"This is about as close as you can get to crispy, thin-crust, New York-style pizza in San Jose. The shop even looks the part, with a divey, compact spot on Stevens Creek Boulevard where seating consists of a handful of bar stools. In addition to fully-prepared pies (mostly meaty combos with a tangy tomato base) and a handful of classic Italian subs, calzones, and strombolis, the pizzeria pulls in lots of business with their ready-to-bake dough balls and extra-creamy New York cheesecake. "A Slice of New York aims to bring the New York pizza experience to the South Bay with a simple, unpretentious approach and a delicate balance between crust, sauce, and cheese. The shop whips up everything from scratch daily, including its own garlic olive oil. Pepperoni is the most beloved topping, while the ASONY Margarita — with its garlic oil base, Italian peeled plum tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and Parmesan — is most frequently ordered by customers. Today, A Slice of New York operates as a worker co-op, demonstrating a commitment to a democratically governed workplace with its employee-run board and operations." - Paolo Bicchieri, Cathy Park

If you’re craving that classic NYC slice—crispy, foldable, and full of flavor—this place absolutely delivers. I was blown away by how close it comes to the real deal. The crust had that perfect thin crunch, the sauce was tangy and balanced, and the cheese melted just right. Every bite brought back memories of walking through Manhattan with a slice in hand. It’s rare to find a spot outside of New York that nails the style this well. Highly recommend for any fellow NYC pizza lovers!

This place really brings you right back to Brooklyn, not just the food but also the crew! Great people working and great slices and garlic knots. It’s the place to have a real NY slice in California!

Fantastic customer service and delicious pizza! Very quick and friendly people in there. A must stop by for at least a slice if bot a whole pie.

Google
First time at a slice of NY, and I'm always on a hunt for an authentic NY slice. This place is definitely it. Thin, tips up, crispy, excellent pizza. Only notes, if I have any. I think the dough could be a little bit lighter (just a couple percent higher hydration?), and i could use a bit more salt in the dough. Very very minor notes, and frankly personal preference at that point On my list of top recs in SJ. And a coop. Yall are killing it.

Google
Disappointed today. I’m from NYC and look forward to my Pizza END CRUST. My favorite part of a pizza is the FAT END CRUST that NY Pizza is known for. This is why I’ve ALWAYS chosen ASoNY on Steven’s Creek. But today, this is what I got. Are we doing THIN CRUST now? And I ordered multiple pizzas, so not a fluke. Not happy. Kids pizza.

The pizza was fresh and full of flavor. Really enjoyed the taste and would definitely love to come back again!

My husband and I visited New York for about two weeks last month, and as soon as we got back, we were seriously craving New York-style pizza. We decided to try out this place based on the reviews - and wow, it definitely did not disappoint! The pizzas are absolutely amazing - super crispy, thin crust, and totally New York style pizza. The staff was also really helpful in explaining all the different types of toppings and options they had. Honestly, dare I say it was even better than the "super famous" Joe's Pizza near Times Square - without the crazy tourist lines and soggy bottoms lol! 🙈 We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be a regular here! They have simple limited seating outside that gives the perfect New York pizzeria ambience. We tried lots of pizzerias there while doing pizzeria hopping on my birthday and honestly, I am glad we have something exactly similar here and even better! P.S. Please don't expect New York prices here for pizza slices - like come on. Also, if you order to-go / delivery, it's gonna get soggy so definitely recommend eating it right out the oven for the authentic experience!

Google
I gobbled this up 🤣🤣 not gonna lie I downed like 5 slices. Every one was fire, especially the “fancy” one. Definitely NY style 🙌 they got all the works - parm, red chili flakes, ranch, hot sauce, etc. that you can add too

Angelica H.

Yelp
This place gave outstanding service, Tony and his staff were super friendly and generous! My boyfriend and I were first timers and tried several pizza flavors, every slice was amazing! True taste of a New York slice pizza :)

Yelp
I've been meaning to try A Slice of New York and remembered they were nearby while running errands. The shop is tiny and decked out in NYC decor- maps, signs, posters, pictures, etc. The cashier was so friendly and even gave me a free mini cannoli with my purchase. I grabbed two slices of pizza to go- pepperoni and a pesto slice with meatballs. Everything was delicious and packed with flavor. I liked that the tomato sauce base wasn't tangy and on the sweeter side. I enjoyed the pepperoni slice more and can probably eat 2-3 slices myself. I didn't even know they sold cannolis, so I will be buying those in the future. Excited to find an authentic New York pizza shop in the South Bay and will be coming back in the future.

Sistine M.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years, but I'm happy to report A Slice of New York is just as good as I remember! It's a small place with a few tables outside and a counter inside. I love all the drawings and the wall of shame lol. You can't beat chill, friendly service and a quick slice of delicious pizza. Check them out!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Best New York style pizza I have ever tried. I to fabulous. Nothing compares. Service is friendly. I love their staff. Great people. Definitely call in your order, wait time varies so I always call in now. Restaurant recommends it too. Don't waste your time anywhere else, just come here and be super happy. We always get either pepperoni or the margherita, can't go wrong with either.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Ok.. so IF you have or haven't visited a REAL pizzeria in NYC, you gotta check this place out! First, it's a small spot, much like the places in NYC, there are a few stools inside to eat along the wall, and there are a few tables outside. We ate inside, there weren't any tables outside. Upon first entering, I thought oh it's gonna be a while... but was I wrong! They do a quick division of the line, slices, order, or pick up - and BAM we were at the case to pick a slice. Let me tell you something- the variety of choices was AMORE! I got the all meat (Rockefeller) and the peperoni and sausage. It really felt like I was transported to NYC! The bustle of the place, the people coming and going, and the variety of people.. it's amazing how universally cohesive a good piece of pie really is. Certainly a 5/5 will for sure return again!

Yelp
Tucked away in the heart of San Jose, ASONY brings a taste of New York City's vibrant pizza culture to the West Coast. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere transports you straight to the Big Apple, with its cool NYC-themed vinyls adorning the walls, creating a vibe that screams classic New York. The true star here is the pizza. The menu offers a range of quintessential New York-style pizzas, from the classic Margherita to the hearty Meat Lovers and the innovative Fancy White pie with basil and a balsamic reduction. Each slice boasts a perfect balance of thin, crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and a generous layer of gooey, melted cheese. But ASONY doesn't just stop at pizza. Their garlic knots are a must-try, perfectly couple with Garlic Olive Oil (GOO) which is packed with garlic goodness. The house salad is refreshingly crisp, providing a perfect counterbalance to the rich pizzas. We also tried the veggie stromboli, which was a delightful combination of fresh vegetables and melted cheese, all wrapped in a perfectly baked crust. In summary, ASONY is more than just a pizza place--it's a slice of New York right in the Bay Area. The combination of authentic NYC vibes, delicious pizza, and a welcoming interior makes it a standout destination for anyone craving a genuine New York pizza experience.

Yelp
Came on a Friday around 6:30 PM +++++ AMBIANCE +++++ This is a small place with bar/counter seating in one corner, there's a small fridge with drinks and the register. The walls are COVERED in New York paraphernalia. This place can get really busy! There is some outdoor seating, but not much! Approximately 4-5 tables! +++++ SERVICE +++++ You wait in line and then when you get to the register they ask what you want. My husband walked in and it was really crowded. When he opened the door, someone was coming out so he held it open for them. While he was holding open the door for another patron, the man behind the register yelled at my husband, "you're in or your out! keep the door closed!" This seemed REALLY unnecessarily rude....The line was at the door! People are going in and out, its normal that the door is opened a lot. When my husband got to the register, we told the man who yelled at him we wanted slices. A small Asian lady handled our slices. The slices aren't labeled, my husband asked if they have certain pies. The man at the register was unfriendly and he said, "we don't have that one, you can't order that. You have to pick what's there," My husband was attempting to, but because the pizzas weren't labeled he wasn't sure what was what. Were we supposed to ask him what was on each pizza there to know what we want? I guess so... It was pretty frustrating. This man had it out for my husband since he laid eyes on him. The asian lady was nice though and she asked my husband which specific slice he wanted of the flavor he chose like middle piece or corner piece etc. This man was generally unfriendly to most people who walked in, sigh. My husband was feeling generous and said maybe the man was giving us the full NYC experience because apparently this type of behavior is normal in NYC. I'm not sure if this is true. +++++ FOOD +++++ $6.00-7.50 a slice. They heat all the slices so they are piping hot when you get them! // SICILIAN MEATLOVER THIS WAS MY FAVORITE I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CRUST. OH MY GOODNESS THICK BREADY CRUST. CHEESE WAS GOOEY! I wish there was more meat, but WOW. Delicious! I WILL GET THIS ONE AGAIN. // MUNCHIE LUNCHIE This was spicy and good, but I preferred the Sicilian Meatlover more. // THE CITY or TIMES SQUARE? We don't know, he didn't tell us. This tasted similar to the munchie lunchie, the toppings kind of all merge into one. // ASONY Margarita This had a nice freshness, I wish there was more basil. I suggest getting two pizzas with very different flavors or else they might just end up tasting very similar. You will crave a soda to cut the grease. Ultimately, the pizzas are thin and foldable and pretty yummy. +++++ OVERALL +++++ I would give it 4.5* but the man at the register was so rude, I have to dock it to 3.5* but I will round up because Yelp doesn't do half stars. I will be back, but I will try the other items like the calzone or stromboli.

Yelp
Something about New York style pizza never fails to disappoint me. The high quality taste of it along with the cheesey pull, the savory salty toppings, makes it superior to other pizzas I've ever eaten. If you are ever in New York and grab a slice of these kinds of pizza, you will understand. Inside you will get a glimpse of what New York would look like as you immerse yourself with their decor on their wall. But to have something in the Bay that's just as equivalent compared to New York is amazing to me. Slice of New York has always been on my bucket list and I can finally cross it off. I don't particularly remember the pizzas that we ordered, but all I know was that we enjoyed each and every bite of it. It was hot, warm, cheesey, and the taste was enjoyable with each bite. Taste test definitely passes, but I did wish that the bottom of the crust was a little crispier. I will say that this slice is quite floppy, and the toppings will definitely fall off including the cheese if you try to hold it at an angle. But that doesn't faze me too much. Service was very friendly and they were very efficient with orders, there also isn't a lot of seating here either so you may need to take your pizzas to-go. But definitely come and eat the food here fresh and get a taste of a NY style pizza!~

Kelekolio M.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night around 9:15pm and there was just a few people waiting on their pizza. The inside is very unique, I've never been to New York but everything inside makes you feel like you're in NY from the metro cards, to the subway signs, pictures of NY legends and so forth. Anyways, I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good. The flavor is good, not too oily or stale it tasted like a good pepperoni pizza. I would say the pizza is pretty thin. My girlfriend ordered the margherita pizza and she said it was good but she preferred the pepperoni and I agreed. we both ordered the garlic knots and those were really good. Super buttery, garlicy, and the bun was soft it just soaked it all up. I think the price of a slice was about $7 I'm not too sure. I would definitely get two slices for myself next time as well. Overall, decent pizza spot!

Abby C.

Yelp
I love this pizza. I usually come for lunch to get two slices and a drink. The service is quick and the pizza is high quality. I liked the touch of New York memorabilia all around, very cool. The pizza is great, has lots of flavor, even the plain cheese slice is incredible. Thanks for serving quality pizza!

Raymond M.

Yelp
Mediocre pizzas. I do love how thin it is and just fold it up NY style. I think you can grab a drink if you order more than two slices. They also reheat the pizzas before serving it! Limited parking. Good customer service, everyone is friendly.

Melaina M.

Yelp
This place is hands down AMAZING. First of all, I personally love the small atmosphere that's covered in all things New York. It represents New York street style perfectly. Second, the pizza here is my favorite pizza that I have had since visiting New York in 2019. These guys are crushing that perfect New York slice. We've tried a few different types now and ALL of them have been delicious. The guys working here were also extremely friendly and nice. They even gave me a free tiramisu cup (straight from New York itself) just because they heard me telling my boyfriend that I've never had tiramisu (I know crazy right). The tiramisu was delicious too! It was creamy with that yummy coffee flavor but the hint of richness from the chocolate. Absolutely delicious! I can't stress enough how much we will be back and you should definitely go too! Oh and if you don't get the hot honey to put all over your pizza or calzone then you are missing out on a world of added flavor to their perfectly cooked food! Seriously go try them and go often!

Jenny T.

Yelp
Came on Saturday around 9:15 PM - there were three other people ahead of us. It was tasty and had the look and crust of a New York slice! The pepperoni was really mild - think I'll definitely get a side of hot honey next time. I also thought it wasn't saucy enough and the middle of the pizza was really droopy and doughy, so it was a mission to ensure no oil got onto my clothes while eating. Overall, it was a fun experience to go inside and I'd return, but I would get takeout and reheat it in an air fryer so the slice has more structural integrity and has the ability to fold in half - this would enhance my experience. Service was quick and efficient and the ambience is cozy - I loved all the New York decorations inside. :)

Reena L.

Yelp
This place literally sent me to another dimension! I've never in my 30 something years of existence had a pizza slice so divine, delicious and perfect! Besides the absolute mouthwatering pizza, the service and employees were so kind and welcoming! I will be returning for many many many more slices! Thank you for an amazing first time experience!

Dana T.

Yelp
Best pizza around without a doubt! Great customer service. Everyone is nice and friendly but the main thing is they put out the most delicious pie! Go get one!

Brian B.

Yelp
Get a decent slice of pizza every time. I enjoy getting out of the Santana Row scene and escaping to New York. Kurt Russel's character would have never wanted to "Escape From New York" (an action film from 1981) if he had this pizza. Good service at this local restaurant too. Not the best ambience, but I liked the old style-strip-mall inspired rawness. Somehow it reminds me of the Tom Waits album, Night Hawks at the Diner and how he made beautiful some aspects of our past cities and small towns.

Andrew D.

Yelp
Small little place in front of a plaza near Valley fair, but the pizza is great. Thin and crispy crust, but the pizza is super flavorful. Personally, the buffalo chicken left a bit to desire with the cheese and chicken, but the sausage mushroom bacon was incredible. Tons of toppings loaded on and it was delicious. Servers here were extremely nice and helped with all my questions. There is lots of parking in the back, and I would stop by if you're in need of a slice.

Kevin C.

Yelp
The closest thing to NYC Pizza I've ever experienced outside Manhattan. This place exudes authenticity. From the lunch special of 2 slices with a soda to the decor on the walls to the cannolis. This place is awesome. Seating is 100% outside and usually crowded with gardeners, and construction guys who know good pizza. The staff is friendly and each slice is cooked to order. Worth the drive. Make it a double header and visit the surplus store next door.

Joe N.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night around 9pm so there was hardly a wait time to get our food. My wife had the calzone and I got a personal 10" pep. I've had deep dish in Chicago, thin crust in Rome, and I must say this is one of my favorite spots in San Jose. The price is a bit high in my opinion but blame Uncle Sam. Hopefully the price drops for everything once Trump gets re-elected. They have patio seating which was nice on this warm summer evening. Will definitely be back. For a personal 10", calzone, 2 ranch cups, and a root beer, I paid about $33.

Matthew C.

Yelp
I am from the east coast, and I have eaten a staggering amount of pizza, so I will preface this with I have sky high pizza expectations. With that said, I think this is my favorite pizza place in the bay area. I think it gets very close to the legendary dollar slice in NYC. Got a plain cheese slice (the measuring stick that should be used for all pizza joints in my opinion), a mushroom pep slice, and garlic knots. I think they came very close to the New York slice. Cheesy, right amount of sauce, nice and greasy. This isn't a California pizza, it's not supposed to be healthy. The undercarriage could've been a little crispier, but it still passed the fold test without flopping too much so close enough. They also have the essential pizza seasoning shakers (herbs, parm, and chili). For the garlic knots, they weren't my favorite, the flavor was good, but the shape was wrong. The menu says they're more loosely inspired by garlic knots, but it's more like a garlic dinner roll shape. The little nooks and twists of an actual garlic knot trap oil and flavor better than the bread shape here. I don't think I could give it this the full 5 stars though because a huge part of what makes the dollar slice amazing is the value. This was definitely not a dollar slice, at more than $5 a slice, this is more like the prices of super famous touristy pizza places in NYC like Joe's. The staff are super friendly and clearly have good banter which was nice to see though.

Jake B.

Yelp
We'd been wanting to try this spot for a while, having a background from New York City. The pizza itself came pretty close to a New York slice. However, the price was wild to me. The "dollar slice" ended up being $7 per slice. My partner and I each had 2 slices. 4 slices and a drink came out to $30. I get a markup, but this was shocking to me. The pizza was pretty solid, but I don't think I could go again knowing the price.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Slice of New York is a staple. The shop has a simple set up - slices on the left, drinks on the right, cashier in the middle. You order with the cashier and you can eat outside at their tables. We usually order pepperoni but my favorite was the spicy Hawaiian. The signs are pretty entertaining too - they have photos and descriptions of folks who have done questionable things in the shop that crack me up.

Taylor P.

Yelp
I just had this for dinner last night and I'm already craving and wanting some more!! First of all, I called to see what pizzas by the slice were in rotation. The staff member on the phone was so helpful and nice! Once we got there, we were immediately greeted. Since it was our first time, the nice staff gave us a rundown of their full menu and their suggestions. We ended up getting a slice of pep, buffalo chicken, margherita, 3pc garlic knots (GET THESE!!!!!!!) and their mini cannoli's. All so so good!! They toast your slices in the oven which make them piping hot and delicious. The garlic knots... WOW. These also come out piping hot, but wait just a few minutes before devouring - they are truly the best when eaten hot. I honestly could drink that garlicky butter. All in all, this is our new go-to pizza spot. They also do whole pies, sandos, calzones and more. Ahhhh I can't wait to go back already!!

Elyas P.

Yelp
Bomb NY slice for lunch! Service was amazing! I work right down the street will be back in my lunch for more!

Joel G.

Yelp
Another great visit, love the vibe here. Probably the best NY style in the South Bay. If you like or want to try NY style, here is where you come first. Parking concerns are still there but I always can make it work.

Laura L.

Yelp
I came here based off a recommendation from one of of my favorite Youtubers (feedmeimei). Apparently there are two locations -- one in San Jose and one in Sunnyvale. The Sunnyvale location has a larger sit-down area whereas this San Jose location is a lot smaller. The parking lot for this location was pretty small right in front of the restaurant. When we first came in for dinner on Saturday night, the store was completely empty but while we were sitting there, a huge crowd of people came either to pick up their orders and eat a meal right there. We got slices of the margarita pizza (one of the employees said it was the most popular), the green machine, and a combo style pizza. We also got a small order of the garlic knots and were positively stuffed after eating all of that. I was really pleasantly surprised by the pizza and absolutely loved the heavy garlic flavors they used. I also loved the garlic knots -- such great flavor and the dough was fluffy as well. Lastly, the woman taking my order was so friendly and nice. I didn't catch her name but she was so excited when I said it was our first time here and patiently outlined each of the slices they had on display. I later read online that they really try to focus on customer service. Overall, a fantastic pizza place that I will definitely come back to.

Sam S.

Yelp
If you're craving a taste of New York right here in the South Bay, look no further than this local gem down the street from Santana Row. Nestled next to the old surplus store, this place instantly transports you to the Big Apple the moment you step inside. The atmosphere displays New York vibes with its authentic interior and welcoming hospitality. The staff here knows their stuff and are eager to guide you through their selection of pizzas. They've got all the classics covered - from mushroom pepperoni to unique twists like pesto with mushroom and tomato. The pizzas themselves are a great pleasure. The crust and dough are spot on, reminiscent of the slices you'd find in NYC. They even offer Sicilian style if you're in the mood for something a bit heartier. What sets this place apart is not just the food, but the friendly service. The staff are happy to chat about their pies and let you in on some great deals - like getting a free water or soda when you buy two slices. Overall, if you're in the area, don't miss out on this spot. It's as close as you can get to a genuine New York slice experience here on the West Coast. I can't wait to go back for more!

Jeff M.

Yelp
"Won't hold a fold But the flavour's gold." High quality pizza made by people who take pride in their product. Takeout is good; slices eaten fresh are even better. Yes, it's floppy. No Viagra here. But the taste and texture are otherwise delicious and evocative of a real New York slice. It's usually busy and cramped inside this literal temple to NYC, but the staff are jovial and the decor is joyful. This is an immersive pizza experience. True score: 8.5 Return: YES

Lawrence H.

Yelp
MENU AND FOOD: This co-op serves up pizza by the slice along with other pizza parlor favorites like sandwiches and sides. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service is quick and efficient. They have very limited indoor seating along with some outdoor seating. Their indoor decor is plain and simple. PARKING: Located at a small strip mall, they have some parking available. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: They always have a variety of pizza slices on display. They warm up your pizza after you order and its a great place to pick up 2 slices for a quick dinner.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Man, I miss this place. Can definitely par with legit NYC joints. Y'all South Bay peeps should be thankful and appreciate that you can have a list of good pizza parlors within a short reach, including this one. Good job, Slice -

Kamryn W.

Yelp
This will be the last time I visit a spot with thousands of good reviews. Every time, I am let down. No more. No more... Every once in a while, for a fun date experience, my husband and I go on a "pizza adventure". We visit three pizzerias, share some slices, and review the pizza. So far, the highest score my husband has given is a 7. I liked the look of the shop- it's a little hole in the wall right down the street from the valley fair mall... I'm now wondering if the proximity to the mall is what has caused so many reviews for this spot, and created a disproportionate review score to pizza quality ratio. We chose our slices-- the usual simple basics of cheese and pepperoni. They heated the slices and we took them outside to the couple of tables they have overlooking the street. Overall, our slices were bland, and a bit undercooked. As my husband words it, we like a "golden undercarriage" to our pizza. The pepperoni missed the hint of a spicy note that we like, and we missed the taste of sauce. The cheese was just okay. 4/10.

Jote K.

Yelp
One of my favorites in the bay. Love the pizzas and the service is great! I keep it simple with the cheese and margherita slices. And I love the NY energy in the place!

CeeLo L.

Yelp
Straight up legit. The Margarita is simplicty at it's finest. While you're there, get a Drake's coffe cake ;P

Manuma T.

Yelp
Yeah I gotta say this is a good spot to get pizza I went here with my cousin who goes here all the time. The service was great and the place was the vibes man super chill. I'm gonna come back when I'm near the area.

Adina K.

Yelp
Best pizza in the South Bay! Love their tiramisu too! The staff is super friendly, they recommend me their favorites and all of them were delicious.

Min K.

Yelp
The pizza and service is good but for half and half for small pizza seemed a bit pricey at 40 dollars.. It is good but the price is insane these days..

Alexandra L.

Yelp
A slice of New York is a yummy hidden pizza place that is just by Santana Row! It is so yummy you have to try it! It can get really busy at times! The owners and employees are so nice there! Also it takes about 10 minutes to pick up your order! They are so fast it is amazing. I recommend getting the garlic knots and a large cheese or pepperoni pizza! Overall, I would recommend this pizza place.

Tony B.

Yelp
I've had their slices many times thru the years as well as any so-called NY style pizza in the area that I'm aware of. Now I've tried a lot of different slices out there and prolly more than most. I'm from NJ and look at my name and yes I'm a picky ass when it comes to that NY claim. I'll try any slice anywhere and challenge you to try a whole FRESHLY made pie from here. Still here? Okay it's gonna be a long one so strap-in and hold on here. Ya know why? I'm high right now and I could go into my back yard look at my dogs &%$# and guess what he ate 2 weeks ago. Better yet I can taste each and every single spice that I BELIEVE should be on a pizza. Did I mention I'm from NJ? Of course, I did say I'm HIGH and not stupid!! Haha a bit of my humor to keep you tuned. So, we finally bought a true freshly made pie. Bottom line each spice was a decent amount of necessary spices but IMO and humble opinion they do not sprinkle oregano either on their sauce or on the cheese it's one way or another and I missed that ever so slight kiss of spice of it on both sides of cheese. I do also add a tiny bit of salt and pepper because they can't due to all the various taste buds going in and out of that store. I will go out on a limb and say there is a hint of sugar in that sauce. All honesty its truly a great IMO pizza PIE slice as in 18 ". The Cannoli ehhh 3 stars I was going to stop writing cause the buzz was wearing off UGH. See anti-drug folks out there, it wears off in most cases 2-3 hours not a whole day like other LEGALLY purchased items purchased in most places. But THANK YOU !!! PIZZA GODSssssssssss! at Slice of NY cured my munchies and calzone time real soon and get some more tasty cakes

Yelp
Fantastic pizza, I'm a California boy so I can't attest to authenticity, but it is excellent and the desserts are fire. The staff clearly care. The ambience is what I expect a slice shop would be like in NYC. Closed Mondays. I always end up in the area on Mondays for some reason and forget this until I get excited about going then I'm disappointed. So beware. But 6 days a week this is the place to be.

Yelp
Finally got some slices of pizza here. Very friendly and quick service. Each of us picked a slice out to try. I asked for a recommendation and was suggested margarita pizza, so I got that. The cheese was a little rubbery and the dough was chewy, and I felt the flavors were a bit lacking. It's still a good slice of pizza if not great but it's definitely not the best I had. The size was humongous by the way so it was pretty filling,

Yelp
Delicious pizza. I can't believe this was my first time stopping even though I've probably driven past hundreds of times. I came back from living in New Haven somewhat of a thin crust pizza snob and this pizza did did not disappoint. I had a slice of Hawaiian which was admittedly a weird choice but I was feeling pineapple on a hot summer day and another piece with basil and prosciutto. I'm not sure what that one was called but it looked delicious and it was delicious. The dough is perfect and baked to a perfect crisp. Now I don't have to travel to new York for new York style pizza.

Yelp
This place is such a gem. I wish I came here sooner! We came here close to closing and it was such a vibe eating pizzas outside. Their interior is heavily decorated in NY signage & decor. It really does make me miss the Big Apple. They do have 3 tables outside to eat at. Since it's on Steven's Creek it's mostly street parking w/ the exception of 2ish parking spots. As for the pizza itself, I ordered a pineapple pizza. It's a thin crust and was solid. I do want to try their other slices of pizza. It definitely does stack up against pizzas you would find in NY & is definitely somewhere I'd go to grab a quick bite!

Yelp
Surprised I haven't came here before! My friend and I stopped by here before heading to Valley Fair. They're also known for baking the price of tip into their pizza slice, so the price you see is the price you pay. They have a deal where you can get two slices of pizza and get a free drink with it!! Their soda offerings are really interesting too, they have drinks that I've never heard about before or seen offered at any supermarket or restaurants :) We both initially ordered one slice, but proceeded to get a second one after tasting how delicious they are. The workers are really helpful and nice, and the inside is decorated well/paying homage to NY with the transit system and local Bay Area newspaper clippings raving about the restaurant itself. I'm pretty happy with ASONY, and hope to see it expand further in South Bay since they have both a Sunnyvale and San Jose location. Here's to more success!!

Yelp
Great pizza. Some of the most legitimate New York thin crust you can find. You're going to have to be on the other Coast to beat this. The sauce is amazing. The toppings are fresh. Yes, the folks are legitimate. New York direct you'll enjoy!

Yelp
We were visiting the area from Fresno today and decided to just grab a few quick cheese slices on a whim and I have to say I'm sad I don't live closer because I would eat this as often as I could! The slice was large, very fresh and hot out the oven. The slice was perfectly crisp but not over done, the crispness was on point. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese was perfect, and the crispy but soft inside of the edge crust was perfect. The service was quick and the ambiance was exactly what I wanted from a place called A Slice of New York. LOVED IT! I wish I could go back tomorrow, and the day after (pizza is my FAVE comfort food!). ** Also, I see some of the reviews about the staff being "rude" and I have to say all I saw was busy people trying to deal with a line that went out the door and people being efficient so we got our food quickly!

Yelp
i absolutely love NY-style pizza & this place is pretty close to the real thing! the crust is thin but wide, with each slice having the perfect ratio of cheese, sauce, & toppings. we ordered 4 individual slices: Margarita, Buffalo Chicken, Bensonhurst, & Pepperoni. not pictured, but we even got a complimentary slice of Cheese pizza while we were waiting which was so nice of them! we also got a half order of the Garlic Knots which came with a side of marinara sauce. everything was a 10/10, but have to say my favorite slice was the Margarita. came on a Friday night & total wait was 15 mins. just like in NY, i'd say this place is more of a grab & go or a quick dine-in option, as seating is a bit limited & there's only street parking. great pizza & service overall!

Yelp
Delighted to have discovered this spot - fantastic pizza and a friendly staff. They offer a variety of slices, and I opted to try most of the pizzas they had by the slice- each one was delicious. The interior is small and cozy, about 5 spots to sit inside. I arrived just before dinner, and it was starting to fill up. Limited front parking, but ample street parking around the blocks. Still deciding if I prefer Bibo's pizza or here. Definitely a great spot to get takeout.

Yelp
Slices are huge and worth every penny! I've seen reviews about the customer service but honestly the staff was quick and efficient so I'm satisfied

Yelp
I have to admit, I'm typically a thick pizza kind of gal. If I had to choose my favorite kinds, I'd probably say Detroit or Chicago deep dish are up there for me. But that is not to say that I don't love some good New York pizza because I absolutely do. To be honest, I've had some very mediocre New York-style pizza even in NYC, but let me tell you -- A Slice of New York is not that. I truly think it is the best pizza you can get in this area. You can tell the pizzas here have been crafted with care. The chewy, thin, slightly crispy dough with the balanced sauce and cheese ratio makes for a truly immaculate slice. I tried one of the off-menu signature pizzas, as well as their coveted ASONY, and both blew me away. I wasn't even hungry but devoured both of them because they are just that good. Their Cannoli are also the perfect dessert -- highly recommend adding that onto your order and thank me later. Absolutely love the design of the interior here. It's small and not much seating but all the thoughtful wall art makes you feel like you've teleported to Manhattan. The staff members are also all really friendly and quick on their feet :').

Yelp
First timer over here! I must say this is the Best taste of NY away from NY. A little whole in the wall with legit NY style pizza. The ambiance gives authentic, rustic, city charm. Pizza warmed, bottom perfect crisp with still the dough chew from the top. I will say PERSONAL PREFERENCE, I like a LITTLE more sauce on my pizza, BUT I still scarfed down 2-3 slices and want more. Service was amazing and quick! They were quick, kind and helpful. I didn't catch his name but when I went back inside he struck up a conversation with me and noticed I had a little boy, he offered to cut up one of the pizzas for him and warm it just enough so it wouldn't burn him THAT, was very much appreciated. Needless to say my boys FIRST pizza was a hit. Chefs kiss ‍ Golf claps Will def be back.
