Alliance Bakery — Grand

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday, I thought it was going to be good but it wasn't, a terrible experience!!! I was unfortunately, very disappointed in how the cake came out. The frosting itself was grainy and very sugary and the back of the heart it had folds making it seem like the cake was going to collapse. On the top part where the number were placed there was a big bubble. In the photo you can hardly see it but it looked horrible. For an $180 cake I think it was too much. I contacted them and the response they gave me was that they don’t receive any complaints. They didn't believe me. I spoke to the owner, Peter , and told me that he could give me some credit but not a refund. I paid a lot for this cake and it went straight to the trash. They also put the wrong number on the cake when I went to pick it up, so I had to wait, he said it was my mistake that I said that number. There was many mistakes made and I definitely won’t be coming back or recommend this bakery!

Cute and quaint. Been many times. Plenty of parking. You can dine in. They also have an espresso machine. Great variety of baked goods. The macadamia nut bar is really good. Got the blueberry donut, key lime tart (a bit dry), almond croissant (always good) and a berry danish this time around. Customer service is great and I got a neighborhood discount cause I live a couple of blocks away. Awesome.

The CUTEST little chill bakery in west town. 😍 Adrian met me at the counter with a beautiful kind spirit! She was gentle, soft-spoken, and super stylish! This is a bright and clean environment, with delicious pastries and drinks. I purchased a custom Spongebob cake for my son's birthday, and they did not disappoint. From the time I emailed for a quote... to the time I picked my cake up, I had the perfect experience. The response and reliability are top tier! I will be back...

The cakes taste great but they are extremely overpriced for what they are. I ordered a smash cake for my son’s first birthday. The small cake costed me $135. When I picked it up I was very underwhelmed and felt like I had been taken advantage of. I have been getting cakes from the wicker park location for years and I find the prices go but the quality has gone down. I will not be returning. Below is a photo of the cake.

I feel so bad even leaving this review but honestly I felt even worse when I gifted this cake for someone’s birthday and it was terrible. So embarrassed that I had to purchase another cake. Legit only leaving this so others don’t waste their time or money. Just drive down a few blocks to Aya Pastry on grand and Ogden. That was my original plan because the execution of the cakes at Aya are phenomenal. Unfortunately, first and last time I ever purchase at Alliance. To say that we almost threw the cake away but decided to offer it to those in need considering it was $80.

My first time ordering with Alliance Bakery and I am beyond impressed satisfied and fulfilled. Thank you so much!! The talent and skill this bakery has is unbelievable. My nieces cake was absolutely beautiful and she was so happy. I could not have asked for anything better. They truly outdid them self. Thank you soooo much!! ALLIANCE IS THE BEST!!!!!!! I AM MIND BLOWN! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!! THE PEOPLE ARE SO NICE AND OVERALL SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE

Gotta love them for just the Corgi Butt Cookies. Very cute shop. The mural on the wall is beautiful. Seemed to have a little of everything. Flourless chocolate cake. It wasn't as heavy as others I've had. Corgi Butt Cookie was cute and also a really good sugar cookie. They had Macarons in various flavors. Cakes cookies and teas. Stop in if you get a chance. Great service.

The store is spacious and clean but they are disorganized, to the point that it negatively affected my entire visit. We pre-ordered and paid for paçzki ahead of time. They apparently couldn't find the order (come to find out it was under my boyfriend's very common first name, not his last name) so while we waited for them to locate his order, the barista asked if we wanted anything else. They had a great variety so we added a couple lattes and an almond croissant. After placing the order, a group of 6, a couple of whom may have been regulars, walked in front of us and proceeded to place a large order. We stood there awkwardly for around 15 minutes while our croissant just sat there on the counter and our drinks weren't made. As a longtime member of the service industry, I would have cashed out the people who had already ordered and made their drinks first, since they were there first, rather than making them wait behind a group of 6. As a result of all this waiting, my boyfriend's simple caramel latte was made wrong. Probably because the barista didn't remember what he ordered after letting 6 people barge in front of us and order 15 things. Fat Tuesday is going to be a nightmare for them if they are this disorganized on Sunday at 12:30 pm. I bumped my rating up from a two because the food and drinks were quite tasty. I wish they had offered to warm the croissant. Not sure it's worth the hassle.

Amazing first time trying an assortment of bakery items Alliance Bakery. This was also my first experience using the "TooGoodToGo" app. This was the "mystery box" that I received and I was very pleased! The chocolate croissants were delicious warmed up, I'm sure when these are fresh in the morning they are fantastic! Chocolate cupcake was just okay. I froze the other breakfast croissants for another time. The woman closing the bakery was so warm and kind! I love places that participate in this and try to eliminate in food waste, overall cute spot!

I really like the new Alliance location. It is easy to get to, park and is so convenient. They are open late also. Sometimes you just want a little something later in the day and not during traditional Bakery hours. The staff is very nice. I visited twice and received great service each time. The staff was helpful and polite, which goes a long way. My friend wanted a traditional type donut but there were none. I'm not sure if it was the time of day or if they only offer pastries etc. The cases were filled with beautiful items. We picked a s'more dessert, giant cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, plain croissant and some macarons. We surprised our family who lives nearby with a ton of goodies! The plain croissant was a little dry but everything else was fantastic. I will definitely return because of the staff, location and easy parking. I am looking forward to trying more of their beautiful treats.

Best cakes in Chicago! Check out their window displays at their new location in West Town! Nice place to stop by for coffee and pastries.

Ok familiar w the one on division but really $6.95 for a non fresh croissants!! The cake pice was ok. The cake is outstanding. I give that 4 Starr's. But the price again almost 10 $$ bucks. I wound drive out of my way.

The carrot cake I purchased was okay. Not a disaster by any stretch but frankly, it wasn't overly moist and the frosting was a little over the top and took away from some of the cake element of it. Starting at $60...located in a sorta off the beaten path location on Grand. Solid 3 out of 5.
