Nestled in the Edition Hotel, 701 West offers a chic prix-fixe dining experience with stunning views and playful wine pairings, all curated by Chef John Fraser.
"It is unclear what is happening with Fraser’s restaurants housed inside the Times Square Edition, including the flashy, well-reviewed spot 701West." - Erika Adams
"The Edition Hotel in Times Square has a few different bars and restaurants that feel like dining rooms on mega-yachts, and 701 West is the fanciest of them all. This attractive American restaurant from the chef behind Nix and The Loyal is on the 11th floor, and has dim lighting, comfortable booths, and big blue drapes covering its massive windows overlooking Times Square. The menu is a $98 prix-fixe that includes your choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. The portions are small, and so far, we haven’t tried anything we’d want to eat again - the octopus carpaccio has an intensely acidic juice that drowns out everything else, the roasted pork gets most of its flavor from its dijon and parsley coating, and the buckwheat puff pastry basically tastes like a graham cracker topped with whipped cream. The views from the outdoor terrace would make this place worth trying if it were one-third the price, but right now, you don’t need to spend between $100 and $200 per person to eat here." - Matt Tervooren
