The "Man Full of Trouble" Tavern was built in 1759 and is the only surviving colonial tavern in Philly. It was a waterfront watering hole for dockhands, shipwrights, and sailors. The tavern's name comes from a Bible passage: "Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of troubles. It's reopened as a restaurant tavern with a museum on the upper level. It is also open for tours. Check out the shady garden spot next to the tavern when you visit.
