The 38 Best Restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden

"Two-Michelin-starred Aira is situated in a small marina on the scenic island of Royal Djurgården, just outside the city center. The building’s exterior features a blend of metal, glass, and concrete, but the interior remains light and airy. The kitchen is led by chefs Tommy Myllymäki and Pi Lee, who put together a seasonal multi-course menu highlighting Nordic ingredients. The cuisine is humble and technically precise, often with a touch of surprise. This is modern Nordic cuisine at its finest." - Per Styregård

AIRA

"Away from the bright lights of the city centre sits this strikingly designed restaurant near the beautiful Royal Djurgården. Start with drinks on the waterside terrace, before walking through the open kitchen and seeing the chefs at work on the exceptional menu. Beautifully composed dishes use quality Nordic ingredients, delivering well-judged flavours and fine textural details. It's worth opting for a wine pairing or creative non-alcoholic option featuring ingredients from their garden." - Michelin Inspector

Aira was quite the experience for my 50th birthday week. The service here was exactly what you would expect from a two star restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the surprise Lrug and a card a colleague of mine had worked with the restaurant to enable. Overall the dinner was lovely and well paced. I was very happy with the broad selection of wines that came with the pairing. Overall it was a great experience and I can see why it is a favorite of a few folks I know in the city. The atmosphere was not stuffy at all and came across sort of chill and airy. Managed to find that bottle of Pappy at the end of the evening which topped off quite the memorable night. I don’t think I’ve seen that wide of a selection of bourbon in Sweden. Thanks for the night.

AIRA is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. The meal? Sensational. Every dish a story, each course part of a larger narrative. Flavors that surprise without trying too hard. Texture, temperature, aroma — all orchestrated with discipline and imagination. Service? Absolutely flawless. Calm, attentive, synchronized like clockwork, yet human and warm. It’s what you’d expect from a three-star team. The non-alcoholic pairing — yes, it deserves all caps — was nothing short of a revelation. Carefully constructed, deeply flavorful, and never once feeling like a compromise. Interior and atmosphere? Elegant, modern, and just theatrical enough to feel like you’ve stepped onto a different stage — without losing the Scandinavian soul. I paid 3500 SEK for the menu (plus drinks and extras), and I can honestly say: worth it. If they do earn that third star, I’ll understand the price increase. And I’ll still go back. AIRA is the kind of restaurant that doesn’t just cook food — it makes memories. Bravo

Aira is a 2 star and the experience reflects it. The food is delicious especially the halibut dish. The choices are safe, and you would expect what it taste like (lobster). The main was deer, it was cooked excellently in terms of texture, flavor is a bit blend. Desserts are also good, but what you would expect. The service was impeccable! Atmosphere is great!

CALM OASIS OF DINING IN THE MIDDLE OF STOCKHOLM!!! A quick 10 minute Uber ride takes you to the beautiful location of AIRA surrounded by trees, water and boats that immediately relaxes you into almost a vacation like feeling before you even enter the doors. Our group of 8 had booked the Chefs Table and the wine pairing menu (11 total including 2 "blind" tasting that had the group laughing so much as none of us guessed right but it was fun nonetheless) We were welcomed warmly with champagne by Carl (General Manager) and Malin and given a bit of the background of Aira, the building and design and the story and experience they want all their guests to have. We started with a wonderful Antonius caviar (you have to try this amazing caviar!!) and some ice chilled Purity 51 swedish vodka that hit the spot for sure. We were able to tour the wine rooms before being seated at the Chefs Table right in front of the Kitchen so we could not have had a better primte view for the evening if we tried. Throughout the 5 1/2 hour journey into Aria's delicacies we never felt rushed and the service was top notch. The variety of the dishes (I lost count at 15) consumed both tickle your taste buds as well as giving you art visually in the way of food and presentation. Carl, Malin and the entire staff at Aira obviosuly is passionate about their calling and give their best nightly (thanks to a sustainable work schedule as they later explained ,which reduces if not eliminates altogether the typical F&B burnout when yous pend years working at this level of perfection.) By the time we moved to the lounge and enjoyed some pastries, choclate confections and other goodies everyone was over the moon happy, impressed and full!!!!! Thanks to everyone at Aira for giving us all an amazing evening.

Amazing experience throughout the entire dinner. The staff was absolutely gracious, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We had the tasting menu for dinner, and each course was so exquisitely prepared that we found ourselves instinctively closing our eyes, savoring the flavors in silence, accompanied only by a quiet murmur of delight. The whole evening felt like an incredible journey that left us as relaxed as after a day at the spa. Definitely recommended — a must-try at least once!

AIRA is an amazing restaurant, and the servers as well as the chefs did a wonderful job. For me, some of the disses didn't pair well, but this is subjective. My partner and I chose the juice-pairing, which was the non-alcoholic version to the traditional wine-pairing. This worked great.

Sublime meal at this 2-star Michelin restaurant. The service was impeccable and friendly. The tasting menu food was some of the best we’ve ever eaten. The sauces were incredible and we would’ve licked the bowls if we could. Loved the open kitchen and the approach to have canapés in the bar area and then returning there after the meal for the final sweets and an after dinner drink. Really glad they had the combination pairing of some wines and some creative housemade non alcoholic drinks. I greatly enjoyed all the pairings without having too much alcohol. It was a fabulous evening especially since it also happened to be Aira’s 5th anniversary. Highly recommend!
