I rarely give a place 5 stars. My bar for that last final star, is if I could/would recommend and come back myself without hesitation.
Service, Food and Flavors. They hit the mark across the board. This is a concern... To be honest.. I am hesitant that if too many people like this place, it will be hard to get in, but I'm writing this review anyway...
Let's start with the food and flavors. The menu is unabashedly Turkish inspired, including the mysterious and tasty Mastic Rice Pudding, to the magical and flavorful "saksuka" vegetable, it's delicious. Our standards were moderately high, a cousin was visiting from Canada, and her basic needs included Vegetarian. This means we need good food is not always easy. I'm always keeping an eye out for menus that offer a variety for all types of eating preferences, and Ada's looked promising, so here is where our night stared.
So before the Mastic Rice Pudding, and after the magical Saksuka, was our entrees. My wife had the delicious and savory Kofte balls, I had the Sis Kobob, and the cousin had Porcini Risotto, Let me explain, the food presentation was on point, because alone these items don't sound all that special, but what came out pleased the eyes (and the other senses). My cousin noted how smooth the rice was, and the mushroom flavour which stood out. She loved it. My wife enjoyed her meat balls, they were seasoned perfectly, tender, and as he said, really good. Mine was presented on a large metal spit, delicious meat on a stick. It was super tender, like a peach... a tender, sweet, meat peach. The knife sliced it as if it was warmed butter, with the juices that I wanted to lick off the plate. So the food was good.
What about the service? Our server really took care of us, she was attentive, service orientated, our water was always full, drinks refilled, and even came out with the small things, like an extra side of yogurt, after my wife mentioned how awesome it would have been to have a little yogurt for her meat, and kazaa, it was there. It's like she knew what we wanted, and it was there.
So really, it's perfect. I love living just a few minutes from this neighborhood gem. We felt welcomed, from the moment we walked in, and it really did feel like being at home with a family member that wanted to show us what great hospitality is. I hate to share this with the world, but if you are looking for a great meal, this restaurant should be on your list.
