The 38 Best Restaurants in Milwaukee, Wisconsin | Eater

"Allie Boy’s is the New York-level bagel shop Milwaukee didn’t know it needed — and then some. Aside from breakfast sandwiches and schmears, the bright Walker’s Point corner storefront serves latkes and lox, pork rolls and parfaits, scones and fried spiced sugar bagels. If noontime noshing is more your speed, there’s matzo ball soup and house-made pickles, while the pastrami chop cheese bagel sandwich (with sport peppers, provolone, and a sultry special sauce) is shoulder-devil sinful. There may be no better — or more decadent — destination for a quick and casual first meal. Last year a second location opened on the East Side. Know before you go: The ketchup on the breakfast sandwich, somehow, just works." - Todd Lazarski

Google
Got some classic lox bagels for brunch and they were pretty good. Wish the bagels were toasted. The line was a pretty long wait so would recommend ordering beforehand and just picking up. The seating also gets full so try to go early.

Google
Wonderful little place on the southside. The bagels were excellent - packed with cream cheese! The smokey cheddar jalapeño was delicious and not too spicy. The everything bagel was covered in the seasoning, even on the bottom half. The Veg Head was also delightfully fresh. Service was quick and a nice, welcoming staff.

Google
I was on the hunt for a Bacon Egg and Cheese and was recommended to Allie Boy’s. I really enjoyed the flavors, the crunch yet soft insides of the bagel, the bacon was a nice balance of meaty and fatty (not burnt crispy, if you’re looking for that), and the sauces were nice. I’ll be back to try more bagels and schmears!

Google
Carry out with my wife was a delightful experience. The Classic Lox was incredible, and the dill truly makes it stand out. The Egg and Sausage sandwich was on fire, perfectly seasoned and satisfying. One of the highlights was the Latke Waffle. It was absolutely incredible, and I would definitely go back just for that one dish. Despite the high volume of customers, the food still came out quickly, which was impressive. The staff was very welcoming and kind, adding a personal touch to our visit. This place reminds me of the type of food you can get out in New York, and nowhere else in Milwaukee is quite like it.

Google
I have driven by here a couple times when it has been open and became curious because there was always a line. Today I stopped and waited in the line. I got the onion bagel toasted as a sandwich with whitefish. It was delicious. My friend got the classic sandwich toasted. I didn’t see the specials until after I ordered. The specials sound really great. I will definitely be back. This place is worth the line! Check it out.

Google
The bagel sandwiches were 10/10. They hit all the elements, hearty, tasty, chewy, filling, delicious. It was a bit on the $$$ side but definitely worth a splurge. My only issue is that I was charged .50¢ for a plastic bag. I get the whole bag issue but I wasn't told I would be charged at all and it was just a weird interaction. I wanted the bag to take two bagels home for the next day's breakfast and I wanted them to stay as fresh as possible. Again everything was delicious and the bathroom was clean. I had sticker shock at the prices, but I'd go back because the pumpernickel was FANTASTIC!!!

Google
Food is delicious, staff is friendly and helpful. I had the Egg& Cheese Bagel Sandwich with Bacon. Love the toasted bagel and its crunch. Egg & cheese hit just right. The bacon could be a tad crispier for me (just a little bit too soft), but still a very good flavor. Lots of spreads and other bagels and options to pick from here. Update- 12/14/23. Visited again and my wife and I had the Cheese & Sausage bagel. I added a Latke Hash Brown as well. Try the Everything Bagel - wow, lots of flavor! Grab a cup of coffee and this breakfast sandwich will keep your full all day! Great food & awesome, friendly & prompt service.

Google
Amazing Latkes waffles. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, will be back for that. Good coffee and bagel sandwiches as well.

Yelp
I thought I already wrote a review because I knew I loved them after the first time there. I hadn't been to NYC yet and my bestie took me here for lunch. She said, they are just as good, probably better than any bagel place in New York. We both got pastrami on rye bagels and holy shit was it so good. Not only do I love sandwiches but I also love bagels. And brining those two together was perfection. They have amazing toppings, great specials, and delicious cream cheeses. Since then I have ordered a few times to go. I have never eaten inside however I have been in there. Seating is limited but I think people get a lot of to goes anyways. They have two locations now, I have yet to go to the farwell location so that one could be bigger! Service is fast and friendly. And after visiting NYC this past month, I can say, for myself anyway, that Allie Boy's is better than any bagel I had in NYC. We had bagels every day and tried the hot spots and waited in long lines for bagels. Allie Boy's really knocks it out of the park. I'm taking two of the NYC girls trip tomorrow and I can't wait to see them fall in love!

Yelp
Allie Boy's has the best bagels in Milwaukee, and the bacon, egg, and cheese was the best thing my dining companion and I tried there -- the egg was tender, the cheese was gooey without feeling too processed, the helping of bacon was generous, and the bagel itself was of high quality. Make sure to get it with ketchup, salt, and pepper to heighten the experience even more. The beverage selection was solid. I went with an iced chai latte with almond milk, and it was delicious (but you can't exactly mess something like that up). My dining companion said the drip coffee was really quite good. We also tried a plain bagel with Nutella (yummy, good for kids, but nothing super special) and a cinnamon raisin bagel with peanut butter, which was not sweet at all. The peanut butter had the taste and texture of the all-natural stuff without any added sugar, which kind of threw me off. The cinnamon raisin bagel wasn't very sweet either, which I was okay with. I don't think I'd order a peanut butter schmear again, but that's because I like things on the sweeter side. If I go for the cinnamon raisin bagel in the future, I'll probably get it with cream cheese instead. Seating was limited and this did not feel like an establishment where you could linger and chat or do some work on your laptop. In fact, most of the people who came in were grabbing to-go orders. That's generally not my vibe for breakfast, but that seems to be the norm at Allie Boy's. So, in the future, I'll probably just grab my order and leave rather than stay and hang out.

Yelp
5 stars all the way. Don't be alarmed by the wait because the food will be well worth it. If you're a local there's a few ways around the wait but you'll have to figure those out. Everyone is always kind and friendly.

Yelp
Came here for the first time on a Saturday morning. Have been trying to find the best bagels in town! Place was very busy. We ordered coffees and a sesame bagel with the labneh spring herb cream cheese. Price: expensive. I paid 17 dollars for a regular coffee and a bagel.. a little disappointing. The sesame Bagel itself was tasty however the cream cheese filling is extremely thick and excessive. Honestly a waste. We ended up taking over half of it off. Also the labneh spring herb was extremely salty.. I couldn't tolerate it. I would come back if having the cream cheese on the side is an option or asking for it light. And i would hope to try another spread that isnt this salty... Also keeping in mind if i want to splurge for breakfast since it is a little pricey.

Yelp
Allie Boy's popularity speaks for itself. If you go on a weekend morning, I hope you aren't in a hurry because lines are typically out the door. Luckily, you can place an order online ahead of time, so you don't have to wait in line and then wait for your sandwich to be made, which can sometimes mean 30-40 minute waits (still worth it, but something to keep in mind). Something unique that Allie Boy's does that I love is offering a hashbrown in your bagel sandwich--to which I'd recommend always saying yes! They also always usually have a special bagel or cream cheese to choose from, such as this weekend's Hot Buttered Shrimp Toast Bagel or last weekend's Caramel Apple Swirl cream cheese. Seating is limited inside of the National location, but there's a patio out back with a few fires to sit around if it's a chilly day.

Yelp
What an amazing bagel shop! It's very cute and it has seating inside although not that big but I noticed a good amount of people order to go. They have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches and bagels with spread I had an everything bagel with plain cream cheese and it was so delicious. I will definitely trying their breakfast bagels next time. They do not have a parking lot so street parking will be your best option.

Yelp
Great stop on a Friday morning. I had a City Tin burning a hole in my pocket and have wanted to try this place for a while. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel with sausage and it was delicious. It was also plenty for 2 with the portions. Also got the pickles and they tasted fresh and homemade. Perfect vinegar kick. The iced coffee wasn't anything special but the barista made everything with care. Their everything seasoning has a little something different to their blend so recommend trying it for a new experience. The staff were friendly and doing their best to get the orders out. Probably waited about 5-10 for my sandwich and 1/2 dozen bagels to go, but again, worth it.

Yelp
Critic Rating: 3.875 Scores: - Food: 4.5 * 30% = 1.35 - Service: 3.5 * 20% = 0.70 - Value for Money: 3.5 * 20% = 0.70 - Ambiance: 3.5 * 15% = 0.525 - Uniqueness: 4.0 * 15% = 0.60 ___________________________________________ Comments: "Overrated" feels generous. While Google bestows a lofty 4.7 average rating on this bagelry, a closer look reveals a truer score of 3.875. My scoring system rarely diverges this much from consensus. Herein lies the disparity: the puzzling popularity of this establishment hinges on Instagrammable avocado bagels and, quite simply, the fact that "girls love toast." Let's dig in. The Food is undeniably tasty, scoring a solid 4.5. The Service here is adequate but marred by extended wait times and long lines. The Value here is okay, a $12 bagel (plus tip) makes breakfast almost expensive. While fair for quality, a straightforward bagel experience tilts immoderate. Meanwhile the Ambiance-- though "adorable" according to my girlfriend -- feels strategically inefficient; maximizing charm while sacrificing function. In winter, the outdoor patio (90% of the dining space) becomes irrelevant, inevitably resulting in an 'order-to-go' dining experience. Lastly, the 8 a.m. opening is a curious choice for early risers who expect breakfast with their dawn. As for Uniqueness... While monthly menu specials hint at variety, and with a range of coffee options for when my Keurig is broken, I'll concede a 4.0. In conclusion, while bagels and toast may charm, an objective look yields a more restrained evaluation. Strong within niche, weak among broader breakfast options. And, in economic downturns, an inefficient $12 to-go bagel may struggle to maintain its allure. ___________________________________________ Here's a formula that expresses the quality of a restaurant on a 1-5 scale, considering key factors. Each factor is rated from 1-5, and then weighted according to its importance. Formula: Q = wf*F + ws*S + wa*A + wv*V + wu*U Where: - Q = Overall Restaurant Quality - F = Food Quality: The taste, freshness, presentation of dish. - S = Service: How attentive, friendly, & informed the staff is. - A = Ambiance: Atmosphere, cleanliness, decor, and feel. - V = Value for Money: Balance of price, quantity, & quality. - U = Uniqueness: Novelty of concept, menu, & experience. Weights (w): - wf = Weight of Food Quality (30%) - ws = Weight of Service (20%) - wv = Weight of Value for Money (20%) - wa = Weight of Ambiance (15%) - wu = Weight of Uniqueness (15%)

Yelp
You know a place is good when the line is out the door. Went on a Sunday morning and did have to wait around 30 minutes before getting our food but I now know you can order ahead! Bagels were phenomenal, my friend and I got the bacon egg and cheese and the sausage egg and cheese with the added hasbrown on both. Everything bagel was very flavorful and crispy too. Their bagel of the day was blueberry and I would definitely come back for one of those.

Yelp
YUM! The bagel is so fresh and fluffy, making for an excellent breakfast sandwich! I opted for everything bagel and sausage, while my husband had the plain and bacon (add latke hash brown). Both were excellent, I would say if you choose to add the latke prepare to be FULL. Would highly recommend to anyone who love quality bagels. Sat on the patio which was super enjoyable on a nice MKE morning.

Yelp
Best lox and bagels west of the Mississippi. I know, but New York is east of the Mississippi.

Yelp
As a Milwaukeen I feel embarrassed to admit it took me this long to try Allie boys. I've known for years it's the best bagel shop in Milwaukee and it took me this long to make it over there. And let me tell you, this place is absolutely worth the hype. To start off, the space is super cute and inviting. It's good to know they don't have a huge menu, and they don't have super long hours, but don't let that deter you. I took this sandwich to go and probably didn't get to it until 30 minutes after I had picked it up and it was still hot and fresh when I took my first bite. The bagel was perfectly cooked, the omelet was light and fluffy and thick at the same time, and there was a good amount of bacon where I didn't feel cheated. Honestly what a beautiful combination. Can't wait to be a repeat customer.

Beca M.

Yelp
The wait was a little long but worth it! We sat outside and it was a fun atmosphere especially with good weather. We loved the fun seasonal flavors. The bagels were delicious and fluffy! Both our sandwiches were very good. They did not feel super filling compared to other breakfast sandwiches. The coffee was good as well and they have a good alcohol selection as well! Can't wait to return and will make this a regular place for us!

Yelp
Allie Boy was good. Not great, but good. I mean, I've had better bagels, better bagel sandwiches and better wait times. I've also had worse. We came here on a Sunday about lunch time and stood in line, outside, for more than 40 minutes. Sure, we could have gone elsewhere so the wait is also a bit on us. But if you're gonna go, pick a better, less busy time. The bagels are authentic, not just bread in the shape of a bagel. But really nothing to write home about. The bagel sandwiches are the same, good but not amazing. Several nice options for them, and a nice portion. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and it was definitely not their fault for the wait. The inside dining area is small-ish but they have an outside dining area as well. We got the food to go. I liked the place, I liked the food, I loved the staff. And I would absolutely go again at a less busy time.

Yelp
You can have yourself an unusually tasty bagel at this shop, but you'll probably need to take it to go. The bagels are really solid, nice and chewy, and they have a wide variety of flavors. They even carry bialys from time to time. If you are a lover of bagels, I would suggest just getting bagels, because the sandwiches are not particularly special. If you are going to sit down and eat, you should beware that there are only about six or seven tables, and they are often full. At least on the weekends. So you might wait for a while. Service is not particularly fast, so ordering online ahead of time is smart if you are in a hurry. Otherwise you will likely wait in line, and when you finally get your order, it'll be another 15 to 20 minute wait. I wouldn't recommend their lox, As I found it to be under flavored. But their pastrami bagel is a really fun treat. I would definitely go back, and probably get a half dozen bagels. Very reasonable price, and really good bagels
google avatar

Mandy S.

Yelp
This place really does have some of the best bagels in MKE! You can't go wrong with a bagel with their labneh smear! Their sandwiches are all amazing too - especially the classic lox! It is a tiny place so don't expect to get a seat, dine in is hard for this reason. It's also always super busy - for good reason! Because of this your order typically takes a little while to get ready. The customer service is never above and beyond, but like I said, the product is!
google avatar

Ankita S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite breakfast places in the city, especially if I don't want a big brunch. They have a very seasonal menu that changes every few months - you can find updated menus on their website. You can order online or at the shop, but be prepared for a long wait in a crowded space. The place is usually packed with very limited seating, which is first come first serve. There is also patio seating during nice weather. Their bagel sandwiches are delicious and super filling! My current favorite is the egg and cheese and I usually add a latke to it. We've also gotten the latke waffle before which is cooked to crispy perfection. I feel like it's a little low in salt, but I eat it with sour cream, applesauce, and Cholula, which they have in little packets. The one thing I would love to try on their menu is The Count, but they don't have a veggie option instead of the meat - otherwise the sweet and savory sounds right up my alley!
google avatar

RR T.

Yelp
Not too far away from downtime MKE. Small corner place. Great service. Had an everything bagel with labneh- nice chewy toasted bagel, sufficient cheese schmear. It was a little too salty but it's always hit or miss with the everything bagel, I say. $6.50 for the bagel? Yeesh. That's a lot for a single bagel. The chai latte was a nice accompaniment. Still. Great experience. May come down if in area. We should support our small businesses!!!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Totally awesome bagel spot with a whole bunch of other fun looking and tasty noshes! We had the everything bagel (delicious) and the latke pancakes (basically the tastiest hash brown you'll ever have). The patio out back is also a great place to sit and enjoy. Pro tip--sometimes a big line so order ahead at peak times!
google avatar

Abby M.

Yelp
Took the considerations of other reviews and ordered ahead this morning at 7:50 before Allie Boy's opened and I was already order #26, so this is clearly a highly sought after spot! I absolutely loved my sandwich; it was flavorful, warm, and filling. I can't wait to come back again and try the other sandwiches!
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Allie Boy's since they opened, finally getting to it! I am a little surprised that they don't open earlier, to catch some people on their commute, I think I would've stopped sooner if they did. Tucked away near the Harbor District is this great bagel shop, we stopped by on a Saturday morning. It was decently busy but we were able to order right away. We had to try the bagels and a bakery item of course! There were so many other delicious sounding options, cant wait to try more! We ordered the classic egg and cheese with sausage pastrami chop cheese yuzu scone Ordering the bagel sandwiches takes a little bit longer than just your standard bagel and schmear, but still was ready pretty quick. Everything was so good, a nice thick egg on the egg and cheese and perfectly crunchy shell bagels. We will definitely be returning for more! With how busy they can be, I suggest ordering ahead so its ready when you get there. There are options for indoor and outdoor dining and hanging out as well as many drink choices to enjoy with your food.
google avatar

William R.

Yelp
I have been here a couple times now and it has been absolutely wonderful. The food, the service and the ambiance is exactly what you would expect. They do get busy during expected times so be prepared for that, otherwise, do not hesitate to get there for breakfast or lunch.

Jackson E.

Yelp
Good quality bagels and unique options for everyone, albeit a little overpriced though that's coming from a biased northeasterner. Be prepared for a long wait whether you go in person or order online. One strange note - I wanted an everything bagel instead of plain on my SEC, no option to change bagel type when ordering online. I called and asked if this was right, they said it was and if I were to place the order, to call back asap and give them the order number so they could find the ticket and write in the request, ok fine. I asked the woman if I could just order over the phone- "Nope! we're too busy." Uhhhh, somewhat off-putting. I feel like it would take more time to go through all the order numbers and find mine to make the change vs just taking 15 seconds to take an order over the phone, though that's just me! If you're reading this Allie Boy, I'd look into adding what should be a standard customization option to your online ordering system.
google avatar

Chloe C.

Yelp
Cannot say enough good things about Allie Boy's! Great for ordering pickup or eating there (they have limited seating inside but a nice patio too) It does get super busy, but don't let the line deter you! It moves quickly. If you order ahead, you'll have to awkwardly squeeze past the line to get to the counter inside but it's worth it. The sandwiches may look huge but they are manageable and perfectly filling. Pro tip - add the latke to your egg and cheese sandwich. Their sugar bagels are also better than any donut. If you have someone to share with, I recommend splitting a sugar bagel and a savory sandwich. Best of both worlds. They're always updating the menu with seasonal options and fun specials. Even the yogurt parfaits are unique and delicious. And they do fantastic coffee specials too! To sum it up, everything they do they do REALLY well. Go now if you haven't yet. If you have, this is your reminder to go again.

Yelp
Allie Boy's has some of the best bagels I've ever had. The everything bagel is loaded with seeds and the roasted shallot cream cheese has the perfect sweet-savory flavor to top it off. They are generous with the cream cheese, as well. Counter service is friendly and efficient and the dining room and bathroom are always clean. Next time we will check out the lovely patio.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
This place has everything, delicious food, great service and just a great vibe of a restaurant. I just moved from Milwaukee, but will be driving downtown to go here often. That's how good it is.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
I had high hopes for Allie Boys. I do think it is good, but not great. I love that they make their bagels and cream cheese fresh. The everything bagel is overly salty, and I wish they had additional options for sandwiches. The ones on the menu are good but not great: the chopped cheese sandwich has soggy vegetables which aren't appealing. The lox sandwich is better if you like salmon. In general, everything they sell here is pretty expensive. There is often a line, but it moves decently quickly. There are a few tables to eat inside, but not a ton of inside space. I would consider coming here if you are specifically craving a chewy bagel, but honestly it is nothing I will continue to think about after eating there.
google avatar

Liam B.

Yelp
The food is bomb, probably best bagels you'll find in Milwaukee. Cool atmosphere, especially for a bagel place and a nice staff. Only negatives are long wait times for orders and it seems to be closed half of the week, although I can't really fault them much for success. The coffee is not my favorite either but still good. Still, it seems like orders take unusually long, probably more of a system thing than people. Anyways check it out!
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
After reading the reviews and hearing about other peoples experience, I was super excited for some classic New York style deli bagels. However, for all the hype the bagels and sandwiches left me disappointed. We shared four sandwiches and they all came up short on quality, flavor and presentation. I won't be back.
google avatar

Phil G.

Yelp
Went back to Allie Boys for take out to try their bagels again. They are large and puffy, not very reminiscent of the bagels I grew up with in NYC. They also lack flavor. I'm used to a classic bagel from the Lower East Side, Lefferts Avenue, Riverdale, and Coney Island. These are Milwaukee bagels, larger than most and touted by social media. If you haven't tasted an authentic bagel these probably are good enough. I miss a real bagel. Maybe it's the water. We need the Croton Reservoir in Milwaukee County just for bagels and pizza.

Yelp
If you are a bagel connoisseur, then you should check out Alli Boy's Bagelty. It is easily my favorite part of my Sunday morning!! Their pumpknickle bagel is my go to. It pairs with all of their different schmear options and is a simple classic! If you want to try one of their breakfast sandwiches, I reccomend the veg head on an everything bagel! You will not be disappointed. The service is also good and the line moves quickly. Added bonus: they sell little bagel treats for dogs!
google avatar

Molly D.

Yelp
You can always find me at Allie boys on the weekend! My friends and I were in dire need of a bagel fix and they always do the trick! I stick with my everything bagel with salmon sesame cream cheese and let me just say- it's a killer order. My friends got the sesame bagel with labneh and spring herb cream cheese and they loved it! I will say that sometimes they pack on too much cream cheese but that is up for debate... I can't complain! We got our bagels to go because it was crowded on a Saturday morning. I do wish they had a little more seating available but nonetheless- still a cute little spot. Definitely need more bagelrys in Milwaukee!
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
Tl:dr the best breakfast sandwiches around and they aren't shabby for lunch, either I cannot believe I haven't written this review yet! The speed, customer service and quality of food at Allie Boy's is off the charts and when you're looking and craving a good bagel ... there's no other place to be! So many amazing flavor combinations, of course you could get just a bunch of soft bagels and they have like, a million types of schmear, but the sandwiches are where it's at. I've always been a big fan of the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich - the bagels are so soft and you can go with bacon or a breakfast sausage. This sandwich puts any McDonald's item TO SHAME and ruins all other quick pickup breakfast sandwiches for you (but in the best way.) Do yourself a favor and head to Allie Boys for a coffee and bagel sandwich that will not disappoint. They've got other menu items like latke waffles, muffins and scones. Those are good, but bagels are where this place shines!
google avatar

Puja B.

Yelp
always a long line, but always worth it. The seasonal flavors are always so good! The homemade butters and cream cheeses are awesome! The bagels aren't quite New York style, but pretty damn close for Milwaukee! The coffee is pretty good as well. definitely try it out if you're in the area!!
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
There's a reason the wait is sometimes super long...it's worth it. Do yourself a favor and queue up in line. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Finally got to try Allie Boys after hearing all the great things about it! I got the everything bagel with veggie schmear. The bagel was salty and covered in topping and the spread was stuffed with veggies. Overall it was delicious but a bit pricey as a $7 bagel with spread. The line was out the door as expected, but it moved quite slowly. Service was quick once we ordered though. Overall solid spot and a cute patio!

Yelp
I'm new to town and was on the hunt for a bagel spot, so was thrilled to find Allie Boy's. There was a line pre-opening, which spelled good things to me, and the good experience continued. Service was very friendly and very quick, considering the line too. I opted for a classic Breakfast Sandwich and loved the addition of ketchup (personal preference), as well as an Everything Bagel with Roasted Shallot Cream Cheese. Super yummy, great flavors, and great texture. I only wish it was open everyday!

Yelp
Yummy! Came for breakfast while we were visiting family and my husband had been lusting after their Instagram for months. We will definitely be visiting every time we are in town. We both got the egg sandwiches. I modified quite a bit and they didn't even bat an eye. Appreciate that if you get the no meat version they double the egg. As I decided to forgo American cheese it appeared they also doubled the cheddar - thanks guys! I was more than stuffed after half! The everything bagel was so flavorful. Husband went for a plain bagel with sausage and zero modifications. I stole a bite and - though I was skeptical of the ketchup - understood it's place on balancing the sandwich it really added a nice dimension. We got the bagel special (mole) and a 4oz cream cheese to go. Can't wait to come back! Other things to note. TONS of to go orders that people placed online but didn't have to wait long at all despite that. Limited seating but a nice atmosphere. They do serve alcohol if you want a boozy brunch or lunch. Coffee is fantastic. The atmosphere is nice and bright. We got a scone to go as well which was good but not the fave. Solid experience all around.

Yelp
There is definitely a reason that Allie Boys always has a line - their food is great! The space is a little smaller so I opted for to-go, but it's very aesthetic in there and the service is great! I would definitely take a look at the menu before because it's always changing and they often add news things. The bagel sandwiches are tasty and filling and I will definitely be back to try more menu items!

Yelp
Great bagels but lousy service. We went to grab bagels this morning and the line was probably an hour long. They only had one cash register open. We left.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Allie Boy's Bagelry for a long time, but they open too late during the week for me to stop before work and I'm usually not in the Third Ward/Walker's Point area in the morning on the weekend. I finally made it a priority to stop in on a Sunday morning where I had nothing to do. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich without ketchup, adding bacon to it, on a honey wheat bagel. The first half of the sandwich seemed to contain most of the bacon because that was clearly the dominant flavor. It was good quality bacon, so that part wasn't bad, but I was disappointed that I couldn't taste the herbed egg patty and the bagel very well. When I could taste the herbed egg patty and bagel on the second half, I liked the egg and wished I could have tasted it more on the first half, but I thought the bagel was still weak on flavor compared to similar bagels I've had elsewhere. For what it was I liked the sandwich, but $11.50 before tax (as of 8/14/2022) is too steep for me to have it again considering I didn't love it. The line for ordering was consistently out the door the entire time I was there, so they obviously appeal more to other people than me, and that's fine.

Yelp
It seems wrong to be writing about anything but bagels at this place, since they are the star of the show here, but here goes nothin... For Father's Day, we swung by Allie Boy's to grab some nosh to bring on a picnic. Great idea by us because they don't disappoint! My dad got the brekky burg bagel sammie, which had brisket and bacon jam. He raved about it. Mom liked her egg sandwich with bacon, and hubby absolutely demolished his pastrami chop cheese (a current special). I'm currently off gluten (go ahead, roll your eyes, I know)... so I perused their menu hoping there was something besides a bagel I could enjoy, and there sure was! Introducing Louis the Shrimp: a tasty mix of spring peas, smoked shrimp, herbs, avocado, radishes, and some delicious ravigote sauce. A bowl of that came served with bibb lettuce cups and a crackers. Truly so yummy! The perfect choice. I would undoubtedly order it again. We were sure to order online ahead of time, which I highly recommend. Even doing that, we still had a fair bit of wait time upon arrival. There's a good reason this place is so busy!

Yelp
Great location right in the walkers point area! East national just past 1st street! The food is so amazing and fresh! You can easily order ahead as they have amazing counter space to take care of their customers! While I was waiting for my order one of the workers behind the counter went around in back and came out with fresh everything bagels! I waiting a little bit just was expected as they were so busy with so many people coming in and out getting what they ordered!! And by the flavor I can see why they were so busy! They inside had some seating but was just enough as most orders were to go!! It was a quaint little place with a great inside friendly atmosphere!

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good bagel sandwich? I got the bench head and it was really good! Had a nice amount of toppings in it and the cream cheese was delicious. The bagel is great too! Wish there were a few more options to choose from, especially for vegetarians, but I thought it was a great meal and would like to go back to try some more of the bagels and their coffee!

Yelp
Best place in milwaukee for breakfast sandwiches! That egg sausage and cheese sandwich is amazing on any homemade bagel you want! Must try! A little pricey but for best you gotta pay for it! Bye bye birdie is another great option for a lunch sandwich! Highly recommend! Incredible! One recommendation for the restaurant would be get rid of ketchup as side for egg sausage cheese sandwich and make a pesto or sriracha mayo sauce instead! Expect to wait 15-20 mins for sandwich but worth it!

Yelp
We absolutely love Allie Boy's. Everything we have tried has been delicious! Easily the best bagels in Milwaukee. Our go-to sandwich has been the Reubeneski on the pumpernickel bagel - absolutely phenomenal. The Curryworst Pretzel Dog and The Classic with house cured lox are also amazing. Recently we tried the lobster roll special and it was amazing as well - so unique with the herb-y sauce for the lobster. We always grab an extra bagel for later - the fig and Heirloom tomato bagels were two unique and delicious favorites! We have only tried the coffee for drinks and it is very nice. You really can't go wrong. The interior has some cute small table seating, there is an outdoor patio, and they have an excellent order online and pick up system in place. Always good customer service as well! Do yourself a favor and go if you haven't already.

Yelp
Awesome bagels! Not to fluffy, not too dense. Great variety of bagels and schmears - I found the labneh and herb to be interesting and delicious. I loved the amount of seasoning and different toppings on the everything bagel too. The egg cheese and bacon bagel is exactly what I would want in that sandwich. Thick cut bacon but not too greasy and the recommendation with ketchup was a nice touch. I did order an iced latte and cold brew from here and would pass on those - not the best. Cold brew was seemed very concentrated and the latte was not strong enough (too milky?). Absolutely happy with the food though!
