The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai

"Every time we walk through Fort’s narrow lanes—past the engineering works, tool shops, and Xerox centers—and enter Americano, we feel a fizzy anticipation, like going to meet a crush who kinda already knows we’re crushing on them. We can’t put our finger on exactly why this Italian restaurant ensures we always leave happy, but we have theories. For starters, the glowing bar belts out the city’s most creative cocktails, like the Worli Bird with tequila, passion fruit, and hellfire tincture, the custom gold-tiled oven turns out perfect Neapolitan-style pizzas, and everyone and everything looks gorgeous at weekend brunch under the slanting light from the high windows. Order the salads and share plates like the aromatic truff puffs, shaved brussels sprouts, and delicate sea bass crudo as soon as you sit down. We should mention that their luxurious (and, yes, monogrammed) tiramisu is easily the best in town. " - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India - Eater

"Chef Alex Sanchez is no stranger to the restaurant scene in Mumbai. His run at the Table influenced how several peers would view dining in the city. His second restaurant, Americano, which he opened with partner Mallyeka Watsa, is often interpreted as an Italian restaurant, despite having influences from all over. Every small plate is chic, highlighting its ingredients. Try the sweetcorn ribs, duck ravioli, and shaved Brussels sprouts. Americano’s bar program would warrant a visit even without the food. Sample the Amaize Balls cocktail with tequila, peach jam, and salted corn, which lives up to its name." - Sumedh Natu

The 50 Best Restaurants in India | Bon Appétit

"Since its hotly anticipated debut in March 2019, Americano has been a destination for creative cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails. Located in the arts precinct of Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, the restaurant features 20-ft ceilings and fluted glass windows, with elegant and understated décor. Head chef Alex Sanchez has trained under the likes of Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, New York, and was also behind the launch of The Table and Magazine Street Kitchen. Americano, which Sanchez launched with his partner Mallyeka Watsa, is known for its pizzas topped with braised mushrooms, smoky bacon and fennel sausage, corn ribs, and creamy handmade pastas. The Americano tiramisu has a separate fanbase. Spongy and chilled, with a hidden layer of tempered chocolate, the tiramisu is scooped out and served fresh right at the table." - ByArundhati Ail

Had a wonderful time at Americano! The vibe was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious, every dish was thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavour. The service was great too, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot with great ambience and food that hits the mark. Will definitely be coming back!

Delicious food. Friendly, professional and prompt service at the right price point. What more can one ask of a restaurant? I walked in for a solo lunch without a reservation on Sunday afternoon. All tables were taken but there was plenty of room at the bar counter. Had sea bass carpaccio for a start - (the fish was great but I thought the toppings were a bit too much) and the grilled snapper for mains (perfectly done), followed by gelato dessert (very good). Was a dry day for festivals, only non alcoholic stuff, so I just had plain water. Will try the drinks next time - yes there will be a next time.

Visited this place after a lot of recommendations. The food was average specially for vegetarians. Only things worth the price and praise were the Pizza and Tiramisu. The staff is courteous. The Gnocchi Pasta was too high on egg content, though the staff was kind to replace it on request. The desserts were the highlight of the meal, we tried Tiramisu and Strawberry with ice cream and both were delicious.

There’s reason why this restaurant is rated as one of the best in India and Asia … amazing vibe, cocktails, food, wine collection, presentation and ambience. Very hard to get reservations. Must visit for any occasion

We tried our luck by walking in as we did not have a reservation, but we found a bar table which was super comfy. Right from the receptionist to the server and bartender were exceptional! Coming to the food, you will be blown with every dish you order. Thoughtfully curated flavors will send you straight to heaven 😆 Cocktails with REAL fruits, Spices, fermented foods were top notch. Not the regular flavored syrups!!

The pizza was delicious, the snapper was the best I’ve ever had, the tiramisu was to die for. My horniman sour was really well made too. The staff, the ambience and the service was absolutely top notch. Definitely coming back here to try different things.

In the heart of Kala Ghoda, this Italian restaurant has earned a special spot on my list of favorites. What sets them apart? - Consistency. Their pizzas are always cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. But what really gets me excited is their selection of small bar bites. Each one is a winner, but the truffle puffs are absolute heaven. Their cocktails are expertly crafted, with unique flavor combinations that will keep you coming back. And the staff? Attentive, friendly, and unusually responsive. They always return calls for reservations, which is a testament to their commitment to customer service. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors in a cozy, upscale setting. I also love the vibe and ambiance of this place. Looking forward to trying out their new restaurant, just a walking distance from this one in Kala Ghoda.

I tried the gnocchi and gigli – they were just okay. The love letter and steak stood out, and the jalapeño Dijon pork belly was incredibly juicy and flavorful. They do make great cocktails, though the portion sizes are on the smaller side. Overall, it’s a decent place to dine. The tiramisu was quite nice, especially the crunch from the chocolate and caramelised sugar I guess. it added a great texture.
