A-Mari-Mix, Fresh Mex Fusion- a concept based on authentic Mexican food with Cuban flare, incorporating homemade seasonal ice cream and cocktails.
"The burritos at A-Mari-Mix are so large, you just can’t fight the urge to compare it to the last baby you met. The biggest and most exciting one is the smothered burrito. It comes soaked in salsa roja and salsa verde that adds a tangy freshness to this pleasantly dense monstrosity. There’s a lot going on inside (and outside) this burrito, but somehow no ingredient—from the crema to the refried beans—gets lost. They mesh beautifully like a nice tie-dye shirt. Take deep breaths once you’re finished and proceed to order the excellent horchata soft serve dusted with cinnamon sugar. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"A-Mari-Mix will cure a burrito and soft serve craving at once. The West Kendall restaurant makes a massive smothered burrito and other Mexican-Cuban fusion dishes. That stuff is good—but you can also skip it entirely and just come for dessert. Specifically, A-Mari-Mix's soft serve. They have a selection of rotating flavors, but the one constant on the menu also happens to be our favorite: horchata soft serve. It's a swirly cinnamon sugar masterpiece that deserves to be chosen as our eighth world wonder." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino
"A-Mari-Mix will cure a burrito and soft serve craving at once. The West Kendall restaurant makes a massive smothered burrito soaked in crema, salsa, and melted cheese that can satisfy one starving person, or three small children who are good at sharing. But this casual Mexican spot also makes good al pastor tacos best enjoyed with their orange salsa. And the horchata soft serve, a swirly cinnamon sugar masterpiece, deserves to be chosen as our eighth world wonder." - Mariana Trabanino
"At a family-owned Mexican fusion restaurant in Westchester, nacho lovers will find a hearty plate of nachos with carnitas, steak, or ropa vieja. The crispy corn tortilla chips are topped with refried pinto beans covered with cheese, arbol, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and jalapenos." - Amber Love Bond
"This small restaurant packs a big punch with its Mexican fusion dishes in South Miami. Enjoy a mix of Mexican and Cuban fare with dishes such as ropa vieja tostones (shredded beef on crispy green plantains), tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas. Wash the meal down with a margarita or any other of the beverages available and make sure to try the fried cheesecake topped with a choice of guava, dulce de leche, or caramel." - Stacy A. Moya
