50 Best Restaurants in India, From Kasauli to Kolkata | Condé Nast Traveler

"Obsessed with ingredient and technique, Americano is Alexander Lee Sanchez’s modern Italian temple where perfected pizza dough and sourced tomatoes yield arguably the city's best slice, alongside roast chicken that’s juicy and burnished and a table-scooped tiramisu hiding tempered chocolate; the kitchen’s vigilance and exacting cocktails make this one of Mumbai’s most consistent, sold-out dining rooms." - Karina Acharya

The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai - Mumbai - The Infatuation

"Every time we walk through Fort’s narrow lanes—past the engineering works, tool shops, and Xerox centers—and enter Americano, we feel a fizzy anticipation, like going to meet a crush who kinda already knows we’re crushing on them. We can’t put our finger on exactly why this Italian restaurant ensures we always leave happy, but we have theories. For starters, the glowing bar belts out the city’s most creative cocktails, like the Worli Bird with tequila, passion fruit, and hellfire tincture, the custom gold-tiled oven turns out perfect Neapolitan-style pizzas, and everyone and everything looks gorgeous at weekend brunch under the slanting light from the high windows. Order the salads and share plates like the aromatic truff puffs, shaved brussels sprouts, and delicate sea bass crudo as soon as you sit down. We should mention that their luxurious (and, yes, monogrammed) tiramisu is easily the best in town." - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India | Eater

"Chef Alex Sanchez is no stranger to the restaurant scene in Mumbai. His run at the Table influenced how several peers would view dining in the city. His second restaurant, Americano, which he opened with partner Mallyeka Watsa, is often interpreted as an Italian restaurant, despite having influences from all over. Every small plate is chic, highlighting its ingredients. Try the sweetcorn ribs, duck ravioli, and shaved Brussels sprouts. Americano’s bar program would warrant a visit even without the food. Sample the Amaize Balls cocktail with tequila, peach jam, and salted corn, which lives up to its name." - Sumedh Natu

Americano – Fort Americano carries its own distinct vibe and charm, consistently drawing one of the best crowds in South Mumbai. The space offers a decent seating capacity, a lively bar section, and even some unique standing benches to accommodate the rush—adding to the restaurant’s energetic yet relaxed atmosphere. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and the cocktail list is creatively designed. Though the cocktails are visually impressive, they are quite ice-heavy with minimal alcohol—something that could be improved. Portion sizes, especially in the sharing plates, are on the smaller side. Slightly larger portions would enhance the overall dining experience. Must-tries: Jalapeño Pork Belly – beautifully done, a standout dish. Roast Chicken – absolutely worth the 45-minute wait. A side of tossed salad would elevate it more than the double-fried potatoes it currently comes with. Americano Tiramisu – their signature dessert and genuinely one of the best in Mumbai. Have also heard great things about their Apple Pie. The service team deserves a special mention—they are extremely polite, attentive, and cooperative. Kudos to them for adding warmth to the dining experience.

Americano is this chic, upscale talk of the town resto-bar located in the lanes of Kala Ghoda, fort. One tough place to get a reservation, whose-who of the town wants to hang-out there. The place is tastefully done 'minimalist opulence', great vibe and lively - my kind of place. Ordered a whole lot of food starting with Duck Ravioli, Shaved Brussels Sprout, Pork Belly, Seared Salmon, Bee Sting, Crab (Mac & Cheese), Carnivore Pizza, Sausage Pasta and topped it up with a Tiramisu. Everything is good but the Pork belly and Duck Ravioli is to die for, can come back to eat only these 2 items. Staff is courteous, very well trained and quick on their feet despite the rush. Kudos and keep up the good work. If I have to rate the place, Food: 4.5/5 Quality: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Price: Expensive :)) Overall, 4.5/5, highly recommended. Work of caution, portion sizes are small.

Americano: World-Class Cocktails, Killer Italian Food, and the Best Vibe in Mumbai! Forget the hype, Americano absolutely lives up to it! Yes, reservations are tight (book weeks ahead!), but this place is worth every bit of effort. The vibe here is effortlessly cool, chic, and sets the perfect stage for a brilliant evening. It opens daily at 7:00 PM. The Food: Must-Try Dishes The kitchen's commitment to quality ingredients, which they proudly feature on their menu, shines through in every dish. We tried and absolutely recommend the Sweetcorn Ribs, the decadent Pink Panther Pizza, the perfect Crispy Potatoes, the comforting Lasagnette, and the flavorful Pici Pomodoro. The Cocktails: A Masterclass Do yourself a massive favor and skip the table for a seat at the bar! This is where the magic happens. We loved every cocktail we tried, especially the Dead Rabbit, The Cardinal, Hornima Sour, and Crimson & Clover. A huge shout-out to Sumit, the mixologist! He is truly exceptional. After realizing our taste and love for Expresso Martini,, Sumit went above and beyond, crafting us an off-menu cocktail called Lior 43 (L I O R 43) that was out of this world. He even served us small glasses of it to pair with our incredible Tiramisu dessert, a perfect, personalized touch! Shoutout to their entire staff ~ courteous, and very very prompt. My Recommendation: Sit at the bar, trust Sumit for your drinks, and make sure you try the Lior 43 and the Sweetcorn Ribs.

Americano is truly lives up to the buzz. Tucked into a stylish, intimate space with an industrial-chic ambience, the restaurant delivers a dining experience that feels modern and a bit exclusive. Reservations are very hard to get, so book well in advance. The service is excellent: attentive, well-informed, and genuinely warm. Limited seating adds to the boutique feel of the space. Ofcourse food is the real star. Americano manages to bring bold, creative flavors while still keeping things comforting. The use of Brussels sprouts in a couple of dishes is clever and delicious a standout even for those who wouldn’t usually go for them. The pasta is exceptional, with the duck ravioli stealing the show — rich, deeply flavorful, and beautifully plated. The crab dish is another highlight as it’s fresh and full of complexity. And the pork belly? Absolutely spot-on: crisp, tender, and perfectly balanced. Americano isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. Well worth the effort it takes to get a table.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Americano, Mumbai – A Must-Visit for Italian Lovers! Had a fantastic experience dining at Americano! From start to finish, everything was spot on. The drinks were absolutely amazing — perfectly crafted and refreshing, setting the tone for a great evening. The food was of excellent quality, with a truly authentic Italian taste that’s hard to find elsewhere in Mumbai. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The service was equally impressive — attentive, warm, and perfectly timed without being intrusive. The staff made sure we had a great experience throughout. And now for the best part — the tiramisu! It’s one of their most popular desserts and usually runs out quickly, but we were lucky to get it. And wow — it was simply divine. Light, creamy, and perfectly balanced — the perfect way to end the meal. If you’re looking for a spot with great drinks, authentic Italian food, and impeccable service, Americano should definitely be on your list. Can’t wait to go back! 🍝🍷🍰

HFS these two have nailed a solid Napoli pizza!! As an abcd from nyc I have had my fill of everything being desified. I decided to give this spot a try and floored. This was one of the best sopressata pizzas I’ve ever had. Admittedly it was pretty close to nyc pricing but that dough and that crust and the cheese, and no skimping on the sopressata which was meaty and just like I like it on a pizza (heated thoroughly). I don’t know what that business was about the dipping sauce for the crust because that crust is amazing on its own. There was a tall, solid belt bartender, who was incredibly adept at multitasking and engaging with the customers. I asked him to lean on his Mixology skills and he definitely demonstrated his acumen at bartending with having one of the base cocktails, and a slight tweak using one of the various infusions that they have. The restaurant interior and decor and vibe was on par with back home. Likewise was the clientele. What was refreshing was how hospitable all the staff was from the hostesses to the servers and bartenders. Though I would say wrapping up a slice doesn’t need to be a big production particularly in a country that already has issues with waste management infrastructure. I hope this place is around for awhile and expands. Hope the chef’s transition to India has been full of joyful and positive experiences. Kudos to him for his skills and quenching my culinary home sickness!

The food is good here, clean well presented. They let the flavour of the ingredients shine. Is it the best italian restaurant in Mumbai as some might have you believe? I doubt so. Hype aside the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff is very professional and quite courteous. The waiting staff is well versed with their recommendations and food pairings. This is a lively place so if you wish to have a quiet and intimate meal maybe look elsewhere. Irrespective if you wish to have a good meal with wood fired pizzas (the bread/base is excellent, something they should pat their backs about) then Americano can be one of the many options in and around Fort/Kala Ghoda. Their tiramisu (as suggested our server) was one of the better ones I've had over the years.
