I couldn’t believe you can get HK cha chaan teng food in Dallas this authentic! The beef hor fun noodles are maybe the best in town, and the unique HK cafe fare like the french toast, pork chop, and milk tea are really excellent.

UPDATE: as of July 2024 852 Cafe has merged into Chasu Kitchen. While they gradually bring back more of their items to Chasu, please continue to provide support and patience as we can finally enjoy HK cafe foods in a dine-in environment! === Another milestone for Hong Kong cafe food & drink in DFW! 852 Cafe is part of the Legacy West Eats ghost kitchen (pick-up or food delivery service only) recently opening with a small but impactful menu of Hong Kong cafe food & drink. Overall Impression: Nostalgia for Hong Kongers craving HK food & drink in DFW and new intriguing flavors for those new to HK cafe food. Food was pretty filling for the price point. With continual support and constructive feedback, it can only get better and better.

Google
This is a togo only place and they're probably experimenting with their menu before opening a real restaurant. Their food were really authentic Hong Kong Cafe food. I've tried their Fried Chicken Wings with Garlic Butter Sauce, Hong Kong Style Curry Fish Balls, Hong Kong Style Satay Beef Over Rice with Scrambled Eggs, Hong Kong Style Baked Pork Chop Rice, Comfy rice plate (2): Spam, Franks, and Fried Eggs, Hong Kong Style Milk Tea (COLD). All the foods I tried so far are very authentic and nice Hong Kong Cafe style food and I highly recommend this place to anyone who missed Hong Kong Cafe style food.

Google
Terrible customer service. My family was excited to try their special limited-quantity menu, but with a toddler, it’s hard to time our arrival perfectly. I called ahead to see if I could place an order in advance and dine in when we arrived. The staff member was incredibly impatient, repeatedly saying she couldn’t understand me and quickly dismissing my request. When I asked how many portions would be available for Saturday lunch, she refused to answer and abruptly passed me to the manager—who was just as dismissive and unwilling to listen. This experience completely ruined our weekend plans, and we had to find another restaurant. If you enjoy being treated poorly and feeling like the restaurant is doing you a favor by existing, this is the place for you. Otherwise, plenty of other places actually WELCOME their customers.

Google
Flavor is 10/10. Beef flat noodle was served with too much bean sprout and onions, and not enough noodle and beef. I give five star hoping this is just a one time issue. But if the next time I feel like I'm eating stir fry vegetable with noodles and beef sprinkled as garnish again it will be difficult to keep it at 5 star. Beef flat noodle should be mainly noodle and beef and only a touch of bean sprouts and softer onions. Each bite should be soft and beefy with soft notes of crunch from a limited but appropriate amount of bean sprouts and onion. The flavor was so good I didn't mind as much as I would normally, but it definitely felt like I was eating stir fried flat onion not beef flat noodle. Rice noodle is not that expensive please don't skimp. EDIT: on subsequent visits 852 has served better proportions of noodles meat and veggies. Highly recommend.

Had the Nutella French Toast and it was amazing! Surprisingly, the fries were a nice side. I will definitely be ordering again!

Google
Great Hong Kong style food in Plano. The baked pork chop on rice is amazing. I only wish they have a bigger menu so I can try more of my old favs here.

Google
Been looking for HK style food and this is the only one we've found that's some what close by and authentic. The food is delicious and service is fantastic. Keep adding new menu items! Will be back!

Yelp
I've heard great things about Chasu and I finally made it there! We went for an early dinner around 4 p.m. on a Saturday. The place was half full. The interior has a cool street food vibe, and it's half self-serve. You get utensils, water, plates, and the food delivery and cleanup is taken care of by the staff. There's plenty of seating. We ordered and paid up front right when we came in, got a number, and were told to sit ourselves. The ordering area is a bit cramped, and it felt a bit rushed since it was our first time and we were expecting a sit-down-and-order style. We ordered what felt like basically everything from their Hong Kong-style menu. The food came out pretty quickly, except for the baked pork chops, but it was totally worth the wait. Needless to say, everything was delicious. We especially loved the Stir Fried Flat Noodle with Beef and the Fried Wings with Garlic Butter Sauce. The main points to note were that the meat was super tender, not too salty, and well-flavored. In fact, I had such a great experience here that I ordered the flat noodles and wings again on DoorDash a week later!

Yelp
Very close to the real Hong Kong style "Cha chaan teng" must try the dish on their HONG KONG SPECIALTIES menu, Fried Chicken Wings with Garlic Butter Sauce (4pcs) Hong Kong Style Curry Fish Ball w/ Pork Rinds & Radish Very Good

ViJay K.

Yelp
You know a place is legit when the majority of the diners are Asian. It's always a good sign! This spot didn't disappoint. The process is simple: you order at the counter, find a seat, and they'll bring your food out to you. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and exactly what I hoped for. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Skyla L.

Yelp
This place is fabulous. First time I came, I built my own bowl. Today I had flat noodle with chicken and black bean sauce. Spectacular fresh food. Friendly folks. I love the ambiance too. Christmas lights all strung up inside gives it a cool vibe.

Joyce Y.

Yelp
Super tasty and authentic Cantonese food! We ordered: Tofu fries Beef flat noodles Chasu bowl Mango pudding for dessert ( it was the real deal) Service is fast and kind.

Crystal C.

Yelp
All I have to say is the beef bulgogi and the amount of flavor that is in that dish will make me a repeat customer for the end of time. Staff is always very helpful and delightful to talk to the location has great parking. It gives you a street Thai food feel with the decor inside. I haven't had one dish from them that was not good. Overall this is always a repeat location for me.

Yong L.

Yelp
Good asian food and good service give me a very happy experience. I willingly go to this restaurant again

Kevin C.

Yelp
The environment is very inviting. Like the Hong Kong themed vibe. The food selections are great. There is something for everyone from rice bowl to noodles plus more. The flavor was great. Highly recommend you give it a try. The food is made to order and pipping hot. The staff was very polite and friendly. Love it Definitely give it a try. Try ordering from the Hong Kong Cafe menu. They are doing a partner with 852 Cafe that serves Hong Kong Tea House items such as milk tea, baked pork chop rice and etc.

Zybra T.

Yelp
Stopped by and really enjoyed the food. Hubby got the Bulgogi bowl (Delicious) and I got the House Rice Noodles (very bland) I poured the sauce that came with our egg rolls over my dish in hopes that it would help. It didn't!!! Nice ambience Friendly staff

Belynda H.

Yelp
Delish!! What a nice treat to find tonight. We tried some bowls but will definitely be back to try more soon. Portion sizes are great. Veggies very fresh. You can watch the cooks at the grill if you want to. Sauce was yummy. Workers were efficient and polite...we came in close to closing time but they didn't seem terribly bothered. Restrooms and seating area was all very clean. Thank you Chasu

Jasmine B.

Yelp
Finally went and tried Chasu Kitchen it was amazing. Ambiance was nice very clean service was great friendly and fast. Food was delicious and hit the spot. My favorite was the bun set with cashu pork appetizer. Also had the singapore noodles, Spicy ramen, and the bahn mi all were great.

Yelp
One of the very best Chinese food in North Dallas. It has a touch of Hong Kong style, and you definitely would feel like home here.

Patrick C.

Yelp
Been craving for the Hong Kong style food in Dallas for a while. This restaurant has recently been working with another team to come up with these Hong Kong style dishes. I am impressed that they would make sure the adaptation is good before pushing the dishes to the menu. That's why you'd see a new dish consistently once in a few weeks. The taste is authentically closed to what you could find in Hong Kong. Their Hong Kong style milk tea is another must! Of course the Hong Kong style decoration makes everything feel cozy.

Danielle S.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants. We're here almost every week. The food and quality are very consistent. Lots of different options. Love their drinks as well, give the Mango Breeze a try! Customer service is amazing! They can get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, just a heads up.

M Y.

Yelp
Good Local Hong Kong style awesome "pork chop baking rice". 80% to cafe de coral. Self serve is ok. Bad Table not properly clean. Portion small CP value fair

Don G.

Yelp
Upon entering I receive a prompt and friendly greeting. Staff was patient with me as I looked over menu to decide what I wanted to eat. The dining area is larger than it appears from the outside. Tables and chairs are functional. The chairs are metal and bright red and orange. The entire restaurant is decorated to give you the feel of being at an Asian market or urban, Asian street. The walls have photos of street scenes and festive lights hang from the ceiling. Different areas of the dining room are marked by street signs. The food is made fresh to order and was served rather quickly. I ordered spicy shrimp fried rice. It was delicious. The rice was tasty containing al dente peas and carrots (just the way I like them). 6-8 large shrimp were served on top of the rice. The shrimp was firm and had the nice orange hue of properly cooked shrimp. It was cooked to precision. I enjoyed my overall experience and I'll be back to try out other dishes.

Yelp
Super friendly services, and unbeatable authentic Asian food! Something you can only taste (supposing it) if you travel to Hong Kong!

Michael W.

Yelp
Walk up to the cashier place your order, pay and they will serve it to your table. We ordered 2 dishes and the were served promptly to the table we picked. The rice pork chop was delicious and the beef flat noodle was good too. They were friendly. Great meal at a reasonable price.

Narayan R.

Yelp
I went to Chasu the other day and got their Korean spicy ramen with pork kimchi and egg. Overall the food was okay but was pretty bland. Aside from the kimchi nothing really packed a lot of flavor. The egg was my favorite part of the dish despite my innate and never ending hatred for eggs. The noodles were also cooked well but I was extremely disappointed in the lack of spice that was in the ramen. I've had korean food before and they don't play about their spice yet this place did. I wish there was significantly more spice in the broth and the pork was extremely bland. If i had to guess, I would say they just cooked the pork without seasoning and then shoved it in the ramen. Overall everything was solid but nothing crazy.

Nathan K.

Yelp
Perfect!! We were here to try the new merge with Cantonese restaurant 852 to try their Pork Chop dishes and Hong Kong drinks: HK milk tea and lemon tea. Everything we ordered was delicious, authentic, and served quickly. The baked pork chop over egg fried rice is served under a sweet and savory tomato sauce that boosted an already flavorfully marinated pork. I'm a new regular and I highly recommend to those fans of Hong Kong casual cuisine!

Andy S.

Yelp
Ordered two typical HK dishes. They tasted pretty good and authentic. Good comfort food and reminded my memories in Hk. Love the ambiance at the place. Highly recommended

Lauren R.

Yelp
The workers are nice and helpful. This was my first time by and they explained their menu and was helpful with pairings. I got a build your own bowl and it was a good quick lunch to grab. They have a bunch of really fun specials on a board that I would definitely suggest taking a look at it. Also if you want a fun vibe, the inside is decorated as if you were in a little town and sitting in an alley way. Definitely a fun place to sit and grab a bite to eat.

L H.

Yelp
So yummy! Always solid! I do lots of catering and Chasu is always a favorite. Just wish they would expand their delivery map.

Spencer H.

Yelp
Came to try the food while passing through Plano. I saw the Yelp ranking and thought I would give it a try. The restaurant is clean and has nice music playing. The team member who took the food order was kind and also happy. The sweet and sour chicken was good. Now they just need to open in Fort Worth so we have more Chinese options there!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Very friendly helpful employees. Some interesting creative options. We had the bulgogi bowl and for me it was my favorite take on bulgogi because of all of the fun vegetables and flavors. My husband really wants to taste the meat and it was definitely low on both the quantity of meat and the ability to pick that flavor out bc of everything else going on in the dish. We also ordered drunken noodles because it's pretty much our favorite Asian dish and we use it to judge any place that carries it. Unfortunately, while it tasted very fresh, we were both underwhelmed with the flavor. I expect a little bit of sweet and rich smoky undertones, just a lot of diverse undertones and this was perhaps just above middle of the road, which really isn't great. I wouldn't order it again there. But I would be willing to come back and try some other things. I was really curious to try some of the Hong Kong dishes. I think they have a lot of potential and there are probably a lot of better examples of what their great at making. Lots of interesting sounding bowl combinations. Worth a try.

Jim T.

Yelp
Great food great ambience great service We will definitely be back. The menu has good variety.

Cole F.

Yelp
I've been trying to order from this place for weeks now but ordering online is impossible and they NEVER pick up the phone.

Lani C.

Yelp
We love all the rice and noodle dishes. I did not enjoy the seasoning on the hot wings.

Julie D.

Yelp
The mango smoothie is like a sno cone with real slivers of mango with shaved ice. 5 out of 5 They have non tea drinks which I thought were tea but made of milk. I'm allergic to tea so this made me happy. I am not a fan of the hot n sour soup 2 out of 5 Rive noodle dish on the board was yummy but not spicy and needs more zucchini. 4.7 out of 5 and egg roll is 3 out of 5 Price is eh. I think it could be less. Very clean and friendly. Improved over years 4.8 out of 5

Stef S.

Yelp
Thank you yelpers!! This place is DELISH!!! We had the Chashu house bowl and the bulgogi bowl and BOTH were superbly flavorful and HUGE portions. Did not finish it all. We also had the fried gyoza- perfect crunch and cook. We will be back.

Mary C.

Yelp
We ordered chicken wings bowl and Singapore rice noodle. For the rice bowl, you have an option of white or brown rice. I decided to be healthy for a minute and got the brown rice. The chicken wings was good. It was crispy outside and juicy inside. Yum! The Singapore rice noodle was also good. I liked that the curry was not too overwhelming. We will be back to try other stuff. Service is friendly and efficient.

Twoyjs C.

Yelp
Had tom yum noodle soup and crab lagoon. They really should take tom yum off their menu. It had no flavor ypu would expect from tom yum. It was basically salty with no flavor. Crab was good though

Frank S.

Yelp
Great tasting food, friendly service and the decor helped put you in a small local village somewhere in Asia. I had their vegetarian tofu bowl and my daughter had the pad thai for about $10 each. You can also make a custom bowl. The food was prepared quickly, came out nice and warm, and there was good value in the amount of food served. We'd recommend Chasu Kitchen and we'd go back again for sure!

Sherene A.

Yelp
I only order the sushirittos. I've gotten the Chasu pork, the shrimp and the tofu ones and every one of them is solid and filling I always get the gochujang, lime vinaigrette, sauces and the curry one is like a coconut curry and it's solid as hell. Now, I mix the sauces together ...and then I add a dollop of my own Dave's Gourmet Carolina Reaper hot sauce because mama likes everything spicy as hell. I've only ever gotten this food as delivery and it always arrives still warm. Only once was a sauce busted open during transport. Solid gin joint, worth it

Andrew R.

Yelp
FOOD WAS ALAZING MISO SOUP & crispy spring roll also was immaculate Chasu buns were the best of all the best

Sheldon B.

Yelp
Food and service was excellent! Loved the ambience. Restaurant was clean and comfortable.

Jada P.

Yelp
Beautifully marinated tofu!! Was so good. Also got the spring roll and miso soup. Will be coming back

Alvin H.

Yelp
Hmm torn on this one. Their Singapore fried noodles is the best I've had in the US - trying that dish in over 50 restaurants all over the US, Chasu Kitchen tops them all on that dish. Noodles are deep in curry flavor, and great combo of meats and eggs. Everything else (bowls, appetizers) including the famed chasu....eh, average. To put it simply, I wouldn't go out of the way to come here, but if I do, there are only a few select dishes worth ordering.

Michael L.

Yelp
Cantonese fusion food! Need more of this in DFW area. Food was very good and the staff checked on us multiple times. Owner even came out and spoke to us. Will definitely bring the family next time!

S.B. B.

Yelp
Not impressed with the food. I am sure many Hongkongers love it because there aren't many Cantonese food options in this town, but the food doesn't come close. The curry in the curry fish balls is not creamy. I could feel the curry powder in my mouth. The Singapore fried rice noodles look very Americanized. I had better in some dim sum restaurants.

Todd B.

Yelp
Was working nearby at a large retailer and was really in the mood for some Chinese food. When I looked on Yelp, which is my Go-To for selecting the right place, I found Chasu Kitchen. It was a fusion restaurant and it had a yummy looking menu! Walked over and was able to pick a seat after ordering. Waitress taking order was friendly. Ordered the pineapple basil fried rice with chicken added. Within a few minutes(maybe 5-7) my food was out and you could tell it was made fresh! It was very good and had good flavor. Sauces to choose from and even a fortune cookie to grab on your way out. Will definitely be back. The atmosphere was good and relaxing. Self service soda and drinks. Very good!

Anna L.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Although I have been here about 10x now, I get the same dish every time.. I get the Singapore Style Noodle w/ the Classic Milk Tea.... Absolute perfection. I love the staff! It's usually pretty busy, but it's peak lunch time. I have never waited more than 15 minutes for food... WORTH THE WAIT THOUGH!!

Damon R.

Yelp
I had the drunken noodles, and they were quite good. It said they were spicy which is what I wanted but they came out rather mild. That's the only reason I didn't give five stars. But the food was very fresh, served piping hot and very fast. Great service and reasonable prices as well. Definitely recommend...just make the drunken noodles more spicy!

Paola L.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Super cute atmosphere, very nice & quiet when we went on a Friday night . Honestly this Thai place was delicious we got a whole lot of food for only $33. You order at the counter & food gets delivered to your table very quickly. I def recommend

Guy W.

Yelp
Kids love it, we love it, food is always delicious, fast order for pick up, we have been loyal customers for over five years!

Jesse B.

Yelp
The staff have made great improvements in attention to detail in recent months and getting your order and sides right. It's gratifying to see because this really is one of the finest Asian fusion restaurants in Dallas. Every entree I've tried has been delicious and I've never been disappointed. The various bowls are excellent but the sesame chicken remains my favorite. The food is never greasy and doesn't give you that heavy, unhealthy feeling you sometimes get with other similar local restaurants. Though the food is great, the best thing on the menu just might be the Honey Ginger Jasmine iced tea. I get it at least 2-3 times a week and there's definitely something very addictive about it. It's like a sweet, healthy elixir that tastes amazing and I always tell the staff that they should put this thing in stores. Do yourself a favor and try it out! I should end by saying the staff here is always super friendly and very kind and they definitely earn your business. The restaurant is very small, only room for a few tables so I always get takeout but they always take care of me. Chasu is very highly recommended and the many 5-star reviews here are proof of that!

Melanie M.

Yelp
Our food was SOOOOO GOOD we just moved to DFW and we're looking for a staple Asian restaurant. This was perfect!!! The egg drop soups and our entrees were so good. Portions are huge! Thank you Chasu!

Luke S.

Yelp
Had it on the weekend. Busy but not Asian food. Americanized whatever. Not chasu (bbq flavored, sweet and red pork), more like chicken teriyaki. Edible as an Asian but only once.

Any T.

Yelp
First time here. 3:50pm Ordered Tofu Pad Thai. Plentiful bowl w well cooked rice noodles and a good amount of tofu. Red cabbage and shredded carrots to mix in. Spicy. Could use a bit of additional sauce as noodles soaked it all and by the time it was served it felt a tad dry but still good. Served freshly made and hot in about 7 mins from order to being ready. That was good. Staff at register was courteous but rest of staff who was at next table eating didn't bother to help when I kept trying to ask for chopsticks. My server (a young Asian kid) was quick to get those for me. The dish is good and hopefully my next visit it will be better. Definitely coming back.
