"Philadelphiahasfamous local restaurateur Stephen Starr and chef Douglas Rodriguez to thank for Alma de Cuba, a dark and atmospheric multilevel restaurant serving inventive Latin-fusion cuisine. The lounge of this beloved Philly spot offers a great tapas menu and awell-curated craft-cocktail list (starringthe best mojitos this side of Cuba), which make its weekdayhappy hour one of the city's favorites. The kitchen is known for its lechón asado (roast pork) , as well as creative riffs on ceviches and variations on guacamole, including a divine one spiked with smoked hazelnut."

Alma De Cuba Review - Rittenhouse - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a place to start a night out, Alma de Cuba on Walnut is a good choice. Try to get one of the cushy booths, and order a few ceviches. Or if you want something more substantial, get the skirt steak with black beans and tomato escabeche. They’ve also got a popular Happy Hour, complete with jazzy music and mojitos. And for the full trifecta, head across the street to Ashton Cigar Bar after dinner. photo credit: Neal Santos" - Jordan Price

Love this place- especially for happy hour! Their appetizers are delicious, filling, and super inexpensive during HH and their drinks are delicious! Definitely try the fried yucca and the flavored mojitos (frozen guava was my fave).

I stopped by here to get something to eat before heading out to a party. It was my first time here and didn't know what to expect. But let me tell you how surprised I was! The inside of this place is so beautiful. It's a little dark, but not to the point that you can't see lol. It actually added to the beauty of the restaurant. Our server was awesome! He recommended some of their restaurant's best sellers, which we decided to try and they were amazing! I can't remember the name of the dish I ordered, but it was so good! The meat was slightly charred on the outside, but soft and tender in the middle. It was perfect! Would definitely recommend and I definitely will be going back!

We had a lovely evening at Alma de Cuba. It was a Tuesday night and we started with happy hour. Drinks were strong for the $6 pricetag. We both preferred the passion fruit mojito to the regular. The empanadas were hot and had excellent flavor. Definitely a great happy hour deal. Next we went upstairs and ordered our entrees. We were brought pan de Bono, little cheesy bread bites, which may have been the best things all night. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. We had no complaints at all about the food or service. The only thing that could have been improved upon was the seating. The seats where very far apart from one another and while it wasn't loud it did make conversation a bit awkward. Overall if your looking for a $100 dinner with drinks, this is a good contender.

Amazing food!! Like so very flavorful. We had the lechón and the vaca frita as well as flan. And man we were taken on a journey to heaven with the food. Not only that, but the food was a great portion. The mojitos were also so very delicious!! My husband and I have been to Havana multiple times and this place was not only authentic but the food was also so memorable. The service was amazing, we sat at the bar and our bartender was very attentive. Definitely planning to come back again and again.

Came here once for my birthday last year & the food was so good me & my boyfriend have been talking about it ever since. Very authentic cuban atmosphere filled with pictures & romantic lighting. I ordered seafood paella & my boyfriend got a whole fish. A must try if in the city!

Love this place for the atmosphere, comfortable sitting, and tasty cuisine. In addition, their happy hours are from 5 to 7 pm every weekday with amazing sangrias, mojitos and marlin tacos.

Great food and great experience....we visited on center city Philadelphia restaurant week. they are offering 35$/person for 3 course meal .. Appetizer-entree-dessert. habe posted pic for food drinks and dessert. customer service was great but they were little quick...wwas understandable as it's restaurant week. For Cuban food they have taste very authentic and ambience is good but little crowded .... overall it's a place worth visiting.

I really love the ambience of this place - it has a real old Cuban vibe. For my main I ordered the Vaca Frita, which was good and very filling. I had a classic mojito to drink, and it was mostly rum based. It was strong and not too sweet. My only complaint is the slowness of the service on a Friday evening, my group constantly had to look for our server.
