a pint here late at night then the local Vons for ice cream! Cheers!

Yelp
This place was such a vibe! I love the interior, it feels like they've put a lot of thought into the place for folks to come chill and eat ice cream. I didn't realize they even had stools set up outside for people to sit and enjoy their desserts. The service was great, as first timers they let us try every single flavor. Our server was hospitable and patient and when we chose toppings, he would ask us if we were okay with the amount--which not a lot of ice cream places do. He really walked us thru each ice cream flavor as we tried the samples! We got to try ube vanilla, the mandarin (I think), yaklut, strawberry lychee and honey something (which tasted like cereal/nutty). All made in house. They were all solid choices! I generally don't go for anything ube but it was so creamy here that I couldn't resist. 10/10 would come again for the ice cream and the vibes!
