I recently visited Adda Indian Cuisine with a group of seven friends, arriving around 9 PM, just before their last dine-in orders at 9:15 PM. While we were aware that we were cutting it close, the staff’s initial reception felt unwelcoming. We were asked questions like, “When are your other friends arriving?” which set an awkward tone for the evening.
That said, the food was good. We ordered a variety of dishes including Malai Kebab, Masala Chicken Lollipop, Navratna Korma, Rara Chicken, and Butter Garlic Naan. Each item was flavorful and served promptly. The vegetarian options were refreshing to see, making it inclusive for everyone in our group. For dessert, we had Carrot Halwa, which was okay but not exceptional.
However, a few things left a sour aftertaste. The pricing felt steep, nearly 20% in service charges on top of tax (and that too before the tip), bringing our total to nearly $200. For a group of seven, that was unexpectedly high and not standard compared to other restaurants in the area. These hidden fees weren’t clearly communicated and seemed unjustified given the experience.
The restaurant is located on a fairly busy street with limited parking, so plan accordingly. However, the entrance is wheelchair accessible, which is a plus.
In summary, great food, good variety, fast service, but expensive with unexpected charges and a less-than-welcoming vibe at closing time. Worth a visit, but go earlier and be prepared for the final bill.
