"Don't come to Adama expecting traditional Mexican cooking. Instead, this welcoming spot specializes in Middle Eastern cuisine. Tucked away down Callejon Adama street, this restaurant entices the city's growing population of foreigners making their home in this creative, colorful city. Chef Hagar Aviram may set a laidback tone here, but her cooking is spot on, reflecting authentic. The tightly edited menu features a number of dishes intended for sharing. Ingredients are sourced locally from nearby farms for simple, authentic plates like falafel with tahini and lamb kebab. End on a sweet note with baklava and a Turkish coffee." - Michelin Inspector

The 23 Best Restaurants In Oaxaca - Oaxaca - The Infatuation

"Adamá is situated in a less crowded area of the city, tucked away in Aldama Alley behind a wall covered with vibrant bougainvillea. Inside, Israeli-born chef Hagar Aviram serves classic Middle Eastern dishes to locals and travelers looking for a change of pace from all that corn-based and masa-centric Oaxacan food (heads up: the cash-only restaurant is open Sundays only). The menu, vegetarian and vegan friendly, features a variety of family-style dishes, including hummus, fatoush, creamy baba ganoush, an abundant serving of labneh, and textbook-perfect falafel. Their tabbouleh and refreshing, herb-packed salad made with cucumber, tomato, chopped onions, lime, and olive oil, are great for hotter days." - liliana lopez, mariana camacho

Food was amazing, we loved every bite, so flavorful and fresh, would only recommend to maybe think about increasing the portions size. For example the labaneh, borek and the baklava were particularly tiny. However, that don’t take away the fact that all of it was very delicious and the ambience was very pleasing. Would come back again!

Such a relaxing, laid-back atmosphere. Fresh pita baked on site. We had the tabouleh, cauliflower, fried olives (try them!), grape leaves, lamb kebab, and baklava. Highly recommend!

The food was good, but there were some touches which I didn't like. Rose on baklava is not good. Also, there was a herb in the falafel which I hadn't seen before. Except for that, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional.

We absolutely love this place; it's one of our favorites. The service is attentive without being overbearing, the food is always excellent, and the ambiance is cozy and romantic. And one of the most important details is that many places in town do not have is an excellent selection of music that allows you to have a conversation without needing to yell. We come here at least twice a month if not more. It's also a great place for gathering with friends for a nice mellow night of dinner and drinks!

I loved the location and magical atmosphere at Adamá. The name of the restaurant comes from the Hebrew word for ground/earth, and it's appropriate. I enjoyed sitting in the indoor-outdoor location under the stars during a perfect dry season evening. I tried the fluffy pita bread and the lamb kebab. It as perfectly seasoned! I went early (by Oaxacan standards) for dinner and as I left a little before 8:00pm, the place was full! If you are going to dine here as a group, I would make reservations!

We had another best ever meal! Fried olives. Need I say more? They have great vegetarian options and the food is outstanding. It’s a sweet place to enjoy a meal too. GO!

Adama has chill vibes, is tucked any in a little corner off the street, and serves some intensely good food! The atmosphere is instantly relaxing, and the wait staff (and owner, who welcomed us) were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the pickles and pickled olives - they import them from Israel! Oh, and get there early if you can! We missed the salads as they were all out when we arrived less than on hour before closing. Will definitely be going back.

Everything — the food, the service, the ambiance — was top notch. Our server, Pablo, was amazing and suggested we try the lamb hummus. It was absolutely out of this world — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We finished with the tahini ice cream, which was creamy, unique, and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back!
