This place has such a great vibe, bar tenders were awesome, they had a live band on Sun afternoon. Multiple screens to watch games, ping pong table in the back. Different areas to sit, stand walk around. Nachos were ok. Hence the 3stars. Drinks were great. Highly recommend. Great atmosphere!

I had an amazing experience at American Junkie while visiting from Canada! From the atmosphere to the service, everything was top-notch. My server and bartender, Elle, was not only kind and professional, but she also crafted one of the best mezcal beverages I’ve ever had. It was truly out of this world—unlike anything I’ve tasted before! Elle’s attention to detail and knowledge of cocktails really made the experience special. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great drinks and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back!

First time to Hermosa beach and this restaurant. An amazing place. We opted for outdoor seating and we went for dinner. Food was wonderful. Potato tarts were crispy. Veggie Pizza was awesome and very tasty. Mango Jalapeño Margarita was wonderful. Food was fresh and clean. Lot of Vegetarian options which made it a perfect evening. Service was excellent. Special shout out to Tiffany. Was very kind and patient in taking our orders, serving and constant follow-up to check if we doing good. The attitude and tone of service is highly appreciable. There was dance floor with music in the back and it was a treat. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Hermosa beach.

Food was all mid. $0.75 wing deal is for boneless wings only. Boneless wings were served room temp. Sauces were decent, but not thick enough, so the boneless wings were drowned in sauce that wasnt sticking to the chicken. Also had a pizza and mozzarella sticks...which were both mid. Service was fine, but my drink order was completely skipped and then they didn't have the frozen margaritas ready. Also no one ever came by to turn on heater after we asked multiple times. Vibes were fine but other places near by had fire in the tables and love music, so by comparison it was clearly lower tier on vibes. Wouldn't come back if I'm ever around Hermosa Beach again.

American Junkie in Hermosa Beach is a must-visit spot for a casual cocktail, lunch or dinner. We stopped by during a beach bike ride and it was the perfect pit stop. This place has great views from their outdoor patio seating. We enjoyed a beer & spicy margarita in the sunshine, with a nice breeze, and lots of people watching. We shared some buffalo wings, which had just the right amount of spice and crunch + the classic cheeseburger which was juicy and cooked to perfection The service was friendly, prompt, and our server was very attentive. The prices are also reasonable given the great views and tasty food. Whether you're strolling the strand, cycling around Hermosa, or just looking for a solid casual dining experience, American Junkie is a great spot!

It's a great place with a nice ambiance The staff is super friendly and the food is actually really good. Great happy hour prices, drinks and food and most importantly right on the pier. Service is awesome and that's what we are all looking for. Oh yeah they make a killer old fashioned and it's on the happy hour menu. Rebecca was the best the greatest in the place. Ask for her. Still a great place to have a drink and food.

This is a fun place! The drinks are super tasty, super friendly wait staff, and the best chicken tenders and chicken wings I have had in a long time. Both the tenders and wings are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The live music is a nice touch. There is also a ping pong ball table. Definitely would recommend this place for a quick bite!

Our server Kristine was a sweetheart and her coworker Rafael was so awesome! Great people! And the food was even better! Got shrimp tacos, wings (Buffalo and honey jalapeño), a burger and fries. We enjoyed and ate all of it! Definitely would eat here again and recommend this place to anyone in the area.

2nd and final stop for Hubber's sister and BIL's SoCal day trip. And honestly, I felt like I had enough food and drinks at the first spot we went to (I'm DD, so gotta exert some self control) that I may just have a bite or two of snacks my party would order. Hubbers was recently here with Big Bro and Cuzzo and had a great time which is why he recommended we make a stop. And like them, we also had a great time! The rest of my party got cocktails and wings. I opted for water (again: ME = DD.) Wings came out piping hot - made to order is always yay! Not a fan of jalapeño so I have the salt/pepper kind. It sounds simple, but it's that simplicity that blew me away. There must be something else on here that made it exceptionally full of flavor, but no; it really is JUST mainly salt and pepper! Who was I kidding... I had at least 2-3 (prolly more) of those! And here I thought I was too full! FOOD: 5. I only had salt and pepper wings and they were PERFECT! SERVICE: 4. Our servers were amazing! They came through and checked on us often, cleaned up and did refills as needed, really friendly, and service with a smile, now that's always a plus. VALUE: 3. Fair most especially for this area. PARKING: Streets, lots and structures - all metered. Rates aren't bad for Hermosa Beach! (Around $2/hr.) OVERALL: 4. TIP: They have a Photo Booth at the back. No better souvenir than this! Sooo coming back - if only for the wings. And then some. Great first run!

We always have so much fun at American Junkie. The vibe is fun, the service is excellent and location is awesome! Lestie the bartender is great! She's always so cheerful and friendly, and quick! I had the buffalo wings and pretzel and they did not disappoint! Definitely our favorite spot to watch football on Sundays!

Came here for the Chargers game. First time going! And we had a very good time. Drinks were on point! Staff, was really great too. There's parking, in the back! Definitely going back!

This place is always an amazing lit vibe. Great to come here on a date, hang with friends, or need TVs to watch sports. Plus their drinks here are really good and reasonably priced too. This spot alone make it worth the trip to the South Bay

Great spot by the beach. Wait wasn't long on a Saturday evening. Food was fine had many options on the menu. Pizza was a bit too greasy for my kids liking but they did enjoy the mozzarella sticks. Fish tacos didn't taste as fresh as I liked but the flavors were good. Outside seating was nice given the location.

Seat yourself Good selection of music Tater tots are ELITE I had the HONEY JALAPEÑO CHICKEN SANDWICH and the flavor was there. The only downfall was that my chicken was a little overcooked, it was kinda tough to get a good clean bite. Our waiter wasn't that attentive. I'm thinking he was covering the whole outside, so it's not really his fault.

The food was great. Service was awesome and Ambiance was clean and nice. The waitress was funny but serious.

For a beachy bar, this spot is perfect for grabbing some drinks and playing some ping pong. The venue is nice and clean, well lit and spacious. We ordered the Junkie Cup, which are their redbull mixed drinks, that come in a large tropy cup and were surprisely good! I highly recommend, not too sweet, and very large for the price. Our server was funny and nice, and she provided great vibes for an enjoyable experience.

This is one of many good restaurants at the Hermosa Beach Pier. The buffalo wings were really good; soft and delicious. I usually don't eat all at one time because I try and do light lunch but these were so good I ate them all. I also ordered "Not So Old Fashioned " very well made. Would had another but needed to go. The restaurant is a causal sports bar vibe and looks like there is a place for a band in the back. The bartender was serving by herself so she was a little busy, but she tried hard to get to everyone as quickly as possible.

I'd popped into American Junkie with a group of friends for a bite to eat and a game to watch in the early evening. This spot was POPPIN' and nearly every table was full! We were able to find a spot and get to ordering. The folks serving us were prompt, kind, and on top of everything. We had drinks come out to our table shortly after ordering and our wait for our meals was quite short; it felt like a less than 15 minute wait! I went with the happy hour individual pizza special with just cheese. For only $9, this was such a bargain and was quite delicious! For folks who want a zing of flavor, I highly recommend asking for hot sauce (or even ranch) on the side. Overall, American Junkie was a great spot to grab a quick bite and an even better spot to catch the latest sports game that's playing. There's a plethora of TVs and screens for you to watch and support your favorite team!

Came down for the Fiesta Hermosa Beach.. decided to stop in for a bite to eat. Started with a Mango Cart beer ( my favorite) and some nachos. Then had their chicken tenders and fries. My husband had the grilled jalapeño chicken sandwich. He said it was tasty. They are located super close to the pier. Service was a bit slow but I chock that up to Memorial Day and the fiesta going on. The food was tasty and the beer cold.

Went on Wednesday during $0.75 boneless wing day and it did not disappoint! The service was also great, our waiter was very attentive and always checked on us. Additionally the place has indoor and outdoor seating which was nice in case you wanted to sit outside and enjoy the beach vibes. Would recommend!

Stopped on for brunch during my ride at the beach. Service was great , got seated right away. Ordered breakfast burrito and chicken Cesar salad. Food was served hot and fast. Big portions, tasted real good. I would order either of them again. Great view of the strand, also lots pf tvs and cool bar scene. Ill stop in here again for sure...

I come every Tuesday and Elle always is there as my bartender and server. She knows exactly what I drink and always has it ready and plus it's Taco Tuesday!!! She always greets me with a smile and makes sure to check back in, making sure everything tastes great! Make sure you check out American Junkie for ACYE tacos! And get Elle!

Elle was absolutely great tonight. I went to watch the Dodgers play and sat at the bar. She was very engaged and took great care of me for taco tuesday. I started coming for taco Tuesday but I keep coming back for her rum and cokes. Make sure you see Elle!!!

Fun place to watch sports! Lots of TVs. Lots of beer and other drinks. Reserve tables for big games.

Great vibes walking in the place. I sat down at my table and my waiters name was Brooke. She was FABULOUS! Quick with bringing me delicious drinks from her selection. I had 3 different drinks and loaded tots that were FIRE! I highly recommend this place for the food, service and esthetic!

American junkie Trendy pier bar. During the day they offer food specials. We came in but decided that the special (which requires purchase of a drink) wasn't as good a deal for two as a 14" pizza. The margarita pizza was really just a typical "New York " style with tomato slices added to it. It's fine , but not really a margarita. Then again, it's a beach bar so what do you expect ? Plenty of people watching available and , for a lunch, a relative bargain compared to many of the other adjacent spots The food is meh. The ambiance is vegas hipster bar, but you're on the pier with reasonable prices and a stereotypical pizza.

I often to Junkies after volleyball nights and I have to say its a hit or miss. The food and deals they offer is really solid to be honest. On Tues they have an all you can eat taco deal, and on Wed they have 75cent boneless wings with a drink. However the food is pretty mid. It's not amazing by any means but it'll get the job done. Also the services can be pretty slow, unattentively, and they may forget about you at times. Understandable as its a seat yourself kind of establishment. At the very least thought its a great place to hang out as you're right next to the beach and lots of space.

Not thrilled about the updated happy hour menu.. no draft beers on it, Old Fashioned also gone, not sure what triggered that. Not happy. Used to be our go-to place for Friday.

I've been there several times and it's true that Elle is great! She gets five stars. Unfortunately not all the bartenders are as good as she is. Tonight's service was very poor. So we left. Not coming back.

Great energy at this bar. Perfect for a beachside establishment. The music selection, vibes and aesthetic make this place a must visit on the boardwalk. The bartender Brooke is the best. Has great indoor and outdoor seating. We went around 6pm and were asked if we were 21+. The burger was cooked to where we liked it and the fries were good.

If I could give negative stars I WOULD! Me and my BLACK friends felt racially profiled last night. I'm not sure of the bartenders name and all I could mange to get was a picture of her big whale of a back. She wouldn't not serve me and my friends because she felt we were "intoxicated". Never have me been intoxicated in public for 1. 2 I was speaking very well, I simply asked her about a card 2 women from the establishment were passing out regarding drinks. She leaves the bar to go to the front and talk to her manager. As she's doing so we watch her. Mean time a fight had broke out in the bar and another customer was harassing the other bartender and those people were still able to be served. Meanwhile she comes back to us to tell us we can only have water. So I proceed to talk to the manager who was not even inside when we came and he's giving run around answers. I proceed to tell him I felt as though it was something racist going on and he says their not racist because they aren't "white". First off, you don't have to be white to still discriminate against someone. I can assure you I WILL NEVER come back there or recommend this bar to anyone after my experience yesterday.

Awful service and even worse food and drink! My friends and I came for a quick meal. Not only were the workers rude but the food was awful and the drinks tased terrible. Would never recommend and would not return.

Came to watch Lakers playoff game & almost left for several reasons. Positives: + Lots of screens all over + No cover charge + service was pleasant and quick Negatives: - WTF with the sound system? We were against the west wall in a booth parallel to the bar. Some sort of crazy subwoofer going on - like it was left in "nightclub mode" from the previous eve. Set off my Apple watch hearing protection alert! - Terrible pizza. The crust was okay but the cheese was skimpy and, worse, tasty plastic-y. Only 8 tomato slices on our whole margarita pie?! The vibe was very bro-y with lots of trucker hats and early 00's fashion. Would rather go to another spot on the Pier next time I'm up for a sports bar experience. TL/dr: Awfully not good, awfully loud.

We found metered parking at Hermosa at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, 5/27/24. We walked down Pier Avenue to American Junkie. The sign said to seat yourself and we found a nice outdoor table. Our server, Jessica came to wait on us and we ordered drinks first and a little while later we ordered our meal. Our drinks arrived at a bit before 4 p.m. An hour after being seated, I complained to the manager in the white and blue check shirt that our table and the table next to us had been waiting an hour for our food. He said they were really busy and it would be another 20 minutes before our food would be served. I said to him that's unacceptable and we needed to be comped. Then he said there's nothing he could do. I responded if that's the case, then he needed to tell people it will be an hour before their food is served, to manage their expectations, and that it's not okay to just make us wait without anything being comped. He offered to get us a round of drinks. When drinks were served just to my husband and myself and not our friend at the next table, I went up to him and he said he wasn't going to do anything for our friend but he was making sure our order was served. Upon returning to the table, our friend, who was previously in the band Stray Cats and Talking Heads, I told him what was shared with me and after having a conversation with the manager, the same story was repeated and he was left with no comped drink or comped meal. Our appetizer arrived at 4:53. My husband's bowl arrived at 4:56. My order with the incorrect side dish arrived at 5:03. My tater tots arrived at 5:08. After dinner, I sought out the manager who was a different manager due to a change in shifts. I spoke to the dinner manager and reiterated the importance of communicating to the customers that it would be an hour to receive their food. He again repeated what the afternoon manager said, that it was a holiday weekend, that they were busy, that they told their host (nonexistent since it was self seating) and the servers to communicate the delay to the customers. I once again said that didn't happen which is the reason why I am coming out of Yelp Elite retirement to share this with all who want to read the truth and either ask the manager, not the nonexistent host, and to make sure to get a photo of the manager's face and name tag for accountability and also your server to know exactly how long the food will take to be served and to screenshot the time of arrival and order vs arrival of food and report to Yelp and any other restaurant review sites. Also, we asked for a to go box for the incorrect fries and the tater tots and no box arrived. For obvious reasons, we will never eat here again and encourage others to follow suit. If you can't have transparency from a restaurant, there's no need to give them your hard earned money. It's not Michelin starred quality food and Hermosa has far better restaurants with much better service who will actually serve you decent food in a timely manner.

This has been the best World experience of my life. Everyone from the manager Art to their bartenders Brooke and Sophia were the best. They knew what we wanted before we even knew. My friend group and I came every game of the playoffs and felt so seen. Their food and drinks were always on point and their costumer service was always amazing. I will always come back to this bar because I know I will enjoy my time. Everyone needs to come here!

Since when did American Junkie become 21+ only just to get food? Wanted to go with some friends and family, 15 of us, and they denied us because not everyone was 21+. Mind you this was 6:30 PM on a Saturday. I'm shocked. Everyone was going to order food, and the adults were going to get drinks and it was empty inside. It's a bummer because it's a great location and a great space. There is no need for restaurants on Hermosa Pier to be exclusive to people under 21 before 8:00. Ridiculous.

Me and a couple of buddies were heading back from the Santa Anita race track all day and wanted to watch some college football and grab some food. The Hermosa pier is pretty close to my friends house so we decided to head over to that area to look for food. We looked around and this place had a lot of TVs playing the different games everywhere so we settled at this place. The TVs are well positioned and the energy seemed fun and vibrant. Pretty good selection of craft beer or beer in general and lots of selection in terms of cocktails. The menu is pretty standard as the name of the place suggests in terms of bar food. We ordered the supreme pizza and bone in chicken wings. I personally ordered a hazy IPA to drink. The pizza and wings were very solid and would order again if I came back. Would be curious how the other items would be like as well. The bartenders were very attentive and super helpful and treated you well. We sat at the bar pretty easily as the place wasn't packed at the time. I thought this place was great and would come back to watch a game here. It probably would be fun to watch NFL football on a Sunday in addition to college football like we did Saturday evening. All in all, if you were looking for a great sports bar with good to great food, a fun atmosphere, and great peoples helping you, this is a great place to go.

They don't have many options for gluten and soy free my boyfriend loves this place though. They make good drinks!

This bar has the most amazing vibe. The servers are sooooo wonderful - Brooke and Josh - re the best . The manager Art really takes care of all the patrons . My entire crew from orange theory fitness has come to American Junkie for the entire MLB playoffs!!! The energy is unbeatable . Free blue dodger Jell-O shots for every home run

Apparently, the American junkie will not serve lunch or dinner to anyone under 21 unless they are accompanied by their parents... I can't find anything that states that on their website but they refused to serve food to my daughter and her two friends at 5 PM on a Wednesday night because they were 18 years old...good to know that athletes participating in all the junior and collegiate beach volleyball tournaments are not welcome.

Food is always good. Pizza is delicious and those chips! I've been here multiple times and service is always amazing. Unless I misunderstood, this place is no longer dog friendly. If i wasn't, Yelp features should be updated.

Went there this Sunday - while of course the restaurants there are mostly bar scenes and not the best for families we made it work! (Drag show going on inside and we stayed outside-not child appropriate) The food was amazing! Got tots instead of fries with our burgers and it was amazing! Chicken tenders could be shared with 2 people-not frozen pieces-hand cut and done so well! Our server was good/she had a lot going on but the food came out fast too!

I went here yesterday for dinner and it was good! Nothing really stood out to me but if I had to recommend something I would recommend the chicken tender appetizer. The atmosphere was great. The workers were quick to clean up tables. I was impressed with that as well with the customer service! Good place to stop by on vacation.

Ri and Brooke are both awesome. Always so friendly and easy to talk with whenever I come in. I've been coming here for years and never once had any problems with service at all. They always have sports game on or have some sort of live music going depending on the day. 10/10 high recommend checking this place out.

So happy with this place! Staff seems to really care about anyone that walks in and we had a great experience with Sophia. Trevor also made sure we enjoyed our time. Fantastic and reliable food and service here for sure!
