12 Delicious Destinations for Soulful African Cuisines in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Aduke African Cuisine on Pico Boulevard serves hard-to-find Nigerian dishes. On the menu is fufu, a dumpling made of mashed cassava, as well as its cousin amala, which is made of dried yam flour. Served alongside is ewedu, a soup made of jute leaves and meat or seafood. The most approachable dish is suya, grilled meat skewers seasoned with chili pepper, spices, and peanut powder. For the adventurous, Aduke serves igbin alata, sautéed snails in a spicy tomato sauce." - Fiona Chandra

Aduke African Cuisine Review - Pico Robertson - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"It started as as a catering company, but now Aduke African Cuisine has a fantastic full-service restaurant at Pico and La Cienega. The menu is composed of traditional Nigerian food - jollof rice combos, yam porridge, and a whole section of African soups. The pumpkin seed-based egusi is our favorite, but no matter which soup you order, get a side of fufu to go along with it. It’s basically a giant ball of boiled yuca flour, and the ideal dipping device for the spicy and fragrant egusi. The portions are quite large here, so make sure you bring some friends and coworkers." - Brant Cox

First time trying Nigerian food with my roommate and his parents. They got me the yam plate and it was pretty good. I wish they separated the hot sauce from the beans because it was very spicy haha. The fish tastes a bit dry and wish it was more freshly cooked and marinated. Yam fries were great

Google
Friendly staff who were patient with our many questions on their gigantic menu. We showed up late on a Sunday that had great business so we had a few less options than usual. You can get half half on the stews and meat choices, which is great for trying things. Delicious homemade juices. I love that they have a huge vegan menu. We'll be back for the goat!

Aduke is located in Inglewood, right next to Westchester. It is not huge, but it very cute with nice seating inside. I think most get their order to go, but we dine there. The smell of the place is just wonderful. It is also so clean and the service is super nice. If you don't know a lot about African food, they are there is help you. Whatever you get you will love. We really enjoy their steamed rice served with a special sauce (ayamase) made with green bell peppers, onions and African spices and assorted meat, and fried plantain. It is filling and oh so good. The Igbin Alata (sauteed Nigerian snail), I was prepared to hate, but you have to try new things. It was amazing. It is sauteed Nigerian snail in red sauce with sliced onions and tomatoes. It is so teder. You will also love their Nigerian soup cooked with cat fish or tilapia fish and homemade family herbal spices and other condiments. Ask if it is made with catfish that day, if not get another soup. Even their bred is great. Have fun.

Google
It’s casual dining and delicious food with very friendly staff. The dining area closes at 7:30pm even though the restaurant itself closes at 9pm. That was a little confusing but the food itself is delicious and amazing! It’s so flavorful and not too spicy with tons of vegetarian and gluten free options. 10/10 I would definitely recommend.

Google
Hands down my favorite Nigerian restaurant in Los Angeles County to San Diego County. I literally drive 2 hours just to eat here because it’s the only place that has everything that I enjoy eating, my only qualm is that I wish they had puff puff available whenever I come but the times I’ve come they never have it available. Their suya is 4/5 - only because they don’t usually give enough suya seasoning but otherwise it’s great and it’s as authentic as you will get it in America compared to Suya University in Nigeria. Their Amala, Ewedu & Gbegiri is 5/5 - my favorite item on the menue because it’s a specialized soup and rarely do Nigerian restaurants have it in because ewedu is “seasonal” 🙄 somehow Aduke manages to get her hands on it year round lol so I come here specifically for that. Their Jollof Rice Platter 5/5 - it’s sooo good! Not bland AT ALL, they season it to perfection and it also has that slight Smokey taste naija party rice has, it gives lifeeee lol it’s a good start for someone who wants to try Nigerian food for the first time, the chicken is also seasoned to perfection and the plantains are soft and succulent, the spinach on the side is okay, it’s a nice touch to the rice plate. Their catfish pepper soup 3/5 - it’s very herbal and spicy so if you don’t like spicy food - no try am, this is your warning because your nose and eyes will cry from the pepper lol - I just wish they seasoned this a bit more it was very fragrant and herbal but not really savory. Sorrel Drink / Pineapple-Ginger Drink 5/5 - it taste like someone’s grandma who specializes in these drinks made them. Just Excellent! Hands down I enjoy the food at Aduke’s and I always bring a friend and my family to come eat here whenever they’re in town. I plan to eventually try some more of the items on the menu but omooo I enjoy Amala & Gbegiri so much I just end up always ordering it 😂 Lastly their service is amazing the girl and guy in the front counter are so kind and respectful, even when some customers are rude to them they still maintain their composure and respect, they deserve a raise, especially after today I watched one entitled man just be rude to them, and I wanted to speak up so bad but apparently he knows the owner 🙄😑 whatever he should still respect the service workers though. That’s all folks. Enjoy ✨

Google
The food was amazing. We had the jollof rice with goat meat, moni-moni and suya. Everything was delicious the customer service was excellent. My sister has the egusi stew with fu-fu and jollof rice. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything

Clearly the food was great that I was half way done before i remembered to review. Visiting from out of town and decided to try this. The Jollof was definitely a 10/10.

Yelp
I recently visited Aduke's Nigerian Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. Upon entering, the restaurant wasn't too busy. There was a large party leaving as we arrived and another party seated. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which set a great tone for the evening. I ordered the Efo Riro, and it was fantastic! The spice level was just right for me, as I enjoy spicy food. The dish had a great variety of meats, peppers, and vegetables, all cooked to perfection. My friend had the pepper soup, which they enjoyed, but I preferred my Efo Riro--mostly a matter of personal taste and the types of spices, meats, and veggies you prefer. Whether you're in the mood for a rice dish or a soup dish, there's something for everyone here. I also tried the hibiscus drink (zobo), which was really good. It had a fresh, delightful combination of hibiscus and ginger. I thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing drink. Overall, my visit to Aduke's was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait for another trip back. If you're looking for authentic Nigerian cuisine, this is the place to be!

Yelp
The food is delicious. Good service. I had take out, so I can not talk about the Ambience. Good. Music played while I waited for my order.

Yelp
Authentic food! Delicious, high-quality and highly recommended. Go there I'd you're craving Nigerian food. And for those with a sense of adventure who've never tried food from Nigeria, please go there.

Yelp
Aduke is a Nigerian restaurant between LAX and Randy's Donuts. Many of the clientele have either just arrived or are leaving LA. They offer a number of flavorful and spicy stews, savory pastries, and Jollof rice. Egusi Stew: Egusi melon seeds are ground up to provide nuttiness and creaminess to the soup. The dark spinach leaves add a soft texture. Red bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and alligator pepper provide some spice and sweetness to balance the deep brininess. Overall, there's a nice smoky seafood flavor. You can select beef, goat, chicken, or fish. I opted for the beef and the tender strips fall apart with gentle coaxing. The egusi is served with a starchy "swallow" for scooping up the stew. Fufu is boiled yam that has been pounded into a round white ball. It's like a sweet and gummy mashed potato. Technically, you're supposed to dip a small ball of fufu and swallow it whole. The egusi coated fufu is too delicious and I can't resist chewing. Dining Area: Past the counter, there are about a dozen tables in the back. Ordering: Order at the counter off the wall menu or pick something from the steam tables. Parking: There are four spots by the front door and also plenty of street parking.

Yelp
Sooo good that I went and picked it up from her house while she was in transition between her old location and new location. I waited patiently for fresh stew and veryyyy freshly pounded fufu. Her son is a scientist and also is a cook with her and we had a great conversation on masculinity and cooking, which coexist fluidly to me as I learned to cook from my dad. They are a nice family owned business. Very very good Ogbono soup and hot fufu. The seasoning is so perfect and addicting, in the purest way, that I look forward to my next meal.

Yelp
Parking absolutely sucks so prepare for that. Now to the food and vibes... This place reminded me of those fast food Chinese restaurants where all the food is made already on a rotating basis and they just scoop it into your tray. So don't expect anything to be super fresh unless you order yam fries or something that has to be made to order. I ordered the jollof plate with stewed fish. The rice, spinach and plantains were excellent. But the fish was definitely overcooked and hard. I think they fried it and then just put the stew sauce on top. My recommendation is to only fry it lightly and then simmer it in the red stew to finish cooking it so the fish won't dry out and be hard and chewy. There also wasn't enough stew sauce on the fish, so simmering it in the sauce would help infuse it with flavor. Now the fish pepper soup was amazing! I didn't eat it the same day I bought it. I actually froze it and ate it two weeks later and it was bomb. Didn't have to add anything to it. The service was polite. There were two young people--a guy and a gal that helped me out. They were pleasant to work with. I would go back for the fish pepper soup abs maybe give the stew fish another try. The fried yam I ordered was fresh and delicious, especially with the stew sauce. So I'll give it one more try for the stew fish.

Yelp
First time trying Nigerian food so we didn't know what to expect. As we walked in, no one was at the counter so we just grabbed a menu to see what was served. After about 2, 3 minutes, a young man finally comes out from the back and asked what we wanted. Long story short, food was good and flavorful, restaurant had a 'homey' feel. Lacked customer service

Yelp
The food was very tasty, but it was a bit on the pricier end if you order via yelp. Definitely would order in person for a better deal. The food was flavorful, there was a small lot to park in which is definitely a plus. They can be a bit hard to reach over the phone, just as a heads up if you're trying to cater anything. Would come again!

Yelp
Visiting LA for the holidays and I was all "taco'd" out and decided to find a African spot to get some egusi..had been craving it..so what did I do...search Yelp and found Aduke's ..read the reviews and was impressed so after leaving Venice Beach .I headed over... restaurant clean and sevice was delightful... mom and sons were all polite, welcoming and friendly. My greedy spirit took over and I ordered egusi with goat...efo riro with goat as well. Egusi was really good..not as spicy as I personally like but I understand everyone's hear tolerance isn't as high as mine... goat..tender (was sooo thankful for that) ..didn't get to try the efo riro..was full..think I may have eaten too fast... Highly recommend !!!

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but the amount of time I waited for my food was too long. As far as the taste of the food, everything I had was good. Generous portions on the rice but not so much protein with my meal. I ordered the jollof rice with chicken, spinach and plantain. I also ordered a side of beef patty. I might come back again to try the red stew and come when there is live music/band.
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
This restaurant is really really good. 75% of the time. The 3 stars is for the inconsistency. I ordered efo riro from them today which is usually wonderful. However this time it was clearly just plain frozen spinach with a couple of bell peppers thrown in like I could've cooked for myself at home.Absolutely no spices or flavor. I should've known something was wrong when the food was picked up and on it's way to me within 15 minutes. Also the small portion was definitely not worth the $20.
google avatar

Chinyere E.

Yelp
I really want to love this place. But the reality is it's WILDLY inconsistent, especially as takeout. Some days it's been the best, most flavorful Nigerian food I've had in a restaurant setting, and on other occasions it's been dry AF or just filled with struggle. Sadly today was on of those days. My chicken with jollof and moin moin was so bone dry I literally had to make my own sauce to salvage it. Please do better y'all so I can continue to fan girl you.

Yelp
I hate giving Black owned businesses bad reviews but this place needs some improvement. I'll start with the customer service. It was simply terrible. I called in an order, there was no greeting simply "you need to pay before you place the order, are you paying now or later?" I was caught off guard by the rude tone. Before I could even ask how long would it take if I placed the order at the restaurant, she hung up on me. I almost didn't call back but I had a craving for red stew. I called back to place a pickup order and she reiterated that I need to pay ahead to place the order, I said ok and she says "what do you want?...is that it? Okay." You have to pay via Zelle or Venmo to place the order over the phone. When I placed the order, she didn't tell me how long it would take or have a good day or anything, she just said "mhmm" and hung up the phone. I ordered the red stew with chicken. I picked up my food and got all the way home to see they gave me beef?? I don't even eat beef so I'm not sure how they mixed this up. The stew itself is tasty, but watery. I'm disappointed I couldn't even eat it all due to the big chunks of beef in it. After I took the chunks of meat out there was barely any sauce there. Wasted $20. The overall experience was not good at all. I may be back, but will order in person and check my food before leaving.

Yelp
Aduke has been on my bucket list, and I was really excited to have lunch here. Unfortunately, I think we either came on an off day or ordered the wrong things. The young man at the register recommended combo plates so we went with the Jollof rice plate, which had a fabulous spicy red sauce to drench the rice, fried plantains, and a side of very fresh greens. We tried both the fish and the beef as our meats, and both were very dry, like they had been sitting in the warmer since yesterday. The Curry Goat was very tough, rubbery in texture and difficult to chew. We also tried the meat patties, which were okay but also a bit dry. I've only heard good things about Aduke so I really hope I can give it another chance and have a different experience.
google avatar

Damion T.

Yelp
I can't speak too much on the service or ambiance being as this was from a delivery but the food was sooooo good. I ordered the chicken jollof rice combo with goat w/ a side of plantains and spinach. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the rice was perfect, the goat was very tender and succulent. The spinach was the best I've ever had in my life. Safe to say I definitely will be ordering from this place again!
google avatar

Nechelle W.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place and had such high hopes because where else can I get vegan Nigerian food?! First time I had, I got the vegetarian combo, everything was delicious! Tried it out again 2 weeks later and ordered the same exact meal. Sadly, the plantains were not ripe, the jollof rice was undercooked and a bug was in my spinach. As a customer who is coming all the way from SFV just to have this, it's unfortunate this was my experience. Unfortunately won't be coming back as it is too far of a commute to risk inconsistency and bugs in my meal again
google avatar

J D.

Yelp
Jolloff is my favorite. Pretty pricey but large servings. Very flavorful dishes. Authentic Nigerian food.
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
This is my go to food spot if I'm ever in the Inglewood area. This place is DELICIOUS and they serve everything fresh and made to order. I always get the Joll of rice which is amazing with the plantains and the chicken is seasoned perfectly. Each part of this dish is delicious and then I also get the Fufu with egusi stew which is amazing as well. The stew has depth to it and combined with the fufu puts the cherry on top. While the restaurant doesn't have much parking, the inside is spacious and I can't speak enough about the customer service. The cashier and worker were so sweet and kind, that it warmed my heart. I wasn't able to get her name but she made our dine in experience 10x better.
google avatar

Madhurima D.

Yelp
Ordered cowleg soup and fufu. They didn't have cowleg, so instead got goat meat egusi soup. It looked red and spicy but did not burn a hole in my stomach. I would not call it bland, it was still flavorful but not as flavorful as I expected. I could have as much as I want without getting a heart burn. That was a good thing. Goat meat and fufu were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed them.

Letrecia A.

Yelp
Coming west of Manchester, you definitely need to pay attention because parking is damn near dangerous to pull into lol. Problem #1 I called earlier to place my order over the phone so that it would be ready upon pick up. The woman asked me over the phone if I was going to pay over the phone? Really? Who would give out their credit card information over the phone to a complete stranger? My response was no, I'll pay you when I pick up the food. She responded back and told me that I would have to come down and place the order in person. So I took it upon myself and went on grub hub to place my order. Problem #2 Upon arrival, their was a customer picking up his order as well. This was very odd, because the man paid cash. Woowwwww. Was I profiled on the phone because of my voice. This man was African. He recieved his bag and told the cashier hey you owe me $4 dollars change. The boy responded I don't have it, so you can get what ever you want to drink out the cooler and I'll give you a Lil bit extra. The man agreed. I don't know what this man ordered, but once he recieved his bag it was really big and he seemed really shocked. Then after they gave each other a fist bump. Now it's my turn for my order, I let him know my name and he said oh your grub hub. I told him know I just paid through the app and I'm picking up my order. He kept on requesting that I checked in. I did not know what he was talking about, so I just acted as if I checked in. Problem #3;; I was curious about the meat pie, I then asked him could I buy one? This pie came up to $4.95 and I gave him a $5 dollar bill, he then closed the register, took my change and threw the receipt in the trash. I never said he could have my nickel. Then I asked him oh you have a point program here? He smiled and responded only with $50 dollars and over. He never asked if I wanted to sign up. The pie was delicious, buttery and flaky. Some sort of meat and potatoes. But my egusi was not good. My meat was over cooked as if it was under a heat lamp all day, had no spices at all just bland. This is exactly what I get for cheating on Veronica's Kitchen.
google avatar

Hana R.

Yelp
The jollof here is sooo good. Got it with chicken and plantains it was delicious. They warned about the spice but I thought it was perfect wasn't too spicy. The egusi with goat was also delicious but I'll definitely be returning for the jollof. The service was fast!
google avatar

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food. The rice was seasoned well,.some.parts of the beef were tough. Overall felt the prices were too high. I could see paying high prices in a great location but this restaurant is definitely off of the beaten path so the food doesn't warrant the high price to me.
google avatar

Elle T.

Yelp
I was able to order food to go, & cash only because it wasn't open for business yet. Definitely a friendly service because of that! We travel for good food!
google avatar

Obinna A.

Yelp
One of the best Nigerian restaurants I've been to. The place is nice and clean, the staff are polite, and the food is delicious. Highly recommend
google avatar

Yvonne O.

Yelp
Honestly this place is so up and down. Their food is pricey so I expect a good portion of meat choice to come with my side of jollof. How do you give me two tiny pieces of meat that's mostly boney with how much we're paying for!!! I also asked for sauce and they skipped on that!! El Pollo loco serves bigger portions for much less. I'm extremely disappointed and I only found out after I was home waiting to dig in. Day time robbery
google avatar

Dee J.

Yelp
Giving four star because the Esun was not as expected, had it several times else where and have a sense of what it should taste like, there was some spice missing in it. Other than that the food was good! The Jollof rice is one of the best I've had in a while, the environment was clean and the staffs were friendly and very welcoming . Will definitely return on my next visit to LA.
google avatar

Corey P.

Yelp
Finally! A reputable west African spot in LA! I have been craving some egusi since I moved out here a year ago. I called in advance to place my order and was able to pay via cashapp. I ordered the egusi stew with fufu and for my meats I chose the goat (addl $3) and fish. The restaurant has parking available, spacious inside, and the food is served buffet style. For the stews, the meat is mixed in afterward so if you're a vegetarian, you'll be fine! One downside and something to note--the site is not spicy. You have to ask in advance for the spice to be added to it. I just added my own spice to it at home. Flavorful, meat was soft, and the fufu was soft without lumps. Next time I'll be trying the jollof with stew, plantains, and the fish! Definitely recommend!

LaRhonda C.

Yelp
The food was good and the service was great, I really loved the veggie dish This was my first time eating African food I will return

Yelp
Food is so good and the woman working in the front was very sweet! They seemed to be busy when I came in so be patient as I only saw a few workers. I got two dishes with fufu, egusi and efo riro. Both were delicious!

Yelp
I first learned about Aduke Nigerian Cuisine when my best friend shared an Instagram video review of their vegan options. Intrigued, as I make a decent vegan version of Jollof rice myself, I was excited to try their take on it. The initial experience had a few hiccups - it took a while for the staff to attend to us, and the ordering process was somewhat unclear. We weren't sure whether to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, so we opted to find a table and later went to the counter to place our order. Despite the initial uncertainty, the staff member was incredibly friendly and attentive. To my surprise, our food arrived within about five minutes, which worried me at first, but I soon realized it was unnecessary concern. The vegan Jollof rice Combo I ordered included jollof rice, fried plantains, sautéed spinach, and sautéed tofu/mushrooms in pepper stew. It was undeniably one of the best vegan meals I've had, and I'm a bit of a home chef. The flavors were outstanding, and I can't find the words to do justice to how delicious it was. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and I'll definitely be returning. While I think some improvements could be made in terms of order clarity and immediate acknowledgment, the young man who served us did an excellent job making us feel at home.
google avatar

Tio O.

Yelp
Downright horrible service from top to bottom! A business is only as good as its owner, and this owner has a bad attitude. Does not deliver as promised and acts like she is paying you and not the other way round. Be very wary if you use her for catering jobs because she will charge and not deliver as promised. We are still suffering the repercussions of her actions and are considering a legal remedy if this is not resolved. Be warned!
google avatar

Monica J.

Yelp
I was excited to finally be able to savor Aduke Nigerian Cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant there was a young man behind the counter who rudely asked if I was ready to order. I told him that I'd like a few minutes to view the menu. My order was taken, and I asked for a to-go menu. I was told to go onto Yelp. It was obvious that he was overwhelmed with filling online orders and taking orders at the register. As I sat at a table waiting for my order to be prepared I did go onto Yelp and noticed I was eligible for a free drink for checking in. When the young man called me to the counter to get my food, I showed him my phone and asked about the free drink. He touched my phone, mumbling something. How inconsiderate to touch customer's personal belongings without their permission. He then directed me to the cooler behind me for the free drink. The hibiscus, pineapple, and ginger juice were ! Now about the food...I ordered egusi stew with goat meat and moin moin. The moin moin was dry, salty, and oily. The egusi stew tasted and smelled like it had been cooked in a scorched/burnt pot. Disappointed is an understatement! I'll stick to Veronica's where in 25 years, I've never had an issue with the quality of the food or customer service.

Yelp
I ordered the egusi, efo riro, and Nigerian stew, Goat Meat Pepper Soup, and jollof rice. Not going to lie, I've had better. The meat was a bit tough in each of the dishes. The best part was the efo riro. I'll probably try another place if I'm in the mood for jollof or stew.

Yelp
I just got this today. Was very excited for my food. Somehow delivery got delayed by 1 hour. When the estimate was already an hour so it was a 2 hour wait. Not sure if that's Uber eats fault or the restaurant, either way I wasn't too mad about it. When I started eating I found this in my Egusi soup. I nearly ate it but realized it was a strange texture and spat it right back into my bowl. The meat was very rough and hard to chew, couldn't rip the meat apart with teeth and with fingers it was almost rubbery.

Yelp
INSANE! So good! My husband and I are vegetarian so we ordered the combo with rice, spinach, plantains and mushroom/tofu, along with the egusi stew + fufu. I've never had anything like it ... mind blown. Friendly service, bright, happy decor ... we will definitely be back next time we're near the airport. Thank you, Aduke, for this great meal.

Yelp
The worst when it comes to service and professionalism! Never in my life have I had such an experience with a restaurant nor person when it comes to providing service. The fault you for not "checking your food" before leaving their establishment to make sure all is packaged correctly. But will admit to omitting food. And for some reason that's the customers fault? Learn what service is! Learn how to set yourself apart. Such a disappointment to desire and expect something better from them. You lost me and my family at your lack of service.

Yelp
Since I do Uber Eats I find a lot of hidden gems in Los Angeles that I would never think to try. I picked up from this location and knew that I would come back. They have a nice little line of food to choose from to order. I forgot what I ordered but the food and service was A1. The only downside is the parking lot is very small and it is a hard place to pull into. I will definitely be back here to get a plate. They give you a lot of food and it lasts for a day or two. You won't be disappointed. Ethnic food is my favorite and I am adventurous so if you're like me don't hesitate to try them out!

Yelp
Ordered the Egusi Stew w/ chicken and Fufu. The order took almost an hour but it was worth the wait. The stew was amazingly seasoned and the chicken complemented it well! We ate it with our hands and it was worth the mess! Tips: Definitely try the Egusi Stew: chicken, beef or vegan.... The chicken is also pretty good and fufu is amazing with the stew. I will try again as I hear the beef Egusi is good. The meat pies are also pretty good too!

Yelp
If you're looking for traditional Nigerian food look no further than Aduke Nigerian cuisine. The food is so fresh and delicious you will be blown away. The portion size are just perfect. And the flavor of each dish is deliciously appealing to your taste buds. 5 stars!!!

Yelp
I got the egusi stew with tofu and mushroom and fufu. I also got a malt drink. The flavors in the stew were fresh and delicious. Everything was so flavorful. It was also spicy enough for me. I'm delighted that I have plenty of leftovers since the fufu makes it so filling. The only drawback is the price ($24)...but I would still go back. This was the perfect meal for a rainy day. FYI Google Maps does not accurately pinpoint this location, so I had to drive around the area and look for it. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. Thank you for the amazing food!

Yelp
Great customer service. Food is amazing. Portions are great. They got me hooked. I love that they embraced a vegan menu. The egusi stew and the jollof rice combo are a must have I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I guess the food was Nigerian ? But I did not like the fufu. I felt like the seasonings over powered the dish.

Yelp
Ok so my regular spot closed early and I been meaning to try this one...Walked in and ordered, 5 minutes tops. Back in my car I just wanted to taste it...Babeee let me tell you something I done ate more than half of it. It's soooo delicious... The best egusi I've ever tasted seasoned to perfection and the goat meat was tender and tasty. And the fact that they bottled some sorrel aka hibiscus which by the is on point, I'll definitely be coming back for more

Yelp
I live an hour away from this place. And it was my first time trying Nigerian food. I always wanted to try fufu and TikTok brought me to this restaurant. I met the owner and she was really sweet and nice! She packaged my food very fast after I ordered (only waited 2 minutes for my food). I got the fufu and egusi strew with chicken. The fufu was really yummy but the egusi strew was SOOO GOOD!! It was a nice combo, it was so delicious! I'm definitely coming back for more Recommend: (If you like ginger) The hibiscus and Ginger drink in a package bottle with a red cap is delicious

Yelp
Great service from Estella and Tolu tonight! :) We were excited to try Nigerian food and it was a great experience! There is some parking in the small lot outside and some street parking available (but bring some quarters bc that's all they take on the meters) We were recommended Efo Riro stew and we got the jollof rice combo.

Yelp
I ordered some jollof rice and it was tasteless and lack flavor, dry and scrapped from the bottom of the pot.they sit there food in foil containers and it's no telling how long it's been out and sitting there .i also ordered egusistew chicken with foo foo. It tasted like it was cooked in old Greece and the chicken was burnt and dry. .this is absurd and un professional. I noticed the sign that says no refund and no exchanges afteri ordered and they tried to give me store credit and if I had the opportunity to give a less of a star I would ...

Yelp
I had this delivered via Uber eats and everything arrived nicely. The Egusi stew is yummy! Great flavor and must eat with fufu (which is great) I added beef to mine. I will say I've ordered the egusi twice and the texture wasn't the same, but still good. The Jollof rice combo is a large portion. Jollof rice tasted sooo good and the greens and plantains that come with the combo are great. The goat had good flavor, I got pieces that had a lot of fat, some pieces were tender while others tough. Home made zobo infused ginger drink was delicious and refreshing!

Yelp
I've been coming 1-2 times per week for the Egusi (no meat) and fufu. I love that it is premade so there is no wait time and they open early. I definitely recommend trying them out.

Yelp
First time here. It's a small business. I wanted to grab some Nigerian food before the drive down to San Diego. Upon arrival I can smell the aroma. I had to ring the bell a few times to get the staff attention but once they came to the register it was a quick process. They take Venmo, Zelle etc. Their machine was down at that time. My order came out in less than 30 minutes. I reheated the food for dinner. Omg!!!! Delicious! Everything had so much flavor, great spices. I will definitely return and I highly recommend this place. I am a very happy customer.

Yelp
I ordered for pick up. Food was ready and hot when I arrived, however they said they were out of swallow and substituted a Beef Patti. My first time ordering here was a month ago and I ordered Efo Riro, Pounded Yam, and Jollof rice. All the dishes were dynamite except the beef patti which as you might notice in the photo, was didn't seem to be cooked enough. The texture was unpleasant and the flavor was bland unlike the rest of the food.
