"This Israeli restaurant is close to—but not inside—the Aventura Mall. So it’s a great place to reward yourself with ice cream after surviving one of the city’s most chaotic parking garages. Abbalé is a proper restaurant (not an ice cream shop), but it’s also totally acceptable to just sit at the bar and order the tahini soft serve. It comes in a tall swirl, drizzled with date honey and topped with a little toupée of halvah fluff. Abbalé has the neutral tones, wicker furniture, and prices of a beachside resort, but better food. Start with the incredibly creamy hummus or the tamarind-glazed crunchy cauliflower. The dinner menu is heavy on sharable grilled proteins like ribeye and whole fish. But the all-day menu casts a wider net of appeal with brunch dishes like shakshuka, sandwiches like lamb arayes, salads, and a few of the grilled entrees you’ll find during dinner.
