Seafood tacos, ceviches, birria tacos, and seafood towers

"Yes, this Sinaloan food truck patio is a massive parking lot in Fruitvale. But that just means you have ample elbow room to spontaneously do a happy shuffle thanks to their incredible aguachiles, ceviches, and birria tacos that strike the perfect cheese-to-stewed-meat ratio. Roll up with a big crew, make sure everyone has cash, hop in the perpetual yet quick-moving line, and prepare for a sun-filled feast on asphalt." - julia chen 1, lani conway
"The colorful Sinaloan truck in East Oakland has a long menu of aguachiles, ceviches, and seafood towers piled high with shrimp, fish, crab, and other mariscos. They also have excellent birria tacos, which you can enjoy in their spacious outdoor seating area. Incredible corn tortillas and a perfectly balanced cheese-to-birria ratio make El Tamarindo’s tacos some of our favorites. They’re $4.75 dollars each (they’re on the smaller side so order three), and you’ll have to walk-up to order. And heads up, you can only pay with cash or Venmo." - julia chen 1, lani conway

"In its early days, Aguachiles El Tamarindo was best known as a seafood specialist — Fruitvale’s go-to spot for fiery camarones a la diabla, fried fish tacos, smoked marlin, and gorgeous (and gargantuan) seafood towers. You can still all that, but the truck has also jumped on the quesabirria hype train, selling a respectably juicy, cheesy, and quite photogenic version." - Luke Tsai

"Like every other taco spot in town, it seems, Aguachiles El Tamarindo has recently jumped on the quesabirria hype train, but the real reason to come here is for all manner of seafood tacos, from the fiery camarones a la diabla to one of the better fried fish tacos in town. Open for takeout 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Call in, order at the truck, or get delivery via Uber Eats or DoorDash." - Luke Tsai
