The crowd-pleasing food at Alba is good, the wild scene is better - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The back patio at Alba gives off the same energy as Caesar’s Palace—the one in Vegas, not Rome. Espresso martinis are on every table, big bowls of orecchiette with burrata are tossed tableside, and there’ll be at least a few dudes with one too many shirt buttons undone. At a recent meal, somebody at the table next to us shouted that they knew the person who had the keys to the Vatican. Whatever that means. It’s a wild scene even by Weho standards, and while the food at Alba is mostly fine, sometimes good, its most important feature is that it doesn’t distract from the negroni circus unfolding around you. photo credit: Jessie Clapp photo credit: Jessie Clapp photo credit: Jessie Clapp Pause Unmute During one visit, we saw a lady a few lambruscos deep wrap focaccia into her napkin and stuff it into a Birkin handbag. We weren’t as keen on the bread as she was apparently, but there’s enough good stuff on the menu at Alba to ensure everyone leaves happy. The pastas tend to be the best bets, including that tableside orecchiette and truffle-y agnolotti stuffed with caramelized onions—a hit dish from the original NYC location, according to our server who’d wink at us every time we ordered another gin spritz. Flirty? Absolutely. But you’re at a restaurant with a retractable roof and a private speakeasy on the second floor. If you’re not in the mood for a little extra attention, then maybe you’re better off at the other, much quieter Caesar’s Palace. The one in Rome. How to get into Alba Reservations are posted a week in advance, and release times vary. Options are limited if you don't want a 10:15pm table, but we’ve had consistent luck setting up availability notifications. Also, the bar is first-come, first-served. Food Rundown Cocktails Like a greased-up American Gladiator, Alba’s cocktails are both strong and smooth. Big news for the person who’s getting an unsolicited text from you later tonight because you didn’t realize a negroni could sneak in that much gin. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Focaccia De La Casa This dish might be fun to say out loud, but it’s a mediocre bread plate. The focaccia is dense and a bit flat, and the whipped ricotta on the side doesn’t add much. You can skip this one—unless you want something to mop up sauces from the entrees. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Ravioli Fornografia Arriving at the table looking like a miniature Mount Etna diorama, this dish is essentially four giant molten mozzarella cubes wrapped in semolina dough and crisped up in brown butter. Fornographic, indeed. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Shrimp Trapanese Though the shrimp are a bit on the puny side, this dish is saved by a rust-colored almond pesto covering the plate that tastes like a nutty vodka sauce with a texture. If you want to play Zamboni after the shrimp are gone, we recommend getting some focaccia. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Orecchiete The Alba experience demands a tableside presentation, and fortunately, they have a good one. The orecchiette arrives with a softball-sized glob of burrata that’s promptly mutilated with scissors and stirred together with the thick, properly spicy arrabiata sauce. Have your phones ready. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Chicken Alla Diavola At most restaurants, getting the chicken is a sign you didn’t see anything else that looked interesting. At Alba, it’s the must-order. The crispy-skinned cutlets are tender and juicy and the Halloween-orange bomba sauce has an intense fiery-sweetness. Another prime moment for clean-up focaccia here. photo credit: Jessie Clapp" - Brant Cox

Alba - Review - West Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"With its tall trellised walls, retro red awnings, and brooding stone statues, the back patio at Alba exudes the same energy as Caesars Palace—the one in Vegas, not Rome. Espresso martinis fill every table, big bowls of orecchiette get tossed with burrata tableside, and there’ll be at least a few dudes with one too many shirt buttons undone. It’s a scene even by Weho standards, but what makes this Italian spot from NYC stand out is the food largely keeps pace with the crowd. Start with focaccia and whipped ricotta, skip the accanto salad and its bizarre whiff of truffle oil, and prioritize the agnolotti and crisp-skinned chicken alla diavola in spicy-sweet bomba sauce—two hit dishes from the original location. That said, even if you’re just looking to get dressed up, people-watch, and maybe send a text to someone you shouldn’t later, there’s no hotter destination in town right now." - Brant Cox

The Biggest Los Angeles Restaurant Openings in February 2025 | Eater LA

"A New York–acclaimed Italian restaurant opened a Los Angeles location on February 6 in a former West Hollywood art gallery; the LA outpost shortened its name from the New York moniker. Chef and partner Adam Leonti tailors a market-driven approach—scouring farmers markets for spring peas with cipollini onions, squash blossoms in a lemon potato mousse—and highlights house focaccia and a rigatoni primavera." - Mona Holmes

Burrata Is So Boring

"Serves orecchiette all’arrabbiata topped with a burrata orb that servers snip tableside; the dramatic ritual turns the cheese stringy but also muddies the once-delicate tomato sauce, giving it a thick, opaque quality reminiscent of bottled French dressing." - Tammie Teclemariam

Wow! Customer service was super nice! Our server Shannon was amazing! She was kind and attentive, even tho it was super busy! The ambience was super lively. The restaurant was very clean and very nicely decorated, even the bathrooms were clean! The food was delicious! My husband ordered the Pappardelle, which is a mushroom pasta, sooo delicious!! I ordered the lasagna, which has 3 meats, omg that was phenomenal!! We also ordered dessert: Tiramisu, that was so good as well! Everything here was excellent and would highly recommend!

Alba LA is becoming a Beverly Hills Icon, the food is excellent, the atmosphere is great. The place was buzzing, every table was full. Reservations are a must. In our excitement I forgot to take pics of the starters and main course. The main course needs the side dishes to complete it - make sure you ask the staff how the food comes. Makes it super easy to share. Everything was great. We will be coming again.

Absolutely epic! I love the classic old Hollywood vibes with vibrant colors accented with light toned furniture. My waiter was incredible and I can’t wait to go see him again.

The service provided by the entire team is superb! The food was unique, especially for Italian Cuisine. I would recommend it.

Google
I had an amazing dining experience at Alba! The chicken in a rich, savory sauce was incredibly tender and full of flavor, making for a comforting and satisfying dish. The focaccia was perfectly baked—golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—and paired beautifully with the accompanying dip. Don’t want to forget the waitresses we had multiple were amazing always checking on us. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this place for cuisine in a cozy setting. I can't wait to return!

Google
I had the pleasure of visiting Alba for NYE 2025 and had a great time! The ambience felt cool and elevated. The music was on point. But naturally, the star of the show was the food - insanely delicious. Not a single plate missed! The focaccia is a must. My girlfriend and I almost ordered two Truffle pastas that were definitely our favorite dishes of the night. The crudo also had a great flavor. We had the apple dessert to top things off - extremely satisfied! The only downside was that they ran out of squash blossoms. I look forward to trying that on the next visit. Also, phenomenal service and staff! We'll be back :)

Without question, one of the best dining experiences in LA, if not the best. I brought my parents from Australia, both serious foodies and they were completely blown away. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. There’s a real sense of positivity and kindness throughout the restaurant- the friendliness is infectiousand it truly feels like a new era of dining where warmth and professionalism go hand in hand. The manager Judith was so incredibly thoughtful and took such amazing care of us throughout the night. Kevin was also great, very attentive and friendly. The food is spectacular. Every dish is perfection, not a single miss. I especially loved the shrimp and the foccacia bread with the most incredible ricotta spread. The ambience is absolutely stunning. The space makes you feel like you’re in a different realm. The lighting is perfect, the music is upbeat at just the right volume and the overall energy has real soul. From start to finish, the entire experience feels elevated, comforting and just right. A true 10/10. There’s nowhere better in LA to eat!

Google
Went to Alba and honestly? My taste buds are still writing me thank-you notes. • Orecchiette: Little pasta hugs from Italy itself. Ate them so fast I think I blacked out for a minute. • Focaccia della Casa: Fluffier than my self-esteem after three glasses of wine. I would like to be buried in this bread, thanks. • Hamachi: Smooth, buttery, and fresher than my comebacks. Honestly, if this fish had a Tinder profile, I’d swipe right immediately. Service? Chic. Vibes? Giving “first date worthy but also I’d happily come alone just to make eye contact with the focaccia.”

Yelp
I absolutely loved this restaurant. The ambiance feels very European - like stepping into Italy in the summertime. We ordered almost everything from the appetizers and shared the orecchiette, which was easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had. The margarita came highly recommended, but it wasn't my personal favorite (though I'm not a big margarita person to begin with). What truly stood out was the exceptional service- so kind, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure we had the best possible experience. And we did! This place is a must-try. We'll definitely be back many times.

Yelp
Alba is definitely one of LA's hottest spots right now, and I really wanted to love it but overall, I was a bit disappointed. (Worth reading if your planning to go) First, the space itself is beautiful. The décor, arches, lighting, and indoor/outdoor setup all create a super cozy, aesthetic vibe. It's clearly designed to be a trendy, visually appealing restaurant. But a major issue for me was the restrooms. For a place at this level, it honestly made no sense. There are only two shared (unisex) stalls and one sink, and both times I tried to go, there was a line. One time someone had just used it and the smell was... BAD, especially since it's such a small space and right near where people are dining. For a high-end, trendy restaurant, this felt like a huge miss. Food-wise, it was just okay. We ordered a mix of popular and recommended dishes: - Zucchini blossoms: stuffed with a potato filling with a hint of coconut flavor. Interesting, not bad, but nothing I'd order again. Came with a garlic aioli-type sauce which I did like. - Focaccia with whipped ricotta: the bread had a nice crunch, but the ricotta was sweeter than expected and more like a thicker cream. Again, just okay. (4 pieces of bread) - Accanto salad: surprisingly one of my favorites. Simple, refreshing, and well balanced. - Agnolotti with black truffle: Flavorful, but you have to eat it hot..once it cools, the butter separates and it gets oily. I would recommend this one. - Table-side orecchiette with burrata: huge portion, but honestly very basic. It reminded me of something like elevated SpaghettiOs or even a Hot Pocket filling... not what I expected for a "signature" dish. Drinks were good..we tried the Negroni and the Gattuso, both on the sweeter side but well made. Service was great overall, and the bartenders were friendly and fun. There's valet parking, which is convenient. Overall, I'd rate it around a 3.5. The ambiance is beautiful and staff are great, but the restroom situation and underwhelming food make it hard to fully recommend. I might come back to try other dishes, but I'm definitely not rushing back. Thank you for the experience.

Yelp
To be more accurate, I would rate this experience a 4.5, but rounded up since I'll probably want to come back here many times. I booked a reservation here for date night a couple weeks ago, so I was very excited to try out this spot. I heard a lot of good things about this place, and after looking at pictures of the food, I already had an idea what I wanted to order. When we arrived at the restaurant (Saturday evening), it was fairly easy to find metered parking across the street ($4 for 2 hours vs. $20 valet parking), and we just crossed the street. Walking in, the decor was cute, very trendy and posh-looking. Very pink. It was busy, and looking around, there were a range of customers from like...teenagers to older folks, so a nice array of guests. Everyone was dressed to go out on Saturday night. We were seated pretty quickly, but I asked to sit at another table. The both they sat me at was actually in between two seats, which created a gap in the middle. Pretty awkward. The women next to me noticed I asked to move, and they said they were initially seated there too, but also asked to move. The servers were really nice and seated us at another table, which was more comfortable for us. We ordered: Foccacia with ricotta, zucchini blossoms, agnolotti, branzino, the filet mignon, broccolini, a decaf coffee, and the white tiramisu for dessert. We also ordered an old-fashioned and an espresso martini. I was a fan of everything!!! We ate everything too, and I left feeling so full. The only issue was that we waited a long time for our second round of drinks. They actually forgot it, and we had to order it again. And we waited still, even longer after the second order. The drinks didn't come until we were through with dessert. By that time, we just wanted to cancel it, but couldn't even flag down a server to do that since they were busy. Aside from that -- all was really good. It was a successful date night. I'm likely gonna come back with a few girlfriends next time.

Yelp
This place was so amazing!!! I instantly loved it when I walked in. The outside is all open which was so nice and we sat at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The vibe of the restaurant was SO cute. I loved the colors and design of everything + it was poppin for a Tuesday. Our waiter was so great! I had the capri spritz to start which was so refreshing - it had yuzu + lemon drop. We ordered some appetizers - the focaccia Della casa (this was so amazing I esp loved the whipped ricotta), the shrimp trapanese, accanto salad (one of the best salads I've ever had. I loved how there were pomegranates in it). The squash blossoms were also one of my fav things - the sauce was so good. I got the agnolotti which had black truffle and was so delicious. Other people got the steak and branzino which was delish too! We also got a dessert and I don't remember what it was called but it was the cake one w pineapples on top and was also so good! Definitely gives a summer vibe too which I loved!

Yelp
Honestly shocked this place has a 4.2. The enviornment was cute, the wait staff was attentive, but the food is lackluster. Considering what you pay, it's mid tier Italian food. There is little to no flavor in the majority of the dishes... the chef just throws basil on everything. Cute, but won't be back. However, highly recommend the whipped ricotta.

Yelp
If a restaurant from New York opens in LA, I am surely going. Alba is the Italian restaurant of my dreams in the city. The space has an Italian summer feel. It felt like I was on the coast of Capri, just epic! The atmosphere was refined and the music was lovely. The chic vibes are just amazing all around. We kicked off dinner with some drinks and I loved their take on the zucchini blossoms because ricotta filling inside tasted more like a lemon mousse. The Agnolotti really exceeded my expectations and I'm not crazy about mushrooms so that says a lot. But if you have to take one thing away from this review it's the Orecchiette- the star of the show. You have to get this. I'm not sure how something so simple can be so great. The bring out the giant bowl and cut the burrata for you then serve it to you. And it's huge! This was the only dish we could not finish. Chicken Alla Diavola is pretty solid too if you like bomba sauce. We ended dinner with a blood orange sorbet and this was perfect! Light and not too sweet, just perfect for us because we had been stuffing ourselves with so much pasta. I'll be back later in the spring. Until then I will dream about the Orecchiette every night.

Yelp
Our server was amazing by the way! Our resy was at 7 pm and the crowd was just perfect on a Sunday. Very moody and had dark lighting. If you're here for pics, don't sit by the center tables. Otherwise, the food was really good. They had valet which was convenient. Their drinks are actually super good too! I say this is perfect for a date night, and also bring a light sweater at night since they mostly just open the tables outdoors.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Alba for a while and it didn't disappoint! The restaurant is super cute with the decor and all of the pinks and whites. Our waitress was amazing at suggesting drinks and helping everyone at our table get exactly what they were looking for. She went above and beyond and even made up a new drink for a couple of the girls at the table which they loved. All of the pasta dishes we tried were super tasty. We had the pappardelle, agnolotti, and lasagne. We also loved the focaccia and eggplant parmigiana! The only things that were good but not great in my opinion were the chicken alla diavolo and the apple custard dessert. These were both still good but not as much of standouts as everything else. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Maddy T.

Yelp
Dimly lit, small menu, valet parking Alba has both valet and street metered parking. The inside was absolutely gorgeous. It takes you away from the busy melrose life and provides a calm vibe. We ordered a few things: - focaccia: toasted to perfection but still super fluffy and chewy - squash blossoms: toasted die for. The filling for me beat oste and mother wolf - lasagna: great base sauce but I feel like the noodles got lost in it - chicken: omg the seasoning? - Brussels sprouts: super tender and sauced up. I prefer a crispy sprout and these were more mushy Love love loved everything. The banger though were the squash blossoms.

Yelp
Ambiance: Dressy with the feel of a modern Italian summer day/night. Alba has an elevated, celebratory atmosphere that's perfect for date nights and special occasions. The space feels polished and lively, and they also offer a private room for events and celebrations. There is a bar area, but it's more ideal for waiting on a reservation or a quick pre-dinner drink rather than a large group meetup--though it works well for a two-three person upscale, last-minute dinner plan. Food: Overall, delicious and thoughtfully executed, with several standout staples and strong seasonal dishes. Must-orders: Focaccia Della Casa: Bread and whipped spread, need I say more? Orecchiette: A staple item on the menu and absolutely worth ordering every time. Delicious, shareable, and consistently excellent. Toto & Hamachi crudo: Fresh, clean flavors with beautiful notes--great starters. Summer Corn Salad (seasonal): A must-get in the summer. A refreshing twist on corn with hazelnut tones, almonds, and bright seasonal flavor. Filet Toscano (chef's choice temp): Incredible--tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Chicken Diavola: A reliable standout--well-seasoned and consistently cooked right. Skip (personal preference): The squash blossoms weren't my favorite here. Alba prepares them with potatoes rather than the more classic ricotta filling. If you prefer the traditional ricotta style, you may want to pass--but potato lovers may enjoy them. Service: Fantastic across the board. The team is fun, welcoming, and really knows the menu. A special shoutout to Sofia, who is an MVP--she keeps everything running smoothly and is amazing at guiding guests through the menu. From valet to hosts to bartenders, the staff feels carefully chosen and adds to the overall experience. Parking: Valet and street parking available. Overall: Alba is a top-tier choice for celebrations, date nights, and elevated dinners out. Great food, vibrant ambiance, and a standout team make it a place I highly recommend and happily return to.

Yelp
Valet is available out front for $20, but street parking is doable if you're patient. From the moment you arrive, the entrance sets a mood, cool door, neon glow, and a long hallway that carried the unmistakable aroma of fresh espresso. It immediately feels intentional and cinematic. You pass through a lively main dining room that oddly reminded me of a polished, grown-up Blue Bayou (think classy Disney), dim, romantic, and buzzing, but no fake fireflies. We were seated in a smaller side room. This space felt more intimate: warm lighting, tight tables, conversation hum instead of roar... the kind of room where you actually hear your friends and settle in for the night, which was great as my group was there to catch up. Service was a major highlight. Alanna and A.C. were attentive without hovering, and Alanna's recommendations were spot-on all evening. The move here is absolutely to order everything for the table, SHAREABLES. I considered everything we had to be a standout: * Lamb Scottadito -- perfectly cooked and deeply flavorful (3 shanks per order) * Squash blossoms -- delicate and addictive * Focaccia della casa -- dangerous start because you won't stop * Shrimp Veneziana -- bright and balanced (like the sauce they were served in) * Orecchiette Arrabbiata -- real heat, real flavor * Chicken Diavola -- juicy with great char, it was a nice portion * Eggplant Parmigiana -- comforting but refined (my favorite!!) * Agnolotti with truffle fonduta -- probably the table favorite (it was so rich and delicious) Add a couple martinis and a Napa cab and suddenly you realize you've eaten far more than intended, but happily so. Side note, the hand stuffed blue cheese olives were the best EVER! We left around 10pm just as the place transformed into a full scene, packed, energetic, and alive. This dinner was actually the payoff of a lost annual bet, but in the end, everyone wins when the result is discovering a restaurant this good. A complete delight of a night.

Yelp
Came here with high expectations and left feeling a bit mixed. Our waiter was great! Very friendly, attentive, and honestly the highlight of the experience. Ambience was also really nice. Unfortunately, the hostess wasn't very welcoming, which set the tone a bit off from the start. Water refills were oddly difficult to get, which shouldn't really be an issue at this level. Food was hit or miss. The rigatoni dish was good and probably the best thing we ordered. The taglionlini Dungeness crab, on the other hand, was disappointing and barely had any crab in it. The focaccia tasted amazing, but a lot of the pieces were basically just crust and empty in the middle, which was a letdown. We also tried two desserts, and the tiramisu was a definite pass. Overall, not terrible, but not somewhere I'm rushing back to.

Yelp
First time in a long time I had a flawless and excellent experience! Beginning from the service all the way to the food! We were greeted by Kevin, one of the managers, upon walking in, and he confirmed our reservation and immediately took us to our seats, no waiting around what so ever. After getting to our seats, our server Joshua greeted us, and was super helpful when it came to drinks and the food. My wife has a few dietary restrictions, and he was super accommodating by informing us what she can and can't have, and what they can put on the side on each dish so she can have those as well. I'm not one to drink alcohol and am not a fan if alcohol normally, but we were celebrating, so I asked Joshua to surprise me with a drink that I won't taste the alcohol in but will enjoy. I ended up getting three of those drinks, that's how amazing it was. He even brought out extra shots for me since he found out we're celebrating. He even brought out desserts for us in the end! He was excellent and I recommend trying to get seated with him. Overall the atmosphere was amazing, and Alba is officially added on my list of restaurants I will happily return to and take other guests with me to impress. Very highly recommend!!

Yelp
Celebrated a friend's birthday here and glad we did. I feel like in LA, a lot of these upscale restaurants struggle to stand out as they all follow a similar Bestia-like structured menu after its huge success, but Alba absolutely managed to for me. My friend and I split the focaccia, zucchini blossoms, pappardelle with mushroom ragu, and filetto toscano, and all were amazing. For both of us, we ranked from best to worst: pappardelle, zucchini blossom, focaccia, and filet. By no means does that mean the filet was bad: in fact, it was cooked beautifully, but you can get a great steak at many places. This is also coming from someone who doesn't particularly believe in going out for pasta. Service and ambiance were also outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful, and the service was top notch. The servers are really good at upselling in a friendly manner 'cause they make everything sound good but aren't offended when you decline. They got me on the focaccia for sure. Tangent: they also seem to hire some really good looking people 'cause my friend and I were stunned how pretty everyone is with flawless makeup even when they're doing their job excellently. Highly recommend. Parking options include valet, street, or the WeHo library structure a few blocks away if street isn't available and you're not interested in valet.

Yelp
Welcome to LA's best modern Italian restaurant. Our table of 3 was just blown away at how delicious every aspect of our meal came out. The shrimp and romesco appetizer, layered EGGPLANT PARM (think lasagne style), caramelized onion agnolotti, spicy chicken, and NY Steak were mind blowing. It's really hard to focus on what was best since everything was simply fantastic. Forget Funke or Mother Wolf. Alba is so much better The vibe is super down to earth and although upscale it was casual - zero pretense. They were playing a late 50's/60's Motown playlist that added an extra layer of fun to the evening. Special shoutout to our server Shannon (clearly a pro) and Jesse who helped us with the wine. It's nice to have a professional staff who are able to actually manage a table and their guests with perfection. (We were in a slight rush but were able to get through what seemed like ordering the entire menu in 90 minutes). We had cocktails and a $125 bottle of wine and all shared a dessert and the final bill was just over $200 per person (without tax/tip). Venite! Venite! Venite!

Yelp
Loved the beautiful restaurant and its retro vibe. The ambiance is really pretty. The food was good but nothing special enough to make me want to come back. Other reviews don't mention how ridiculously tiny the portions are for the price. We ordered a bunch of things, from appetizers to desserts and honestly, most plates felt like a joke like they were designed for someone on a strict calorie deficit. The only items that felt like regular portions were the sashimi and desserts. For example... the truffle pasta had maybe ten pieces total in it for around $30. Seriously? And what they call a "shared size for the table" is what you'd get as a normal entrée anywhere else. Expect to drop about $125+ per person. Cocktails are around $25+, and they charge $10 per glass for still or sparkling water like it's some bottomless water service. Who does that?! I died laughing. Service was good. Food came out quickly and we didn't have to wait for our table. Drinks were a bit on the weaker side. Valet parking is $20 but you can try your luck with street parking as there were some parking available. Kept going back and forth on how many stars to rate Alba despite the small portions and but overall we had a great time.

Yelp
We dined here on a Saturday night and arrived without a reservation. The manager, Kevin, said they were fully booked but he checked his list and kindly found a table for my guest and me. HINT - don't go there without a reservation. The interior was elegant and soon all the tables were filled. The waiters were elegantly attired and were very attentive. Our waitress explained some of the menu choices and helped us make decisions. I have to say the lighting was a bit dim so I had to use my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. However the dim lighting did enhance the overall ambiance that bright lighting wouldn't have diminished. We split the Escarole Salad which was huge and delightfully prepared with salad, cheese, capers, poppy seed, and ricotta salata. The house dressing was great and perfect for the preparation. The salad was elegantly presented in a lovely bowl. We also had the very tasty Focaccia Della Casa with whipped ricotta. A nice meal starter. I had the Ora King Salmon which was perfectly crusted and cooked to perfection. Its presentation was a work of art. The salmon was tender and a pleasure to eat. For dessert we shared the Semolina Cake, a wonderful end to our dining experience. I hope to return to this restaurant again some day but will definitely first make a reservation. It was really worth dining here.

Yelp
Went here for a friend's birthday dinner. The ambiance was great! The food was fine. Out of everything we ate, the endive salad stood out the most. Service is the main reason for my rating. We felt very rushed. I still had food on my plate when the waiter came over and cleared the appetizer plate. I didn't even realize until my friend asked if I wanted the rest of the pasta, and then we saw there was no plate to put it on. When our friend was putting their wine glass down, the bottom of the glass broke. We tried to get someone's attention and waited about 10 minutes before anyone came over. When someone finally did, they asked if we wanted the wine from the broken glass poured into a new cup. Usually, restaurants would discard that glass and bring a completely new one. One small thing we didn't love was that they lit the birthday candle at the table rather than right before bringing it out. It's not a big deal, just a minor pet peeve we noticed. We may be willing to try it again. There is always room for improvement.

Yelp
My fiancé and have been coming here once a week regularly because the food is that amazing! The service is above and beyond. Giovanni the sommelier, Biard, Kevin, the hostess Emma and our lovely waitress Megan always has our usual drinks ready upon arrival You can't go wrong with any of the pastas but our favorites have been the ORECCHIETTE (a little spicy but not too much) the lasagna is unbelievable and the pappardelle is out of this world. Obviously never skip the eggplant parm. We always get it and we think it's the best in town! (Funke is close). Their FOCACCIA is not to be missed either--so fresh and warm out of the oven. My fiancé is keto but he will splurge on bread and pasta here! The staff is so extraordinary, they often bring us items on the house (and we take care of them accordingly). For appetizers, the tartare is exquisite with the shrimp and squash blossoms. On days that we want to eat a little lighter the Branzino is the star. The ambiance is so chic, the place is usually always packed but the noise level is not over the top at all. They have great music playing in the background always. Being blessed with so many restaurants in our area (we stick to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood) this is one we ALWAYS frequent with good reason.

Yelp
Friendly service at the bar, perfect drinks and even better pastas. Wow. Started with the passionfruit hamachi crudo, very zesty and fresh. Will be coming back for the black truffle agnolotti and omgggg the bolognese lasagna, chef's kiss. The cannolis were outstanding, couldn't have asked for a better meal. Wonderful, cute vibe & excellent service. Thank you Alba team

Yelp
I think this restaurant is fabulous! I love the indoor / outdoor vibes. It screams art deco chic and is perfect for summer nights and brunches. Food is well prepared, service is friendly and efficient and the vibes are great. Perfect place for a fabulous night out with friends, bday celebrations and the like. Definitely a place to dress up and enjoy yourself. Make a reservation in advance!

Yelp
I read some reviews that the dishes were small portions - they were not. I walked out beyond full, slightly uncomfortable. We ordered lots of appetizers, pastas, sides and 1 main. We could have ordered 3 less dishes. The standout items were the ravioli, orecchiette, lasagna and roasted potatoes. The focaccia bread was good too. I could have skipped the chicken and the crab pasta. The ambiance is super cute. I really liked the booths in the indoor room - more privacy. The service was great but they were a little pushy on ordering a lot of items. Our server knew we were beyond stuffed and it was my mother's birthday. I thought they were going to give us a small birthday dessert on the house but convinced us to order a dessert and charged us. We didn't even eat the dessert. The cocktails were good. I would come back again but order just a few dishes.

Yelp
After many recommendations for Alba, I finally decided to confirm, and yes it definitely lives up to its name. The interior is well designed, and transformative. Service was top notch, and very attentive. Food was amazing! For someone who is gluten-free, I still took a chance and ate the pasta and it did not upset my stomach. You can't go wrong with the menu. Everything we had was amazing. I would recommend going with the: Lobster Pasta Truffle Pasta (it is on the sweeter side) Hamachi Crudo Branzino Focaccia with whipped ricotta (the best)

Yelp
Ambiance- when I entered the restaurant there was a beautiful courtyard in the front, however I was seated inside the restaurant to the right..... Ordered the branzino, corn, focaccia, zucca di fiori, bentagliati. Very pleased with my selections - all delicious. Fabulous dining experience at Alba -

Yelp
Love hate relationship service was great at the restaurant Pre restaurant, kind of very unforgiving. From requiring set menus if party is over 6, not accommodating time reservations, almost getting a ticket because valet didn't park correctly. there's a lot of improvements that could play a part in the hospitality 1. Bread was good, creamy sauce 2. Pasta Yummy 3. Steak cooked to perfectio 4. Crispy chicken wasn't overcooked dry, crispy skin 5. Fruit salad, good except the star anise???? Service is great 23 dollars for cocktails is steep. :( Would i come here again? only for special occasions.

Yelp
Tried Alba in West Hollywood for the first time with my sister on a Friday night, and overall we had a great time. The restaurant is super cute -- chic, cozy, and has a fun energy without being too loud. Definitely a great spot for a girls' night or a date. We started with cocktails, and the bartender actually made us an off-menu tequila drink which was really yummy -- big plus for creativity. We ordered the bread and the Hamachi to start, both solid and enjoyable. The gem salad was one of my favorites of the night -- fresh, crisp, and delicious. For mains, we shared two pastas: the lasagna and the Anelotti. Both were good, but not necessarily standout dishes that I'd crave later. The only thing that stung a little was the price. Our bill was higher than expected -- around $180 each -- though I'm pretty sure that was mostly due to the higher-end tequila we requested in our drinks. Not upset about it, just something to be aware of if you like premium spirits. All in all, we had a lovely time. I'm not rushing back tomorrow, but I'd happily return for another dinner or drinks with friends

Yelp
Had reservations for dinnner on a Saturday night and it was busy. Our server Shannon was super cool and very welcoming. She perfectly described the menu items and helped us make some decisions on ordering. Everything she recommended was delicious. The atmosphere and vibe of this place was on point. They were playing great music, bringing out delicious food and providing quality service. The focaccia was light and the ricotta perfectly creamy. The squash blossoms were crispy and the lemon mousse on the inside was soft and tasty. The pastas were both great. However the orecchiette could have used a little more spice and flavor. The overall pasta texture was perfect.

Yelp
Very nice Italian restaurant with amazing service, a great atmosphere, a full bar, and delicious food. Everything we ordered was top-notch. The only thing I wish is that they had a few more low-carb options--but honestly, who cares? I came for the pasta. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Alba is one of my favorite spot in LA, the venue is absolutely beautiful especially when the sun is setting while the patio covering is open. The service is very attentive, our server came to our table explaining the wine list in details. What we ordered- Focaccia - amazing appetizer, perfectly paired with teh whipped ricotta, it was definitely filling but so good. Squash Blossom- Very flavorful, loved the porcini lemon mousse, very light. Shrimp Trapanese- Quite interesting it was very tasty and unique. First time trying the pesto all trapans sauce, which is made out of tomatoes and almonds, I loved it. Black Truffle Agnolotti- Wow must get, this was the highlight of the night, the black truffle aroma was strong, the agnolotti was delicious with a bit of crunchiness to it. Branzino- perfectly cooked, very flavorful, and a wonderful entree, but actually it paired perfectly with the black truffle agnolotti. I would skip the next pasta below. Orecchiette Arrabbiata- stand out dish definitely, better for a group rather than a party for two in my opinion. I love the creamy burrata and the tomato sauce paired. super delicious . Everything we ordered were absolutely amazing. Perfect for any date night or any celebration.

Yelp
Update: A Remarkable Turnaround After my initial visit, Julian, the owner, reached out personally with sincerity and accountability. That level of leadership deserves acknowledgment. Hospitality is tested not when everything goes right, but in how an establishment responds when it doesn't -- and Alba responded well. Our return visit was a completely different experience -- thoughtful, attentive, and polished in a way that reflects a team aligned on standards. From the moment we arrived, there was a noticeable shift in energy. Kevin, Alliah, Sophia, and Julian himself were present, warm, and genuinely engaged. The details mattered this time. Each time one of us stepped away from the table, we returned to a neatly folded napkin placed precisely at my setting. Silverware and plateware were refreshed seamlessly between courses. Glasses of Acqua Panna -- still the gold standard of bottled water, in my opinion -- never reached empty. These are small gestures, but in hospitality, small gestures are the difference between dining and being hosted. Service felt intuitive rather than procedural. Attentive without hovering. Present without being intrusive. This is how you execute an elevated dining experience. When the service matches the ambiance and culinary ambition, Alba absolutely delivers. Credit where it's due -- they listened, they responded, and they demonstrated the level of care their concept promises. For those deciding whether to visit: this is a restaurant that stands behind its name and understands that hospitality is the product. There's also some new items on the menu, the veal is incredible and would highly recommended.

Yelp
came here for a birthday dinner! vibes were cozy and restaurant had a nice lighting. totti tasted like bitter peaches, but not the worst cocktail. blood orange mocktail was unfortunately very watered down. food was great though! focaccia was so soft and crispy on the outside, paired rlly well with the whipped ricotta which didn't have a strong flavor. my favorite was the truffle agnolotti. rich and creamy truffle flavor with delicious stuffed meat. wouldn't typically order fish at a restaurant but branzino surprised me. fish was so tender and melted in my mouth. their alcohol infused desserts made me curious so i chose pear shaved ice with prosecco. perfect dessert to balance the savory dishes. very refreshing and could really taste the pear pulp.

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant and food is okay but it took 40 minutes for the next course to be served in our meal. Very frustrating when all the other tables were getting served and it was hard to get their attention as well. We thought maybe it was taking a while to cook but the food was not hot when it arrived either.

Yelp
Joining a group of friends who live in Los Angeles for a Friday dinner at Alba, and after entering a small discreet entrance, and walking through a long hallway, found a very surprisingly large dining room and bar area, very lively crowd, and found our group in an adjoining dining area in a large banquette. I have been to many Italian restaurants in Los Angeles and was looking forward to dinner here. For a starter, had the squash blossoms which were good but missing something like another layer of flavor, the stuffing was interesting just not incredible. Had the Spaghetti Vongole which was very good, just the right amount of binding to the pasta, perfect texture, not over garlicked, tasty clams just enough natural saltiness to this classic staple. The hosts were very good about getting us to the table and checking in on us during the evening, minor complaint, had to find them when we were short a salad, and the waiter forgetting to bring real sugar after asking, for the cappuccino and no hosts to be found when they were needed for something! The restaurant has potential but need to level up the service related to food at the table.

Yelp
New York's celebrated Cucina Alba restaurant and some of its signature dishes have arrived on the West Coast at Alba in West Hollywood. Chef Adam Leonti creates fine dining Italian food in an elegant and casual trattoria setting. Great service. My favorite dish is the orecchiette pasta served with a spicy arrabbiata sauce & creamy burrata cheese. It's cut & mixed table-side.

David S.

Yelp
Food was actually good and the atmosphere was nice, which makes this even more disappointing. What completely ruined the experience was getting charged $10 per person for water when we only asked for one bottle for the table. On top of that, no one came back to refill it and the service was pretty inattentive the whole time. It honestly left a bad taste in my mouth, not just because of the charge, but because it feels like this is how they treat their guests. I don't think I'll be going back. At this rate, I'm just glad we didn't ask for ice, that probably would've been another charge lol.

Yelp
I had some time to kill before attending an event, so when I saw a meter on Melrose a little ways down from Alba, it was meant to be. There was a line towards the host stand, most of the people didn't have reservations and the ones that did were sent to the bar to wait for the rest of their party to join them. Crowd was older, and friendly. A nice bartender (dark blond curls pulled back, glasses) offered up a menu, and when I was trying to decide between drinks, I could tell by his reaction to go with my first choice. He was right. Del Piero was refreshing with elderflower, cucumber, and a sprig of mint. Along with a glass of water, this was something I was able to nurse for the brief time I was visiting. Staff up front seemed a little stressed due to the crowds and demand, but handled everything smoothly. I inquired if they would ever start serving food at the bar, and they didn't have a timeline if they would due to the lack of space, etc. I thought the manager provided me with his card, but had to laugh when it said 'Judith' so it clearly wasn't his (I would have probably done the same smart-ass thing as well had I been in his position). Otherwise, this seems like a popular place to have a drink or if you're lucky to get a reservation, a decent dinner. For now, I'll leave it at 3-stars, but I look forward to upping my rating-

Yelp
I was really excited to try this spot and maybe it was just an off night. It's obviously a spot that everyone is wanting to try so getting a table can be hard - we had reservations at 8 - got seated around 830. The inside of the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Really loved all the decor. Our waiter came by quickly and was super kind throughout the meal. The food itself (we got the focaccia, blossoms, Calabrian tartare and then the agnolotti and then the spaghetti, all were insanely sweet. We were so confused. Like so sweet we didn't even need dessert after lol. Would come back to try other stuff and see if it was just an off night because the vibe itself was great. Just really was thrown off with a few things as a first time guest.

Yelp
My friend and I were waiting to try this place and luckily enough to snag reservations, even though it was pretty late. The restaurant is super aesthetic. Parking can be a bitch, but you can valet your car in front. Shout out to the staff Sophia, Josh, & Emma which made the dining experience impeccable. I'm all about customer service & they delivered, especially with that whipped ricotta. On to the food.. Focaccia: the bread was so good we got extra, but that whipped ricotta ... FUEGO! 5/5 Tomato and cucumber: very refreshing. Love the yuzu. 5/5 Squash blossoms: paired well with mousse 5/5 Orecchiette: saucy and flavorful 4/5 Chicken: was so moist and delicious 5/5 Steak: this was pretty good, but was too full. 4/5 Dessert: the staff recommended it. It reminded me of French toast. Loved the puree on top. 5/5 Everything was amazing from the service to the food. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Went here recently with a friend of mine and had the best time! The restaurant is stunning, the service is amazing, and the food was delicious!!! Alba really is a very cute place for a night out. The ambiance is perfect - dim with great features. Our waiters were fantastic and super attentive. And our food was impeccable. We loved everything we ordered! The shrimp was delicious. The Crudo was fresh. The truffle ravioli was phenomenal. The bread was perfect. And the branzino was fabulous. Can't wait to go back and try more!!!

Yelp
Came here for a girls night out! It's newer and i feel the vibe. There were paparazzi outside cuz there were some celebrities in there. So you know what you're walking into. Food - had the bread, endive salad, branzino, mushroom ragu which we both shared. Overall tasty and we were satisfied. Loved the salad and branzino. The branzino was smooth with no bones. The ragu was okay, i wouldn't say I'm dying to have to it again. I think the noodles were a bit too hard for my liking. Martinis were amazing! Def recommend. Service - overall great. No complaints. Cute uniforms. Ambiance - definitely has the current modern, colors, art deco-ish vibe. We went on a windy night so I will say I didn't realize it's actually fully outside but with an upscale tent which was apparent when the covers were blowing off at one point. Prices- spent $300+ between both of us. Def more on the pricier end which is expected.

Yelp
Personally had been dying to go to this place for a while. Looked so cute in pictures and had heard great things. We loved all the food and definitely loved how cute it was indoors. I personally was very disappointed in the service - our server was amazing but will admit I'm assuming it was the manager and he wasn't very kind. Our party was running behind and I reached out as well and we apologized as it was a weeknight after work. However we were greeted with an attitude and then as we were wrapping up dinner the manager kept hovering around to passive aggressively tell us our time was up. We would've honestly appreciated the honesty rather than the hovering around. We also would have respected that and left but it genuinely was not appreciated on how it was handled. Also there were still plenty of open tables so we would've understood if we were taking someone's table but don't think that was the case. I'd love to come back but unsure with how that service was overall.

Yelp
The decor is spot on. Warm like an Italian al fresco summer night dinner. You come here for the vibe and people watching. The food was very much average. Although the truffle pasta was decadent and had generous portions of truffle. And the lobster ditto. The foccacia was toasty outside and soft pillowy inside. Whipped ricotta was ok. I was over it after a few bites. All in all the place is what you come for. The food is ok, lacking craveable flavor or any uniqueness

Yelp

Yelp
Needed to update the review because it's as amazing as I remember. Usually popular restaurants in LA lose their touch after being open for a bit, but Alba is still great, if not better. From the Host/Management, Jordan and Cobi, to our waiter, Baird, it was perfect. My friends were so satisfied that they can't wait to go back with their husbands.

Yelp
I was truly hoping to give this place at least 4 stars, but it wouldn't be fair. 1- while the vibe and ambiance is nice, its not nearly close to the NYC Alba, the ceiling and windows were truly ruining the interior design, kinda gave me the vibe that they had to open mid-construction. 2- the service was good, however our server was too pushy, our dinner time was pretty late and im sure the didnt have anyone waiting for our table, he kept coming to clean up the dishes even-though they were more than half full. 3- the pasta was great, and so were our drinks, however the chicken taste and texture was disappointing. They also need some more salad options on their menu. 4- we were charged twice for drinks, which they fixed at the end but it was just an inconvenience and not something i'd like to deal with. I will give them another chance for sure, but i dont think its anywhere close to the hype!

Yelp
Loved this meal. Will be back! Why the 4 stars? It's really 4.5 stars. And that's just because of all the hype surrounding this place my dinner companion and I expected a touch more I guess. The service was fantastic! Our server and support were phenomenal. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful and spacious when you look around you realize you're really probably just sitting in the parking lot between two buildings that they have built a structured tent over. It's the most Hollywood thing a restaurant can do. The bread, good lord. That whipped ricotta- so good. We both thought maybe missing a honey drizzle it was so close to dessert. The farmers salad I thought was pretty average but the squash blossom were the best I've ever had! Whoa! While I liked the orecchiette my friend proclaimed it one of the best pastas she'd ever had. The steak after that, also amazing with an incredibly unique umami bomb sauce! The dessert which was the napoleon we both felt was the most disappointing. Also, I didn't like the timing of the meal. Three things came out at once the bread, the salad and the squash blossoms then we waited for a bit for the pasta and then quite some time for the steak and then the dessert flew out to us. Definitely worth a stop in. You can also park in the neighborhood south of Melrose if you get on an east west street.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our night at Alba! The margaritas were next-level -- perfectly balanced and dangerously good. The octopus was tender and packed with flavor, and the filet was cooked to perfection. Every dish was beautifully presented. Service was outstanding -- attentive, warm, and on point all night. Can't wait to come back! I was to drunk to take more pictures of Tartar and amazing desserts
