Bar with darts, Skee-Ball & nostalgic decor that reflects Alphabet City's gritty history.
"Ace Bar is all about games: pool, darts, pinball, skee ball. It’s great for big groups, especially if your big group is the sort that’s better suited to throwing darts at a wall than carrying on polite conversation." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"Ace Bar is where you go when you want to drink something with a maximum of two ingredients and play some darts with a couple of friends who don’t expect you to entertain them or even make quality conversation. It’s a big divey bar in the East Village, it has a couple of pool tables and skee-ball in addition to dart boards, and it gets pretty packed on weekends. So either come here on a Saturday if you want to meet some people, or stop by on a weeknight with some takeout from the nearby Bobwhite Counter and play a few games while you eat fried chicken." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
"Ace Bar looks pretty average, but it has plenty of space, the drinks aren’t expensive, and your activity options include pool, skee-ball, and darts. You can also play Jenga and make people around you spill their beer because they’re not expecting the sound of crashing blocks. Just know that this East Village spot gets busy on weekends, so either show up early or be prepared to stare passive-aggressively at people while you wait your turn to play games." - bryan kim, neha talreja, kenny yang
"Ace Bar in the Lower East Side? Skee-Ball, no chips." - ByDanny Palumbo
"One thing we like about Union Pool is that it’s fun and somewhat charming despite the fact that it sometimes makes you think, “Wow, I need to leave this place.” And we feel the same way about Ace Bar in the East Village. This bar gets packed, but the drinks aren’t overpriced, and it has two pool tables, a few dart boards, and a couple of skee-ball machines. Think of it as a big college bar where you can still hang out after you graduate, and claim a big booth when you get tired of talking to people who won’t remember you in the morning." - bryan kim
