Refined homestyle fare & cocktails in a laid-back restaurant that has warm decor & vinyl records.
"When it’s too soon for a romantic date but more special than casual drinks, go to 93' Til in Montrose. The atmosphere is pretty loose and more lounge than restaurant. But there are cocktails, wine, and a full menu of maximalist-lite food to split with that special someone. Like a juicy fried chicken sandwich or an entire bowl of creamy foie gras torchon complete with peanut butter jelly sandwiches on the side. Even better, go on Tuesday or Wednesday and take advantage of the wine discounts during all-day Happy Hour " - gianni greene, chelsea thomas
"Montrose has a lot of small plate restaurants, but 93' Til feels more like a lounge and less like a restaurant. The whole place is pretty loose, where you can come as you are and grab a seat at whatever table suits you. And while the patio may look tempting, the inside is the place to be. Mostly because you can watch the bartender hunt through hundreds of records in between making cocktails (and the patio catches too many parking lot fumes). Like the music selection, the menu is a bit all over the place, but in the best way. You can go from bowls of foie gras torchon to vegan pasta to a slab of pork schnitzel in one short meal." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"When: Tue-Fri from 4-6pm The Deal: 25% off wine by the glass and 30% off bottles of wine (all day on Tuesday and Wednesday), $3 to $10 appetizers, and $6 to $10 cocktails Montrose has a lot of small plate restaurants, but 93' Til feels more like a lounge and less like a restaurant. Plus, it's got maximalist-lite food, like cacio e pepe popcorn and togarashi-spiced shishito peppers. The giant vinyl record library and generous Happy Hour menu are even more reasons to visit. It’s a great spot for a midweek date when you want to save a few bucks on wine." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene
"The structure of this Montrose place is pretty loose. It’s more lounge than restaurant, and it’s where to go when you need somewhere to drink natural wine, listen to vinyl records, and enjoy a giant fried chicken sandwich. And 30% off bottles of wine at Happy Hour doesn’t hurt. photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen When you walk into 93' Til, they’ll say, “Sit wherever you want.” And while the patio may look tempting, the inside is the place to be. Mostly because you can watch the bartender hunt through hundreds of records in between making cocktails, and the patio catches too many parking lot fumes. Like the music selection, the menu is a bit all over the place, but in the best way. You can go from bowls of foie gras torchon to vegan pasta to a slab of pork schnitzel in one short meal. 93' Til’s come-as-you-are atmosphere works as a last-minute weekday spot for a big group or for taking the pressure off a post-Menil date when you’re not sure you want a full meal. Food Rundown photo credit: Quit Nguyen Wine While 93' Til also serves cocktails, the wine list feels extra special. Mainly because the first page often features multiple bottles by one winemaker, with each category having a joke-y description. And because every bottle is 30% during all-day-Happy-Hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Shishito Peppers With a little extra togarashi spice added to this bowl of grilled, smoky peppers, you’ll eat this faster than you want to. But resist the urge to order another bowl because you’ll want to save room for everything else. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Grilled Broccolini We appreciate not only the light char on the broccoli, but also the generous pillow of whipped feta and crunchy sprinkle of pine nuts. And though there’s a lot of flavors going on here, it all works. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Torchon PB&J Even though this resembles a plate of grilled cheese triangles and tomato soup, it’s actually a bowl of seared foie gras with peanut butter and jelly on brioche pan de mie. It’s rich and sweet, like candied butter. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Chicken Sandwich This might qualify as the largest chicken sandwich in town. But in case you aren’t a competitive bodybuilder, picking this sandwich up could prove laborious. Split it with a friend instead. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Tres Leches Carrot Cake Every cake we’ve tried here—they rotate often—tastes moist, delicious, and never too sweet. This carrot cake is the same. And it's got a generous squeeze of cream cheese icing on top, like a perfect dollop of toothpaste in a commercial, but in the best way." - Chelsea Thomas
"This vinyl-playing Montrose hangout has finally introduced lunch service, and it's bringing back some of the classics. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., diners can find a host of salads and sandwiches, including its fan-favorite buttermilk-brined chicken sandwich that’s topped with a cabbage and kale slaw and its double patty, double cheese 93’ Til Burger that’s layered with Worcestershire mayonnaise, sherry onions, and house pickles. The menu is also available on Uber Eats." - Brittany Britto Garley, Megha McSwain
