"Generations of USC Trojan fans have made their way through the sticky floors of the iconic 901 bar (called the “Nine-Oh”), the most popular student dive bar near campus. Don’t expect high-end cooking or crafted cocktails, just rabid fans cheering on the football (or other sports) team while downing plates of cheesy pizza and mugs of cold beer." - Farley Elliott, Matthew Kang

Stopped by before going to a LAFC game. It happened to be happy hour with the 2 for 1 drinks. That was a score. Server was great. Prices reasonable. It was the perfect stop off to meet up with friends before the game. I look forward to coming back!

Man this place has gone down hill since last time I was here a few years back. The service was awful. The menu was changed for the better I think. But going back to service. We couldn't get a drink from 30 minutes. Waited another 30 for a refill. While other tables around us got served. It was empty so no excuse for the delays. We made the best of the time and overall had a good time because of the people we hanged out with. Would I go back to place I used to hang out almost every weekend in my 20s probably not. Also being a Saturday I was expecting a crowd. Like I said it was dead. I am guessing it has to do with the service.

Hmmm... hole in the wall. It's uhh not a pleasant spot, overall. A) It's pricey. $15 for nasty bottom barrel tequila margarita. Close to $20 for 10 chicken wings. B) It's scammy. You pay a lot for a good drink. You get well liquor tastes like it sat in a plastic bottle for a while. C) It's unwelcoming. The staff are nice enough but seem fairly unhappy overall. I hear the owner is an absolute piece of work so that tracks. The doorman created an extremely unpleasant situation for a co-worker by falsely claiming he saw her getting beat up in the measly parking lot they have in the back. They went as far as calling the cops on my co-worker and her partner and claiming they have it on camera. They said she was being hit in a car in the parking lot meanwhile she was with us. I think the doorman was jealous of her partner. But that whole story carried into work with her for that month. Absolutely shameful of the doorman. D) The only nice thing is the DJ is good. But dude has to risk his life climbing a ladder to stand on a rickety platform above the floor to play music. Would not want to be caught up there during an earthquake. E) Parking is a nightmare.

Google
The environment and seating was comfortable. The waitresses that served us were attentive and friendly. The drinks and food were great. Even down to the music and what a great volume it was at was great. I highly recommend 901 Bar and Grill, try their long island iced tea, wings, and mozzarella sticks. I definitely hope to be back soon.

Google
Great drinks and food for a great price. Love all the video monitors for watching sporting events. The atmosphere is fun and the service is always awesome. Always up for a 9-O Burger or a Pizza!!

Was very full a lot of people very fun 😁 love it the food very good 👍

Google
Love this bar. It’s a usc classic bar. My only complaint is that the bouncer that lets people in is a weirdo. He flirts with young girls and many feel very uncomfortable. But other than that, great bar.

Dylan

Google
Service at the bar was horrible. One of the bartenders was hostile to most of the guests she interacted with and I personally was cursed at be I handed my card to her “out of order” all because the guy next to me wasn’t paying attention. When I tried to explain that she was serving the guy next to me she decided to yell curse me out. Disgraceful service.

Amber P.

Yelp
Great food and customer service. It's just trying to find parking. I was parked across the street in some other parking lot and the waitress was so nice to inform me that I should move my car and park closer to the bar which I did. He made a parking spot for me :-)

Galit G.

Yelp
It's a local SC bar under the management of Rocco's restaurant. So I expected the bar food to be delicious. Gordon Ramsy would have had a field day here. I ordered their version of a Philly Cheesesteak. On the menu, it said," with whiz and onions," Exactly they way I order my Philly when I travel back east to Philly. Not even close, tasteless. I asked for no peppers since I'm highly allergic to them. The first order came filled with green peppers, whiz and onions, and steak. The 2nd version was missing the Wiz. The burger tasted like a frozen patty. We came here to watch the Columbian-Argentian game. The staff was attentive, but when we told them the food was terrible. They got upset. Very loud atmosphere, not a fun place to watch a match. Supringly, the kitchen was spotless for a bar! And the women's restroom is super clean! Will not be back. Hire a better chef. Bar food should taste good, the customers will order more.

Yelp
Started my 2023 homecoming at the 9-0, WOW, talk about a transformation. Long gone are the days of a dark/dank dump that smells like pee and beer (90's era). They could use more servers on game day, but the internal aesthetics are great, plenty of televisions, and lots of tables, with good open lighting. #BRAVO

Yelp
Howler makes the best drinks, and he's great to look at. Love Alberto, always with a smile the best conversations, and then there's Jason, funny, nice, like the big brother bartender that always takes care of you. Actually they're all great to look at. Love this place. The food is great. Especially the Waffle fries with ranch and 911 sauce. Pizza amazing and best of all drink are 2for1 from 3:00pm to 9:01 pm.

Thomas H.

Yelp
The vibes are absolutely electric. If you aren't ok with being exposed to danger; this place ain't for you. The drinks are always flowing and the burgers are great. This burger tastes like one you get at a work bbq they give you instead of giving you a raise.

Bryan A.

Yelp
Sunday funday for some American football in the morning. Came in at 11am and had beers on tap, Pizza with jalapenos, and chicken wings. Pizza was better than it looked but the wings were mid. Plenty of TVs showing all the morning games and lots of cool sports memorabilia on the walls too. Service was great and the waiter kept coming back with water to help me and the boys stay hydrated. Will definitely come back to watch another game here.

Chan C.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! I used to have an issue where the waitresses charged another table with my card and gave me another person's card back. But now they seem to be better.

Michael H.

Yelp
2 for 1 deal is kind of a scam and very misleading. Two 15$ Margaritas were still $30. Server claims the deal was applied and "they're just expensive drinks" if this is implying they're $30 drinks that's criminal especially for a college bar. Other than outrageous price the viewing experience was good for game day but I'll be going to Rock n Reilly's for that

Mustang M.

Yelp
Good service and great drinks. I like coming to this establishment to watch my Dallas Cowboys play!!!

Natalie T.

Yelp
Cheap drinks, fun for games with the local dive bar vibes. Very much a "college bar" on the weekends

Robert W.

Yelp
Terrible bartender. Took forever to get a beer and ended up being kinda of harsh for no reason

Jacky S.

Yelp
Brian is the best! Beat customer service. The wings are delicious! 2 for 1 drinks! Can't go wrong!

Megan G.

Yelp
My production team and I came in for a few rounds of drinks after our rehearsal. We found a perfect spot for all eight of us, ordered our first round from our amazing server and really started to relax. After we ordered our second round, 901 workers started to take away our tables. We tried to cramp together to one table but the workers took even that one. It was extremely disturbing to our relaxation that we all left. I personally left feeling unwelcome!

Cristian Z.

Yelp
There's a bartender with a sleeve on his left arm, the most rude guy. Avoid this person, he'll ruin your night. Usually wears hat backwards.

Fernando H.

Yelp
Great food Great drinks Excellent service Greatest bartenders in the game (Howler, Jason, Alberto) Be sure to ask for Howler's special michelada and attend during football season

Andrea V.

Yelp
Our server Amanda was amazing! The happy hour has great prices, two for one and the pizza and wings were good

Erica B.

Yelp
Ok.. (sighs) AS A CURRENT TROJAN this was my first experience at this bar AND it could be my last. So when we first arrived around 5:30 yesterday, it was slow (which we like) we grabbed a seat and scanned the QR code to see the menu. The menu was pretty vague with no drink menu or prices listed. We wanted wings, there was a price for boneless and bone in BUT no price for how many pieces and the separate fee. We were told "pretty much your drinks is whatever you see at the bar" so we kept asking questions based on how vague the menu was like "ok can you make a Moscow mule? Or a Long Island?" we were also told because it was happy hour it was BOGO drinks (but not told the price until after the drinks were served we finally asked)so we ordered 4 drinks in total, mozzarella sticks, 20 piece wings, and fries. The drinks were not strong the slightest, but the food was great. They get 3 stars simply because the food was great for it to be bar food. My only concern was the misinformation that was given and how disorganized the service was. First we our fries were delivered to a table that arrived about 20-25 mins after us so then we were left waiting another 15 mins for new ones. At the end we got our tab and it shows our drinks were $13 each when we were told it was BOGO. Turns out it was buy a drink and get a shot for free? Still wasn't sure. Our tab came out to $105. Moving on to when we closed our tab, our waiter came back and said "oh btw it's an 18% "grat.tat.tuity" (I knew what he meant) for the finals or specials events" so he printed a NEW receipt with a DIFFERENT price of $125. We were confused because this should have been told to us as a disclaimer when we first entered to buy food. It wasn't posted anywhere or anything so we felt like we were being scammed a bit. We weren't even there to watch the game but of course we watched it because it was on the tv. It was kind of upsetting to not be told this beforehand, especially for someone who has never been. As a USC student my friends always come here and recommend it but the way this experience went, I'm not too entirely sure if I want to come back. Food was great but experience was a bit frustrating.

Yelp
One of my go to places before a concert at the shrine. It's a short walk to the venue from here. The main reason I come here is the 2 for 1 happy hour. I mostly get beer but other friends have been with me and when they get mixed drinks they are poured strong. Worth it especially if you are trying to pregame before a concert or any event nearby. We have gotten food also. I wouldn't say the food is something worth making the trip for, but by no means is it bad. We have gotten pizza fires, pizza and wings and they have all been very good. Finding a seat isn't too bad usually but if there is a game it will be packed. I have only been here when the only event going on nearby is a concert, so it wasn't extremely packed but I could imagine it gets crazy whenever a football game is going on. There is a security checking ID's and they do scan them so you must be 21 to enter. We have sat at the bar and at a table and no matter where we sat they came to check up on us and got us our next round pretty quickly. My go to spot when in the area and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

Pratima M.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots as a proud part of the Trojan family -- it's always a ton of fun on Wednesday nights and before and after USC football games. You can expect a mostly rowdy college crowds on Wednesday and Saturday nights. I'm a huge fan of the AMFs here as well and love the 9-0 shirts you can buy at the bar. Overall, a USC staple and fun time with friends.

Dora H.

Yelp
901 Bar & Grill is one of those places that draws in an interesting crowd. Because of its vicinity to USC, sororities, frats and downtown LA, you get a wide range of characters! The bar is dimly lit, with seating along the walls and bar style seating everywhere else. They have a decent selection of alcohol which includes specialty cocktails as well as beer on draft or bottles. They do have a menu for those who would enjoy small bites, or bar food! Your typical American fare, and nothing to rave about. It will definitely get the job done! It has a unique ambiance and you can bet that this place can get very crowded when a big game plays on TV! 901 also offers great specials on the daily, plus a 2 for 1 deal during happy hour! It definitely has good value and is worth checking out if you're ever in the area!

Melissa M.

Yelp
Love this place! I was sad when it closed for COVID and didn't see it open up as soon as other places! I thought it wasn't going to and I wouldn't have known what to do with myself!!! 901! BOGO until 9:01! Need I say more?!? YES! I HAVE TO SAY MORE! BECAUSE....this spot has AMAZING 50 cent wings on Wed. and their ranch is almost as good as Wingstops! (Can you believe that!) Bartenders are great! Margaritas are ok, Moscow Mules are amazing! Pickle back juice was a little sus but i mean...what the hell! Great Music! TVs for Sports! Interestingly decorated! Cons: It can get really packed since its basically USC's local bar. And parking can be wack, but I mean with a BOGO deal like that no one should be driving at all. Be safe! Drink Responsibly! See you there!

Raymond C.

Yelp
So many bars to choose from in LA where they put on a show, over price a simple well whiskey, and rush you along. This place is not one of them, the bartenders definitely make you feel home when you're at the 901. Great prices on all drinks that are made with love. Amazing food, especially for a bar and grill. Howler, Jason, Sarah and Alberto are all great people and some of my favorite bartenders around.

Munchkin G.

Yelp
Love all the bartenders there, my favorite Mexican candy drinks in LA. ALWAYS good vibes, Howler, Alberto, and Jason are all the best bartenders who know how to make great drinks and show u a good time.

Brittany B.

Yelp
Nice place! Went here to watch a game and pregame before a concert and it was great! Love the vibe there. staff was really nice! And drinks and food were pretty good!

Nolberto R.

Yelp
Amazing place. Fun and energetic whenever a game is playing. Bartender and servers are very nice and will help you.

DB Q.

Yelp
I love this bar!!!!! I'll be coming back often. 2 for 1 from 3pm to 901pm Friendly staff and good music too

Natalie M.

Yelp
I love the 9-0 and have been a dedicated customer, but unfortunately, Javier (the bartender/bouncer) was speaking very inappropriately to customers inside. He was screaming at the guests and using words such as "You're all broke a**es." Even was grabbing people by the arm and pushing them while in line for the bathroom. Management needs some fixing, as many guests expressed frustrations towards the staff. I am very disappointed by the customer service here, especially cause it is a fun place and has great food.

Mary P.

Yelp
The service here was great and the wings are even better! Plenty of seating too! Mischa is a great bartender! I also had a Michillada made by another bartender named Travis! I recommend the traditional wings with a side of ranch! This is a great place for college students or even someone wanting to catch a game cause there are too many TVs to count!

dayana a.

Yelp
Simply put, don't bother... take your money elsewhere. It's not worth the curiosity or your time.

Ashley F.

Yelp
Great atmosphere!!! So I came here to watch the NBA finals, it was great!!! Non stop cheering, I love the vibes!!!! Friendly staff, great service... the wings and waffle fries are sooo good!!! I love the 2 for 1 drunk specials!!! Only downside is parking... they have a lot in back which holds about 8 cars... finding stuff exactly parking is a nightmare with the construction... next time I'll uber/lyft... Can't wait until football season starts.... I think I just found my new spot!!!

Kandece B.

Yelp
Nice place to hang out at after a concert around the area or if you happen to be close by. The 2 for 1 drinks are a bonus if you like a certain drink. The wings are good to try on Wednesday because its .50 cent wings! I enjoy trying their craft beer when they switch it up. At the end of the day, this is a 100% college bar catering to students and the youthful crowd. Ive been coming here off and on for 4 years and have seen staff changes each year

Annabelle P.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE: THE BOUNCERS ARE DISGUSTING. They touched me and after I told them not to touch me, they became angry and kicked ME out. Cancel this place. As a woman who is not going to take men touching her, I ran back and took pictures of the men who were being assholes. After calling the manager, they did not help me at all and told me to call the cops instead of holding their own employees accountable.

Migdalia R.

Yelp
One of the loudest sports bars ever! Every game available is found on screens throughout the space. A lot of the USC crowd, since it's in the vicinity. Real easy for it to get rowdy. Didn't get to try the food, and it ends at 10pm. They have a good selection of drinks, be it beer or cocktails. Definitely for groups and sports fans, not for dates. You'll be yelling at each other the whole night.

Kate Lý J.

Yelp
People acting crazy here. Bad vibes. But there are no good bars near USC so I get it.

Alexis H.

Yelp
Sarah is the best ! 901 is the best! This place is great for usc students , esp Sarah and Ramil! Also, my Jewish bouncer BFF! They are so inclusive Xoxox

Erika L.

Yelp
Wings are real good, beers are nice and cool... does seem to get busy... service could've been a little better than what I expected.

Tana D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, fun place to meet up with friends and catch a game. I came across this bar with a friend as we were in the area and was so pleasantly surprised by the service and drink specials. We both ordered micheladas and received a huge mug plus another bottle of beer for such a reasonable price. Excited to come back!

Alaina P.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to come here for happy hour on a not so busy Friday. There was a good sized crowd but finding a table for 6 of us was a breeze. Let's get right to it... Happy Hour specials include 2 for 1 drinks and the cup sizes are huge! Drinks are strong so pace yourself, my friends. This was my first time at 901 and the margaritas were on point. Food: Chicken Wings- I recommend the hot buffalo wings and Parmesan garlic flavors ...delish! Italian Style Waffle Fries- Um YES please! Mozzarella Sticks- Nothing too special but I ate three so they must've been good. Parking was scarce. We had to park down the street and walk but it was a nice day so no biggie! I can imagine that this place gets packed when USC is in session and popular sports teams are playing nearby, so keep that in mind.

Jebb B.

Yelp
Do not go to this place under any circumstance. They do not value customers over 21. I have been going here for months, tipping extraordinarily well because it seemed like a low key bar without much traffic. The second the 19-21 super obvious white student crowd comes back they treat you like second class citizens. I will only go back to rob the employees of their just tips. Absolutely horrible.

Harper H.

Yelp
The bartender is great that's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. However the security/ bodyguard ( tall white guy) at the door is the WORST ! He is rude unprofessional and just mean!! He will let some girl walk into the bar without a mask, but then he will turn around and tell people who is wearing a mask to go to the bathroom that they need to move the mask all the way to cover the entire nose when the mask is already covered the nose! He will stand there and look at people like they are prisoners. He really make the whole experience at the bar just uncomfortable and horrible!! Never going back there again because of him!!

Ashlyn B.

Yelp
Honestly you might not want to come here if you aren't a student at SC! This was and probably still will be post pandemic the bar for the row. Great drinks (they frost their white claws?! It blows my mind), and a good place to go to watch a game/have some brews during the day as well. If you aren't trying to hang out with a bunch of college kids pick definitely go somewhere else

Corbin H.

Yelp
The bartender was being such an ass to other customers I had to leave. Just in case the staff reads this, 10/12 at 11:15am. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Tim G.

Yelp
Leave your snooty, too-cool-to-be-seen-in-the-presence-of-college-freshmen attitude at the door. If you can do that, you might very well enjoy this watering hole. On Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and even Wednesdays, this place is the Last Chance Dance for USC students who liked their date at the mixer they went to earlier that night, but didn't "like like" them. The result? A lot of hilarious fraternity-date-night-themed costumes, booth-dancing (usually to songs like "No Diggity,") and a few thirtysomethings who had no idea that they would play spectator to a date dash after the date dash. Luckily, we have the technology (**cough cough** Yelp reviews) that can give us an idea of what the vibe of a place is before waiting in line with aggressive college students who just want to pound AMFs and be seen with their friends in public. Tangent: what is an AMF, you ask? You needn't bother figuring it out, at least not here. Billed as a slightly-friendlier long island iced tea, this cocktail (for lack of a better word) features a lot of ice and 7Up. Even when this option is a special, it's probably not worth it here. My recommendation: let the rest of the clientele enjoy their bug juice with a splash of vodka and get something else, preferably not from the mixed drinks section of the menu. Service is generally good, the bathrooms and standing area are generally crowded. Don't expect to be able to sit down if you come here on a Friday or Saturday night. One other thing: they charge a $10 credit card minimum. I know, it's a drag. But the people-watching may be worth the cost.

Quisha H.

Yelp
This place isn't much to look at....okay it's NOTHING to look at but by golly I will come here every chance I get!! And I say this as a NON USC STUDENT!! 2 for 1 on ALL drinks weekdays until 9. It is impossible to leave here even remotely sober. I use to frequent this place after work when I worked down the street. PLEASE USE CAUTION...with the cheap prices and strong, tasty drinks it's easy to get carried away. 2 large Adios' are only 10 bucks. I always have the same waitress cute little blonde girl with glasses who always remembers what I like and is *super* nice I luv her!! Just a FYI once happy hour is over at 9 they clear all the tables out because apparently USC kids like to pack into this tiny space and dance. Also parking can be a beast as the lot only holds 15 cars (maybe) at the most.

Maria L.

Yelp
Good drinks and good wings.... No soap in the women's restroom to wash your hands and no seat covers. Lime juice they use for drinks is bitter so just stick to beer..

Melissa R.

Yelp
Dropped by on a Sunday for some pre-gaming with friends. We found street parking fairly easily (and parking is free all day that day!). Ordered some drinks, zucchini sticks, chicken nachos, and waffle fries. Zucchini sticks and waffle fries were great, chicken nachos came out with charred tortilla chips...when we brought it to our server's attention she breezed right over it and changed the subject to refills. We sucked it up and ate them anyways because we, admittedly, were way too kind and passive with the situation. Aside from that, the service was mediocre. What REALLY killed it for us? The music. Oh my godddddddd, was it depressing. Outdated Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow style songs that really messed with the mood and vibe we had going. We heard it was a hot spot for frats and stuff...which ones? lol. Considered grabbing and aux cord eight million times. The included gratuity was also a bit of a buzzkill. the service was alright but not worth a $33 mandatory tip. In retrospect, we should have sent the nachos back and ordered individually from the bar.

Cedrick A.

Yelp
There are some niche places in LA that don't look like much and end up being incredible. 901 is one of those places. My gf and I came here after the MLB Food Fest to watch NBA playoff action and loved it. They essentially have happy hour all day and night and the bartenders aren't stingy with the alcohol which we loved. Our server was amazing. Attentive and assertive. TVs everywhere with just enough intimate ambiance. Definitely a great spot to grab drinks. Can't wait to go back.

Kenneth S.

Yelp
This is a great place to watch sports here at the 901 whether it's football or basketball. They have great prices on their food and you cannot beat 2 for 1 drinks. The food is really good and there are plenty of TV's in the place. Not a bad view in the place. Our server was Christina and she was very nice and making sure we had everything we needed when it came to our food and drinks. The chili cheese waffle fries are so good and plenty of cheese. Will be back to get ready for USC and NFL football!!
