The Best Restaurants In Little Italy And University Village

"Come to Adda with at least three friends when you’re in the mood to share a bunch of curry and biryani. The menu is long, with dishes like tender lamb vindaloo in a spicy vinegary sauce, mahi-mahi in a coconut curry with kokum and red chilies for heat, and a tandoor section where the smoky, spicy meat tastes like it’s been marinated for days. Unlike Tuk Tuk (also on this guide), Adda is a good option when you want your Indian food accompanied by white tablecloths and cloth napkins. " - veda kilaru, adrian kane

Where To Eat Indian Food In Chicago

"If the dining room at Adda in Little Italy feels familiar, that’s because this Indian spot took over the Francesca space in 2020. And while the leather booths and white tablecloths are still here, we much prefer the food coming out of the kitchen at Adda. I recently visited ADDA restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food was bursting with rich, authentic Indian flavors, especially the butter chicken & garlic naan. The spices were perfectly balanced, and everything was freshly made. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure we had a great time. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-tier Indian dining experience.

The restaurant was so peaceful and pleasant. The service was excellent, the gentleman were very accommodation, attentive and friendly. The mango lasse was delicious and the mixed grill and chicken, egg, fried rice was also very good! Looking forward to going back and trying the lamb chops!

Google
A great restaurant with great service. Tried the gobi Manchurian which is delicious, it had some onions that were just really good, creating a balance of sweet, and some spice. The chicken Biryani was also great, along with the Chicken Xacutti! Definitely a place I would recommend. Also, as someone who loves a good garlic naan, they served one that was absolutely great.

I’m in love with this restaurant! It’s my favorite Indian spot in Chicago. The service, the food, the vibes — everything about this place says, “Come in and enjoy the experience!” Thank you so much, Adda Restaurant, for all the joyful moments you’ve given me! ❤️

I recently visited Adda Indian Cuisine with a group of seven friends, arriving around 9 PM, just before their last dine-in orders at 9:15 PM. While we were aware that we were cutting it close, the staff’s initial reception felt unwelcoming. We were asked questions like, “When are your other friends arriving?” which set an awkward tone for the evening. That said, the food was good. We ordered a variety of dishes including Malai Kebab, Masala Chicken Lollipop, Navratna Korma, Rara Chicken, and Butter Garlic Naan. Each item was flavorful and served promptly. The vegetarian options were refreshing to see, making it inclusive for everyone in our group. For dessert, we had Carrot Halwa, which was okay but not exceptional. However, a few things left a sour aftertaste. The pricing felt steep, nearly 20% in service charges on top of tax (and that too before the tip), bringing our total to nearly $200. For a group of seven, that was unexpectedly high and not standard compared to other restaurants in the area. These hidden fees weren’t clearly communicated and seemed unjustified given the experience. The restaurant is located on a fairly busy street with limited parking, so plan accordingly. However, the entrance is wheelchair accessible, which is a plus. In summary, great food, good variety, fast service, but expensive with unexpected charges and a less-than-welcoming vibe at closing time. Worth a visit, but go earlier and be prepared for the final bill.

Right in the heart of UIC area. Tried a few appetizers and all exceptional. Chicken 65, jhinga tandoori and fish koliwada. Chicken biriyani was okay. Triple fried rice was awesome too. Highly recommend

Google
I had an incredible dining experience at Adda Indian Cuisine on Taylor Street. The food was bursting with authentic flavors — perfectly spiced, fresh, and satisfying without feeling heavy. The lamb chops were especially impressive: tender, smoky, and marinated just right. But what truly elevated the experience was our server, Stan. He was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. Stan made thoughtful suggestions, checked in at the right times, and made us feel welcomed like regulars, even though it was our first visit. From the fragrant rice to the refreshing water (seriously, even the water hit different), everything was on point. Highly recommend for anyone craving real, flavorful Indian food with top-tier service. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The vibe was amazing from the minute I walked in the door The decorations were immaculate And the workers were really friendly, but the best part by far was the food they had amazing mango lassi and really good curry dishes as well, but my personal favorite had to be the garlic naan it was like all of the other best garlic naans I ever had put together it was crunchy yet soft and had an amazing taste would buy again

Yelp
With the Indian scene in Chicagoland shifting away from Devon as it were, we are on the lookout for new places to try. Adda seems like a good addition to the Indian rotation. This Little Italy joint serves authentic Indian flavors along with some Indo-Chinese offerings (we only tried the Gobi Manchurian which was tasty and NOT your run-of-the-mill tomato ketchup variety). Portions were generous and everything we tried was tasty (though we had to request 'Indian spicy' and every dish could've used just a grain or two more of salt). The veg biryani was serviceable, the bullet Naan was acceptable while the Peshawari Chole had a unique flavor. Service was attentive and prices were reasonable for this area though entrees should include a small rice (its un-Indian to expect customers to order rice separately :)). The dining space is clean/functional but lacks Indian vibes - has a somewhat American/Irish pub aesthetic. They apparently serve chaat till 3PM (?) so we have to try that one of these days. Overall, recommended!

Yelp
Adda Indian Cuisine is an Indian spot that also serves some Indian Chinese food in the Little Italy area. Good Indo Chinese is still rare in Chicago so I wanted to give this place a shot. I got the chicken schezwan rice and goat biryani. Unfortunately the chicken Schezwan rice was mid. The rice is mostly red coloring with the flavor of tandoori chicken and some sautéed onions. Not bad by any means but not great and left some to be desired. The hunt for great, finger licking type of indo chinese food in the city continues. The goat biryani was a lot better! This is definitely a restaurant that you might go to for Indian food and you're less likely to go wrong. The rice was well balanced and generously flavored with whole spices and not dry with good meat pieces. I did like that they also included a boiled egg which is more traditional. Also not too spicy. The only con is that the box wasn't fully packed but a great option nevertheless. Overall a good spot for indian takeout and delivery - can't speak to dining inside.

Yelp
The ambiance inside was really nice. We got sat at the top and it also smelled nice inside too. The service was quick and the food was delicious. We got the fried fish which had so much flavors that paired well with the chutney. We also got their fish coconut curry which was so good, the coconut gave a little creamy taste to it and paired well with the garlic naan. We got their noodles and rice schechaun friend rice, which was good but was expecting it to be noodles and rice mixed together. Everything was good.

Yelp
Came back and everything was SO GOOD and better than I last remembered. The indochinese menu is immaculate, chili paneer and triple fried rice and Gobi Manchurian are SO SO SO GOOD! I can't get over how clever the idea of having a little bit of Gobi Manchurian with the triple fried rice was. I will come back here over and over again. Indian food was great too, paneer was delicious and garlic naan was perfect. Service was also very quick! My request: PLEASE bring back ur lotus appetizer. I never got to try it and chili lotus is my absolute favorite I will buy your entire supply if you add it to your menu again!

Yelp
We ordered triple fried rice- this is very unique dish from indo-chinese fusion. Recommend it for people that have not yet explored this fusion. We ordered this through doordash- Appreciate that the manchurian was given separately from rice, noodle combo. They know what they are doing thankfully. Manchurian good amount of chicken manchurian balls. Schezwan chutney was amazing, just perfect garlicky, spicy!!! Tandoori chicken was well flavored, well bbqed. Highly encourage the business to avoid food coloring in this, your chicken is well seasoned, flavored, definitely goes some sort of tandoor. You really dont need color, usually businesses that are faking the tandoori chicken procedure need color, I promise you dont need it.

Yelp
I have never had Indian cuisine and passed by this place too often not to try it. We went in on a Friday night. We were immediately seated as there was only one other table, and the sat us next to them. For starters we ordered gobi Manchurian and samosas. The samosas had a strong flavor but were so good. My favorite was the gobi. It was so crispy on the outside but so gooey on the inside. It was spicy too. For our entrees, we ordered chicken tikka masala (medium spicy) and buttered chicken (mild) with a side of rice and 2 buttered naan. The food smelled so delicious! To be honest though, I was a little worried I wouldn't like it based on the smell itself but once I tried it, it was amazing. The buttered chicken was so buttery and the tikka masala delectable. I'm glad I got naan and rice. We ended up ordering some to go as well. All in all it was a great experience. I just wish the servers were more attentive and would recommend dishes. It was our first time there and we were confused as to what to order. Also, this restaurant is a la carte. Nothing wrong with that, I just want to share that information.

Yelp
I rarely send food back at a restaurant. But this is an upscale, expensive dinner spot, with the worst service i have ever had for such poor quality food. I'm not even being dramatic. If it was bad service at a mom and pop shop, that's fine, whatever. But we had a waiter we saw one time only. When we walked in the host took two menus and started walking and told us "come." I love indian food and have had many different dishes, all delicious, from many restaurants. I order a new dish at this place, that I think i will like. When it comes, it has a cheese in it that wasn't on the menu, that I really don't like, and wouldn't have ordered if I knew it had that. I have to wave down a waiter to come over for ten minutes. I ask to switch my meal. I had one single bite. I don't like it. He drops a menu at my table and left. When he comes back I ask him he to take this one back and i'll get- and then i'm interrupted. "You want it off the bill" I said yeah, i wasn't a fan, i'd like to swap it with something else. (in the few times i've done this at other places, i've never had a problem, was always treated graciously). He said "you're going to send this back and then get something else and say you don't like it and take it off the bill" ... what? I was confused actually. I said I didn't understand. He said "you're going to order something else and say you don't like it too and want everything off the bill" ... are you serious? I don't make a scene or anything, i'm confused, because there is no way you're speaking to me like i'm a scammer or something. I said "oh do you mean like if you take this one off the bill, I have to pay for the next thing i order I can't send it back?" which is fine. That is completely reasonable. He said "no, we're not taking it off the bill because you're going to not like the next thing and want it off the bill too." ... i said "okay, then take this one back, off the bill, and I won't get anything else." And then he charged me $4 for the rice that came with the meal. And we left. I felt so disrespected. Especially because what I was about to replace it with was something i've tried before and liked. Especially because I wouldn't be the type of person to send two things back, even if I didn't like it I would have stuck with the replacement. Really disappointed because I drove an hour to try this place out. If you want a nice restaurant worth the prices, skip this place.

Yelp
Placed in Little Italy, this restaurant is in a really great location. The restaurant is nice inside. Service was pleasant. Food came out quick after ordering. In appetizers, we had the veg manchurian and the schezwan babycorn. Of the two, we all enjoyed the manchurian more. It is nearly identical to what you'd find in actual street food shops of India. The corn was also good and crunchy coating. For the mains, we had butter chicken and paneer makhni with garlic naan. Both dishes were really really good. We got them in medium spice but a little more spice would be better. Next time, I will be ordering the dishes spicy. Their garlic naan is really good. Taking a star off for a couple reasons. The main dishes had some food coloring which stained our fingers. That was an unnecessary addition to already delicious dishes. And, the tea was served warm not hot. I will 100% be visiting again and trying new dishes! I recommend anyone to go here to try some delish Indian.

Yelp
I came here on my birthday with my mom who is visiting and we both enjoyed a quiet evening celebrating my birthday and I couldn't have asked for more since it was a week day. We ordered the Amritsari chicken tikka which had a little kick to it and came sizzling on a platter. Chicken was marinated nicely and had depth of flavor. It was smoky on the palette and juicy on the bite. We then got the nargissi saloon with Tandoori roti and it was a hit. It came 2 big pieces of potato stuffed with paneer in a cashew gravy. It went really well with the roti. Prices are quite reasonable and service very good.

Yelp
After ages I got to have a good Indian food around Chicago. These days the insta friendly places have no flavor and only good pictures when it comes to Indian cuisine. I am happy with the fact that they are good overall. We were 6 of us and 2 kids. A good big group calls for a big space. With the 2 kids high chair the space didn't feel like running with the other tables. Good ambience and warm light and decor was definitely good to be at. With food We ordered Chicken 65 -5/5 Chicken chetinad - i have had better, would still give 4/5 Kashmiri naan - 5/5 Hakka noodles 10/5 Triple rice -5/5 And few others. Service wise they were friendly and welcoming, not quick enough. I would expect them to tell us the that this is last order or what not. Or accommodate our req. Overall positive! Will visit agai

Yelp
One of the things I love about traveling is trying new restaurants. I was so excited to try this Indian restaurant just a block or so away from the Medical District in Chicago. It did not disappoint. My friend and I ordered Paneer, Biryani, Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. Yes, it was a lot of food, but it made great leftovers the next day! I will absolutely get food from here again. I only have two small gripes. We asked to sit by a window as there were many empty window tables but were told they were all for 4 people. The entire time we were there, there were window tables still available. Additionally, when it came time to pay, we had trouble flagging down anyone to take our payment. Guess they were busy.

Yelp
Came here for lunch a random Wednesday. Was pretty empty. Prompt service and welcoming when we got there. It's a really nice ambiance. Glassware and white table cloths. We got the Roti, the chicken tiki Marsala, and the lamb curry ghoti with sides of rice. I had black tea and my friend had a mango drink. Very tasty food! Great portions. The service was nice.
google avatar

Yukie X.

Yelp
I was greeted upon the door and great service throughout my entire experience with the waiter checking in on our table. We ordered the medium spice for both and it had more of a kick than we thought (but still a good heat level to it!). It makes your nose just a little runny but not enough to break a sweat yet. The dishes all were extremely flavorful in true Indian fashion. The paneer was soft and soaked in the makhani sauce, and big pieces of chunks lamb in the vindaloo. My only suggestion is that I do wish rice came with a side with our entree, since we had to order that separately.
google avatar

Nikith E.

Yelp
Overall, I think Adda was decent. The food was spicy as requested and it was tasteful. It also came out pretty quickly, so service was good. The ambiance of the restaurant is average. It's nothing special. The naan was good, but it was a little soggy, so I think it could have been improved. The prices were higher than I expected though. I think I would go for Indian food at Siri down the street next time, as I think it is better for a similar price.
google avatar

Trina K.

Yelp
Great ambiance, good value for the money, not afraid to use spice for those who like it hot and diverse adult cocktail options. What's interesting is, before entering, we questioned if it was any good because no one was dining in and there was a large sheet of paper taped to the window that said hiring for all positions. The restaurant is beautiful and offers a fair amount of vegetarian, poultry and seafood items. The quality of several staples was lacking and when we received an incorrect entree, our server didn't acknowledge it or apologize. To add to this, we were told that they were waiting on us to leave so they could close while two other tables that arrived after us continued to dine. Kerala Fish Curry Great flavor. Hands down the star of the evening. Butter Chicken I've had dozens over the years and it was my least favorite, The flavorful and texture were underwhelming. I wouldn't recommend it. Chicken Tikka Masala Flavorful but the chicken wasn't very tender. Garlic Naan Can hold it's own and is reasonably priced at $3.99

Yelp
This place is so good and very underrated. I'll admit, an Indian spot in Little Italy seems a little out of place, but this restaurant is so damn good and is honestly pretty affordable. I've tried a bunch of stuff, but here are my favorites: 1. Chicken 65 2. Szechuan Veggie Noodles 3. Garlic Naan 4. Tomato Soup 5. This chicken dish in the photo attached that I can't remember the name of, but it was phenomenal. It wasn't on the menu. Ask the server about it. The service is very friendly. I get this for takeout all of the time, but their dine-in experience is pretty great as well.

sandra C.

Yelp
We had a reservation but as soon as we got there, the host didn't really offer a friendly welcome or greeting. He immediately said that we wouldn't be able to dine in without a reservation. We informed him that he did in fact have a rsvp but he just nodded saying that he had nothing available. It took a few tries before we were able to get someone to confirm our rsvp. Once we were seated, things ran a bit better. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The food took a bit long to come out but I'm going to say that it could've been because this was a school graduation weekend. The food was delicious, portions are adequate and priced perfectly. The place is decorated very nicely, the music is great, good volume so that you can hold a conversation with others. Street parking is a bit challenging. I highly recommend this place for romantic dates, celebrations, family gatherings.

Yelp
Their Kerala Pepper Chicken was insane. I got it spicy and it was the perfect spice level for me. Enough of a kick to need a breath, but not too much where I can't talk because I'm inhaling as much water as I can. Not sure what number that is on a scale, but it was perfect. The restaurant was also dreamy, with some calming music playing. The staff was fantastic as well. I had my perfect meal to end a long day, and I can't wait to come back next time I'm in Chicago!

Klo L.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try (they are open for lunch, close and then open for dinner). Finally tried for lunch on a Wednesday. 5/5-service and ambiance. Kind workers and staff checks in just enough and provided requested items/more water etc. but not too much to be annoying. 4/5-food. Tried chicken tikka masala and a lamb dish recommended by the kind server basmati rice and 2 types of naan bread. (Tikka masala is a traditional dish I use to compare other Indian restaurants). Asked for medium spicy on both. Lamb came out much spicier than tikka masala. Lamb was okay-a little too spicy for medium spice and I don't really know what to compare since I don't often order the same thing at other restaurant other than the tikka masala. Tikka masala was good but not phenomenal. My favorites so far are from Rangoli on north ave (there's a Lincoln Park location which I didn't like as much) and Chicago Curry House South Loop. In general, the chunks of meat are large so you get what seemed like 3-4-ish chunks of meat and a bunch of sauce and a few big chunks of veggies. I tend to like my meat broken up more. The rice was made well and the garlic and pepper naan were great! I will come back to try other dishes. And again, great, kind service!
google avatar

Pilar G.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here but next time I definitely want to dine in! The ambiance inside is intimate, moody, and I love when restaurants have white tablecloths. There aren't enough places that still use them! The staff were polite when I ran in for pick up. For my takeout, I ordered the mutter paneer, basmati rice, and plain naan. The mutter paneer was flavorful, spicy, and a generous portion. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Krupa S.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in the city. I have higher standards given I grew up with it and Adda never disappoints. The gobi manchurian, kadhai paneer and chole are always phenomenal. My husband loves the chicken 65, chicken tikka and the lamb vindaloo. The bullet naan comes with cheese and spice and definitely leaves the tongue tingling. Definitely order from here regularly. The restaurant is also has great decor and the wait times usually aren't too bad!
google avatar

Chay L.

Yelp
Ordered a kerala fish curry with basmati rice. The food was great. The fish curry was really fragrant and filled with the aromatic Indian spices. The portion was not big but was sufficient for me. I like it that they served the rice and the fish curry in separate bowls. Great to share if you are in groups. The staff was also courteous and was ready to dish out some recommendations if you are unsure of what to order. Great restaurant overall.
google avatar

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
Did an order for pick up and overall it was good! Buttered chicken - asked for extra spicy and they delivered! Used white meat so pieces were a little more dry but that's more a preference as I'm a dark meat person. Was a fan! Lamb tikka masala - lamb was tender and the taste was really good Garlic Naan - very good, lots of garlic, and light and airy Basmati rice - was light and fluffy with a decent amount for 2 orders. Would order here again!

Yelp
In the mood for Indian food in Little Italy? Check out Adda Indian Cuisine. No wait on an early Saturday night after a busy day. Called to make a reservation, other places had 8-9 PM time slots, but at Adda we were able to walk right in and be seated at a cozy window booth. The restaurant is so charming. Warm and inviting with such fragrant and enticing flavors welcoming you as you enter. Seated at a booth, we ordered samosas, biryanis, naan and vegetarian entrees. The vegetarians samoas were a perfect appetizer. Stuffed with potatoes and green peas, these pyramid shaped pastries served with a spicy chutney were delicious. The kadhai paneer was filled with large chunks of panner, green peppers, tomatoes and onions. Delish! Found a new favorite with the Baigan Saraf. Japanese eggplant, desiccated coconut, and peanuts is a flavorful creamy yogurt sauce. So good! The lamb biryani was flavorful and filled with large chunks of lamb and topped with a had boiled egg and red onions. The biryani rice pilaf paired perfectly with the vegetarian entrees. Add some of the cucumber raita for a filling effect. Grab a basket of naan to dip in the raita or the other curries. The garlic naan was so flavorful. The perfect way to end a busy day in Chicago.

Yelp
I tried Adda back in 2021 and I didn't like it as much, but I gave it another try recently and it definitely changed my mind. My friends and I had a games night over the weekday and we wanted to order in some chill desi food for dinner. We ordered Veg Machurian, Schezwan Baby Corn, Hakka Noodles and Triple Fried rice. It surely was an Indo Chinese Feast night! Everything tasted really good. They add food color for sure as the schezwan was really red. The food looked a bit unhealthy but Adda can be a good choice if you want to give in to your cravings once in a while!

Devyn D.

Yelp
A delicious gem! The waiters were extremely helpful and hospitable. They gave great suggestions when we were deciding what to order, and let me say they were spot on! The Amritsari Chicken Tikka was delicious! It came out on a sizzling skillet. The samosas with chutney were equally delicious. Thank you to Stan for checking on us throughout the meal and ensuring everything was to our liking! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Indian food has always been hard to find for me to find. This place is an exception. Their butter chicken is 10/10. I also love the chicken tiki masala. Their dal dish was a little soupy for my liking but still tasted good. Overall they have great portion sizes. When we did go in to eat instead of ordering takeout we had great service. Worth a visit!

Yelp
We had the Bhatti Paneer first which was sooooo well seasoned and cooked. This was probably my favorite dish. It tasted like tandoori paneer and the whole spice on top added crunch. Serviced with a cool mint chutney which was a good juxtaposition to the spicy paneer. Gobi Manchurian was a great appetizer to share. Very crispy and saucy and salty if you're a fan. We did paneer makhani for main which tastes like paneer tikka masala if that's what your craving. They don't have PTM on the menu, but this definitely does the job. We asked them to make it spicy which was good choice! It was tomato-y and spicy creamy goodness. We ordered raita, bullet naan and garlic naan on the side. All the naan was soft and served hot - very nice. Well lit and not too loud so good ambiance for dinner date night.

Yelp
3.5 star review. Wanted to try a local Indian spot near us, so we came here . We got the chicken tiki, tandoori and garlic naan. Wish the chicken tiki had more flavor . Tandoori was great and it came on a sizzling hot plate. Garlic naan was amazing . Everything was very fresh and Service is great. Ask for more spice than the usual. Medium was mild .

Sara S.

Yelp
This was our second time there. The first time it wasn't so memorable but we decided to give it another try while in the area. We ordered tandoori chicken and Hakka noodles--- this made all the difference to go from meh to incredible. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was poor. Place was dead and I asked for booth and was told they were all reserved -- meanwhile not a single other person came in during the hour we ate, and none of the booths were ever occupied. Meanwhile the bartender next to our table made tons of noise filling buckets with ice. Maybe if your restaurant is empty, treat the people that Uber there to try your food a little better so they'll be back. Also rice is not included with meals, which is unusual and annoying. But the food and naan were excellent. Just crummy customer service.

Yelp
I have ordered take out in the past at Adda and the food ordered was good so I had a chance to dine in at Adda. It was a weekend and was greeted with open-arms as they should, sat along the windows - The booths were spacious and can seat up to 6 people if needed. I had an idea what I typically want as I ordered my usual Butter Chicken and garlic naan. I tried something new as I ordered a sizzling lamb kabob which ended up 70% onions and 30% meat which was rolled up in a skinny hot dog format. The butter chicken was a bit different tasting as I in the past would take it home - the chicken was super tough and dry. Overall, the food was mediocre at best and they automatically add 18% service charge. The service was for sure not worth 18%. I think I will stick to the take out where it seems to taste better at home.

Yelp
A hidden gem in little Italy! This newly discovered restaurant has amazing vegetarian and non vegetarian Indian food. Everything can be modified, substituted, and the spice levels can be altered. The staff and servers are very welcoming and accommodating! The Punjabi food is great but I loved the apps! They kill it with the Indo Chinese options. My favorites were the paneer chilly and the veg manchurian. The garlic and chili cheese naan are some of the best I've had! Everything comes in shareable portions and the price is great!

Yelp
This place has truly amazing Indian food filled with authentic flavors. We ordered Chill panner which was crispy and delicious. Out main course was Daal Tadka ( so smokey and delicious), Kadhai Paneer ( amazing and not full of gravy), Bullet naan ( crispy and spicy) and Tandoori Roti ( thin and baked to perfection). Overall, the food was super delicious and I cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Went here for dinner and ordered Dal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer with Lacha paratha, garlic naan and pudina paratha (mint flat bread). Everything tasted delicious and Dal tasted really nice and well done. Will go back again.

Yelp
This is the best Indian food I had in Chicago so far, but this is only the third Indian restaurant I have tried overall. The garlic naan was flavorful, but I wish it was served warm. Their biryani rice was good and the butter chicken was really good. They give you a lot of sauce so you can put it over your rice or dip your naan in it. Their peshawari chole was flavorful and its vegetarian. The food was delicious here, but the portions are on the smaller side and the price is a tad expensive for the amount of food you get. Service was great here and the workers/servers are really nice.

Yelp
Ordered with Grubhub through the Yelp app. The restaurant was quiet when I arrived but that was due to the weekend Italian street festival directly outside. They had many online orders ready to go, and my order was ready within a minute of my entering the restaurant. The staff were kind and professional. The mango lassi was very mango forward and much sweeter than I've had at other restaurants, but was refreshing. The jasmine rice was cooked perfectly, and the Chicken Korma was very flavorful with the correct amount of requested spiciness. The roti was tender and fresh, with great taste. I was visiting the neighborhood on a trip to Chicago, but would definitely eat Adda again, perhaps next time in the restaurant. The food didn't disappoint and the Little Italy location offered much entertainment and diverse food options.

Yelp
I love this place. Something about how the restaurant is set up makes it the perfect place to just have a great conversation with a friend. I love coming here on a rainy day. Something about being in a cozy environment with a professional and kind staff eating good Indian food just warms the soul up. Will be back again!

Yelp
Just some really good, high quality Indian food. Service was attentive, courteous and punctual. The restaurant classically decorated with jazz playing, which was a nice touch. Not pictured was the garlic naan, which is a must order (2 orders even).

Yelp
Got take out from this spot last week and let me tell you.... DIVINE best Indian food in all of little Italy. And as an added bonus, the cute hostess will greet you at the door. You can smell the aroma from miles away of the food, not the hostess.

Yelp
I came here on a cold weekday, and it was just what I needed. The atmosphere was warm and quiet. The restaurant has a classy, but cozy appearance. The staff was very attentive. I had the butter chicken with rice and garlic naan. This meal was absolutely perfect. It was warm and flavorful. I hope to come back soon!

Yelp
I've never had a bad experience at Adda. It's my favorite Indian in the city and I live really close, so I've been here a lot! We love the chicken xacuti and butter chicken the best, always with rice and butter and garlic naan. The experience in restaurant is nice and ordering for take out is super quick. I only wish they had more dairy-free options (they have a chicken tikka masala that's dairy free, but it's not the best).

Yelp
We stumbled upon Adda last night by accident and we are SO glad that we did. It was absolutely wonderful and we are excited to add this quality establishment to our neighborhood rotation! First of all, the menu is fantastic! There are so many great items to choose from...we are going to need to keep coming back to try everything! We decided to start with the Chilly Paneer and it was SOOOOO good! Perfectly crisp with a sweet/savory sauce. It melted in our mouths! It will be hard to not get this every time! We both got our own order of Naan. I got the garlic naan and he got the bullet Naan (a green chili). The flavors were zippy and bright. Perfect for ripping and dipping! My spouse got the chicken korma. He loved it! I snuck a bite and the creamy/fresh flavors were divine. Exactly what I want in a Korma. I tried something new for me: Chicken Xacutti. It was a dry coconut rub/herbs with a spicy coconut sauce: so flavorful and creative! I'm glad I tried it and would recommend it if you want something more on the savory side. And of course, the orders came with rice perfect for sopping up the excellent sauce. Prices were great, the ambiance/decor was high class, chic, warm, and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. All in all it was a fantastic first visit and we cannot wait to return again to try more menu items!

Yelp
My first time trying Indian Cuisine and I have to say, I'm a big fan! We started with apps - veg Manchurian, paneer chilly, and chicken lollypop. All three were very tasty and flavorful! The paneer chilly the forerunner but all were so good! For breads, we split the garlic naan, cheese chilly naan, and bullet naan. The green chilly in the bullet naan had a little kick but all were great. There were about 5 pieces per order. For entrees, we ordered the Angarey tandoori chicken - essentially mini drumsticks right off the grill on top of onions, peppers, and herbs. We also ordered the palak paneer and a side of white rice. This complimented the breads! In all - all dishes were savory and portion sizes were about 4-5 pieces per dish. Highly recommend for your first Indian cuisine adventure :)

Yelp
I was really excited to try this restaurant, seeing the glowing reviews and the high Yelp rating. However, I have to admit that overall I found Adda to be a letdown. I came here with my boyfriend on a weeknight, right when the place opened. We were the first ones in the restaurant. First, the positives: the ambience is lovely. The tables are adorned with candles, there are decorative flowers and potted plants along the large glass windows, and the room is spacious with tile floors. This would be a great place for a date. The service was also prompt and we felt well cared for by our wait staff. Ah, but only if appearances were everything. Let's get to the food. We ordered the garlic naan, Chicken 65, and Goan shrimp curry. The garlic naan ($3.99) was pretty good--though brought to our table lukewarm, it was crisp with good garlic flavor. The Chicken 65 ($11.99) was disappointing--the crispiness from deep frying had wilted to sogginess from soaking in the sauce, which itself tasted quite plain. The Goan shrimp curry ($15.99) was also pretty underwhelming-- it was bland in flavor, and I couldn't detect any mangosteen, which is one of the crucial components of the dish that gives it a signature tang. However, the shrimp was fresh and perfectly cooked. And I do want to mention that there is complimentary flatbread with tamarind chutney and mint sauce, which was great! Also, not a huge deal, but after we were told to sit anywhere and picked a nice booth by the window, we were then asked to move to a small table for two because we were only two people (in an empty restaurant). And when we left an hour later, the restaurant was still empty... it felt like an unnecessary slight. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe I didn't order the right menu items (though I did base my order on the other Yelp reviews). It pains me to say that the food at Adda didn't quite meet my expectations.

Yelp
We ordered on Uber eats. Definitely better Indian food compared to many others in the city. We had vegetarian biriyani and dal tadka. The restaurant was able to suggest vegan options on the menu. The food was good quality and fresh. Looking forward to eating from here again.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and service, warm setting, nice piano instrumental music, had the lamb vindaloo, and goat plate, both were great. The goat was PERFECT. Definitely coming back for more ASAP.
