"The structure of this Montrose place is pretty loose. It’s more lounge than restaurant, and it’s where to go when you need somewhere to drink natural wine, listen to vinyl records, and enjoy a giant fried chicken sandwich. Mostly because you can watch the bartender hunt through hundreds of records in between making cocktails, and the patio catches too many parking lot fumes. Like the music selection, the menu is a bit all over the place, but in the best way. You can go from bowls of foie gras torchon to vegan pasta to a slab of pork schnitzel in one short meal. 93' Til’s come-as-you-are atmosphere works as a last-minute weekday spot for a big group or for taking the pressure off a post-Menil date when you’re not sure you want a full meal. Food Rundown Wine While 93' Til also serves cocktails, the wine list feels extra special. Mainly because the first page often features multiple bottles by one winemaker, with each category having a joke-y description. And because every bottle is 30% during all-day-Happy-Hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Shishito Peppers With a little extra togarashi spice added to this bowl of grilled, smoky peppers, you’ll eat this faster than you want to. But resist the urge to order another bowl because you’ll want to save room for everything else. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Grilled Broccolini We appreciate not only the light char on the broccoli, but also the generous pillow of whipped feta and crunchy sprinkle of pine nuts. And though there’s a lot of flavors going on here, it all works. photo credit: Quit Nguyen Torchon PB&J Even though this resembles a plate of grilled cheese triangles and tomato soup, it’s actually a bowl of seared foie gras with peanut butter and jelly on brioche pan de mie. But in case you aren’t a competitive bodybuilder, picking this sandwich up could prove laborious. This carrot cake is the same.
