85°C Bakery in Flushing is the bakery for freshly baked goods and creative seasonal offerings. Celebrate this Fourth of July with their Red Velvet and Strawberry Cream cakes designed specially for this holiday. It’s not just are visually stunning but tastefully balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. The Red Velvet is rich and velvety with a smooth cream cheese frosting, while the Strawberry Cream is light, fruity, and refreshingly indulgent. The bread and pastries here is a standout. Whether it’s a savory bun or a sweet pastry, the texture is consistently soft yet bouncy, with that perfect chewy bite that makes each item feel freshly baked and satisfying. Drinks are crafted with care and precision. Prices are more than reasonable with abundant choices. First time at this bakery and wanted to support a Taiwanese business. On the evening of Thursday, 08/21/25 at around 6:45PM, I purchased 2 buns: a Mango Custard Bun and a Pork Sung Bun (dried pork flakes with mayo; it was the last one). On the next morning, I tried the Pork Sung Bun and it was just terrible. Not only it was dry, hard, and "old" like it's been sitting there for days. The mayo was going bad (sour). I immediately called the bakery with the intention of providing a constructive feedback. Susan from the bakery answered my call and took the feedback with my info telling me that she'll share the feedback with the store manager and would issue a store credit. I was glad to hear because that's proper customer service and symbolizes that they stand by quality. I wasn't looking for a refund or credit. Then Susan called me back telling me that the Store Manager, Leo wants me to bring back the eaten bun!!! Like, ewwww! I had told her during the first call that I won't be able to make it to the Tangram Mall until a few days later and by her telling me that the manager wants to inspect the bun even days later makes NO SENSE! The bun is already hard, dry, and going bad. So, I should somehow keep this spoiling bun and bring it back so I can get a measly $2 something store credit?!! You all can keep my money because I am not interested in ever going back to your bakery. I'll just share the photos here so you can inspect it!!

They have much more selection now than in their first couple of weeks of opening. I was actually pretty surprised considering it was a Saturday at 2pm when I went. FYI there are 2 drink kiosks on either entrance. I was so blown away by the Hokkaido cream bun!! I love the sea salt drink series. Matcha sea salt was good and it has an adjustable sweetness level. So happy that there’s finally an 85 in nyc

Google
Pastries are exactly what you’d expect from a mainstream Chinese bakery—small, a bit oily, lightly sweet, and easy to eat, but honestly kind of boring. The selection is large, the shop is clean and busy, and the vibe is nice, but nothing really jumped out or got me excited. I picked two items that looked promising; they turned out just okay. If you’re already in the mall, it’s a convenient spot for a quick snack, but not really a destination.

This is a Taiwanese bakery called 85°C Bakery Café, located inside the Tangram Mall in Flushing🍞☕️They serve coffee along with a variety of desserts, including their popular pineapple cakes. There’s also a dine-in area where you can sit down and enjoy your treats.

I finally found time to come here because for the first 6 months since opening, this place has been PACKED. I came early at 10am and there was no line to order drinks. There were a lot of assorted pastries but the pastries that I liked unfortunately had nuts in them, and I am allergic to nuts :/ So there wasn’t much else that looked appetizing to eat at 10am that also wasn’t super sugary for the morning. So I got a mocha latte, and it was delicious! Not too sweet, and I’m happy it came with whipped cream. For less than $5 it’s a steal. But for pastries I’d recommend just supporting your local bakeries.

First time trying in the States. Tried the 85 degree coffee and enjoyed it. Good balance of coffee flavor, sugar, and dairy. The dining room is currently shut down because A/C is broken. Kind of a strange setup for ordering but very good variety of baked items.

Google
Second day of their soft launch. Place was packed. Everything was very reasonably priced. Like many asian baked goods, things were on the very sweet side, but that may just be me cause I prefer savory. Still, everything we got was very good. The standouts for me were the jalapeño cream cheese bread, ravioli bun, chocolate mousse, and egg tarts. They did not skimp on the fillings for anything as many places do. I liked the egg tarts as much as those from the egg tart lady (I miss her!), though these had a crispier shell and almost liquidity center—so light and creamy. The bottled Thai ice tea was surprisingly good—creamy and flavorful, though not as strong on that smoky flavor I like and a little too sweet. The staff were friendly and nice, and seemed happy to be working there. Update: So I’ve been back dozens of times. The jalapeno cream cheese bread is still the best. The tuna sandwich is yummy. The berry tarts, choco bun, and crispy chocolate bun are also worth getting. A lot of the non-savory breads/buns/etc have the same sweetness profile and kinda end up all tasting the same. The cookies are disappointing, especially the chocolate chip, which has oats in it and ends up tasting more like an oatmeal cookie than chocolate chip cookie—also, for freshly baked goods, the ingredients list is crazy long and complicated. The potato croquette has bacon bits in it, which they don’t mention in the description. If you have food restrictions, definitely check out the full ingredients list for each item on their website—they can be really surprising. The salted coffee is delicious. Depending on time of day the place can be really packed and availability of goods varies.

Yelp
This is my favorite Asian bakery maybe ever in America. The variety here is like insane and they have seasonal items and still LOW PRICE! All their bread is super super soft and fluffy. And never have they tasted stale they're all usually fresh! Self serve bread and fast checkout. My favorite buns are: coconut milk + choco strawberry cream + taro mochi boroh + normal choco w cream Runner ups are: matcha choco + mango custard Other notes: taro puff needed more taro filling, mangotale too soggy cream cheese not enough mango, Hokkaido cream bread, boroh bread with cream (it was just a pasty custard), milk puff pastry less filling inside tho, orange cream but cream is not orange enough cookie choco bun woulda been gas if it had cream, salt bread, premium milk bun soft but the milk filling is lowkey just really sweet white chocolate, Boroh bread, marble taro (tried this again and it's good but just not that much flavor), ube bread was just hard and didn't like ube taste Egg tart w mochi p good was cool to taste the mochi

Yelp
I've heard about this bakery for a while, and I finally went to try it out after the hype died down on social media. They still receive plenty of foot traffic, so it must still be good, right? There is a wide selection of Asian bakery pastries, ranging from their pork floss bun to the custard buns and even their own version of egg tarts. They also have cakes that seem to be made fresh daily, but those are to be tried another time. I tried their pork floss bun because that's my all-time favorite bread from Chinese bakeries. 85 bakery version, it was spectacular. The bread itself was fluffy, soft, & airy, not dry or thick. There was a good amount of pork floss on top, and the mayo condiment was not too heavy, either. I also tried their egg tarts, which were pretty good, too. There was a good ratio of crust to filling. The crust wasn't too thin, and the filling wasn't too sweet. They tasted really good when they came out fresh and warm. There are lots of other pastries and bread to try, and the best part is that the pricing isn't overpriced either--it's similar to the prices you'd pay if you'd gotten it from other bakeries around that area.

Yelp
I Loved the new variety of bread. A lot of Chinese bakeries in Flushing often run out of bread by the time I go in the evening. This place was full of inventory. Bread all tastes good and fresh. No stale or weird smell. Prices were good as well considering most of the bread had size. I recommend this place.

Yelp
85°C Bakery Cafe is currently baking in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Hawaii, Arizona, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, and Kansas. The first-ever and only location in the east coast celebrated its Grand Opening from January 10-12, 2025. 85°C Bakery Cafe is located on the ground floor by the 39th avenue entrance in Tangram. Follow the aroma of fresh baked bread! 85°C Bakery Cafe features an in-shop bakery with over 50 varieties of pastries baked fresh. There are savory and sweet pastries, danishes and strudels, cakes, box sets of egg tarts, individual desserts, and drinks. Everything is displayed in an organized way and packed individually. I purchased the Mango Custard Bun and 85°C Egg Tart. The Mango Custard Bun is a soft, mango flavored bread filled with sweet mango custard cream. This bun was packed with mango flavor and the perfect sweetness. If you love mango as much as I do, then definitely get this. The 85°C Egg Tart is a creamy egg custard filling baked in a buttery, flaky crust. Both of these pastries were very delectable and heavenly. I can't wait to come back to try other items.

Yelp
The lines can get really long here, so it is best to order ahead and pick up. There is a seating area on the 2nd floor. So glad there is finally a 85 degrees in the east coast.

Yelp
The bakery is located on the 1st floor of the Tangram Mall, 39th ave side. Very convenient by 7 train, parking at the mall for a fee. Learned about the opening so remembered to pass by when I was there. I don't mind the smaller bun sizes and a large variety too; and prices are low considering it is located in a mall.

Yelp
As you enter Tangram Mall, 85C Bakery is located on your left. It was the first establishment that I saw opening the doors. Many packaged bakery items to select from. Yummy goodness. Was with a couple of Yelp peeps after attending a Yelp event. We were all shopping at this bakery. Noticed two staff making coffee. Bright lights and display cases filled will pastries and baked goods. Grabbed a tray got several items -Red Bean Bread -Ube Bread - This is my favorite. It was not too sweet nor salty. Good size filling of ube. -Matcha Red Bean- Like a mini size cake roll with red beans on top and creamy center -Milk Pudding- Liked the filling inside Very impressed with all the baked items and pastries. Reasonably priced. Will be back again to try their other products.

Yelp
Heard a lot about this bakery and decided to order a Father's Day cake online for pickup. Apparently you have to wait on the register line to retrieve your cake and not the pick up area. The layout of the shop is a little tight with little movement on each side. When there's a line, it blocks the shopping experience. While I was on the line, I picked up a boroh danish to try. It was a resemblance to the Chinese pineapple bun, except it's flaky and buttery. It reminds me of a croissant with a slight sweet crunch for the crisscross topping. Decent bun, but I would to go back to try their other buns. As for the cake, it was a tiramisu cheesecake-- but it tasted 95% cheesecake rather than tiramisu. It was a hit with the crowd though, because it was not "too sweet" and fluffy.

Yelp
Surprisingly very good bakery. They have kiosk to order the drink but you can also order via the counter. There is also seating upstairs. My favorite here is the strawberry cream bread and the pudding bread. We also enjoy the milk tea and viet coffee. It does get crowded very fast and the line gets long but it moves fairly quickly. They also have an app for rewards if you buy from here often.

Yelp
85°C Bakery Cafe is conveniently located on the first floor of Tangram. When you enter into Tangram, it's located on the left side of the building. This location is on the smaller side, but still has a great selection of items to choose from! A great place to stop by if you are in need of a quick snack, sweet pastry, or even something to drink! Even when there's a line, it goes by quickly!

Yelp
Okay. Came back here again because I cannot get enough of their sea salt coffee with boba. It's so addictive and seriously they have the best tasting boba and texture is on point. I got the oolong tea with mini crystal boba and that one was eh and didn't hit. I got the Portuguese egg tarts again and the chocolate cake roll. This time I tried the choco bun and surprising I liked it. I wanted to get their Thai tea but thought ordering three drinks for myself was a bit much, so I opted for the bottle version. I'm not sure if the pre-package bottle is the same as the fresh one, but I am hoping it's not because the ingredients are crazy. Definitely not getting the bottle version and also, it was too sweet and very creamy colour than orange colour.

Yelp
I visited Flushing for the first time as was recommended to go to Tangram Mall. As soon as I walked in I walked into this cafe. It can be a little overwhelming because it is very busy. But grab and tray and follow the maze-like line. There are so many options for sweet treats and they are all very affordable (like a max of $3). I got the choco bun and the sugar-covered cream filled danish. It was so good!!! Staff is patient considering the amount of people that they have to deal with. They have coffees, teas and boba as well!

Yelp
Came here with my kids quite a few times- they have a lot of interesting breads & desserts. Personally, I thought the (top 10) pastries/ breads I've tried so far were underwhelming and dry. What I did really like were their classic tiramisu and macchiato cream cake as well as their mango peach bubbly drink with mango jelly, bottled Thai tea & milk tea- soo good! My kids love them too, and the brioche, hokkaido cheese tart and mochi egg tart. The service is usually quick, staff are friendly and the bakery is very clean & organized with plenty of seating upstairs.

Yelp
There was a long line when I visited on Sunday afternoon. I've waited around 20 minutes in line from choosing bread to payment. I could smell the freshly baked bread from a distance as they kept rolling out fresh bread from the kitchen. I was a little sad that the mochi egg tarts were sold out and I was told they were all gone early in the morning. They still had regular egg tarts pre-packed in half dozen though. I was lucky enough to secure the marble taro bun ($3.40) when it was fresh out of oven. It was still warm when I got it. It felt dense and the center was generously loaded with sweet taro paste. Yet the calorie count was 640 with 33g sugar which made it an indulgence for once in a while. I was extremely full after having one. I also got their pineapple cake ($2.50) as I remember it was great when I tried it in Taiwan. My bf got their strawberry white choco bun ($2.25) and sugar brioche bun ($2.30) which also looked appealing. Overall, I'd love to come back for their mochi egg tarts that I missed, and probably get some drinks as I was too full to try any yesterday. I saw they are currently offering free sea salt coffee or sea salt jasmine tea if you sign up on their app.

Yelp
This Taiwanese bakery chain which has locations worldwide has finally opened their first ever East coast/New York city location. Today's soft opening looked to be a success with a steady steam of customers. 85C Bakery is located inside busy Tangram mall on the first floor near the 39th Avenue entrance doors. With a small seating space on the second story, the inside is pleasantly larger than I had anticipated. You can place your order at the kiosk closest to the baked goods section in the back, or you can pay at the counter. We got a variety of baked items (taro bread, Choco bun, milk pudding, etc) along with a cold Vietnamese coffee ($4.80) and a Mango Slush ($5.80). Prices were surprisingly reasonable- baked goods where $2-3 each. We really liked their strawberry bread which had an almost cheesecake like filling. The Vietnamese coffee was also a stand out. Very strong and sweet. Loved the teeny tiny ice cubes used with this drink which didn't water down the flavor but kept the drink icy. The mango slush was okay. It more sweet than I usually like but refreshing none the less. Another nice thing they have going for them is their hours of operation. They are open at 8-9am making them one of the few businesses and food vendor open so early inside this mall. Most of the businesses in Tangram opens at 10-10:30 am but the mall itself is open much earlier and you will often see visitors hanging out inside. Now they have this new cafe to grab a drink and bites while they wait. Tip: their official opening date is Jan 10th with many special promos (free prizes & merch) planned
google avatar

Caroline N.

Yelp
Please check before going: the hours of operations said 8AM-9PM with no sign there are different hours during grand opening, Yelp states the hours are 9AM-9PM, Instagram ad says 9AM-9PM, and grand opening seems to be 9AM. The hours of operations seems to be a bit confusing at this time. Note: this place accepts cash or credit cards, no American Express. Note: Service dogs are allowed, emotional pets aren't allowed entry otherwise the bakery will be shutdown by the Health Department. Why do I write this you ask, a customer tried to walk their dog into the bakery and couldn't produce a document stating it's a service dog. Came here for the grand opening weekend (Sunday). The bakery is part of the Tangram Mall on the 39th Avenue between College Point and Prince Street. The Mall doesn't open until 10:00AM. The Mall employee was nice to let us wait inside at 7:55AM before the 8:00AM opening. However, the bakery didn't open at 8:00AM, we waited until 9AM, which explains why there isn't a long line when I went. The bakery is a Taiwanese chain and known for constantly putting out fresh items while calling out "Fresh Bread". There were 2 asides of items and enough room for 2 people if you turn sideways otherwise it's really 1 person walkway. With the grand opening, there is a lot of people so there was a limit of how many people can be in the store at a time. Aisle 1: Baked items on the left side, rolls and tarts on the right side. Aisle 2: Baked items on the left side, refrigerator for cheesecake, sweets and cake. If you missed grabbing some items in the first aisle, some of the items repeat in the 2nd aisle. After a mad dash of picking items, I decided to pick up a Deluxe Strawberry Cream too. Scanned my app which has a promotion item, I got a free salted cream Jasmine tea. Since I was one of the first 85 customers, I received a coupon to come back for another free drink (which I will give it to someone else to use). During the grand opening, a free reusable bag is given with purchase and if it's over $20, you receive a free mug. Foodwise - the red bean bun has a decent amount of filing in it. Overall the pricing isn't bad, it ranges $2-$3. Have to try the items before I can comment. Go check it out.

Yelp
Think of this brand as the Taiwanese Paris Baguette or better than average Chinese bakery. The filled items are always loaded with filling. I love most of the items I have gotten so far: 1. Bolo Bun: Closer to the Japanese melon pan. Not like the Hong Kong bo lo bao. No filling but still tasty. 2. Marble Taro Bun: Biggg and loaded with real taro inside. Love the slight crunch on the outside. Really great bun. 3. Jalapeño Cheese Bun: So much cream cheese filling with lots of jalapeño slices. Spicy lovers would love this. 4. Sun Dried Tomato Ravioli: More western bun but they did a good job with flavors! So much filling as well. 5. Cinnamon Twist: Not too sweet, lightly flakey. Feels healthier than the Western-style twists. Things I wouldn't get again: Cakes, Hawaiian Chicken Bun, Ham & Cheese. They are not bad, but just average. Definitely avoid the cakes in my opinion and stick with the buns. Other notes: Card friendly. Separate kiosk to order drinks. Upstairs seating (not too many tables).

Yelp
New bakery in town! I got mochi egg tarts, guava and cheese, and classic pork floss. I will be repeat buying the mochi egg tarts, but not the rest. Their pastries are slightly cheaper than bakeries around. There're sitting area upstairs, but if it's full, just take it to the mall lobby, there're plenty of seats. Drink is a miss for me... nothing special. I got their sea salt coffee . Also when I ordered, I asked if it's really sweet ( the coffee came sweetened ), she just replied I don't know, I never tried it. I understand they just open a week ago, but you can ask someone you know ..., not to mention this is their number 1 best selling drink . I ordered 50% sugar, and it's a bit too sweet to me .
google avatar

Elsie W.

Yelp
Love their hot dog buns and the sweet butter wreath. Love that they have an app! So you can order ahead and earn points. The sea salt jasmine tea was a bit too sweet for me. Also liked the mochi egg tart. Inside Tangram mall. There's seating upstairs!

Yelp
When this location first opened, of course I was antsy to come but to go to flushing is a trip! We finally got to visit this store back in March and we picked up a few pastries to try. The bread itself was very soft - my favorite is their brioche bun that comes in 4 pieces. Prices are pretty decent for most items so cant really complain there. We recently came back for a second time and tried their drinks- matcha strawberry latte. Maybe I should have ordered some other drinks because this drink tasted like strawberry milk with diluted matcha which was overall just eh. The drink was sweet even at 50% sugar. Next time we come, I will try their cakes as they do look very nice!

Yelp
It's impossible to walk in to Tangram Mall via 39th Rd without being engulfed by the smell of fresh bakery. That's not a bad thing, because it's coming from 85°C Bakery and they bring it. On a cold Sunday afternoon the mall was popping, and lots of folks were feeling some bakery and teas, but never fear, the line moved quickly and the service was super friendly. We got a chocolate chip "bowl" which was more like a giant chocolate chip bread dusted with powdered sugar, and a Royal chocolate cup, which was actually a cup of rich dairy desert with crunchy chocolate balls on top. The selection was big and everything was individually wrapped, which is a plus in such a busy store. 85°C was a highlight of this new mall for us! We'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
This bakery just opened and it's full of hype. Definitely different from the typical Chinese bakeries. Drinks are unique too! This West Coast transplant is worth the visit. We got the Maple Danish, Sugared Cream Cheese Brioche, and Coconut Twist. All the pastries were extremely fresh. The right amount of sweetness with good texture. For drinks we got the Sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea and Taro Lavender Latte. Well made drinks with quality ingredients for a decent price. The bakery can get quite crowded so be prepared to line up. If you only want drinks go through the entrance that's outside of Tangram. There will a kiosk for ordering drinks. There's also a small seating area upstairs. To sum it all up, this bakery is worth the visit and repeat visits. I want to try everything here!
google avatar

Riki J.

Yelp
I'm a Los Angeles transplant and the mochi egg tart from 85 degree is something I miss. I make sure I stop by this store in LA whenever I visit so it is super exciting for me that they opened a branch in Flushing. They're a popular chain and have good selection of baked goods. They're constantly baking and brining out "fresh bread". I also enjoy their Jasmin green tea with sea salt foam but the foam is definitely an acquired taste. The mochi egg tarts are my favorite, I toast it until it's warmed through out and yum. It's a new store, it was super clean. Service was super quick even tho the lines were long on the Grand Opening Weekend. They also gave some free merch which was cool.

Yelp
Heard great things about this bakery that originated in Taiwan and happy to have one the first east coast location in the US! My family friends on the west Coast always talk about this place so I'm excited to finally try! Came at 8:20 AM for their grand opening at 9:00 AM and made it as one of the first 85 customers on line to get a free T-shirt. The Tangram mall was not completely opened yet, but the security guards were accommodating and allowed us to wait inside along the walls until 9 AM so we weren't outside in the cold. Once I reached the opening of the bakery, I got a tray to pick up some baked goods! The line was moving at a good pace, enough time for me to analyze the shelf I was at and grab what I like and then move on to the next. The first shelf on the left had all their most popular options including marble Taro, milk pudding, and garlic cheese which I got. As I was moving along the line, employees were constantly bringing out fresh bread while announcing "FRESH BREAD" out loud. Very enthusiastic and the bread were all indeed toasty. In the middle shelf, acting as a line separator, were egg tarts, berry tarts, mochi tarts, Hokkaido cheese tarts, and cake rolls. I got a set of egg tarts (they come in 2!) and they were very fresh and delicious. They also sell pineapple cakes and nougats which I'm excited to try. Before the cash register is a fridge full of sandwiches and drinks in bottles. I would like to try the pesto chicken sandwich hot and the Thai iced tea bottles one day. Then after the fridge with cold cuts and drinks, is a fridge full of cakes. I got the mango creme brulee and strawberry deluxe. Both are very light and not that sweet, with an interesting layer of pudding in between. There were 3 cash registers open with assistants in the back helping with packing so the lines moved quick! Unfortunately, they do not accept American Express which is the only credit card I carry. But thankfully, I had exactly $30 cash on me. For grand opening, I got a free mug with $20+ purchase and a tote bag with any purchase. Additionally, I got a free drink by downloading their app. The sea Salt Jasmine Green Tea is delicious! Not a coffee gal, but they are known for their coffee too! Then, when I exited the bakery, I got to play a game by showing my receipt for more free swag. The options included a free coffee voucher, free bakery item voucher, metal straw, and a bucket hat. All the employees are so friendly and the place is pretty spacious with a sit down area upstairs. Would love to come check it out next time when it's not as busy!

Yelp
Whatever they use to make the cream in their sweet baos must be so unhealthy because it is so damn good! By far, my favorite bakery in Flushing and the workers there are very friendly!

Yelp
We spent our funeral collected nickels on some pastry, the store was closing soon but they still had good selections of pastry, savory and sweet buns and drinks. We even bought more with cash. I recommend this cafe!

Yelp
This Taiwanese bakery was so jammed packed on the day of my visit, the line spam out to the mall; I really liked their buns when I visited Cali and was hopeful NYC branch will be just as tasty; the wait is over and my verdict is in. It really tasted just liked I remembered it. Got the popular Taro Bun (it is heavy in weight), which was stuffed with Taro filling; though I enjoyed the cheese twist a bit more than the taro bun this time; The white chocolate cookie was really good too. Even though, the wait in line was long and steady, the delicious buns and cookies made up for it. Welcome to NYC!

Yelp
Saw this newly opened cafe in the neighborhood and decided try to them out. I purchased a chicken pesto and a ham and cheese sandwich. They were tasty, however a little bit on the oily side. They have a wide selection of pastries and bread and I can't wait to try their other items.

Yelp
The famous Cali bakery finally comes to NYC!! We ordered the Choco Bun, Jalapeño bun, Garlic Bun, egg tarts, coffee bun, and red bean bun. Choco bun was hands down my favorite!!! it reminded me of a mini lava cake bun. This is a great place if you're just looking for a quick snack to eat! Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them, none of the buns disappointed us. Excited to go back and try others!

Yelp
My now go to spot for birthday cakes. So yum and light and reasonably priced. Can't wait to try all flavors. The only thing is they can not do any writing except a happy birthday sign.

Yelp
Finally not a block long line for this spot! From the outside, it looks like a typical Asian bakery (think Paris Baguette, Fay Da, etc.), but this spot is a nice spin on the classics. Their mochi egg tart was so good and their buns are all very fluffy and quite sweet. One thing to note though is that these don't taste so good the second day, so would recommend eating everything fresh! So delish!!

Yelp
New place for bakery and honestly all the ones I bought were so good! Better than most bakeries I have had. It's new and clean. Service is fast bc just take out. The buns are so good as well as the egg tarts.

Yelp
I came for the grand opening weekend. I was excited for the opening since I've been to 85°C bakeries in California many times and my favorite item is the giant marble taro bun. This location was smaller than other locations especially in California and Texas. There seemed to be large seating area upstairs though. I got the marble taro, matcha choco bun, and the Hokkaido egg tart. I wanted the mochi egg tart but they were sold out. There was a grand opening promo where you get a free NY cup with $20 purchase. Also, if you have the app, you get a free sea salt coffee or sea salt jasmine tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The marble taro bun and the other items tasted just like the ones in California. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great addition to Tangram mall! The pictures gave off Paris Baguette/TLJ vibes so I was expecting to hand over two arms and a kidney for the pastries but they were surprisingly very affordable. Absolutely loved the milk pudding bun and cinnamon twist! The marble taro was huge and tasted pretty ok. Mango custard bun was a bit disappointing though because the filling tasted very artificial and didn't resemble mango at all. Staff were all working very hard restocking the pastries that were flying off the shelves, and with a smile and friendly attitude to boot. Overall atmosphere was excellent. Next time I'm back in Flushing I definitely will be back to get one of their beautifully crafted (and affordable) cakes and check out their 2nd floor dining area!

Yelp
I'm happy that 85C has finally come to Flushing with its fresh selection of breads! A couple kinks they still need to work through however--there is no space to really eat or sit while waiting. Their upstairs area as very limited seating and seems to have alot of wasted space in the middle. Also, their drink ordering system is very chaotic. The workers making drinks are so busy that they don't have time to help customers. I tried to flag someone down for 30 minutes and they just wouldn't even look at you if it wasn't your order number they called. At the end it turned out they had made my order and stuck it in the fridge but never called my number. Very frustrating experience and I would caution anyone who tries to order online via their app.

Yelp
Finally opened an 85 degree bakery in New York City! I love how fresh these bakery items are, so savory and delicious, price is on par to other bakery's in the area but slightly smaller portions.

Yelp
4.5 stars I've been here a few times now.. always has a decent amount of customers.. mostly younger crowd.. We tried the Sea Salt Coffee since it was recommended and surprisingly it was really good. I completely agree with others that it is so much better than your typical popular chains but I think it's even better than lil cafes in the city. The coffee was strong yet still sweet but not too much. Now I'd like to try different flavors. The pastries were also pretty good as well. The croissant with chocolate was very crispy..L really enjoyed it..even my milk cream bun went really well with the coffee. Later on we ate a taro bun and it was flakey and it felt more substantial than other Asian bakeries. Definitely prefer this bakery over the other Asian French style ones.. The drinks are actually not expensive... compared to all these boba places in Flushing that are $7-9...I'd rather come here next time...also cuz I prefer coffee over tea...

Yelp
This is a fairly new bakery in tangram that is a welcome addition to the mall. Most things are baked on site and you can smell it when you walk in. I like that there are a diversity of buns, but they also have nice classics in there as well. Unlike other flushing bakeries, they are more reasonably priced for buns, especially given the size and also fillings that they put in. Today was my second time going to the bakery and I really enjoyed their hokaiddo milk bun, which had a nice sweetness, but still lightness of Chinese whipped cream. I don't know how to explain this, but there's a certain type of whipped cream in coconut pastries that have a tinge of salt that is classic for these type of buns when I was growing up. Anyway the workers are friendly- the only thing I wish they would do is to give you napkins when requested at the register. They said they don't have them so I had to walk to the drink pick up area to ask the worker there.

Yelp
I was attracted by a few 85C when I visited west coast. So when I heard that the brand is coming to flushing, I was excited! This branch may not be as big but better than most of the bakeries in Flushing. The bread selection is big and interesting. Not the same as the typical bakeries. The size looks smaller but price is reasonable. Bread is pretty soft and smell really good. I brought my purchase in the car and the car filled with the aroma lol The drinks are nice. So far I had the sea salt coffee and jasmine tea and they both tasted really good. I love them. The seating area is spacious but it may be occupied fully around 4-6pm.

Yelp
Finally 85 has made it to the East Coast! I went to the grand opening and it was great. Everything there was very tasty and it's fun when they yell fresh bread! The staff was nice and the space was clean. Glad to have them here and hopefully they will open more stores!

Yelp
great location in tangram. Been here a couple times, lines are always long but the line moves fast. Baked goods are a little on the expensive side but they always fresh and good for kids. I always buy for the next day and they always taste good even after two days. Would recommend

Yelp
The 85C franchise or this particular store (Flushing NY) has gone the way of average and mediocre. We ordered two 7" or 8" birthday cake with mango. The cake does not have any flavor to its taste, and the mango is green, sour, and not soft. Since we served it at a party of 20+ guests, this 85C location and the mango filling will not be their first choice for birthday cake. May be it is ok for your $2 bun. There are many Asian bakery stores in Flushing to choose from. Good luck.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by how good the wheel cake was!! I got the original matcha and cream wheel cake. It came out immediately which I was happy about. I was already full at this point and wasn't sure if I could finish the whole cake but with how smooth it was I chowed it down. The cream and matcha were so good together and with the warmth, chewiness, and subtle sweetness of the inside and the dough, I never got tired of the wheel cake for the whole experience! Very very pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Right by the entrance of the Tangram Mall. A lot of pastries - sweet and savory - and drinks. If a lot of people it can get cramped as there isn't the most straightforward traffic direction for those browsing through the baked goods. And there is a "belt barrier" to distinguish the checkout line but that is also small, and when there's a lot of people it clashes with those browsing, so that could be more streamlined. The upstairs area has ample seating. Not the cleanest looking space. The pastries and drinks themselves were good and fairly priced.

Yelp
It's crazy that 85 degrees C finally made it to NY. Sucks that it's all the way in Flushing, but still a welcomed addition. Most of the baked goods are always hit and miss for me, even in the west coast. Still the same here, but at least there's variety and there's always something that is good.

Yelp
Great prices and quality. We tried a couple of different pastries but had no idea what they were because the bakery was in shambles after the grand opening. nevertheless, everything we bought was delicious. will definitely return to try other pastries!

Yelp
CHYEAHHHHH BOY, about time 85* came to NYC! Super stoked to have them in town! The Berrytale & Mangotale are my staples so you know I'll be hitting this place up. Thanks for showing NYC some love!
