The Best Rooftop Bars and Restaurants In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Aire is on top of the Hyatt Centric in The Loop, and since it’s on the 24th floor, it’s unsurprising that the views are incredible. Along with serving cocktails and some local beers (like Half Acre and Revolution), there’s a short food menu with small bites like cheese and charcuterie, flatbreads, and sliders. Come here with anyone visiting the city who you want to impress with a panoramic view of downtown." - adrian kane, veda kilaru

Best Places to Drink Outdoors Downtown | Eater Chicago

"Only open during the summer, the bar on the 24th floor of Hyatt Centric The Loop offers 360-degree views of the city. Enjoy them on a sunny day shaded by an umbrella at a high-top table or on a cool evening cozied up on a couch with a fire pit. Aire’s new menu features refreshing cocktails like the Summertime Chi made with gin, peach, lemon, and sparkling wine, and the Diosa de Monroe, a blend of mezcal, jalapeno, lime, and agave. Order a round and then add some spirited competition with a game of cornhole or Jenga." - Sam Nelson

Google
Views are amazing from all around. One of the best rooftop views in Chicago! Nice music, quick service, you can't go wrong.

Jacob Clark

Google
Great place food was good and drinks were great. Service got a little backed up but still great place

Chelsea Mcgee

Google
The staff was very kind! The food tasted amazing. The scenery is amazing.

Michelle Timian

Google
Drinks were good and pretty well-priced for a rooftop bar. The vibes were pretty bland (could be due to the private events also being held on the rooftop), but honestly you are here for the views and they do not disappoint. Will definitely be bringing more friends up here to enjoy the skyline!

Google
Very polite and nice staff. Came in the morning and evening. Great outdoor space but does lack the Chicago skyline view. Great stop if you are staying in the hotel. Drinks were great

Google
Drinks are very good (albeit on the pricier side), and the seating is great. They do cater to the "business bro" culture. We were sitting at a shaded table (it was 86 degrees out) and were told there was a reservation coming at 4:30 and we could sit there until then (no other open shaded tables). At 4 o'clock, they said we had to move, and the big-business guy watched us like a hawk because he arrived early and the server said we had to move. They didn't even sit at the table after we moved, so it was based on power. Last time I checked, if you reserve a table for a particular time, you don't own that table half an hour before a reservation...you get it at your reservation time.

I went here for my birthday brunch and I’m so glad I did! The views and food was amazing!!! I can’t wait to go back. The bartender was great as well!!!

Google
I ordered the Carnitas tacos which were really good. Didn’t care much for the Marghertia flatbread. My friend ordered the double pattie burger and she enjoyed it. The drinks though were small for the price tag. Overall food is good and the atmosphere is nice with good scenery.

Yelp
This was my first time here. We had stayed at another Hyatt a few blocks away and we enjoyed the Hyatt. We were a little worried after seeing reviews. However upon pulling up there was a valet waiting. He gave me my ticket and instructed me to call the number about 15 minutes before we wanted the car to give them time to retrieve it. The lobby was nice with a restaurant and bar off to the side. Check in was pretty quick and staff were friendly. We got to the room and was pleasantly surprised. The set up is a little different. The main room is average size. There is a little desk and in the wall a fridge and coffee machine. The closet is extremely large for a hotel. It is a walk in with a safe shelving and iron with board. Around a wall is the bathroom which is bright and nicely done. We were very pleased. While we thought the mattress was fine it is low like others have said. It's a platform bed. Also the shower design is funky. You have to open door to turn water on and it allows for water to shoot out on floor. For me not a huge deal. I just put a towel down no biggie. All in all we thought was nice and location is great. If back in Chicago I would stay here again.

Yelp
Bedding--made without fitted sheet. A basic important detail missed. friendly staff. Location was great. I liked the rooftop mainly. However, it was drizzling on a Sunday morning so brunch wasn't possible. Straightforward place to stay but nothing extraordinary. Free waters, coffee in the room. May leave luggage early or after check out. Opted not to but just fyi.

Yelp
This property does not know how to manage their BAR area. The issue I had was how incredibly poorly this Hyatt property manages their BAR. The BAR is immediately adjacent to the lobby and front desk. As I sat in the lobby waiting for some business colleagues, I was shocked at the language and the behavior tolerated coming from BAR. The bartender and servers heard it all but did ZERO to address it except for serving more drinks. I could see the front desk workers, all women, cringe as they heard what was being said, but they too did nothing while people at the bar were loudly dropping "F" bombs and referring to women as "$itches". All this was happening steps away while guests were coming and going with children and family members. This is a failure in training and communication. Hyatt needs to meet with whomever manages this property immediately and get this corrected.

Yelp
I am a big fan of this property. Love the location in the central loop & the rooms are extremely quiet for being in the heart of the city (the Centric by NW Mem Hospital is loud all night w the ambulances). Only downsides - the bed is low (think almost on the floor) and they share a valet so the wait to park can be long. But those are offset by the location, service & wonderful restaurant Brandol on the first floor.

Yelp
Great stay at this Hyatt owned location. I love staying at the Central Loop because of its proximity to everything (Millennium Park, AiC, and the public transport elsewhere). We were received quickly and given the run down of amenities, and after a long day, we got up to a clean room, and comfy beds. The rooms are pretty new looking, as are the bathrooms. The Corner (on the third floor) is a little coffee and tea bar that also has snacks. It's a step up from the coffee machine you have in the room. They have a very capable restaurant below. We ordered takeout from Bandol Brasserie (Yelp 'd it!). Not too shabby. Rooms were made regularly, so when we came back in the afternoon they were already turned over (sheets replaced too), and refreshments replaced. Metro and CTA bus stops close by. Millennium Park, Willis Tower, and AiC are all within walking distance. Close to the shopping district of the Magnificent Mile. I like the hotels in the Loop because they put you in the middle of things without all the noise. Plenty of places to see and shop at, and if you need more, you're never too far. The front desk can get overwhelmed, but I recommend not being part of the problem by trying some self-sufficiency. I definitely recommend this hotel for your lodging needs.

Yelp
Overall a good experience at Hyatt Centric. I stayed here for several nights due to an onsite event with my team a few blocks away. The location is very convenient close to multiple office buildings and good restaurants. The check-in process was fantastic. I arrived late (11:30 PM) during the shift change and the front desk team did not miss a beat. I was greeted warmly and all my questions were answered. I requested that they stow my luggage during the Habitat For Humanity event on my last day and that process was smooth as well. The room (double queen) was clean and comfortable. I love the height of the beds and nightstands because I am a bit vertically challenged. The pillows and beds were quite comfortable and roomy. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the room could use some updates: carpet, ironing board, and coffee machine were all in need of a refresh. Overall a nice hotel in Chicago that served all my needs. I would definitely stay here again

Yelp
We really wanted to like this property as it is centrally located and looked great in photos. We arrived a few hours before check in after confirming that we can check in early. They asked us to pay $25 to check in early, which has not been mentioned before. We paid and went to our room. The room seemed fine but we quickly noticed some major issues. When the shower turns on it is extremely loud, like the sound of a jack hammer. It sounded like there was construction going on directly in our room anytime the shower was on. Very loud and scary. That night around 11pm, we noticed the bed comforter has brown stains on it. We called the front desk to ask for a new comforter and they told us they would send one up. 30minutes later, still now new comforter. We called them back 45 minutes later and they let us know they are working on it. Finally an hour later they called us again to let us know they actually do not have any comforters. A hotel with no spare comforters? Bizarre. The staff was friendly enough but this hotel is very expensive for what it offers and it seems like they nickel and dime for everything. After checking my receipt not only did they charge for early check in but they charged an extra occupancy fee. Sure they have a great rooftop view but they can't provide clean bedsheets? Very unhappy with this experience.

Yelp
am an active duty servicemember and I have been in the Navy for 18 years, I have traveled the globe and prior to joining worked in several customer service jobs. I also have spent time in Iraq and Afghanistan in some austere and terrible conditions, this has molded me into who I am and I have a very very understanding personality. I understand miscommunication is common when you are managing personnel of a hotel this large in a busy city. However, I regret to inform you that my most recent stay at the Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago was very unpleasant and disappointing. I checked in late, which provided ample time for my reserved room to be ready upon my arrival. When I arrived at my room (#612), the entire floor was wet, the carpet and tile with an industrial size fan attempting to dry it. I notified staff and was asked " do i want to move rooms?", which didn't provide me with much faith in the customer service, i replied "Yes. I do not want to move rooms." I thought it was obvious I wouldn't want to stay in a wet room and felt disrespectful to even ask. I was moved to room #812, I unpacked and put all my clothes away, when I went to retrieve the ironing board 2 pillowcases with stains were stuck to it. Furthermore, as the other guest with me was using the shower, pointed out a bunion cushion that people use for their feet was stuck to the shower door. I contacted the front desk and they offered to change rooms. I retrieved the new keys and before I moved all my belongings, I visited the new room. When I arrived this room was also not ready, there was a used washcloth and opened bar of soap on the bathroom counter. At this point I notified staff and they provided no solution. I was already unpacked and now running late for a pre-paid dinner and entertainment I purchased for me and my guest. I was so disheartened at this point I didn't move rooms because I lacked the faith it would get better. So I left for dinner which i was late for and my entertainment which I was late for. I remained in the room till Sunday check out and the bunion cushion from another guest was never removed my entire stay. The lack of effort was rude and unsanitary. Once again, I have stayed in $5 rooms and $1000 rooms all across the world, i expected more and desired better conditions from a world class organization such as Hyatt, but this has definitely impacted my trust and confidence in staying with Hyatt or recommending your organization to others. We are all imperfect people, we make mistakes but no gesture or proper solution was provided to me or my guest.

Yelp
There were issues with the water pipes in my room. My sink only produced hot water no matter which way I turned the faucet. The shower also wasn't in the best condition. There was a random piece of black tape wrapped under the shower head. Otherwise was decent. Friendly service and nice room layout. There is a convenient cafe attached to the hotel lobby.

Yelp
Pro's: Location is good, staff is friendly and helpful. Con's: The bed is worse than a mid-century torture device, the shower design easily floods the rest of the bathroom, takes forever to warm up plus towels are thin and ratty and bar pricing is like you are buying the whole bottle but only get a glass. Would choose a different hotel next time.

Carla H.

Yelp
Stayed here for two nights for a work trip. Rooms are great, clean and remodeled, front desk staff very professional, helpful and friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant is excellent! Good downtown location for business needs. Only negative is the thin walls.

Dean R.

Yelp
Too many other good hotels in the area to stay here. Mold in the bathroom, old and unsanitary fixtures (lamps and table). Totally unacceptable.

Yelp
Finally leaving My stay was great and Roco the manager was great. Your valet was extremely fast he knew my car every time. Thank you for such a great stay.

Yelp
Centrally located in the Loop if you want to be close to the theaters or Millennium Park. We've recently stayed here twice, once in room 2214 which is a corner king room, and more recently received a pre-arrival free suite upgrade due to Globalist status (Room 2009 which is also ADA accessible if you need that). This specific room has an extra half bath that is huge due to the accessibility. The king room is large, but space is oddly used, i.e there is a huge walk-in closet that seemed unnecessary. Both early (12pm) and late check-out requests were also honored. On-site restaurant is not yet operating due to COVID so instead Globalists will receive $30 gift card per day for neighboring restaurant Roanoke. Centrics usually don't offer free breakfast but this location does. It's more of a simple continental breakfast with cereals and microwaveable oatmeal. Recently they also had warm ham and cheese breakfast sandwiches. Free food is always appreciated. Rooms, although modernly decorated, feel a bit tired. Window shades were dusty and shower edges need a deep clean/re-caulking. The bed is too soft and lumpy, sadly not very comfortable. This is an older historical building that's been retrofitted for a hotel, so you'll get those oddball quirks with older buildings like a loud HVAC system. Customer service at front desk is great, they are all pleasant to talk to.

Yelp
Stay here if you like having your belongings stolen and subsequently being hung out to dry. Hyatt Centric The Loop was absolutely unprofessional from start to finish in their handling of theft that happened on their watch from the luggage room. You have plenty of options when staying in Chicago, save yourself the headache and book anywhere else but here. We checked out at noon, but had a late flight out, so asked that our luggage be kept in the luggage room. I watched as the front desk employee put our bags in a room that seemed to be locked requiring a key card swipe to access. When we arrived back later that day, to collect our luggage, we were told that "something" happened, our stuff had been rummaged through, and to inform the hotel if anything was missing. We noticed that all of our belongings were mixed up and not in their original bags. I also noted that my new iPad was stolen, which was a gift from my husband with a sweet inscription on the back. The hotel's response was that I would be contacted the next day from the general manager, which did not happen. I followed up one day later, and the front desk employee seemed very annoyed at my calling. He told me to wait a couple more days for a response from the GM. I never received anything. A few days later, I received a message from an insurance agent asking for my statement of what happened, which I provided promptly. I did not hear anything for over two weeks, despite multiple follow-ups, at which point I called the front desk again and was given the email of the GM. I emailed and received a response that they were waiting on the insurance agent. Shortly after, I received a response from the insurance agent stating he was actually waiting on the hotel to give a statement. A couple days later, I received an email stating that my "claim" was denied due to the fact that the claim check I received states the hotel is not liable for loss or damage to property as a result of negligence unless the act was willfully caused by the hotel or its employees, and there was "no evidence of this." Interesting that it seems that the statement that the hotel provided supports the fact that there was no negligence on their part. Hyatt had the opportunity to make things right by their customers, and they did not. I'll save myself the headache and stay at a better hotel chain next time.

Yelp
Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago provides an excellent stay in the middle of everything. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have available here. Excellent customer service that provides everything that you need.

Yelp
My stay at the Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago was amazing to say the least. Thanks to David Nicosia, the Front desk manager at the Hyatt Centric the loop, Chicago, my family and I had a very accommodating experience that surpassed our expectations. He made us feel comfortable and offered great advice on places to visit during our stay. The rooms are very spacious too. Be sure to check out the Aire Rooftop with stunning views of downtown Chicago. We will most definitely be paying a visit back soon.

Yelp
My stay at the Hyatt was fine, nothing over the top but nothing below average until they lost my favorite set of pajamas lol. Location wise was great-- it was walking distance to many coffee spots, drugstores, and restaurants. The hotel room itself had all the basics and everything we needed, rooms were clean as well. So I came back to the hotel room and found that my pajamas that I hung up were missing so I let the front desk know the next day and they said they would call if house keeping if they found something. We looked through all our luggages and every nook and cranny in the room -- obvi we couldn't find it. I followed up with the front desk the day we were leaving and they said no one wrote a note regarding me informing them of the missing pjs. She then contacted the house keeper and they said they didn't have anything. Basically the general manager came down told me that housekeeping didn't find anything and if there was something that was misplaced then they basically would have for sure found it... which is interesting because how can I misplace a whole and only set of pajamas that I had anyways basically they can't provide reimbursement and I was inconvenienced due to the fact that I had to go out and buy pjs lmao. I'm not trying to be a Karen but clearly they lost my pjs and there was no solution to the issue.

Yelp
Loved our stay! We stayed here for 3 nights and it was very nice! We mainly chose this hotel for its location and pricing since it was relatively less expensive than some other hotels in the downtown area. It also is very close to the Monroe blue line train, making it really easy access from the airport. The beds are relatively low and the blankets are so comfy! We also loved the shower since it was standing and there was plenty of space. The overall feel of the hotel was very modern but warm.

Yelp
Incredibly dirty bathrooms and toilets. Dirty sheets and pillowcases as well. I went to 5 different rooms, all of them with other people's feces in the toilet. They just don't clean the rooms at all. Stay away!
google avatar

Maria A M.

Yelp
Very disappointed at this Hyatt! I booked because it was near the office and centric to many other things, as I am Globalist I was expecting something better. When I arrive I ask for a suite and it was denied by claiming they didn't. Have any suites at the hotel... when I got to the room l, the room is falling apart... the bed is flaking off, the furniture is old, the carpet is full of stains, the bathroom sink does not work, the curtains full of dust and on top of that they only put one bottle of shampoo that's it for a four day stay.

Yelp
The night desk clerk missy is Rude and arrogant and Conceived and do not stay at the desk and she disappear to go pick up food at elephant & Castle restaurant and she has a Smart disrespectful Attitude and i would not recommend anybody to go to this Hotel.

Yelp
Perfect for a quick weekend getaway to Chicago. So easy to explore the Theater District, Millennium Park and The Riverfront from this centrally located contemporary Loop hotel. Loved the beautiful clean lines in the lobby and rooms as well as the panoramic views from the rooftop bar, AIRE. Nice to be able to grab a complimentary quick treat of dried fruits and nuts, savory snacks, fresh fruit or a latte from The Corner. Felt very safe as access to the upper level floors was restricted to your room keycard. As a Hyatt rewards member, I was offered a sweet "suite" upgrade. Felt so special as I entered the foyer of my corner 668 square foot king room. The living room and dining space in my suite were so open and inviting. So happy when I looked out of the windows of my corner bedroom and saw Chagall's Four Seasons in the courtyard of the building across the street. Bathrooms are stocked with BeeKind bath soaps and body wash. Nice to have bottled water available as well. After a long day exploring, it was perfect to relax at Hyatt Centric The Loop. Nice to see how they have renovated and repurposed this historic 1927 22-story art deco building. Great staff, great location. Thanks for a great mini vacation.

Yelp
This hotel is located downtown with good access to the inner city attractions and public transport. The rooftop bar provides excellent views. However, the actual rooms and overall facilities are dated and not particularly well maintained. The floors were never vacuumed and staff forgets to restock the rooms with towels, coffee maker items or toiletries. The place is ok for a business trip but not a holiday where those details would really matter.

Yelp
When I was booking my hotel with the travel service of my firm, they chose this place (probably because it was close to the office and a cheaper option). I did not really expect much since I had no plans on spending so much time in my room during my time in Chicago. It was convenient to get to the office and there is an Equinox on my way home from the office, but it is very simple. Housekeeping by appointment, which I asked them to just have someone come clean everyday. The gym is very small. A lot of treadmills, elliptical and just a set of hand weights with a one bench. Useful when the gyms in the area is closed and just need a quick workout to stretch out the jet legs. Complimentary breakfast in the executive lounge is simple as well. Starbucks coffee, a few muffins, yogurt, and two hot menu items. There is no room service so I wouldn't bother calling for it, which seems to be the approach all hotels are taking nowadays. I still cannot understand how that is a thing. The staff is nice and the rooms are what they are. Only complaint I really had was the shower. The positioning of the door was so odd and it was just a struggle to take a quick shower without getting water all over the bathroom. May consider staying here again due to the convenience, but maybe not.

Yelp
My 2nd time staying here. Distance is walk-able to ANYWHERE downtown/ financial area. Fast check-in. There is a connected/related restaurant next door/attached to it. Spacious rooms. Mini fridge, iron, coffee, etc. My pillows were a bit flat. My back actually really hurt the 2nd night. Right next door to Chase Tower and plenty of food places. All of the food that i post under here (as of 2017) were from the connected restaurant/room service provided by Cochon Volant Brasserie. I also reviewed this place.
google avatar

Hiro S.

Yelp
I was pre-upgraded to a nice suite due to my Hyatt status prior to check-in which was much appreciated! The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. I was thinking which Hyatt Centric I should pick - there is another one near the Magnificent Mile, but I was glad to pick this one because of the convenience to public transportation. Within a block or two, you can access to subway (the EL) to move around. The breakfast option for Hyatt Globalist was nice as well. The issues that I noticed were; 1) There are two Front Desk personnel and when it gets busy, you'd have to wait for a while and there's no Elite line. 2) There were some loud/drunk folks near/around the elevator area in the evening - I wish they had some security folks to control/manage such situation.

Tyler H.

Yelp
This hotel is such a run down piece of crap that the management should be embarrassed and ashamed. The table is dirty with food marks from a previous person, the soap rack is falling off the wall, the headboard is flaking apart onto the bed and every inch of the carpet is stained. I'm surprised I haven't found a bed bug yet considering how filthy this place is.
google avatar

Shamara B.

Yelp
Location great, customer service good. Cool Roof top bar with very good food and drinks. The waiters were cool and helpful. The room was okay could have been better. It was clean but the carpet had stains, the headboard was peeled and touched up with paint. Walls had a little wear and tear marks. The air conditioner was very loud and disturbing and very annoying. Especially when trying to sleep at night and being woken up by it. Would only stay again due to location. Very convenient place to get all around.

Yelp
Fine hotel located in the middle of lots of cool downtown stuff to do. Nice hospitality room on the 3rd floor. Valet service and front desk were all helpful and professional. Room was located on a corner and had windows surrounding half the room. Great view but it was FREEZING. Room could use a deep clean and carpet shampoo but was fine. Massive soaking tub in the bathroom was luxurious and the bathroom was warm. Adequate room without many amenities in a sweet location.

Yelp
I booked the Hyatt Centric The Loop after having to cancel reservations at the Fairmont because we wanted to add another night & they didn't have availability - I should have just moved rooms at the Fairmont, or kept to my original plans. Since this is a Hyatt, and my room cost well over $300/night, I guess I expected too much. When we arrived, there was some long black hair on the floor in the toilet area (yuck!). When I went to take a shower, there was only one of the tiny bottles of conditioner for 2 people for 6 nights. At check-in, we were told that we had the option of having daily housekeeping, or that we could call for it as needed. Also, there were only 2 paper cups for 2 people for coffee/water, whatever. We checked in late on Saturday night. On, I believe Tuesday, I called for housekeeping before we left for the day. When we arrived back that evening, nothing had been done. So, I thought maybe they would come the next day - nope! By then, we were checking out on Friday, so it seemed pointless to ask again. Another issue, which I realize is completely out of the control of the hotel (unless they could install some kind of sound reduction material) is that the vehicle noise from the street was incredibly loud and we were on around the 20th floor! This is the 2nd Hyatt in which I've stayed that I was disappointed in. The other was the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort which I posted about here in 3/2021. I used to think that the Hyatt name was a reliable measure of quality lodging, but I will steer away from them in the future after these two bad experiences. I can find much better quality at this price point.

Yelp
Weekend Stay (July 14-16, 2017) My friend and I stayed at the hotel this past weekend after doing some research and looking at images for the hotel at the website. We were very excited to stay at the Hyatt. Our flight had been delayed and we arrived at the hotel past midnight. At check in, we were greeted by the front desk staff and given keys to Room 307. We could not wait to get into the room. The keys did not work, so we went downstairs and the young man gave us keys to Room 303. Again, the keys did not work. We went downstairs and he gave us keys to Room 903. Finally we were able to enter the room. Saturday evening, we went to AIRE. We were extremely disappointed with the service. I believe there was only one waiter, Taylor. We were seating for approximately 15 minutes before he arrived at our table. We ordered two cocktails, which took another 15 minutes to arrive. I ordered the drink with rum and watermelon and my friend ordered the drink with jalapeno. Drinks are $15. Once the drinks arrived, mine was completely watered down and my friend's had too much jalapeno. We had to ask for water to be able to drink it. Taylor had forgotten our waters so we had to ask him again. By then, we decided to order some food. We split the beef sliders and the Chiquitos. My beef sliders were very well done. We had to ask the waiter for napkins and silverware. At the end of the night, he gave us the check and apologized for the slow service. We also had breakfast on Sunday morning at Cochon Volant. We really enjoyed our time here and the waiter was fantastic. The staff works well as a team. Whoever is the manager here should manage AIRE. Room was great, with two queen size beds. Large bathroom, great shower!. Turn down service was wonderful after walking the city. The beds are super comfortable.

Yelp
I understand the pandemic has changed the hotel industry, but this has got to be the worst in the city now. The only reason to visit this poorly run hotel was the great restaurant, Cochon Volant, and that appears to now be gone.

Yelp
Probably one of the most unbelievable and unprofessional hotels I've ever visit. We came in from out of town a bit early due to reservations and business meetings! Called ahead to see if they could get me in for early check in due to me being a Hyatt member. They said no problem it would be available @ 1pm. Fast forward to we get to the hotel 12:20pm. The girl @ the front desk told me she would call my phone number on file as soon as a room was clean and available. Fast forward to we sat and waited for 2 damn HOURS!!! My partner finally had enough and went up to the girl to see if we could get any update ! She easily said my room was ready and I just needed a form of ID and card! We were beyond pissed because they saw us sitting in the lobby waiting all this time and not one person asked or check up on us! Time wasted and we can never get back! Failure on their part for not communicating! We will never be booking this Hyatt hotel ever again!

Yelp
I have now stayed here three times while in town for business and have decided I don't want to stay there again. Its a great location and the staff is friendly but the rooms are just too weird for me. There are no drawers of any type in the rooms so you have no where to put your non-closet items. I ended up putting them on the bottom of the closet. Just weird. Also, all of the furniture, including the bed, are very low. On this visit, every night around 10pm, it sounded like my neighbor was using power tools in their room. I think it might have been from nearby construction. I did complain the first night and security supposedly looked around but I never heard back from anyone on it. Luckily I had earplugs to block out most of the noise.

Yelp
Wooohoo - other reviewers are a salty bunch! I quite liked this hotel for the most part, probably because the company was paying for my stay. First, if the rooftop bar is open know that it's GREAT. There are firepits and cozy chairs and sofas and beautiful city views. Second, my room was freshly updated and very clean. I like the modern aesthetic but be sure you're rooming with someone you like a whole lot as the bathroom offers very little privacy. There's an attached restaurant/bar as well as about 100 places within walking distance. Wifi is free. Parking is most definitely not. It is an extremely loud location so be ready for your normal city noise as well as dumpsters being collected at 2am. Earplugs mandatory. Great location, great rooftop, super loud. You decide.

Yelp
Great location and fair price for Labor Day weekend. Your room will be serviced upon request only due to Covid. Loved the Drybar hairdryer. Mini fridge in room was nice. I can't recommend the breakfast as on Saturday AM the room was overcrowded and breakfast items sorely in need of restock; we ate elsewhere. Rooftop bar was very busy but a nice perk. Bed was so-so comfort-wise.

Yelp
Meh...2.5 stars. Great location but kind of a weird hotel. The room decor is simple and modern, very European-looking. We had a corner room on the 16th floor with lots of natural light from the many windows. Our room had an odd layout with a lot of unused space, and the bathroom was cramped. It was impossible to shower without water getting all over the bathroom. Bed was small and not very comfortable. Overall, it was fine for a place to stay, but it's overpriced and not as nice as most other Hyatts I have stayed in. Also, the one night we stayed, there was no hot water for a shower. I called the front desk, and the person told me the whole building was out, and a plumber had just arrived to work on the problem. Thankfully, it was back on in the morning.

Yelp
Stayed here on a week-long business trip and was satisfied with my stay. When I checked in, I asked for the highest floor possible with a east facing window. They upgraded me to a deluxe corner-room on the 22nd floor (24th floor is the rooftop bar). I had 2 queen beds, 5 windows, a bathtub, and a larger space in addition to the regular amenities. Loved the view and amount of natural lighting my room received; I woke up to sunlight every morning. The rooftop bar is quiet and adorable. I went there twice during my stay to enjoy the view and breeze. However, -1 star for its fitness centre. Given that its a Category 5 hotel*, I expected more than a tiny room, a fake view, and limited machines. There was only one bench. I appreciated the refrigerated towels and water machine though. *As of 8/1/2016, this Hyatt is going from a Category 4 to a Category 5.

Yelp
A beautiful Summer's eve in Chicago is deserving of a beautiful rooftop outdoor experience! And it is just what you will find at Aire, the new rooftop on the 24th floor of Hyatt Centric Hotel. The space is a large U-shape with sofas to cozy up in at one end, fire features surrounded by moveable seats, 4 tops, stand up tables and plenty of room to gather around and enjoy the 360 degree views of the city. And it you look between the buildings, you can see the blue of the lake in the distance. They have warmed up the space with potted plants and plenty of umbrellas to keep the hot afternoon sun at bay. Also- the music is so much better than many of the other rooftops in town. There was no "Oontz, oontz, oontz" that seems to be the norm in so many of the other roof tops, but rather music I actually like and it was at a volume I could talk over. The food seems to be some of the favorites from Cochon Volant downstairs (I have it on very good authority that they do the food service for the entire hotel) but I need another visit to check it out as we had already eaten at Couchon Voulant before we came upstairs. But the real star here seems to be the service. On the night I was there, the servers were friendly, and definitely on their game. For a place that has been open 5 days at this writing, they pulled it off flawlessly. And even more surprising? I ran into some of them later that night and they were just as friendly after work as when they are working. Entrance to the roof is through the elevators which are located behind the check in desk on the Monroe side of the hotel. I love summer in Chicago. But summer on a rooftop? That's just about perfection!

Yelp
Easy to find and right next to 2 covered parking areas within 2 blocks. Most importantly, the Private Bank theatre is just down the road as is the Monroe entrance to the red lines and blue lines. Hotel is updated and very modern. We enjoyed our easy check-in and the fact our request for a "quiet room" was honored. Our room was on floor 17 and was in a side with only 5 rooms and ours was even more secluded only adjacent to one another room. The elevators for this high rise hotel were quick and we did not have to wait long at all. We absolutely loved the modern bathroom, especially the frosted glass doors. Our room had its own Keurig and refrigerator. We will be back as this item is a great location at a great price through Costco for downtown Chicago.

Yelp
It's okay. Nothing too special. No breakfast. No pool. There was a room though and it cost about $115 a night; very good for downtown Chicago. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I loved staying here. David was the one who checked us in and David has been the one we favorited the most here. He always said something to us whenever we walked in or out of the building. He remembered our names as well from our stay which made us feel more welcomed. Highly recommend staying here. The whole staff was friendly and helpful!!!!

Yelp
We had the best stay. It's in such a convenient location. The staff was so helpful (especially when I needed scissors to cut my dress).

Yelp
Hotel is fine. Staff are super friendly and the restaurant is quite good. Chicago being one of the noisier cities though makes staying here a little harder. There seems to be a lack of sound proofing on windows and walls. Every siren (lots), traffic, or random midnight construction extravaganzas manages to deep into the room. Rooms are clean and modern. Showers take a little while to get warm. But do try the restaurant. Excellent.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Hyatt. We stayed 4 nights, and honestly I have no complaints. The location is great only a block from the L Station. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable, the ROBE in the room was HEAVEN. There's a free 24 hour gym (if you're into that sort of thing), there's also a little common area on the 3rd floor called "The Corner" that has complimentary tea, coffee and water. If I had to state a negative it would be that there is no real "Bar . There is a restaurant in the lobby that serves alcohol, and has a "bar" but it closes early. So if you're looking for a late night cap you wont find it here. But honestly I would come here again, the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that there is nothing "special" about the place. Its your typical Hyatt hotel. Extremely nice, extremely comfortable, but extremely predictable.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hyatt - everything was great! The valet guys are the best especially Sammie - all of the staff here are so nice and friendly and helpful! Our visit to Chicago has been amazing!

Yelp
This was my first time staying at The Hyatt. We stayed inside the loop, close to everything! Train stations for the red line and orange line were only a couple blocks away. We were also close to the shopping area. This hotel was very sleek and modern. The lobby was quite small but it was connected to a restaurant called Cochon Volant. I enjoyed every night during our stay here. The Staff: So friendly and helpful. The Elevators: You have to scan your room key to go up and down the elevators. Very secure. Our Room: We had a standard bedroom with one king bed. Honestly, the part I loved most was the restroom. I was IN LOVE with the shower, it was not your average shower. I kind of regret not taking a picture of it. They also had a blow dryer from the Dry Bar. (fancy!) The bath toiletries were great too (better quality than most hotels). On our second night, I could SMELL how fresh the bed sheets were. That was the moment I knew, I loved this hotel. We didn't utilize the gym because we didn't have time, but I would consider coming back if I ever visited Chicago again.

Yelp
Family of four (6 and 4 y/o) traveling to Chicago for a long weekend. We asked to have our room cleaned and they instead insisted we bring our own garbage and towels into the hallway, refusing to clean the room. Also when we arrived our towels had brown marks all over them. Can't tell if its covid restrictions or the hotel just doesn't want to pay their staff enough to clean rooms. Also went to the rooftop bar and they said it was closed for a private party and sent us back to our rooms. Not much food or activity in the area except a McDonald's, a Walgreens that is closed after 6 and on weekends, and a homeless guy pacing back and forth in front of the hotel entrance. I normally like Hyatt, but in Chicago I would choose a different hotel. Review from the wife "overall terrible".
