Best Restaurants in Concord and Pleasant Hill | Eater SF

"Anarkali is a Pakistani/Indian/halal restaurant serving up affordable (many entrees are $10 or less) grilled meats, curries, and daily specials like lamb shank and goat biryani. Highlights include the tandoori fish, chicken, or lamb seekh kebab, garnished with thinly sliced onions and lime wedges. The menu also features vegetarian-friendly dishes like palak paneer, aloo gobi, and daal — all available to be enjoyed as takeout, of course, or at Anarkali’s handful of outdoor tables." - Rebecca Shea

We had a wonderful experience at Anarkali! Our party of 10 arrived after 9:00 PM, and they graciously accommodated us without hesitation. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious -- fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Every dish was thoroughly enjoyed, and we truly appreciated the hospitality so late in the evening. Thank you to the staff and kitchen for making our night so delightful. Highly recommended!

Google
Pros: the food is really good & fresh. Portions are reasonable. Great variety. Quick service. Amazing prices! Best item : fish tandoori. Cons: heavy use of food color. Self service of plates, glasses, cutlery, water jugs, etc. Slow cleanup service. No one comes to your table to take orders ; you have to go up to the desk. Atmosphere is super-casual. Location could be better (right opposite a dollar store)

The chicken Karachi was ok. Biryani was good. Naans were fresh. Tea was very good. Please paint the toilet door.

Google
Best Pakistani and Indian restaurant in the Bay Area in terms of prices, portions, and flavor especially the chicken tandoori and biryani. Bring your apetite when you come here - you'll enjoy the food.

Google
Absolutely the worst Indian/Pakistani food experience I’ve ever had. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala—my go-to dish at every South Asian restaurant—and it was a complete disaster. The chicken was raw, completely inedible, and the sauce had a sour, spoiled smell like it had been sitting out for days. I also got the rice, which reeked like sweat—disgusting enough that I had to throw it straight in the trash. The naan? Barely cooked and so tough I couldn’t even chew it. On top of the awful food, be aware that the menu prices are misleading—expect to pay $5–$10 more than what’s listed. I usually try to point out both positives and negatives, but in this case, there’s absolutely nothing good to say. This place was a huge disappointment from start to finish. If you’re a fan of Chicken Tikka Masala, do not ruin your taste buds here. You’ve been warned.

One of the best desi restaurants I have been too. We were visiting from out of town and tried this place. Food is so authentic, and well priced. We tried a bunch of things from the menu and each one impressed us. It was just delicious!

Yelp
Our favorite family restaurant delicious food when I asked my kids the first thing they say they choosing Anarkali specially chicken, tikka masala and a veggie buriani rice

Yelp
Ordered via DoorDash! Came hot and super tasty! The samosa was still crunchy on the outside and perfectly moist and flavorful on the inside. The chutneys were a perfect pair I got the coconut prawns, basmati rice and garlic naan. All were very good. I wish the prawns had some veggies or onions but the coconut sauce packed a punch with the right amount of heat. The rice was fine and the naan was a little dry. They also packed a small side of garbanzo beans in a wonderful sauce. It was excellent, only wish I had gotten a bigger side

Yelp
Food is always good here, and here are some of our favorites: - chicken or lamb tikka masala: creamy and delicious with good-sized chicken breast chunks or tender lamb chunks. Either is great with basmati rice or naan. Definitely our #1 favorite. - aloo gobi: this is probably our second favorite. This might be a vegetarian dish but it is extremely savory and delicious. I love to it with rice but it's also great to be eaten on its own. - bengan bartha: well-spiced mashed eggplant that feels almost creamy. It could get spicy but the spice is still acceptable. Great with rice or naan as well. - chicken biryani: the portion is good and each rice grain is really infused with a good curry flavor. The chicken comes bone-in which isn't my favorite. I prefer boneless. - chai tea: complimentary for dine-in customers. Great and creamy. Service has been great, restaurant is spacious, and parking is easy.

Yelp
Definitely in the Top Five of my favorite Bay Area restaurants. Last Friday was the fifth time I've eaten here, and each time the food has been straight fire. I know very little about Pakistani or Indian food, and part of the reason why is most restaurants that serve those cuisines are ridiculously expensive. I have no why their prices are so high. But so often they are prohibitively expensive. At least to me. But somehow Anarkali Concord is able to serve up outstanding dishes at a very reasonable price. The menu items are so attractively priced, one is tempted to try everything on the menu And Lord knows I'm never one to resist temptation. I'm all about trying everything on this menu. And surely I will, visit by visit. This most recent visit we got the Veggie Korma ($10) and Chicken Tikka Masala ($11) like we always do, and tried the Shrimp Biryani ($13) and the Lamb Chops Tandori ($15). We also got some of Anarkali's truly wonderful Garlic Naan and an order of Basmati Rice. What a feast! Every dish was bursting with flavor. The food was so good the conversation we had been engaged in before the food was served slowly died. By the time we were two or three bites in, the table was quiet except for one or another of us muttering some version of "got damn this food is good!" every few minutes. Absolutely impossible to identify a favorite dish, not just because they were uniformly excellent, but also because of how well all our choices worked together. My guess is you could pick any other four dishes and achieve the same result. All the menu items compliment each other. I'm going to test that Idea next time I visit. i'm going to blindfold myself and pick a random item from four different sections of the menu. That's how much I like this restaurant and how confident I am in their recipes. I highly recommend Anarkali Concord! Really delicious Pakistani food at bargain prices. Mikey C says: did I mention the FREE serve-yourself chai? It's so damn good!

Yelp
Anarkali has some real highlights, but also a few areas that could use improvement. First off, the ambiance could definitely be better. The place would benefit from a little more attention to its appearance and overall vibe--it didn't quite match the dining experience I was hoping for. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The butter chicken was just okay--definitely more on the tomato-y side, which wasn't my preference, but it wasn't bad. On the other hand, their naan was excellent--fluffy, soft, and absolutely delicious. I could eat that on its own! The standout dish for me was the Tandoori Raja Prawns--packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I'd 100% go back just for those. The Chicken Breast Tandoori was also really tasty and flavorful. Personally, I would've preferred it chopped into cubes, but that's just a minor personal preference. Their customer service was really good, attentive and friendly throughout the visit. Unfortunately, the mango lassi was a bit of a miss--not terrible, just below average and lacking that creamy, fresh taste I usually look for. Overall, a decent experience with a few standout dishes. If they improve the ambiance and fine-tune a couple of menu items, it could be a great spot.

Yelp
My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in this area. The prices are great and it's so filling. We love their garlic naan and my personal favorite is their palek paneer. I prefer their vegetarian dishes because I don't really eat meat dishes when eating Indian food. Their chana masala is amazing as well. Super quick and our orders are always ready on time. This has been our favorite Indian spot for years and we don't plan on changing anytime soon.

Yelp
Still consistently yummy! So far really the BEST in this Contra Costa area. I updated with the different dishes I tried this time around. Their palak gosht ( spinach with lamb) was very good- had a little different taste in a good way than others I have tried. This was a branded palak versus smashed spinach where you can see the leaves which I normally like better, but the taste was good in this. The Chana chole masala ( garbanzo beans) was really good and a thick sauce. Even my kids loved this. Tip 1: I take leftovers and make x it in the morning with hardboiled eggs sliced in half and put into the dish/sauce with sprinkle of cilantro makes a good traditional breakfast or meal to stretch this dish further. Chicken Karahai had a thick and delicious sauce. I would suggest adding more bell peppers and onion which I notice many restaurants giving less or some not at all these days. Otherwise, so yummy sauce and such tender chicken. Lamb kebobs- on point, soft and tender. Very good with green chutney and tamarind sauce too. They had a raita sauce too, but I don't know if that was for the kebob or something else, but it was a nice touch on a hot day! Even the hot tea was good and subtly sweet. They offer it free to pour yourself. They have a freezer full of kulfi and pistachio type of ice cream too- nice! This restaurant is consistently delicious which a lot of restaurants aren't especially after Covid. So I know I get great food at reasonable price.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall. It's behind a bigger shopping center, tucked away. But people know about it, there were a few groups there. You walk up and order, severs were respectful and reserved. I'm a fan of Indian food and I loved it here. Flavorful and fairly priced. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Very good food but the cashier/ attendant was inhospitable and plain rude. He barely acknowledged me and dismissed me as soon as I said my name for the pick up. Horrible experience. Definitely not going back.

Yelp
Definitely our new go-to Indian delivery place! The lamb vindaloo was one of the best I've had (super lean and tasty lamb and great flavors). The chicken tikka masala was quite good and very creamy, and the palak paneer was quite good too (though maybe could have used some more paneer chunks). The portions were a little small but the cost was way lower than similar places that it was definitely work it. The plain naan was thick and fluffy and the onion & garlic naans were quite good too, though the onion one could have been more onion-y. The order didn't come with rice, which was interesting as most places give a free rice for such an order, but that's fine. And there wasn't any choice on DoorDash for the spice level of any dish, but they were all pretty good anyway. The palak and tikka masala were both quite mild while the vindaloo had a nice little spicy kick.

Yelp
I happened to be in this side of town and decided to go in for dinner , & I was surprised to experience a "SELF SERVE" Restaurant, basically you order on the counter and on the side you'll see a fridge where you can grab a glass container of water or sodas, and on the side a rack stocked with glasses, dishes and utensils. There's plenty of seating , once you choose your table you have to bring your stuff over, the people at the register will bring your food to the table. The prices didn't seemed to pricey compare to other places I had been, but I'm assuming since there's no waiters , they don't pass those fees to you. The restaurant is very clean , they have complementary chai tea to drink while you get your order. The Lamb tikka Masala was on point , very tasty, we ordered plain naan , it was fresh and warm. I also had rice , it was good , but I had tried it in other places and this one was different like more plain, however once you mixed it with the tikka masala it doesn't matter. This restaurant is located by a dollar tree store and parking is not an issue. I feel like this is a great place to grab food and go :)

Yelp
My friend and I came here this afternoon before our Dollar Tree trip, as we were both quite hungry. I had bookmarked Anarkali on the recommendation of fellow Yelper Harvey K but hadn't had the chance to try it until today. My friend really likes it and has eaten there before. I had the veggie tikka masala and my friend had the butter chicken. She also ordered garlic naan, rice, samosas, and the gulab jaman. I had a piece of garlic naan and a little rice. The tikka masala definitely had a kick but the naan, rice, and the raita balanced out the heat. Though I forgot to request it mild, the spice was not unbearable for me. As another reviewer pointed out, the naan was doughy, which I agree with and like. Both the naan and rice were not dry at all. Love that they had complimentary chai. The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there. You order at the counter and they bring the items to you. Our interactions with the staff were minimal but they were polite and brought the food out quickly. Yes, it's a hole in the wall place. The quality of the food fat outweighs the ambiance, hence the 5-star rating. Prices are very reasonable. The tikka masala was $10 and the vegetarian dishes range from $9-11. Seafood dishes range from $12-13. We will be back!

Yelp
I've been coming here with my son regularly over the years. This restaurant is consistently great. I've never had a bad meal or waited too long. The best on the menu: Cholle, Karahi Chicken, & Chicken Leg Tandoori. The kid loves setting the table.

Yelp
Just order to go order worth about $100 from this place. First of it was missing items and also they do not follow any instructions you may provide when ordering. I specially ordered tadka Daal for kids as they don't eat spicy and requested it to be not spicy. They prepared it very spicy and ruined lunch for both my kids. When I called the gentleman (not sure if they are owner) to report, he said Daal is already pre made and cannot be made non-spicy. In that case they should mention it is spicy on menu. And owner did not even offer to refund the money for missing item but rather told me to come at anytime.. what's kind of strange people these restaurant people are.. be aware... my recommendation avoid this place.
google avatar

Ally M.

Yelp
Delicious. Spicy and creamy tikka masala, well-cooked tandoori, and a tangy vindaloo. Add to this they're appropriately priced. The two of us usually get two dishes, plus naan and samosas. We absolutely gorge ourselves at dinner, and I've still got enough leftovers for a hearty lunch the next day.
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
We recently went to Anarkali for the first. You order at the counter, take a number to your table, and pick up plates, utensils from a rack. Your food is brought to you and you pay at the counter when you are done. We had samosas, papadam, chicken seekh kabob, rice, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. Everything was delicious. The naan was the best we've had. We will be going back.

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite restaurants! My fiance and I love lamb and this place has a lot of different options for a very reasonable price. Our favorite are the lamb Tikka Masala, the Bhindi Gosht (lamb with okra) and the lamb shank when available. We also always order two garlic naans, a mango lassi to share, some kheer (rice pudding) and two pistachio ice cream "popsicles". The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is always peaceful. It's a great place for a date or a family outing.

Yelp
We wanted punjabi food. Unfortunately it was 3 pm and many were closed. We stumbled on Anarkali. It is a no frills pakistani restaurant with halal food. We are vegan. Thankfully they have a large selection of vegan /vegetarian options. Food was made fresh. We enjoyed every item we ordered. Definitely a good option for a quick bite or take out.

Yelp
Fresh and tasty curry! The bread was delicious too! This first time trying this restaurant favourably recommended

Yelp
I honestly don't have much to say beside, why did it take me so long to come here. This place is not only affordable, but it has the nicest group of staff that work here. I came here twice already, once with my husband and they were super nice to tell us on how their place is self serve; you order first, get your plates, drinks and sauces, then you take a seat at any open table. After you are done eating, you then pay after and let them know if you grabbed any soda out of the fridge. The ambiance here is super simple, but cute for their establishment. The second time I was here, I came with my coworker and we ordered the lamp chop Tandoori which was the best cuts of meat and super tender. My coworker really enjoyed this place and will definitely be making this our weekly round of coming here. I will say that because everything is affordable, it not only taste good, but they are also generous with their portions when serving. This place is honestly a hidden gems of Indian food, because you wouldn't think to come here until someone tells you and then you get all mad because it took you this long to come in here. I had a great experience with both visits and I honestly like the self serve concept of it because it allows you to get ready for your food to come out. Like I always say, don't knock it till you try it.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Not your typical restaurant experience. You walk up to order, and the gentleman at the counter was so nice and attentive. We were given complimentary chai to go with our meal. Perfect for the rainy day we were having. We ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala curry and rice. We finished the meal with Gulab Jaman, and we enjoyed everything. Nothing amazing, just good, hearty, comfort food. Will definitely come back, especially for the garlic naan. Soooo so good.

Yelp
This was our second visit here. The first time was with some other friends just over two years ago. This time, we came with a friend whose sons usually do all of the ordering and he just eats. And so we ordered, and he ate! Ordering is done at the counter. Once you place your order, you'll get a table number, and the food will be delivered to you. Set-ups and drinks are self-service. We paid after we finished our meal but I wouldn't be surprised if they asked for payment before food prep either. We tend to order Chinese family style. That's usually one soup and then one entree per person plus rice and maybe dessert. Since soups aren't offered here, we substituted one additional entree. In lieu of Steamed Rice, we got Basmati Rice along with one order each of Onion and Garlic Naan. We ordered a Lamb, a Chicken, a Shrimp and a Veg. As noted before, the serving portions are not huge. But then, neither are the prices. Several pieces of protein, some veg and lots of sauce per dish. That seems to be how all of the Indian and Pakistani Restaurants that I've eaten at have served their dishes. There are a few that offer larger portions but then their pricing is adjusted accordingly as well. The sauces are intense and full of flavor. That's where the rice and naan come in for us. Plates don't need to be washed (don't call the health department!) when we've completely wiped them clean with our naan.

Yelp
Good food Weird location though I ordered 1 breast and 1 leg tandoori but I got 2 legs otherwise very good Buy the garlic naan needs to have a crispy crust please Namaste

Yelp
The best restaurant for ever , baker really nice person he has the talent to take care of all his costumers , i love that person. The restaurant is really clean and very nice costumer service, the food believe me is really really good, I love it, anyway I will go back anytime

Yelp
Great food and good prices. I always get chicken tiki masala, rice and naan. Go for the food, not the decor.

Dahlia R.

Yelp
Loved the food! The service was great. Server was very attentive and welcoming. I will be coming back!

Yelp
Best Pakistani food in the Bay Area ! Service is excellent! They have some vegetarian dishes that are also delicious! My favorite dish is the palak! But they are all great every time!

Kale K.

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of downtown Concord, Anarkali is a culinary gem that brings the rich flavors and vibrant aromas of Pakistani cuisine to life. As soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted with a warm atmosphere, adorned with traditional decor that reflects culture and history. Definitely one of my favorite cuisines.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
We've been coming to Anarkali so often that we have a regular order (2 Samosas, Naan, Rice, Bangain Bharta, Chicken Tikka Masala & Saag Paneer). The food has become homestyle comfort food for me; after traveling for work coming back to Anarkali is a helpful ritual for centering back in Concord. The service is friendly, and there are always families getting dinner. It's a calm but lovely ambiance, and perfect for any grouping or solo diners. There are chutneys & water bottles in the fridge, as well as a canteen of hot chai - all free. It's hard to find places like this these days. If you're in town, make a habit of visiting Anarkali's.
google avatar

Gabrielle T.

Yelp
I've noticed a lot of reviews of Anarkali use the word "authentic", but I've never been anywhere in the Middle East and will have to take everyone else's word for it. What I can attest to is that the delicious flavors they serve up are as delicious as they are complex and rich, and that when they say "spicy", they mean it--and I really like that in a place. I love da spice. My favorite dish from here is the Paneer Tikka Masala ("Very Spicy") accompanied by the Garlic Naan. You definitely don't need more than a single serving of this yummy naan, so keep it sensible and just buy one if you're eating solo--it's more than enough. The venue itself is... A tad lackluster. Not much of an ambiance. But I've literally never eaten inside the restaurant and prefer to take my goodies home to enjoy. (My boyfriend doesn't like Indian food so I can actually enjoy it, sans somebody's fingers sliding into my grub every time I'm not looking. Praise be.) Head over to Anarkali and enjoy all the traditional fixin's of some authentic, delicious food.
google avatar

Joy P.

Yelp
We've eaten here many times over the past 4 or 5 years and they are consistently great meals. They have resisted the current trend to gouge customers with price increases and deliver good portions of deliciously spiced food. We often order enough to take home dinner for the next day too and the service is always quick and friendly.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a weekday with my boyfriend about a month ago. I've been meaning to leave a review because I really enjoyed my dining experience here and want to share it. I used to work nearby and would often smell the delicious food from here, so I told myself I'd eat here someday. Food: My bf ordered the chicken tikka masala and paneer naan while I got the veggie biryani, garlic naan, and samosas appetizer. The food came out quick and everything was warm and delicious. The portions were big and I feel like we could've split everything we ordered into 2-3 regular sized meals. The veggie biryani was spicier than ones I've gotten in other places, but it was still tolerable for me as someone who usually orders mild to medium spice level for dishes. The samosas were huge and crispy with flavorful filling. The naan was soft and huge. Great value since the food was affordable while also coming in generous portions. I went home with leftovers. Service: You walk in and order at the front. There are menus at the front for you to look at. We didn't realize that the utensils and water were self serve at first, so the gentleman who took our order gave us silverware at our table and told us we can grab what we needed. The water was cold and refreshing. I loved the warm complimentary chai by the register. When finished with your meal, you pay at the front. For me, the service was fast and friendly. Ambiance: Small interior with what I remember to be about 10 tables. The booth we chose was comfortable and roomy. Minimal decor and clean. Parking: Ample parking right in front of the restaurant. There's also a parking garage close by in the event the parking lot is ever full, but usually there's available parking. I definitely plan to come back and eat here again! Next time, I'll take pictures of the food.

Yelp
The food here is the bomb. Always tastes freshly made and is very very delicious. The Tandoori Fish is the best I've ever had anywhere period. Their Naan bread is also some of the best. We always get the chicken Tikka Masala and Zamosas. They are excellent every single time.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has some awesome food and prices are very reasonable. The service is very fast and portions are extremely good to share with your guest or partner. Much better than Nan & Curry in downtown Concord. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Lamb Shank was Phenomenal too Good best Shank ever had it's a Self service Restaurant everything was Good .

Yelp
We got takeout from Anarkali after a long day of home improvement work. Our friend helping us is vegan, so we had to find a place that would satisfy our hunger and his dietary restrictions. Anarkali fit the bill! Prices are super reasonable and the food was really good - probably the best Indian food I've found since I moved from Fremont many years ago! Samosas 10/5 - I love samosas and these were great examples of them. The chutney that came with it was also delicious. Chana masala 5/5 - Super flavorful and on par with great Indian food I've had in the South Bay. Vegan friendly! Chicken tikka masala 4/5 - My husband always orders the same thing when we get Indian food, which actually gives a good benchmark to compare restaurants! Their version of this dish is good, but not excellent. Bengun bharta 6/5 - I had never had this eggplant based dish before, and my only regret is that I hadn't tried it earlier. So good! And vegan! Tadka daal 5/5 - Great daal, not much else to say about it - if you like lentils you'll like this dish. Also vegan! Overall we were super impressed and will be heading there to dine in the next time we're craving Indian food!

Yelp
Every time I come here to pick up takeout, the owner/manager seems to be grumpy and in a bad mood. He is rude, seems miserable and unhappy to be there. The service provided by him is absolutely awful. Each time I go to pick up my food, I inform him of my order and name and he acts irritated and bothered as though I am a nuisance to him by coming there. This guy is terrible! Don't go here. Food is ok but not worth the poor treatment by the owner.

Yelp
ANARKALI! This is the BEST Indian food around! Their tikka masala is so flavorful and so perfectly spicy (without needing to ask for it to be!). And it doesn't matter what you put in it. If you're going classic, Chicken Tikka is for you. If you like different meat options, Lamb Tikka is so tender it almost melts in your mouth! I took my mom here once (and she's super adverse to trying new things) and she loved the lamb. If you can't eat meat, that's ok. Vegetable Tikka is equally as good! Don't get me started on their Samosas. The tamarind sauce it comes with is perfection in a container. Do you like Naan? Of course you do. They lamb-stuffed naan. I have never seen that in other restaurants! The service is quick and helpful. When I was still just trying out the place, I called and asked if they could make the Tikka spicy and they were very polite and assured me that it would be. There's plenty of parking here, and plenty of tables and chairs! There's a sectioned off part of the restaurant you can sit at too -- perfect for a party! The vibe of the place is casual, so don't feel the need to dress up.

Yelp
This place used to be Indian restaurant I would recommend to friends and family over naan and curry but I am not sure what happened over past year the food taste has gone downhill. It's a watered down curry.. seriously!! Food comes out pretty quickly so I have a commend them for that. Ambiance is nothing to write about. It's alright. Needless to say this place is not a restaurant I would go to for Indian food. There are way better options out there.

Yelp
We came here because of the yelp ratings and we were somewhat disappointed. The man running the front was gruff. You order from him at the counter and then sit down and they bring your food to you. You pay after you eat. The restaurant felt cold and bare, not cosy or warm. It's a large restaurant with two rooms, you could host a large group here. There was a TV with a Pakistani news station playing, not sure what language it was but I don't think anyone in the restaurant other than the man at the front counter could understand it. One woman asked if he could change the station and he flipped through a couple channels then went back to the same one. Overall the food was pretty good, that was one redeeming factor, and it was very cheap in price. There's ample free parking right out front and it's just two blocks from Todos Santo, so worth a walk to get dessert after dinner. It's also right next to the dollar store and movie theater.

Yelp
First of all, don't let the empty lot fool you. They are all the way inside the parking lot. Their food is amazing, family owned and very kind folks inside. They are clean, the aroma of the food hits you as soon as you walk in. Chicken tikka masala and biryani super fire.

Yelp
I'm quite sad to downgrade my review of this place for 2 main reasons. (1) Over the last few weeks, the food has gotten very greasy. There's half an inch of grease floating on top of the food, which then I have pour out into the garbage before eating, gross. (2) also the spice level is not at all adjustable. Actually nothing is adjustable in the menu. Just order as is for takeout. That's unfortunate because I don't like paneer and too many items have paneer.

Yelp
After all my time going here over the past few years, I came to the conclusion that their quality dropped because of the pandemic, but it's authentic and usually really good. In the past, they had rugs to provide for people to pray on. I'm not sure if the rugs are still there, but that says a lot. If you want the best, Anarkali, plan ahead to eat there. Everything is made fresh. It is one of those places you order at the front, but they will bring the food out to you. It seems the norm to get your silverware and water at the station on the left of the counter. Also, free chai tea. Just a tip to think that you're in a different country when you enter or order here. It's not some chai tea latte from Starbucks, so try it first. If you are new or might be risk averse to authentic and spicy food, the chicken leg tandoori is a really good option. Otherwise, you might find yourself with something very spicy. If you eat a lot of meat, consider ordering two legs. They bring it out cooking on those black pans (claypot or iron type) with onions. The chicken/vegetable tikka masala or (machlee) fish curry are my favorite dishes. Vegetable tikka masala has been historically more spicy than when they added chicken. The (machlee) curry is the second least spicy dish I have had there, after the chicken leg tandoori. I believe it could be cod? These with garlic or plain naan. They don't add butter, and still good. Onion naan tastes funky, as if it were cooked with meat or something, or maybe it's the type of onion. I have tried other things here in the past, but the spices have been too strong and would upset my stomach. That or the dishes were not my cup of tea. You can always wash it down with mango lassi. It doesn't have that strong yogurt taste to me. It's more like just a yummy mango drink. I would not recommend the following dishes, which you might not be accustomed to. Prawn kabob because it wasn't marinated and still had the original sea taste. Piazi seekh kabob was also not marinated to take flavor away from the meat itself and had the spicy flare. Tadka daal wasn't too bad (lentils), but it was spicy, of course. Bengun bharta was good and spicy, but I think it was too much, and my stomach didn't like it. Again, remember where you are because the chicken coconut curry is obviously not Japanese or Thai. For some reason, I thought it would taste like that before? It tastes similar to the machlee (fish) curry, not too spicy. Once in a while, I ventured to try these other dishes, but I would end up going back to my favorites. Never had an issue with customer service. They are great!

Yelp
Good food. Good portions. And you can always get a table here. Spicier food than Naan and Curry but much better quality. The naan is fantastic!

Yelp
One of my fav Indian restaurants in the area. My go to order is the samosa, seekh kebab, chicken karahi and aloo naan which are really good. Didn't really enjoy the chicken tandoori kebab as much as I think it was missing flavors. Portion size is decent and they also have tea for free that you can enjoy while waiting for your food.

Yelp
Nothing but delicious food in my opinion. Service was fast (door dash) and the packaging was perfect to where all my food was still warm. Thinking about it makes me want to reorder. Yep, I might just do it. Thanks Anakarli team!

Yelp
I ordered veggie biriyani and veggie tikka masala. Both are of good taste. The biriyani dish has potatoes, peas, carrots and paneer chunks. The veggie tikka masala has potatoes, carrots, paneer in a tikka masala curry. I like both dishes although I gave 4/5 stars because the spice level is mild in my opinion and I didn't have option to choose spice while ordering. Overall good Indian dishes both for non-Indian and Indian people

Yelp
Tried chicken biryani few times, very authentic fresh taste of chicken with full plate which keeps me coming back for more. This time I tried saag paneer, I really loved the taste and definitely will give try to other items they have on menu.
