Words can't sum up just how decadent this place is. The food is over the top and can't be beat. Service is stellar and 5 star. The menu is huge!!! So many choices. Each is more indulgent than the last. Outdoor patio area is very nice with birds chirping and shade. This place is very special, but you will find excuses to treat yourself and keep coming back.

Google
Beautiful shaped over easy eggs. Thickest whipped cream I've ever had. Everything was plated artistically, and every single bite was delicious. Great espresso. Our server was incredibly attentive and very patient with our indecisive group. Menu had so many options to pick from, including spam dishes. Edit: I came back after another camping trip nearby, and quality stays consistently good. Their salmon was a bit tough but tasted great.

Google
The food presentation was good but the taste was not upto the par and the dishes were too expensive. For a $9 kid’s grilled cheese it was too expensive for a slice of bread. Giving them a 1-star for the service, they didn’t offer booster for our kid, didn’t give the kids goodies (wikki stix), and I had to ask twice for them to fill up my water glass. However, the server was too quick to grab the card from us, maybe they want us to leave quickly. lol. The space was too cramped up and not spacious at all.

Google
I had an amazing experience. The food was plated beautifully and our server Liz gave us great service. We sat in the patio and everything was brought to us in a timely manner. I left the place with a smile 🩷

Came here for lunch. Lots of gluten free options marked on the main menu. I had the ABLT sandwich with potato salad and salad. The frier is not safe so no fries or hash browns or tater tots.

Google
Absolutely amazing! The croissant French toast was amazing and fluffy! The waffles were delicious! The parfait was great and had fruit that tasted super fresh. The coffee and cappuccino were really good too. My only negative of an overall great experience was that it took a while to get the food, in particular the cappuccino, when it didn't look all too busy. Wasn't terrible though and the waiter apologized for the wait. Definitely coming back! Oh, also, the bacon is some of the best I've had.

Google
Easily one of our top favorite restaurants in the country. The best waffles I’ve ever had in my life. My favorite is waffles bacon and cream (try their different creams!! Strawberry, Bavarian, espresso…). Love their eggs Benedict (all versions), and LOVE the corned beef hash. There’s no canned corned beef found here. Real fresh brisket chunks!! Don’t miss out.

If you're craving authentic Belgian cuisine in a cozy, charming setting, The Belgium Cafe is the place to be. This hidden gem offers a fantastic menu with everything from rich crepes to perfectly crisp Belgian waffles. The food is flavorful, fresh, and with perfect portions that never disappoint. They also offer a Vegan menu. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with recommendations or a quick chat about the menu. Don't skip the Mimosa, Wine, and Belgian beer selection—it’s a perfect match for the meals. Whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or a more leisurely dining experience, The Belgium Cafe delivers both great food and a relaxed vibe.

Yelp
Got breakfast in this adorable little Belgian cafe on my way across the country. I inadvertently matched the ruby red grapefruit juice and accent wall and I was not at all mad about fitting in! The savory crepe I ordered was customized with fillings of my choice and I definitely got some artichoke, ham, and gruyere cheese. The hollandaise was great but the crepe was also surrounded by a thick Mornay type sauce and it was great! The Belgian waffle was good and not at all like the waffles I'm used to. This one is borderline dense yet still airy and sweeter than I anticipated. I did not care much for the bavarian cream as I mistakenly thought it would be more like the custard you find in donuts. I did not realize that the Bavarian cream would be a significant upcharge either. Bonus!!! The coffee was very tasty and since I like it black, I was happy I didn't have to doctor it up at all. All in all, I really enjoyed my brunch and would definitely return. Happy solo diner points given!!!

Yelp
The good: just about everything. Good coffee, eggs cooked to perfection, delicious hollandaise sauce. Signature Belgium waffles, and great service as usual (props to Martin). And nice atmosphere. Ongoing remodel work has left this place looking really classy. The not so good: potatoes were severely overcooked, some even burned. No bueno. But still, a very good place for breakfast and brunch. 1/2 out of 5.

Yelp
It is such a unique brunch place. It's difficult to get freshly made Belgium waffles, and I am glad there is one in Las Cruces! The waitress was attentive and friendly. She gave us some recommendations and the food she recommended were so tasty. We ordered green chile pork and eggs and huevos rancheros. Both of the dishes come with a Belgium waffle. We also ordered Bavarian cream to go with the Belgium waffles. We liked it very much. It wasn't too sweet! The restaurant was clean and the ambiance was kinda cute with European decorations. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Get a Benedict if you're here for brunch. The quiche was okay but the Benedicts are amazing and there are at least 5 different options including lobster and maybe crab cake if I remember correctly. Love the fun lattes too. Cute European cafe themed interior.
google avatar

Yelp
I want to start off with saying that the waffles were absolutely awesome. They are the closest thing I found to actual Belgian waffles here in New Mexico. They had a good variety and I got one waffle on the side with the Bavarian cream and it was absolutely great. I did order the skirt steak, which was not my favorite to be honest. Overall, it was too chewy. However, the hashbrowns were done very well.
google avatar

Sıla Yaren A.

Yelp
We came here and were intrigued by their waffles but I love a savory breakfast so I ordered an omelette! Of course we also ordered some Belgian waffles to try and they were definitely very to close to real Belgian waffles and the toppings were delicious. The service was super kind and quick! I'm leaving a four star review only because we had an incident that I'm not going to mention here. Everything got resolved and figured out at the end but I really think the kitchen needs some education on certain things. Otherwise everything was delicious, the breakfast cocktails were yummy!! They had a Bellini flight and it was really delicious to try different flavors with your meal.

Yelp
We found the restaurant to be well lit and clean with attractive wall hangings. Our good server made the brunch experience pleasant. My waffle was smaller than expected but tasted good, and the eggs Benedict was an excellent dish. The iced tea was refreshing and refilled as needed. Will go again.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great. We had breakfast and can't wait to go back for dinner. So glad we finally tried it!

Yelp
GREAT FOOD, DRINKS, AND SERVICE. I love the outside seating area. Just a lovely energy and time. Def worth a visit

Yelp
A change from the traditional flair in LC. Good food, especially breakfast. No fresh OJ. Dinner is a somewhat pricey for the ingredients used (surf & turf). Reliable and pleasant servers. Dining room appears clean, could use a warmer atmosphere as far as furniture and lightening, tapestries are awesome.

Yelp
Fantastic food ! Service was great. They helped us with our selection of breakfast. I had the homemade corn beef and hash. Probably the best I've eaten in NM. My husband had the waffles, eggs and bacon. Very good. No syrup required. Yeah it's that good. Come early ! Place gets packed. Yummy

Devyn S.

Yelp
Bite of Belgium? More like Bite of Disappointment. I was honestly excited to try this place, but everything was a letdown. The biscuit and waffle were dense, cold, and completely flavorless. The waffle even had random sugar chunks like someone forgot how to mix batter. And don't get me started on the hashbrowns--they tasted straight from the freezer aisle. For $60, I expected a hot, fresh breakfast... not something that makes McDonald's look gourmet. Total waste.
google avatar

Kayla V.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best Corned Beef's I have ever had. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I added a side of hollandaise and the waffle with blackberry cream. It was absolutely fantastic. The waitress was beyond great. The waffle had so much flavor it didn't need the blackberry cream but the cream was definitely worth adding. I can't wait to come back to this beautiful place. So many options and this was one amazing choice.

Jill P.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Poached eggs squirted yolk out-they were so undercooked. Salad was not fresh. Waffle was tasty. Ambience felt dark and old fashioned. Will not be back.
google avatar

Tanya S.

Yelp
Delicious!! I would recommend this restaurant hands down. The waffles are so good they don't even need a spread but love that they have such a variety of spreads. Those are cream based. Service was excellent. Great food & service a winning combination
google avatar

Yelp
So delicious!! Be prepared A Bite of Belgium is a bit pricey in some ways. But, it is worth it! We don't often get to Las Cruces early enough for breakfast, but when we make it this is our favorite place. Today was a little complicated. One of the restrooms didn't have any soap which always grosses me out. Our server was new and it was a little confusing at times. But all in all, a 5 star experience and we will be back! I highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
Delicious waffles, different than you are used to. Banana's Foster French toast was very good. Cadence was very nice and helpful. All staff were extremely pleasant.

Michael K.

Yelp
I've only tried it for dinner, but I definitely won't go back. If your cooking skills are so sub-par that you can't make an alfredo sauce just hang it up and quit. Lobster alfredo my ass, there were a few pitiful pieces of lobster, bare noodles, and a couple of pieces of cheese. The garlic bread was just toasted bread, and the salad was undressed. I would have been ashamed to serve that in high school, and what my mom got was no better and she didn't eat any more of it than I did. At about $20 an entree save yourself the money and get fast food; it'll be more satisfying.

Yelp
I visited from Illinois and had the pleasure of dining here twice--once in June and again in October 2024. This was my first experience with Belgian cuisine, and I absolutely loved it! Service: 5 out of 5 On both visits, the hosts and servers were exceptional. They were incredibly attentive and very friendly. While the host wasn't particularly smiley, they were still welcoming. The servers, on the other hand, were both friendly and cheerful. Ambiance: 4.5 out of 5 The restaurant's decor is unique and cozy, creating a warm atmosphere. It's clearly a popular spot, as it fills up quickly. My only suggestion would be to reduce the number of tables by 10-20% to make it easier to navigate the dining room, especially when it's busy, as it can get quite loud. Food: 5 out of 5 I made it a point to try Belgian-specific dishes on both visits. During my first visit, I had a Benedict with greens on the side--something not typically found in the U.S.--and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were high quality, and the presentation was lovely. They also keep the food covered until it reaches your table, ensuring it stays hot. On my second visit, I tried the Pork Green Chiles with eggs, hash browns, and a small Belgian waffle. The food was flavorful, hot, and very fresh. The waffle, in particular, was outstanding. Despite usually preferring savory breakfasts, I now know that I'll be leaning towards the waffles or other sweet breakfast options in the future--they're simply unmatched! Special coffee drinks: 3 out of 5 I ordered a double Latte's at each visit. They were about $7+ each. They were flavorful, but a little too sweet. Unfortunately, also, they didn't come to the table "HOT." If I'm paying that much for a special coffee drink, it should be top tier. I look forward to coming back, I recommend this place to anyone! Try it!

Yelp
I filmed a YouTube video here for mine and my best friends YouTube. The music was a little too loud so I might not post it. But the crepes with Bavarian cream are to die for. I added strawberry to mine. The Arnold Palmer could be more sweet to me, but maybe I have a sugar problem. My waitress was really nice and told me it was ok to set up my tripod and gave me a great corner to film in. I appreciated that part the most.

Yelp
Wanted to know what all the hype was, so I came for valentines Day. Their food is really good, but I also have had better for a lot less money. The atmosphere is cool but could be nicer. Waiting time it took forever even though they were not that busy. Definitely want to come back and try their lunch menu. Breakfast was good, but I wanted to try their steak and eggs for my next visit.

Ali L.

Yelp
There are beautiful tapestries decorating the walls in A Bite of Belgium. Everyone in our party had the liege waffles. None of them were warm and they were quite hard. If the waffles hadn't been a huge disappointment I would have given five stars. I had the waffles, bacon, and cream. The vanilla whipped cream was good, but the texture was very thick and not what I expected. The hashbrowns are little triangle shaped patties. Nothing special, but they were good. We had good service-it was our waitress's first day and she did a very good job for just starting off. Here's something I found odd-the kid's meals have two small liege waffles and are served with a meat option, and the adult meals are served with the same two small liege waffles with a meat option, but are much pricier than the kid's meals.

Yelp
The menu can be pretty extensive and overwhelming but they can basically do whatever you want! Belgian waffles with Greek yogurt 4/5: I asked to get it with blackberry cream as well so I think they replaced my yogurt with that by accident? It was still very tasty and they use fresh fruits! Comes with a lot of granola as well Corn beef hash 4/5: flavors were there, potatoes are a little dry, very good portion from meat to potato ratio

Jamie C.

Yelp
Great food, great service! The best corned beef hash I've ever eaten and the Liegé waffles are just like the ones in Belgium. Nice and clean. Liz, our server, was very attentive, friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
This is an extraordinary breakfast spot. The liege waffles have that crunchy pearled sugar like you would expect from a liege waffle (not an American Belgian waffle). Honestly, you don't need anything on them at all, especially syrup because they are so sweet. *But* the lemon cream topping is exceptional if you want something extra. The other toppings are good, but not worth the calories for me personally. I prefer lemon or nothing at all. The corned beef hash is fresh and house made, and very good, not greasy spoon. The bacon is actually great quality, thickly cut and crispy. Coffee is also decent. Cute place inside, very clean, and thankfully no TV's, I really enjoyed the whole experience. Very nice and accommodating people working here, I have no complaints at all. Worth it.

Yelp
We decided to try this restaurant for dinner, which is new-ish at Bite of Belgium. The reviews for brunch were glowing - we thought how bad can it be for dinner? Welllll - not exactly at the brunch level. We received tasteless food served semi-warm. We have no complaints about the service, which was attentive. But for $70, we can do better elsewhere. We won't be going back - not even for brunch.
google avatar

Jeneane B.

Yelp
So good...! I may come back for breakfast again tomorrow, while I'm still in town. The portions are so big, which is especially good before heading out to hike for the morning. I got the omelet and waffle breakfast. The omelet comes with thinly sliced ham and gouda cheese melted on top. I added spinach to mine, and it was the perfect combination of flavor. The waffles are just a little crispy on the outside and sweet and doughy inside - unlike any waffle I've had before, and now I think they should all be like this. I had the espresso cream, which was rich and sweet, and a great compliment to the waffle. Service was great! My server was really nice and prompt with everything and super personable. He made great recommendations with confidence, which I love in a server.
google avatar

Joseph H.

Yelp
The staff was fun and friendly, the ambiance was ok (nothing that will spark a pleasant memory), music was not bad (even though a speaker above us was blown, and the food was kind of meh... I got the salmon bagel and even the capers tasted flat. Wife and daughter got waffles but had about the same "it's better than fast food" opinion. Now for the bitter part of the experience, the price... it's just not on par with the quality rounded out to be around $70 for 3 of us (plus tip). I mean, that not crazy expensive but for what it was? No, I'm sorry but no. Maybe we caught them on a bad day and I never write off a place based on one experience so I'll give them another go but as of now I'm not adding this place on my list of go to restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
Updating my review...accepts walk in. There are many choices for their whipped cream to top their waffles, check prices if you order multiple. Ordered green chile hatch with egg.

Yelp
You might not expect a top notch Belgian restaurant in Southern New Mexico, but here it is! I came for brunch and ordered the Menage a Trois - the liege waffles (which are the specialty of the restaurant) were incredible. They are denser and in my opinion tastier than ordinary waffles. They were also the perfect amount of sweetness. The waffles came with delicious lemon mousse and Bavarian cream along with the chocolate sauce and fresh fruit. This was a good portion size and good value for $13.10. I also tried the BBB (Belgian Breakfast Brioche- $11.35), which was pretty good with a tasty brioche, but not as amazing as the waffles. The restaurant is a classic NM-style building, and although the inside might not look particularly well-decorated or nice, it has a certain homey character to it. There is a decent amount of seating inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The service speed is pretty quick. There is a parking lot right across the street, which is convenient. We only had to wait for 5 min for a brunch on a Friday holiday. Overall, if you are looking for a great brunch spot in Las Cruces and are interested in taking a break from the New Mexican cuisine, then I would highly recommend A Bite of Belgium.

Lisa V.

Yelp
Great food and service. Waffles were very good. Also cheese omelette was very good. Side of potatoes had great flavor; didn't need ketchup.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Maybe it was because they had a "big party" (didn't see it though) in front of us, but all three of the plates we ordered were quite under par. The huevos rancheros were recommended to me, but they were easily the worst huevos rancheros I've ever had. I even ordered extra red and green salsa ($4), but even that couldn't liven up the plate. It took about 30 minutes for us to get our food and the food looked like it had been prepared in much less time.
google avatar

Arthur S.

Yelp
What to say- the food was amazing and the ambiance was too. However I was sat by a table with people having a very disrespectful conversation about transgender people. I asked the staff to be moved away from them and they complied but I was informed that the table in question included the 'boss' of the restaurant. Very unpleasant revelation. While the place is amazing I will not be going back.

Andrea D.

Yelp
What a great place for breakfast or lunch. Interesting menu and delicious food. The staff was great and the restaurant was very clean. Highly recommend..

Doug C.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service and staff. Lots of gluten and dairy free options. I recommend it to everyone going through Las Cruces.

Yelp
Since fine dining is virtually non-existent on Las Cruces, this review is that hope that this restaurant will be successful after some 13 years of its existence. We started with a Bellini sampler and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I had a Gadsby salad which had the dressing pre-tossed dressing. Could have asked for more dressing. The mixture of salad veggies was very nice. Our entrees were scallops (very large, Kennedy 50 cent coin-size) with very tasty bacon sauce. The pot roast was also very savory, but I had to ask for a portion of gravy made from pan drippings. Their aim is provide fine dining to a largely sparse dining scene in Las Cruces. We wish them well and we be patronizing in the future. Hope readers of this review will come, too.

Melly M.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible!! Got the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits hard as rocks gravy flavorless, and also got hash browns . They are not real hash browns . Frozen little triangles. McDonald's makes better ones. I will never return here again. It can't be that hard to mess up biscuits and gravy. But they mastered it

Tamera A.

Yelp
We had the most amazing experience last night and I just wanted to take a minute to give them a shout out. The menu was very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. They also have a full bar and some really great wines by the bottle and by the glass. There were really excellent options for all of us and I'm looking forward to heading back on their half price bottle nights, which I think are Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Here is an example of a local restaurant we all need to be supporting more often. We will definitely put them at the top of our list when we are heading out for a meal.

Yelp
This is a fantastic place to eat breakfast! They are open early and there is no wait. Even if you're not into waffles, worry not, they have an extensive breakfast menu. You can even get a little mini-waffle as your side. Service was also fantastic and coffee was piping hot and tasty. My only issue: the creams. You can had a side of their house-made creams. I got a side of bavarian cream. It was absolutely delicous, but it was $3, for a tiny little ramikin. One of the most expensive sides I've ever gotten in terms of cost per ounce! They, smartly, don't list the price of this side. Here are the prices of other sides, for comparison: Sides TWO SAUSAGE PATTIES $3.40 TWO SLICES OF BACON $4.20 THICK SLICE OF HAM $4.45 KIELBASA $3.40 TWO JUMBO EGGS $5.05 TWO EGG WHITES $6.10 HASBROWNS $4.20 HOME FRIES $4.20 PASTA SALAD $4 GREEN CHILE $1.65 SALSA $1 AVOCADO $1.80 HOLLANDAISE SAUCE $1.70 PURE MAPLE SYRUP $1.50 CHOCOLATE GANACHE $1.70 GLUTEN-FREE TOAST $5.25

Yelp
First time patron, based on Yelp recommendations. I ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. Undoubtedly the best I've ever
google avatar

Yelp
My veggie sandwich was delicious (on sourdough). The house salad dressing was wonderful and the fries were regular. I got a potpourri tasting lavender lemonade which was good and interesting. The food took WAY too long to come out.
google avatar

Debbie I.

Yelp
Best cappuccino in the area. Breakfast is always good. The staff is nice. I'm not a fan of the waffles but there are plenty of other good choices. Nice variety of Mimosas too! It can get quite busy resulting in a bit of a wait. I have not tried their dinner partner yet but I plan to.

Ken G.

Yelp
Great service. I liked the crepe but waffle was very disappointing. It was dry like it had been frozen.

Alex S.

Yelp
Food very good service also very good!! Many options and the place was not to noisey would recommend
google avatar

Gaz H.

Yelp
3.5. Is it very Belgian? Well, they have the right waffles. So there is that. Otherwise, this is a creditable breakfast and lunch establishment, where super friendly and enthusiastic servers bring out freshly prepared dishes of high-quality. I didn't particularly enjoy my cafe latte, but it got the job done. Probably a regular drip coffee kinda vibe. They offer a special no meat menu for Lent, so probably a good option if you have particular Catholic dietary requirements. :) Clean bathrooms and a small patio at the back.

Maria S.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing!! Seasoned perfectly, sauced with just the right amount, cooked to dang perfection! The vanilla latte was super yummy. The service was great and very helpful and answering any questions I had! The restaurant was clean and all of the staff were friendly!
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Be warned. I've been fooled twice. This place is ok. Kind of a weird waiter vibe. The waffles are not what you expect. They are the sugary waffles you can buy in a package. Maybe they are freshly cooked but they are not your typical Belgian waffles. I'm not a fan.

Yelp
Thanks Yelpers for directing us to A Bite of Belgium. We were passing thru town on our way to Arizona and so happy we wandered in. We were able to sit in the heated patio. That was nice. Very crowded on Sunday, but by the time we arrived things had chilled out. Excellent choices on the menu and the beer options looked great. Another time. The BBB is excellent and wife had two eggs, english muffin, and crispy bacon. Excellent. Great service too. I hope the city is aware this is one great restaurant.

Michael S.

Yelp
Tuesday October 1st, Table 13 9am. Disappointing second visit. Ordered the eggs Florentine and my partner had waffles and cream. My order was tepid at best, and we know tepid poached eggs are not good. Home fries were cold. My partners waffles, were cold, stodgy, and seemed as though they had been frozen at some point. Maybe that contributed to their temperature. This was in contrast to our first visit where everything was good. the waitress asked how the meal was, I told her my food was tepid and my partner's was cold. She basically shrugged off my comments. Needless to say, last visit to Bite of Belgium for us. (resident of Las Cruces)
