Well known handmade fresh Ice cream super yummy with great flavors. Seating inside the hallway. Perfect side window view of all the action. Great family time!

Google
accidentally found this ice cream shop located at a super cute neighborhood, even have an alley nearby with nice decorations we got the orange honey usually a 2 scoops cup is too much for us but this flavor, we can eat a whole pint the taste is rly refreshing probably the top 3 ice cream we ever had will definitely be back

Google
Edit: their vegan options seem to come and go. There was a couple month stretch where there were no vegan options. I had the vegan salted caramel—it blew my mind. I’ve never had such creamy, flavorful vegan ice cream before (granted most of what I’ve tried has been store-bought). They have two other vegan ice creams which I plan to try in the future.

Good ice cream with fresh local ingredients. Prices are reasonable and staff is f friendly. They will let you sample the ice cream if you ask.

Google
You can’t get two different flavors in the same bowl cuz they make them individually I tried the strawberry balsamic, tho it was a little sweeter for me, it’s still pretty good and I like the texture!

Google
Great ice cream haven’t had this level quality ever tastes better then other ice creams I’ve had. I got the avocado vanilla with honey top. It can get sticky (it’s honey). Small amount of seating but able to walk outside most of the year.

Google
Great overall experience. Fun watching the ice cream being made, fun interacting with the friendly staff, and fun eating! We got orange honey, brown butter chocolate, strawberry, and chocolate chip. All tasted fresh and natural. I’ve never had a waffle cone this good. It was thick, not brittle, almost like a cookie. There’s not much room to wait inside when there’s a line, but the staff moves fast and it takes about 5 minutes after you order. Across the street are some outdoor tables.

Omg omg 😱 come come ! You will fall in love with this place ! 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️ best ice cream ever

Yelp
The best ice cream in all of Redlands! Service is always friendly no matter how busy they get. Recently, they put in double doors, and that has helped a ton in terms of it being claustrophobic. All the flavors are awesome, though, on a hot day I have been enjoying the lemon custard with the strawberry compote on top. If you're in the area, go check it out!

Yelp
Stopped in really wanting ice cream and recognizing this place for when they used to have a spot in old town Orange. We were slightly greeted when we walked in, but it felt kind of awkward while we were looking at the menu. I went with the salted caramel, and my mom went with the espresso. We both ordered the small or mini. My ice cream came out almost immediately while my mom's was a couple orders behind me for some reason. I figured maybe I had ordered a flavor that was already in the process of being made. The inside the store has maybe one or two seats. And the outside of the store has absolutely none. My mom and I had to walk around most of downtown to find somewhere to sit since most restaurants claim their little tables outside. Our ice cream was good. It melted very fast and it wasn't even a very warm day. My ice cream had an overbearing aftertaste of milk. And I get it, ice cream is made from milk, but it was just something that I couldn't kick.

Yelp
Must-visit for ice cream lovers who want something special. Super fresh, made‑to‑order ice cream with creative flavors; cozy, vintage décor; friendly, engaging staff. Pricy for a scoop and limited seating means it gets crowded fast--so maybe avoid peak times.

Yelp
A la minute used to be amazing because they'd literally make the ice cream fresh right in front of you. Most of the employees were friendly and welcoming but a few did have altitude. The place is small and we'll maintained. The ice cream is delicious but the only reason we were willing to pay so much for ice cream is because we got to see it being handmade. Unfortunately they don't do this anymore. So we stopped coming.

Yelp
The brown butter flavor was super yummy! Loved the bits of toffee. It was expensive of course, as ice cream parlors usually are, but it was worth it as a fun social treat with a friend. It's a nice shop but a little dark on the inside. I would love if there was seating, so you don't have to eat it in the car. The area didn't feel super safe so I don't recommend standing around outside eating especially at night. I also find it a little strange that you can't get different flavors if you get multiple scoops. The employee explained it as them making it to order so you can only get one flavor per cup, but that didn't really make sense to me. You can sample the flavors so if they're made to order I don't understand how you can try samples..? Either way, it feels standard to let you mix and match flavors, and without that option I don't have reason to ever get anything but the smallest cup, personally.

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked for the longest time since college and now finally got to try it! We walked in and it honestly immediately smelled funky lol. I remain to be hopeful and that the ice cream is still good, so I went ahead to order. I ordered a mini chocolate lavender, and it was actually pretty good! The consistency is nice and thick, tastes rich, and the lavender was quite fragrant. I liked how they added honey on the spoon too, so it makes each bite even a bit more sweeter. Although I didn't really like the cocoa nibs(?) they added on top. It was too bitter and hard to eat it with the ice cream. Overall, it was good! Nice to try and the service was quick and efficient as well.

Yelp
Our favorite ice cream spot in downtown Redlands! It's a short walk from the new Redlands public market!

Yelp
ten years later and still the same amazing quality, still the same cow on the wall.. despite me being ten years later and cannot tolerate dairy. i shared an orange sorbeto with my daughter. it was refreshing and light. just the right amount of sweetness. if you've ever been to Sóller on the island of Mallorca, this was reminiscent of my recent visit there. in the same way that Redlands is known for their history of orange groves, so is the same with Sóller! all the gelato stores have orange sorbetto, and i hadn't had another one since then. the best thing about this scoop of orange sorbet is its simplicity. no added artificial colors or flavors.. why mess with nature's best? à la minute gets it! i hope to be back in another 10 years to enjoy this again!!

Yelp
I have a type. It's à la minute Fall specials. They are always well balanced flavors worth driving to get. On today's visit, there was somehow no line... Yet. My punishment is having to smell freshly made waffle cones without getting one.

Yelp
Our favorite ice cream spot of a la time. It's tiny and crowded, but it's 100% worth it to take your time and get the best ice cream you've probably ever had. We've tried every flavor, and haven't been disappointed. They have a great rewards program and also are very easy to work with when we needed a large quantity order of pints for a corporate event. My personal favorites: 1. Sea Salt Caramel -- it's simply perfect 2. Lemon Custard (with a strawberry compote) -- after a meal when you need something lighter 3. Vanilla -- when you just need something familiar If you aren't familiar with the area, here are a few other places to hit up that are all a short walk away: 1. Finney's Crafthouse for an amazing pizza, burger or brew 2. The State for amazing poutine, tacos, burgers, cocktails & more 3. Board Game Paradise for a great selection of board & card games 4. The Frugal Frigate is beautiful little children's bookstore 5. A Shop Called Quest has some great comics and far too many funko pops Pro-tip: look for all three Waldo's in the store!

Yelp
Waiting for the District to open we decided to get ice cream next door. Nice people working there, but the wait was incredibly long. I get it... each scoop has to be singularly prepared, but really long wait and a packed little place. Definitely started to get hot with a bunch of people waiting. We also thought the flavors were ok but not the best we've had. For reference we got the strawberry balsamic and espresso chip. We also got the waffle cone which was more pancake in texture. Kind of soft and a little less sweet than we like in a cone.

Yelp
CREAMY HANDCRAFTED NITRO ICE CREAM! Hot damn this was amazing, I was looking for a sweet treat after an event at the Redlands Bowl and saw that this place was literally down the street on Citrus by the Redlands Underground! I saw the major line outside after 10pm and was reluctant but I had intent. Yes, I traversed the pot-infested, seedy underground just to get a specialty ice cream and I'm so happy I did after walking through the nightmare and long line. I got a large (3 scoops) Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel ice cream cup, it was delicious! I'm a huge toffee fan, this ice cream scratched that itch and more! The nitro specialty ice cream has the right texture and it didn't melt easily, it was perfect! The staff was super nice, the girl at the register answered my questions and was friendly despite the busy environment! Á la minute's staff knows how to work under pressure and they were very professional! Some of the patrons were ogres and the staff still treated them kindly. I do not recommend coming here after 8pm as there's a lot of smoking and vaping going on outside and nearby. The patrons were very shady, I wouldn't bring kids late at night. I found á la minute to be very warm and inviting, it has a cool atmosphere but not so trendy that it makes you cringe. Prices are a bit higher but come on, we're talking quality ice cream here. The ice cream joint is also very inclusive, LOVE THEM! Oh and I posted ice cream prices in my pics below if you're interested! Tip: Come EARLIER in the day to avoid the gangbanger patrons and shady folks.

Yelp
The ice cream is bomb! The chocolate lavender, fresh mint and espresso chip are my favorites. I love watching them make the ice cream, it's one of the best parts of ordering ice cream from here! I definitely need to try the beet and goat cheese and the brown butter chocolate!
google avatar

Yelp
Ala minute is one of my favorite ice cream places hands down! When it first opened I thought it was interesting concept of freezing ice cream on the spot. This is a local's favorite with how they use fresh ingredients from local farms and even the chocolate taste different. They have a lot of flavors that they get inspired from their local flavors and one of my personal favorites is the chocolate lavender. It has cacao nibs with a slight lavender honey that bring in a refreshing taste to your palette. 10/10
google avatar

Angela V.

Yelp
Delicious nitro ice cream! Well worth the line out the door. The Brown Butter Chocolate Caramel flavor is so good. The ice cream itself was lighter than expected but I enjoyed it. The cocoa nib toffee on top added a nice crunch to each bite.
google avatar

Timothy L.

Yelp
If you love sour, the lemon custard is for you! The strawberry compote adds a bit of sweetness and works well with the taste combination. The large size gives a generous portion and is worth the wait! I can see why there's a line out the door and the service is fast. The inside is also very nice with good music!
google avatar

Yelp
This place serves up some really great ice cream. This is my second time here, the first time I was here I ordered the espresso chip and this time I got the salted caramel. I'm not sure about the entire formatting or process honestly but they make each order individually so you cant customize or order perhaps two scoops in one cup. I honestly don't get how or why it's a big deal but apparently it is. Imo that limits this place from just being my all time fav ice cream spot but it's still very good. Also, be prepared to wait atleast 5-15 minutes for your order depending on on how busy it is. The shop is cute but tiny so I found myself waiting outside until the line went down.
google avatar

Yelp
THE ORANGE HONEY. Insert clapping emoji between the words. Y'all, my Chinese doctor told me not to eat iced things yet I still ate many scoops of this dessert not being able to stop myself. This place makes ice cream from scratch using liquid nitrogen in mixers with fog coming out of the bowl. The ice cream itself was so creamy and rich, but also has an orange undertone. The whole ensemble was topped with a net of orange blossom honey. If you're looking for a dessert place to stop by on the way home from a weekend trip to Big Bear, this little place in downtown Redlands may suit your needs. Though, I would warn against using the bathrooms because the hallways and bathroom had a spooky vibe.

Yelp
Food: alright tis time to finally leave a review here after coming for the 100th time in the last 3 years. What can I say, I just keep coming back again and again despite downtown redlands having 2 other icecream places not too far from here, those pale in comparison. My bf's favorite is chocolate lavender, but my personal favorite is strawberry balsamic. The tart balsamic sauce on top really complements the sweet strawberry flavor icecream underneath and the two in combination are simply magical. If I lived walking distance from this store, I'd already be diabetic from eating this everyday Price: my go to size is regular, which is $6, no complaints here! Ambiance: small space that can only fit like 10 people inside, and it can get crowded since it is the best icecream place in all of IE. Hipster vibes, displays cool artworks on the qall that you can purchase, no seating, only grab and go. I've done plenty of dates where we grab the icecream, then go walk around the downtown area up and down, very cute and romantic Service: nice friendly people who also look cool and hipster, they always seem to be having a good time making delicious icecream Parking: it's downtown redlands, there's street parking, but you can always park inside the public parking structure across from martha green's eating room
google avatar

Jay M.

Yelp
Best ice cream I ever had. Reminds me of a home made and hand made Ice cream like this beats afters by a lot I'm sorry to say. The service is amazing but the size of the establishment is tiny so not that many people fit inside to wait. That's why you see people wait outside

Yelp
À La Minute is a small ice cream shop located in Downtown Redlands. The shop has a vintage style, with lots of art. There's minimal seating and it's hard to find parking. The restroom is the next building over. They have lots of unique flavors and the ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen. It's fun to watch them make it. Service was great; there was a large group but the ice cream came out really fast. Overall, ambiance and service was great. Ice Cream We ordered the salted caramel, the chocolate chip, and the vanilla olive oil. All the ice cream is very thick and creamy and all the flavors have a natural taste. The small size was $6 and is a great portion for price and effort to make. The salted caramel was sweet and the salt gave it a nice balance to its sweetness. The chocolate chip had an earthy chocolate flavor that went well with the cream base. The vanilla olive oil was slightly sweet and savory and a great choice if you don't enjoy super sweet things. Overall, I highly recommend trying them out if you're in the area; my absolute favorite ice cream shop. Overall: 5 The ambiance + service: 5/5 The ice cream: 5/5 The price: $$

Yelp
Always an amazing experience here. The employees are nice, welcoming, and helpful. All the flavors are amazing. I always get chocolate lavender or mint n chip and it never disappoints. Solid place that has built great memories with my friends and family. Only con would be the long lines, but it is worth it! Out of all the ice cream places in redlands, I recommend this

Stefani S.

Yelp
Service! Ice cream! Delish & Unique!! Try it!! You will return!! It's never been a disappoint!
google avatar

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Finally came back for my favorite ice cream place! The place is tiny but cute. Parking is still a little challenging. However, service is fast. Expresso chips, fresh mint chips and salt caramel are the best! You can only get one favorite at the time. The waffle cone is solid but a little too sweet.
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
Each ice cream is made to order so expect a wait for your sweet treat. I like how unique the flavor options are. You can't find these combos elsewhere. I do wish they could somehow let you sample the flavors or let you get multiple flavor options. It's a small store so there's not much seating inside. What we ordered: - Brown butter chocolate caramel: I loved the light chocolate taste. It almost tasted like frozen hot chocolate. The cocoa nib toffee pieces elevated it. - Orange honey: Super refreshing and unique combo. The orange was citrusy but not overpowering.

Yelp
we were craving a sweet treat after dinner so we pulled up to a la minute! got the avocado flavor because i wanted to reminisce the time i had a homemade icy vietnamese avocado condensed milk jelly dessert. this certainly was not what i was envisioning but it 100% satisfied my sweet toof nonetheless. also the honey drizzle was so satisfying so i'll give an extra star for that.

Cathy P.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream and super friendly staff. This place is always my treat to myself whenever I am in the area. I love their unique flavors.
google avatar

Yelp
Creamy, sweet, and natural tasting ice cream. A la minute provides an amazing experience by having flavors that taste very natural yet super tasty. This ice cream is worth it! They have vegan options! The service was fast even while busy! It is a small shop in downtown Redlands, there is minimal indoor seating but various spaces to stroll around and eat your ice cream. Rating: 10/10

Annika B.

Yelp
Á la minute has the best mint ice cream in the world. It is extremely fresh and nothing compares. I would go every week if it were closer! Please come back to Orange County!!! :)
google avatar

Always Honest M.

Yelp
All flavors I've tried have been delicious. Servings made to order. Staff always very polite.
google avatar

Brittney S.

Yelp
CHOCOLATE. LAVENDER. I crave this all the time. Staff is very friendly, the shop itself is tiny so hopefully you don't wait in line for too long. Flavors are so unique and they add a little treat on top of your scoop that compliments the flavor. Don't waste any time reading more reviews & GO!
google avatar

Jeanie L.

Yelp
Was in the area and was craving for some ice cream so decided to stop here. It's a small little shop with no seating area but you can go outside to the benches. The workers were very nice and offered us samples. They do have some interesting flavors but we settled for the espresso chip ice cream. I think it's a bit lacking when it comes to flavor. I would've liked if the espresso flavor was stronger.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
We drove from Victorville to Redlands on a Saturday night (3/8) for ice cream. We arrived at 9 PM to find a sticky note saying they will be closing at 8 PM that day. Extremely disappointing, very unfortunate and unprofessional.

Tabitha B.

Yelp
À La Minute? Drive there this minute! You want a made to order silky smooth delicious ice cream? Head over right now. I had the lemon sorbet with strawberry sauce on top. I don't even like strawberries and I loved it! Can't wait to go back and try more flavors.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Been coming here for the past couple months and their Salted caramel is amazing 10/10. It's a perfect ice cream date
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
I love this ice cream shop so much. The ice cream is such high quality. The employees are nice and their service is very attentive. They allow sampling of the ice cream flavors, which is amazing because their flavors are so dynamic. The shop is cute, almost rustic - there is not much space to eat inside but a lot of people eat outside. They have 1-3 scoop options. However unlike most ice cream shops, if you get multiple scoops, you can only get one flavor. I imagine this is due to it being nitrogen ice cream and they make the servings fresh.
google avatar

Mona S.

Yelp
Really good ice cream, creative flavors, always has a line out the door and down the street at night! If you have kids who prefer traditional flavors, I would not go here. Everyone else should definitely go there.
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
Wow. The icecream and service here is SUPERB. I'm surprised I didn't hear about this sooner. I tried the strawberry balsamic, the mint chocolate, and the coffee. All were delicious. Folks here are super cool, groovy, and kind and the interior is clean and comfortable. Definitely a go to for dessert. I want to try all the other flavors!
google avatar

Sylvia C.

Yelp
What a little gem in this little city of Redlands. We were passing through visiting family who recommended we swing by. So much fun to watch them make the ice cream and waffle cones right there in front of you. They have some interesting flavors like strawberry with balsamic glaze which was amazing. I'd suggest that they add stripes of glaze throughout though because once you eat it off the top, you're left wanting. Vanilla was good, chocolate orange was good but a tad bitter, lemon custard was yum yum but the star was their espresso! So much flavor. Probably the best coffee ice cream I've eaten. The waffle cones were good because they weren't overly sweet. The place is really small and there's no seating but you can go to the side window and watch them make the stuff which was really fun. I highly recommend you stop by if in the area.
google avatar

L R.

Yelp
Slowest service ever! There's like 3 people in here and it's taking years!!!! Stop fkn chitchatting give me my fkn 2 scoops of ice cream
google avatar

Jill H.

Yelp
à la minute offers a unique ice cream experience and flavors with a creative flair. I came on the recommendation of a friend. The quality of ice cream and service were excellent. My espresso chip hit the spot on a hot spring afternoon. Lots of other intriguing flavors to try as well. The storefront itself is inviting and clean, though there is little space so crowds quickly form. If I lived in Redlands, the thing that would hold me back from coming regularly is the price. A bit steep for the quantity of ice cream. A single is definitely small for $4.50. The cost is what discouraged me from trying two flavors. For fun flavors & unique ice cream experience, it's worth the occasional splurge.
google avatar

Clarissa S.

Yelp
First time going was really good, it was a very busy line but it was worth the wait. My friend Nidia took my husband and I here to try it out. She got the chocolate espresso, I got the orange honey and my husband got original strawberry. We also got a tiny cup of chocolate lavender. I liked them all except the chocolate lavender it was very tart. Just be aware the lines do get very long so show up early. The prices here are pretty good as well, if you like a lot I would get 3 or 2 scoops, if your easy to get full just get 1 scoop. My husband thinks it was average, because he feels it's about the same anywhere else. He isn't a sweets person but he is very picky. The place is very small so not many people can fit inside so beware the heat right now you will be standing in it. The inside is cute and the workers work very fast and are always moving
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
Our favorite small town ice cream shop! Amazing flavors, floats, and ice cream sandwiches. It gets crowded quickly and the inside is very small. Service is friendly and quick, and there are a lot of options with local ingredients like honey and chocolate.
google avatar

Greg F.

Yelp
Absolute Must Have! If you have not tried the ice-cream here you are missing out. A-la-Minute is one one hip place that welcomes all. There is a nice variety of original flavors to try and each are different. The service here is friendly so if you are not sure sure which flavor to order you can sample some of them before you decide. My personal favorites is the Orange Honey and the Coffee flavored one. A-la-Minute always draws a crowd and is a popular place since they opened 10+ years ago. There used to be a location in Downtown Claremont, but Redlands is the only location in operation since the "covid-19 pandemic" affected the restaurant industry. Last but not least, Redlands is one great place to spend the afternoon and evening. Stopping in for ice-cream here is a MUST. Enjoy!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
A little shop with some unique flavors and some unique way of making ice cream. I didn't fully understand what they do, but it involves liquid nitrogen and somehow making your ice cream to order. I've had salted caramel one, and absolutely loved it. Heard from several locals that this is one of the best ice creams you can have, and now I believe them! Will be back for sure to try more, especially during some hot Inland Empire summers.
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
my fave ice cream cross state! i don't even live in California and crave this ice cream. specifically vouch hard for the chocolate lavender with cacao nibs and honey. i could just eat the chocolate lavender because that's my fave part but will eat it all happily. quality small batch ice cream in a super cute downtown area. highly recommend for date, friend outing or solo date :) go here and savory every bite!!!!
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
Favorite ice cream ever. Worth driving an hour for - wish they still had a location in OC.
google avatar

Maysa M.

Yelp
I've been here twice. I definitely enjoy the brown butter chocolate and espresso chips flavors. Solid icecweam--can't go wrong here. Love the location--it's the perfect sweet treat after grabbing dinner downtown.
