AJ’s Jazzy Grill

My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon and a hole in the wall isn't enough praise for this place! Food was delicious, the lady at the desk was super nice and helped when I didn't know what to order, and the shop is small but cozy! My wife loved her Ceasar Chicken Wrap with a Jazz Punch drink, and I adored my seafood topper with fries. Definitely eat here!

I never leave reviews but this place was too good not to. Me and my partner were visiting friends for a short trip and Aj’s was just around the corner from our Airbnb. I came in to pick up our food, we ordered the loaded crawfish fries and the crawfish cornbread, the woman behind the counter was quite friendly and I chatted with a nice couple also visiting NOLA while I waited for my food. While waiting I also got the Jazzy punch and a slice of lemon cake, both looked really appealing. The Jazzy punch was wonderful, very flavorful and sweet. Upon opening up the food, everything looked and smelled amazing. When we got to eating, jaws were literally on the floor. The fries were cheesy, not soggy, seasoned just right and was overall the best experience we could’ve asked for. But let me tell you my FAVORITE part, the cornbread. I’ve never had cornbread with that specific texture and I was blown away. It was sweet and savory, the crawfish was beautifully cooked and I couldn’t get enough. Hands down best cornbread I’ve ever had. If we’re ever back in NOLA we will be back again. Thank you for the wonderful food!

Ordered on door dash Everyone talking bout Keith Lee.. first & last time I tried something an influencer raves about because I think they get paid to say nice stuff But this food is garbage. Garlic Parmesan wings tasted more like salt & pepper wings. Heavy on the salt. The crawfish dressing is the worst I've ever had. And I ordered an additional side of it for later. It’s headed to the waste basket with the rest. I should've gotten my lazy but up went to Oceana Grill for the good crawfish dressing with actual crawfish in it. The fries are severely undercooked and I'm reaching out to door dash because I need a full refund for undercooked, half hard, cardboard tasting, frozen (not hand cut) potatoes. The plain fries were even worse because they needed the Salt and pepper from the so called garlic Parmesan wings on the them. Zero stars is what I would give if I could, and at these prices this is highway robbery. Ugh I’m so upset at myself for not following my first mind and doing what I always do when I’m out of town for work. Stick to what I know that can’t be messed up. I should’ve door dashed jersey mikes, got my usual sandwich bowl, and saved $25. Under cooked French crush is diabolical.. And why is the name of the business different in 3 different places. 🙄 I’m so upset I’ve come back 5 times to add more … after I try to take another bite and give it another chance … like HOW do you MESS up FRENCH FRIES .. oh I know .. you nook them instead of cook them. 🤮🗑️

Trying a restaurant reviewed by Keith Lee for the first time, he hit the mark with this place. Lamb chops were really good, just a bit salty for me. They were cooked perfectly to a medium well temperature, moist and tossed in a sweet sauce. A little spice would have made it even better. The green beans served with the lamb chops were delicious!! The stuffed shrimp seafood pasta was GREAT! We added crab meat to the pasta, and it was worth the wait. The stuffed shrimp were ok, it just needed a dipping sauce for me. It's 3 fried balls served like a side dish with the pasta. Jazzy punch was extremely sweet. Not for me. The wings were under seasoned and nothing amazing. Just ordinary. Overall, We enjoyed the food. Stop by and give it a try. You'll be back.

The service was great. The place was crowded but service flowed. It’s better to order ahead because everything is cooked to order. If you order when you arrive, plan on a 45 min-1hr wait. The food is fresh, hot, and adequately priced for the portions. The lamb chops are small but seasoned to perfection. Crawfish fries and dressing just as good as well. The chicken wrap has plenty of chicken in it, so it’s very filling. Definitely recommend trying this place out. It stayed busy and can probably service many more if it moves to a more convenient area.

AJ’s Jazzy Grill is a Black owned restaurant located on the infamous Claiborne st. They recently received a positive review from popular food critic Kieth Lee. Despite his review they were not experiencing the Kieth Lee effect when I visited. I ordered the Hawaiian Salmon plate which is served with mashed potatoes with cheese and green onions on it and broccoli. The salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection! I literally wanted to drink the sauce the salmon was in. The potatoes and broccoli were also very good as well. There was a wait for the food because they cook it to order but it didn’t take long. The customer service wasn’t bad nor good so nothing to report. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone that wants to eat where the locals eat in the city.

Always drove past but never tried it. Today was the day. Under the Claiborne bridge in a small strip mall. Good was hot and fresh. Got an oyster po-boy, fish and shrimp po boy and lemon pepper wings. Couldn't eat it all in one setting. Food was fresh and well seasoned. Customer service was top tier. Will definitely be back

First time and I was dissatisfied. I had my mind on this place all day after scrolling on their IG I called in an order after getting off of work. They do warn you of a long wait, as expected, because food is made to order so I had a 40 minute wait. I get to my car and go straight for the fries they were nice and hot. I drove home 6 minutes away and sat in my car to eat because I had been waiting to taste. As I go to pick up my wrap I can instantly see it was full of peppers and all the juice was at the bottom of the plate leaving my wrap soaked. I still took a bite and I wasn't feeling it at all. I had about 4 shrimp MAX on the entire thing. The steak or shrimp didn't taste seasoned. One half of my wrap had this thick cut tomato it was sooo big I'm so happy I didn't not bite into it. I could have just asked for a veggie wrap the way they stuffed this thing with those extra large veggies. I ate as many fries as I could that were not wet and I end up throwing my salad wrap away. Def was not what I was expecting. The other items on the menu look GREAT!

The vibes were cool. The servers were nice and informative. The local people/customers were also friendly and cracking jokes with us. Food was spot on!! The salmon bowl was my favorite because it taste like 100 different flavors in 1 plus you get a large portion for a decent price. The blacken salmon wrap was cooked well. Not over cooked like other restaurants salmon. I would have left off the pickle, that I didn't know came on them, but it was still 10/10. One of the best wraps I've had in a while. The fries had a garlic Parmesan l taste to them which was great. A healthy blend of garlic and Parmesan. I didn't taste the pasta unfortunately but it smelled and looked delicious. The fried stuffed shrimp (next to the garlic bread) was stuffed with lumped crab. It was really good and fresh. The only reason this is a 4/5 stars is because it lacks indoor dinning space. It's not the business fault because it is a small establishment but it would definitely make the vibes and atmosphere better. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a filling meal and in the area

Food was a 10/10!!! Fries were perfectly seasoned. Wrap had a good amount of salmon in it. I added crab meat and made it so much more delicious. For the price, it was great. Food came out fast. Everything tasted fresh. I had the berry tea. Not too sweet which is a good thing. The Arnold Palmer was just right as well.

Delicious!!! I ordered shrimp and crawfish pasta with hot lemon pepper wings and a white chocolate bread pudding. The food was made to order so allow time for that but it did not take long. The food was delicious. The bread pudding was a good 5 pounds lol. Very big, enough for a family of four to eat off and very good! Can't wait to go back.

The buffalo chicken wrap was ok... Ummm my fries were cold and Parmesan on cold fries don't taste good. Maybe it was just nasty cause we came right before they closed, but it wasn't good. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing. I waste my money. The stuffed shrimp wasn't good and the pasta was greasy and nasty.

I liked this place a lot I had the blackened salmon with the crawfish fries. Very tasty. Good customer service. I also had the white chocolate bread pudding looking forward to heating it up at home.

I've only had fried shrimp and catfish with hush puppies from here--and I can't wait to have them again!

In town and back home for class reunion weekend of activities. Stopped here for lunch based on a TikTok review by Keith Lee. So glad I did. Food was great and so was the service. The one thing I miss about home is being able to go to a neighborhood spot to get food. This is definitely a neighborhood spot. Do not let the appearance turn you off because in New Orleans those hole in the wall, local places have the best food and this is one of those places.

Most times, the food is so great here! Lately, it's been drowned in butter. To the point where I can't even enjoy the taste of the actual food-- all I taste is butter. I ordered a salmon plate recently which comes w| potatoes + broccoli. Everything literally swimming in butter and the salmon was cooked a little too hard. Just hit or miss, I guess.

Aiight mayne look....I give out a decent amount of reviews, but never have I felt so eager to leave one than I have after I tried this spot. My friends came in and ordered a Philly cheesesteak po boy, loaded crawfish fries, seafood pasta, wings, and bread pudding, along wit a ribeye steak, and literally every entree and side and dessert was straight fire. The portions are hella big too we eat a lot and we couldn't finish it all. You can tell the cook really puts a lot of love in their food cuz I was thinking bout this shit all day after we left. If there was a 6th star I'd give it to em. The workers are all very friendly and nice, the place has convenient seating and is located in a convenient location. We randomly decided to try this spot since we're all from outta town so anyone looking for a spot with some bomb ass food in the city, this your place fr.

This was delicious. I had the stuffed shrimp and dead food pasta. I also grab a sweet potato pie! Get away from the quarter and go here. It was recommended by a local and he was spot on!

The food is so delicious! Me and my girl got wraps, She had the surf and turf and I had the fried oyster and the seafood covered fries which were magnificent and perfectly seasoned, the food is prepared at order so its fresh and ready to smash. The area is a little sketchy but no worries just wait in your car and they will call you when its ready. Will come back!

Yall!!! This is so good! Customer service was great. Food was absolutely amazing! This steak was everything! The place is in a non-descript strip mall. Definitely a no-frills type place. But you will not be disappointed in the food. At. All.

After a long day on an Urban Tour our guide was wrapping up his presentation but before he closed he had to give a shout-out to AJ's Jazzy Grill as he drove by. Once my party arrived back at our hotel accommodations, showered and relaxed out pallets began to crave some good NOLA food. We decided to try AJ's and was not disappointed. Although the venue is located off the beaten path we called an Uber and headed over to an unsuspecting great meal. Our only disappointment was the fish and another item on the menu was not available. our second choice (shrimp w/fries; Salmon w/vegetables was excellent. When hunger strikes you, head on over to AJ's Jazzy Grill but don't let the neighborhood or outside persuade you otherwise. Great service and great food.

Are you tired of the same soul food? Greens, Mac & cheese, yams, chicken etc.?Have you ever ate food that was sooo good you wanted to cry ??? Well this is it baby!! I swear the food was so So delicious that I'm thinking about taking another trip to New Orleans just to get some of Aj jazzy grill! the owner is one of the most virtuous chiefs i ever met, the grilled salmon topped with crab meat & shrimps was succulent the lamb chops were grilled to perfection & flavorsome the shrimp pasta with lemon pepper wings was delectable and the presentation of everything was just mouthwatering, If your in New Orleans & looking for more than that traditional soul food taste ..Baabee this is it! this food is a MUST HAVE! tell AJ Myanka sent y'all

The strawberry Salmon Salad is the best!! hands down. Great customer service to be such a small food spot but if ever you decide to go big you'll be greater. Good food! Good customer service

If you haven't tried AJ's yet you missing out on an explosion of flavor and goodness....my suggestion is to call and order ahead....all great eateries always have a line or a wait....
