Ahu Mar Opens in Brickell in Miami, Florida | Eater Miami

"Located in the new Dua Miami hotel in Brickell, Ahu Mar (stylized AHU l MAR) is a wood-fired seafood restaurant helmed by executive chef Victor Rosado, formerly of Fi’lia. I found the ingredient-led menu emphasizes seafood and grilled dishes, with starters such as oysters, lemon pepper calamari, shrimp ceviche with coconut leche de tigre and jalapeño, brioche Parker rolls, a grilled watermelon salad with feta, mint, and citrus vinaigrette, and beef carpaccio with mustard vinaigrette; wood-fired pizzas include a Margherita with mozzarella and basil and a truffle pizza with black truffle cream. From the grill there are choices like branzino filet with parsley aioli, grilled octopus, a 12-ounce rib eye with black pepper jam, 24-hour chicken, and a seafood asopa’o with shrimp and mussels, while other menu highlights include corn raviolo with lobster, spice duck, crispy potatoes with parmigiano and pecorino, and baby carrots with spiced tahini. The bar offers beers, wines by the glass, and a creative cocktail program — highlights include the “Sitting Pretty” (tequila with strawberry and basil), the rum-and-blackberry “Boronica,” and the smoky mezcal-and-chocolate-bitters “Cerebral Sipper” — and the space, which took over the former Fi’lia location, has been revamped with light woods and warm tones, upholstered chairs and cushioned banquettes, an open layout with clear views of the bar and wood-fired oven, and framed black-and-white photographs. Ahu Mar is open daily for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. (bar open from 10 a.m. to midnight), lunch noon to 4 p.m., happy hour Monday–Friday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (bar bites on Saturdays and Sundays 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.), and dinner daily from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m." - Olee Fowler

DUA Miami, Autograph Collection | Hotels Above Par

"The on-site Mediterranean, wood-fired seafood restaurant is recommended for at least one evening thanks to a menu that ranges from playful to refined: standouts include a grilled watermelon salad, truffle pizza, dressed oysters, grilled octopus, and an arroz negro con calamares finished with a sepia sofrito and homemade aioli. It also offers robust outdoor seating, making it a convenient and flavorful dining option during a hotel stay."

SoulEdge: So Electric Baby, Woo-Hoo I understand the hotel is under new management. Right then, arrived late afternoon. Jimena & blonde lady (sorry I didn't ask her name) both gave me excellent service. I ordered Shrimp & Cauliflower pizza, good on its crust. For dessert I had Passion fruit cheesecake. Visit dedicated to my then German American ex girlfriend, she looks like Lagertha from a vikings tv show. And gratitude to a young Spaniard American lady (she resembles model Emily Feld) for her kindness. Update, dine again, I had Spaghetti Carbonara, crispy pork bits gave it a nice taste. And Margherita Pizza, I can smell the fresh basil in the sizzle. Cue in the songs "Lose My Mind" by Don Toliver (ft. Doja Cat) and "Electricity " by Dua Lipa and Silk City. 🇺🇸🇩🇪🇪🇸🎸🙏

Ahu Mar at the Dua Hotel Miami is in an excellent location, perfect for dining outdoors with the night breeze and the charm of live music. The food was excellent and made the evening memorable. The outdoor seating, however, could use some improvement—the chairs and tables were a bit dusty, which is understandable given they’re outside. One disappointment was the live music. When we arrived, it was playing beautifully, and we asked the waitress if it would continue. She gave us the impression that it would, but just five minutes after we were seated, the music stopped. It seemed she had gotten the timing mixed up, which was unfortunate since the live music added so much to the atmosphere. Overall, the food and location were fantastic, but sprucing up the outdoor seating and providing clearer communication about the music schedule would make the experience even better.

My experience was far from what you'd expect from a restaurant in this area. From the start, the service was chaotic and disorganized. It was clear the place was understaffed, and the server seemed unsure about the menu. Couldn't answer simple questions about 3 dishes we wanted some details on. We ordered mussels and a bread basket of ciabatta, but the bread arrived a full 15 minutes before the mussels. Had to request the bread be warmed after mussels got there. There was no flow or coordination, and the delays kept stacking up.When our entrées finally arrived, it took the server ages to check back in with us. I ordered the octopus, which was overcooked, dry, and tasted like it had been sitting under heat lamps far too long. When I mentioned the issue and asked to see a menu to order something else, the chef came over — not to help, but to argue. He defensively said, "I sold 20 of these plates tonight and no one complained." (Mind you, the restaurant was barely half full on a Saturday night.) Not only was the response dismissive, but it completely missed the mark in terms of hospitality.I requested to replace it with the grilled watermelon salad and asked for shrimp on top. Before I could clarify that I wanted the shrimp blackened, the chef cut me off and walked away. What came out was oily, poorly pan-seared shrimp that clearly hadn’t been cooked with care. My guest had the lobster ravioli and described it as just average — nothing special and definitely not memorable. Overall, this was an unprofessional and uncomfortable dining experience. The food was underwhelming, the staff was not attentive, and the chef’s attitude was surprisingly combative. With so many great options in Brickell, I would not return or recommend Ahu Mar.

My husband & I were in town for our anniversary and decided to dine here based on great Google reviews (bonus attached to our hotel.) Our server, Ximera, was very kind and attentive. The food is really quite good. Beef carpaccio needed perhaps a bit of olive oil, salmon and pork chop were perfectly cooked, asparagus slightly over but tasty nonetheless. Recommend the tasty Eiffel 75 cocktail. They will deliver dessert and cocktails to your room upon request. Would highly recommend.

I had such an amazing experience at AHUMAR in Brickell (inside DUA)! I was greeted personally by Ahmed, the chef, who was so welcoming and clearly passionate about what he does. I came in for breakfast, and the food was so good that I actually came back the same day for dinner and that says it all! For dinner, I tried the Ortolana pizza, and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! The flavors completely blew me away with the combination of fresh mozzarella, red onions, squash, peppers, and mushrooms was perfection. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite! Such a hidden gem with incredible food and warm hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

As we were staying at the Dua Hotel, we dined in the restaurant on arrival. We were greeted warmly and offered a choice of where to sit. We shared a couple of pizzas which were delicious and we were served by Cathi who was both engaging and professional in looking after us. Indeed she also took care of us the next day during “apertivo hour” and once again her service and willingness to interact with us was delightful. We were extremely impressed with the restaurant both in terms of food, service & ambience and would not hesitate to recommend. We shall certainly make for the venue next time we find ourselves in Miami.

We had such an amazing experience at Ahu! We came in for happy hour, and the ambience was absolutely perfect, relaxed, stylish, and full of great energy. Our server Jimena truly made the experience unforgettable. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on, every dish and drink she suggested was delicious. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely enhances your dining experience the way she did. We’ll definitely be coming back soon, thank you, Jimena, for making our visit so enjoyable!

I came here to celebrate my anniversary with my husband. This was our first time at Ahumar. We had the best time and we also loved the food and drinks. Our waitress was Ximena. She was great, pleasant and easy to talk to. She gaves us recommendations and nailed it! We would definitely come back here again!

Yelp
The ambience is great. The food is AMAZING! And the service was friendly and attentive. Highlights were: Beef carpaccio, Straciatelli, and the Cauliflower pizza (I know-- I'd never order a cauliflower pizza normally, but let me tell you: it was DELICIOUS!!!!). Great cocktails as well! 5 stars!

Yelp
Stayed 1 week at Dua, convenient to have a restaurant downstairs. Only visited during breakfast hours, never seemed to get busy. Maybe during dinner service. Restaurant very pricey. Breakfast sandwich on the smaller side, got it two different times within my stay and the consistency was not there. The omelette had full strips of bacon, not chopped. The house potatoes never really tasted cooked. The rosemary is overpowering.

Yelp
2.5 stars I have eaten here a few times when it was called Fi'lia and have always been struck by the delicious smell of the wood oven when you can smell from a block away. Unfortunately, my food was unmemorable and the biggest disappointment was the service, with our waitress disappearing for extended periods of time. We even had to go to the hostess to get our check, it was that bad. Doubtful I'll return.

Yelp
This is a new restaurant serving Seafood & Latin Fair, this is Ahu Mar Located inside the DUA hotel you can enjoy an upscale lunch or intimate dinner date night. The hospitality is warm with phenomenal service! They offer mocktails like the guava mama (delicious & sweet!) For apps, the alcapurias which have a seafood topping placed on a yucca fritter or for my oyster lovers try them baked or on the beach style. The chickpea spread while smooth, has a middle eastern vibe with a bitter aftertaste. And one I can't reccomend enough, the mussels. I'm a newbie so the standard has now been set extremely high. For a warm and comforting entree, try out the seafood asopao which translates to soup or the easy going chollo matte which are fried snapper bites served with tartar and cilantro sauce. Dessert: For my chocolate lovers, go for the strawberry fields of chocolate mousse, fresh strawberries, and a kiss of sesame salt. Or the creamy cheesecake with crunchy graham cracker, and dots of passion fruit my favorite.

Yelp
Ok Ahu'Mar might be a relatively new place in Brickell but wow does it leave a good first impression. I came in for the Miami Spice menu (available till the end of September) and let me tell you. This is where it's at! An upscale restaurant with wonderful waitstaff mixed with the mesmerizing aromas coming from the kitchen lead to an amazing experience. To get to the food. The best thing I ate was surprisingly the grilled watermelon salad. The watermelon was grilled to look just like a piece of meat. It was so convincing I questioned if the thing I was eating was actually a fruit. The smoky char on it was a playful dance on the tongue and the tiny hint of meat from being cooked in the same grill gave an unexpected emphasis I didn't know I needed in my life. This place is definitely worth a try and for a $30 Miami spice menu it is 100% a must try before the month is over.

Yelp
I can't help but expose the absolute extortion that is this restaurant. I ordered a $15 cheesecake and it was about the size of a half dollar. You're joking, right?! I expect to be bled to death by a hotel restaurant, but this one takes the cake. Literally.

Yelp
I came during Miami Spice for a friend's birthday dinner, and it exceeded expectations! Each course was unique, sophisticated, and tasted amazing. The duck entree, spicy salmon bite, and cheesecake were big hits with my group. Chef Alex has such beautiful vision and took time to talk to us about it. He and our server Victor made it such a great experience, on top of the great food and vibe the place already offered. Highly recommend for a nice night out!

Yelp
Filia in my neighborhood was one of my favorite restaurants but it recently closed. AHU/MAR is in its place. A shot of blueberry watermelon gazpacho, a superb salmon steak cooked on the fire right in front of of me and some great carmelized brussel sprouts! Maybe this will be a new favorite...and the wine pour is not bad either.

Yelp
Four of us came here for miami spice and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful and service was fantastic. I loved the watermelon salad and the steak. I was pleasantly surprised by the black rice dish! The desserts were amazing!!! Overall, was really impressed by the presentation and flavors. The experience did take 3hrs by the time we left. The su chef touched the table and was very sweet, gave us his business card and asked for our feedback.

Yelp
Although I was promptly seated at breakfast, ordered, received coffee and juice and then had to watch two other tables that arrived well after me (noticed because I was initially offered both spots) receive their meals. After those parties were well into their meals, I approached the restaurant manager to bring it to his attention and I was virtually ignored and passed off to a server (who was the one who took my Oder!). Paid for my coffee and juice ($21) and left without one word from manager standing next to me. The worst managed restaurant I've experienced in a so called "Boutique Hotel", absolutely rudderless. Food overall is hit or miss, had a decent breakfast the day before but not worth the inflated prices in my opinion. Too many other (better) choices in the area.

Yelp
It's a beautiful and airy restaurant next to a hotel. We had a pleasant experience trying their Miami Spice lunch menu on a very quiet Saturday. Overall 4.5! The food was a solid 4. The tomato soup was creamy and nicely spiced paired with a perfectly crunchy toasted bread. We had never had grilled watermelon before and decided to try it. It looked like salmon but it was indeed watermelon. It was a bit too acidic for us but interesting nonetheless. The burger was juicy and the sauce was a perfect balance. The chips were too salty. The pasta made from scratch was very rich with the cheese and I would have liked it more Al Dante. Ice cream was home made and superb. Both chocolate and vanilla flavour were creamy and not too sweet. Service was 5. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She investigated why our dessert took so long to arrive and discovered that they couldn't find any coconut sorbet I ordered. I switched to vanilla ice cream and the restaurant offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience. That was nice service. They have an extensive regular brunch menu so we'll want to return. It's a perfect place for a quiet weekend brunch.

Yelp
From the first bite, the experience of orgasmic food is nothing short of transcendental--a beautifully orchestrated celebration of flavor that awakens every sense. It's as if each dish were crafted not merely to satisfy hunger but to elevate the very soul. The texture, the aroma, the visual allure--all come together to create something extraordinary, and in the realm of Michelin-star quality food, this concept reaches its absolute zenith.

Yelp
Slow service in the day time but outstanding food experience. Lovely outdoor setting that was great for people watching.

Yelp
This was by far the best meal I had in Miami during a work trip. The atmosphere/vibe was very laid back, but still trendy and modern. The wait staff were all super friendly. Everyone from the hostesses, to the runners, to the bussers, were all on point. My server, Emilio, was beyond excellent and made several amazing recommendations to me (watermelon salad and the Syrah wine). Huge shoutout for him! I also had the branzino and octupus, both of which were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. For dessert, I enjoyed the vanilla bean cheesecake. It was a delicious meal and a delightful experience. I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Excellent food, ambiance, and service! Favorites from Chef Victor include the rigatoni bolognese, stracciatela, and the ceviche! Highly recommend if you haven't been.

Johnny M.

Yelp
My favorites are the straciatella, the best marinated chicken with this parsley aioli to die for, and the rigatoni. We come every Friday and they have live music now!

Yelp
Came to have dinner and try the Miami Spice menu. Great presentation and the food was delicious. Calming and warmth atmosphere that doesn't want to make you leave. I sat at the bar and the service was outstanding. Valeria was kind and attentive. She even introduced me to the lounge upstairs which I didn't even know they had. A must try I will definitely be back!
