"For an upscale pizza dining experience, check out Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine. The restaurant specializes in Neapolitan pizzas cooked in wood-burning ovens topped with imported meats and cheeses, plus produce from local farms. In fact, Angelina’s is one of the few restaurants in the U.S. that holds a VPN (Vera Pizza Napoletana) certification. The fan-favorite Diavola comes with a generous portion of spicy Napoletana-style salami, mozzarella, and basil, but for those craving something more simple, the margherita and the marinara are both excellent choices." - Cathy Park

Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine is one of those rare gems that surprises you — in the best way — every time. Even on a random weeknight, it’s packed, and for good reason. The vibe is electric, the outdoor seating is adorable (complete with heat lamps), and the menu is refreshingly different from your typical Italian spot. Let’s talk food. I’m usually not drawn to Italian unless there’s a Caesar salad, and this one completely delivered — perfectly dressed with a generous amount of anchovies and topped with one of the best grilled salmon fillets I’ve ever had. Flaky, flavorful, and done just right. We started with their pillowy focaccia, which is a must, and then made our way through a spread that had something for everyone. The girls shared a pink sauce pasta with a side of steak (gone in minutes) and a simple butter pasta that hit the spot. My husband built his own pizza — no sausage, but added mushrooms, black truffle, and burrata — and it was outstanding. The crust is ultra-thin, just like in Italy, and when paired with their house chili oil, it’s game over. If you’re craving classic pesto or a creamy white sauce, this isn’t your spot — but if you’re up for fresh, chef-driven Italian with a twist, Angelina’s is where you want to be. And the cocktails? While there’s no formal cocktail program, they have some of the best bartenders around. These are the kinds of people who know their spirits, craft with intention, and surprise you with every pour. They’re the ones who introduced me to Monkey 47 and serve one of the best Last Words (yes, with Green Chartreuse!) I’ve ever had. Then there’s Luca, our incredible server from Tuscany. His warmth and honesty made the night even better. I’m super picky, and he didn’t just recommend dishes — he described exactly what to expect and made sure everything was spot-on. His care elevated the whole experience. We ended the night on a high note with their cheesecake — rich yet light, with a graham cracker crust and a hint of lemon zest that brought the perfect brightness to each bite. Angelina’s has officially won us over. Great food, thoughtful service, standout cocktails, and a vibe that keeps pulling you back. We’ll definitely be back soon.

This Italian restaurant is beautiful, and has great ambiance. The food is delicious and the service is great. We ordered the burratina, which came with prosciutto, arugula and pears, it was amazing! The fetuccini bolognese was also great. The pappardelle was not exactly how I expected it, but the meat was very tender.

Just came back from dinner tonight and I am getting giddy for writing up. We are fans of Bottega Angelina for awhile but didn't realize Angelina Pizzeria is an older sister restaurant. 1. Capricciosa pizza is delicious. Ingredients are fresh and high-quality. Neapolitan-style pizza is acquired taste, the chef can accommodate for extra crispy if you request. 2. Caesar salad is delicious, crisp and creamy. It can use alittle more citrus to brighten up. 3. Taglierini a la Vongole is outstanding. Love the homemade Taglierini. Clam and shrimp are fresh, taste and flavors are spot on. No fishiness, no sand, no shell debris. 4. Penne Al Pomodoro with add-on meatballs is simply delicious. The sauce is bright red but not acidic nor greasy, well balanced with "true" tomato flavor and sweetness. The meatballs are to die for, tender and moist packed with big punch of "meat" flavors. 5. Tiramisu is very good, the cream and lady fingers layers are well integrated together. However, i didn't get the robust espresso flavor. Otherwise, I would consider it the best Tiramisu in town. The service is outstanding. Chris is awesome. It is a nice touch to have a manager stopping by for a chat. We really have a great dining experience and definitely will come back.

I’m absolutely impressed by this restaurant. I have dined there and ordered takeout, and both experiences have been great! For Valentine’s Day, my husband and I ordered pizza for takeout. In the notes, I asked for a heart-shaped pizza without knowing if they would accommodate the request—and they did! It was so cute and delicious!

I think the name has always kept me away, because I thought it was just a pizzeria. This place offers way more than pizza! The outside, like the name, is very understated. When you walk in, you recognize this place is upscale! The music, the lighting, the ambiance was perfect for a nice dinner (inside temp was warm and needed to be cooler, kind of uncomfortable). The service was very good. Our server, Adrian, made very good recommendations and even comped our dessert because it was our first time there. The menu offers a variety of pizzas, pasta, and protein. I chose the linguine with clams and was not disappointed! The serving size was perfect.... actually, it was so good that I wanted more! I HIGHLY recommend this place. Outdoor seating is also available, where you can enjoy the cool night air.

As a big fan of Neapolitan-style pizza, I couldn’t resist trying Angelina's. I chose the Burrata e Tartufo pizza, while my husband went for the Diavola. To my surprise, the pizzas were larger than I expected, and mine was absolutely delightful—perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. The truffle was subtle yet distinct, adding just the right touch without being overpowering. I loved every bite and will definitely be coming back just for that pizza!

It’s Sunday 18th of May, 4 pm, we were party of 8 from the same family hoping to have good time at Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana, Irvine center drive, as the internet bloggers makes us dreaming of this extraordinary experience. BUT… all began with bad welcoming from the reception who had issues because we are 8 persons, while the place was almost empty! But this lady from the reception came and apologized for not being welcoming us at the beginning. OK.. not encouraging start. Now, it’s time with the worst experience with the waiter Eduardo (he said that it’s his name), when my brother in law asked the waiter for some items in the happy hour menu. He replied with a smile that the happy hour menu is applicable only for patio and bar not the main restaurant; while the menu was the general menu for the restaurant! They can simply provide a separate small paper (menu) about this special happy hour special offer! My brother in law told him that he will have the chosen item at the patio, we were surprised tha the waiter sarcastically smiled and says that he can’t do that! He was really rude albeit the drawn smile on his face. My brother in law told the family that he will not order anything from the place because of this treatment! And because the rest of us was hungry, we decided to order minimal order like pizza and pasta. Because of this waiter’s act, we decided not yo have a drink, order minimal food, not to have dessert. While leaving, my brother in law told the lady at the reception about this incident, she said we are sorry… that’s it!!! We too… we are sorry, we will not come again to Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana. By the way, the food was ok, nothing special!!

Loved the ambience and service. We ordered Spinach and Ricotta Raviolo - 3.5, the quantity disappointed and I felt spinach flavour was lost in cheese and sauce. Vegana Pizza - 4/5, one of the best on the menu. Margherita - 4/5, loved the pizza. I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a fine dine experience. Penne Al Pomodoro e Basilico - 3/5

Yelp
I unfortunately wrote an unfair scathing review. I am resending my original opinion-- & have reconsidered and changed my comments-- which were NOT fair at all. Alessandro, the General Manager has made it right for me, by resolving issues. He is kind, understanding, professional and generous. please ignore the previous review. many thanks

Yelp
We come here every year for a family dinner and it never disappoints! The cocktails were great and burrata appetizer was absolutely delicious! We each ordered a different dish but the calzone stood out as a favorite. Our server Peyton made great recommendations and provided excellent service. Perfect ambiance for a date night, drink at the bar or group meal. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Pasta & pizza are amazing! Buttttt my absolute favorite is the tiramisu! OMG HANDS DOWN, THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!!

Yelp
While the food at this pizza joint is nothing short of exceptional, it's almost tragically overshadowed by the glaring service and overall neglect of customer care. Let's start with the basics: I entered the restaurant around midday, excited for the culinary experience, only to be met with a completely disorganized front. Staff stood by the door, chatting and completely ignoring my presence, leaving me to wait for a good 15 minutes before someone from the back finally emerged and, with an air of casual nonchalance, said, "Oh, I didn't see you." It's as if I had entered a parallel dimension where basic customer service is a foreign concept. Now, to the food, which, let's be clear, is amazing. The pizza itself--crispy, with just the right amount of char, toppings that seem to harmonize in perfect balance--deserves every accolade it gets. The dough is airy, the sauce a burst of flavor, and the cheese (vegan or not) has that perfect melt. But then, sadly, the true nightmare begins. The level of attention--or, rather, lack thereof--provided by the staff is appalling. In one particular instance, our waiter, who appeared to be completely unphased by any sort of hygiene protocol, spent an unreasonable amount of time petting customers' dogs (which, for the record, are allowed in the restaurant). But here's the kicker: after fondly scratching the dogs' fur, he proceeded to serve food and drinks *without washing his hands*. His "dirty paws" were handling our plates, glasses, and silverware. As if that wasn't disturbing enough, the food came with a side of unease. Hygiene should never be optional, and this incident alone made me lose all appetite. To top it off, we had to move our table outside due to the sheer amount of smoke that began accumulating inside the restaurant. Apparently, the pizza oven exhaust system is malfunctioning. When we pointed this out, the waitress casually shrugged and said, "Oh yeah, we haven't been able to figure out what the issue is." This is more than an inconvenience--it's a safety hazard. A building filled with smoke and poor air quality is, quite frankly, a lawsuit waiting to happen. In the end, the pizza, despite being stellar, couldn't redeem the complete lack of professionalism. The staff's disinterest in customers, the hygiene oversight, and the obvious safety issue all made for a dining experience that I'd rather forget. A great meal should never be overshadowed by a lack of basic care, and this place is, sadly, an example of how service can ruin an otherwise fantastic culinary offering. Would I return? Doubtful, and that's truly unfortunate. If I do... saving my clothing from the downpour of charred wood and would dress down for the occasion.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday evening and it was surprisingly not busy at all. The interior of this place is super modern and clean. Beautiful bar section. We ordered the calamari fritter, and burrata e tartufo pizza and the calabrese pizza. The calamari was very good, the batter was on the lighter side. If you like your calamari super crispy I'd say pass but we enjoyed the light batter. Solid 8/10 The calabrese pizza was okay. Great flavors but the sauce they put on was just too much, and the pizza turned out soggy and hard to eat. The spicy sausages on this pizza were delicious. I wish they put less sauce on this one because the flavors were good, but it was just hard to eat because of how wet the pie was. 6.5/10 The burrata e tartufo pizza was delicious. Everything stayed on the slice, and the flavors all worked. The burrata cheese and the black truffles make this pie so rich in flavor without any sauce and the cherry tomatoes, basil and arugula give it that slight sweetness and bitterness that offsets the richness. I'd come back just to order this pizza again. 9.5/10

Yelp
Angelina's Pizzeria is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food. They have a gorgeous wine wall and some amazing looking cocktails as well. As a non-drinker, I was hoping for some sparkling water, but sadly the server said they only have large bottles and no one else wanted any, so I had to pass. It would be nice if they offered small sized sparkling water options. I ordered the gnocchi and was so excited. I love gnocchi! I was a bit disappointed to see it was more of an appetizer portion at an entree price. I don't have a huge appetite, but this was even too small of a portion for me. The flavors however were delicious. Lastly, I shared the tiramisu and it was divine! They even thought of the presentation, which was on the large chef board with powdered sugar. I was luckily enough to have a little leftover for later and it was good the 2nd time around too! I'm looking forward to trying Angelina's again because the service was fantastic and the ambiance was great. Looking to try their pizza next time!

Yelp
We stopped for an early dinner at Angelina's in Irvine. The ambiance was pleasant and the background music alive and motivational. Marcelo was our outstanding server and bartender. We started with a glass of Barolo Vino and the polpette al sugo (meatbals)l and focaccia bread appetizer which was delicious. Next we decided to try the melanzane alla parmigiana (eggplant) appetizer which was also fantastic. Marcelo was attentive and quite professional. We then ordered entrees with my wife having the penne al pomodoro e basilico with meatballs and I had the fettuccine bolognese. The food, service and ambiance was excellent. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We loved the ambiance and the food was excellent! I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as walk-ins may face a wait. The reservation process requires a credit card. Angelina's is one of the few restaurants in the U.S. with a Vera Pizza Napoletana Certification, which caught my attention, and the pizza lived up to our expectations! I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but we didn't receive any special touches, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a solid experience, and we finished off the meal with an amazing cappuccino.

Minelie A.

Yelp
I visited a charming, laid-back restaurant for some great pizza. While the prices were a bit high, the quality and atmosphere made it worth it. The staff was incredibly friendly, but our experience was briefly disrupted by two young women at a nearby table who were talking excessively loud. Their non-stop conversations about family and friends were audible to everyone, and it was amusing to see how other tables were subtly trying to signal them to quiet down without directly saying anything. Thankfully, we were able to switch tables, which made the experience much more pleasant. Overall, it was a great spot, aside from that minor inconvenience!

Ivi K.

Yelp
Last came here in Jan 2020, and remember it was delicious. Unfortunately, sadly had a very different experience this time. Came here for my birthday dinner which we noted when booking our reservation. But no acknowledgement of that was made. No verbal "happy birthday." Even like a little candle in a dessert at the end would've been a nice touch. Was kinda bummed this didn't happen. Anyways, our waitress seemed a little annoyed by our questions and seemed kinda short with us afterwards. At the very least she was NOT happy and it was noticeable. Kinda a downer on our dine-in experience. She did seem busy but it also did take her extra long in bringing anything out to us. Our food took a reallyyy long time to come out. Our waitress later said it was due to the length of time it takes to cook the chicken but it would've been nice to know a little in advance. I got the roasted potatoes and chicken with mushrooms, broccolini, and carrots. My husband got the lobster ravioli. His portion looked like a kid's sized dish. It also would've been nice to get a heads up about the extremely small size of the dish when he placed his order. He was definitely still hungry afterwards and would've ordered more food if I didn't give him my food. We bought agreed the lobster ravioli seemed a bit undercooked and wasn't the greatest in taste or flavor. Onto my dish, the mushrooms were the best part. There was some kind of orange sauce covering half the plate which I assumed was perhaps for dipping the chicken or veggies in? But this sauce was pretty terrible. Hubby agreed. The chicken itself was a pretty good sized portion and parts of it were delicious. The dish however was not consistently delicious in everything that was on the plate which lowered our overall satisfaction with it. Even the Diet Coke my husband ordered seemed over iced and over watered. They just didn't really quite get anything right or even okay. We both ordered a Nutella cappuccino which I had when I was here four years ago and they were sooo delicious I remember having at least three. However, much like everything else, they fell short. We would say they were either mediocre or not impressive. Waited an especially long time to pay at the end. Wanted to tip less because of our poor experience but felt bad cause the lowest suggested tip amount was calculated at 18% so I went with that instead. This restaurant did not meet our expectations and we would probably not come here again or recommend it to anyone we know. Sad because I had such fond memories of this place previously but the quality has since declined greatly. I guess a lot can change in 4 years. I hope if I ever come here again, it'll be a lot better.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Decent enough Italian restaurant in OC, just be prepared to pay for it. Also took a while to get focaccia which we ordered when we sat down because we were feeling low blood sugar. Potato gnocchi was $26 for 9 gnocchi, yeah we actually counted -- was it good? Sure. But not $3 per gnocchi good. Pizza was the highlight, perfect crust and we got the truffle one that was super delicious. Branzino was well cooked (I mean you're paying close to $50 so it better be). It's not located at the Spectrum in case you were hoping to walk around or shop after, but it is a close enough drive.

Diya S.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza!!! I can understand why they have a top 50 designation. The crust was perfectly chewy and had a great flavor. Beet salad was also really good (for a healthier option)

Han L.

Yelp
It's not bad, but not great. For the price point, there's better pizza. Don't get the seafood pasta.

Victor S.

Yelp
This place is straight cheeks lmfao all the negative reviews are spot on.. come here if you wanna get a disappointing meal lol I will say the service is not bad and ambiance is nice but that's it

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Wow! My first time here and everything was soooo delicious! I was just raving with every bite. We started with two happy hour items right before HH ended at 6pm. We got the Brussel sprouts and the flatbread. The Brussel sprouts were probably the best I've ever had! It's a 6/5! The flatbread was good but after trying the pizzas, I think I would rather just have pizza rather than the flatbread. Both pizzas were delicious. We loved them so much! The pasta was also very good with al dente pasta and a nice flavor, but again, compared to the pizzas, the pizzas win hands down! Ended the meal with a complimentary tiramisu for first time guests. It was such a nice surprise and it was both beautiful and tasty. Definitely worth ordering in the future. Service was excellent and the restaurant was nicely decorated.

Julie Y.

Yelp
My husband found this place randomly on Yelp so we thought of giving it a try since we were starving after our hike. Ambiance was nice & quiet & food did not disappoint. I was impressed by our server Luca. He was super friendly & gave us such a wonderful service! He topped us extra glass of champagne after the cut off time & best part to the end the meal was a complimentary dessert just because! Thank you so much Luca for your kindness & generosity!

Maxine T.

Yelp
Usually great experience with manager around to ask how is everything. Not sure what happened tonight. Male host did not acknowledge or greet us. Was distracted with other customers until a female hostess came to finally help. She was great. Then our server brought entree very late after everything else. Quality of food is still ok but service has diminished so I won't be coming again anytime soon.

Sophie T.

Yelp
As a big fan of Neapolitan-style pizza, I couldn't resist trying Angelina's. I chose the Burrata e Tartufo pizza, while my husband went for the Diavola. To my surprise, the pizzas were larger than I expected, and mine was absolutely delightful--perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. The truffle was subtle yet distinct, adding just the right touch without being overpowering. I loved every bite and will definitely be coming back just for that pizza!

Yelp
Great spot near the Spectrum! We got calamari, caprese salad, and pizza diavola. The calamari was yummy, lightly breaded with delicious sauces. The caprese was a classic, fresh quality ingredients seemed to be a staple! The pizza was good, the crust nicely crunchy yet soft and the pizza itself is quite thin. The service was great, Peyton was our server and she was efficient for what we needed. The store manager also came out and asked how our meals were so that was a nice personal touch. We sat outdoors, it was a great vibe! They have heaters and comfy outdoor seating. Give it a try!

Dave L.

Yelp
We were so excited to go to Angelinas to have genuine wood fired pizza. The location is wonderful, there are tables outside and a beautiful interior. Our host was very friendly as we sat down inside near the pizza ovens. I noticed they have probably the most employees I have seen for a such a small restaurant. Service was excellent. The chef was very friendly and we talked about the pizzas. We ordered one pasta dish, two pizzas and a side salad. The Cesar salad came and we were surprised. They used the bitter, yellow, inner part of the lettuce. There were only a microscopic amount of croutons, no chicken, and very little salad dressing. It was bland and slightly bitter. Okay, the kind waiter, changed the salad for a leaf salad. That is what we got. A small plate of leaves with very little balsamic dressing. This restaurant is not CPK. Our bill was over $100 so we expect a quality salad. This was a let down. The pasta was a very small portion and dry. This is a $36 meal and it's too small to share. Look at the picture. The pizzas were good, expect the ingredients were minimal on top. The taste was excellent. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and was shocked to find the water that came out of the faucet was ice cold. Not to mention the place was a mess. With all their employees no one cleans up the washrooms? I mentioned it to the manager, and she said it's a mechanical problem. The water heater goes out once in a while. With both our issues, the salad and the bathroom, I would think they would do something or say something to make it right. The pizza is the star. The ovens are amazing. The atmosphere is good, but the food value makes it a tough place for me to return to. Maggianos and North Italia are still the kings of this kind of North Italian cuisine.

Debi R.

Yelp
Another last-minute dinner that turned out wonderfully! The service was incredible. Dinner was delicious. And dessert was decadent! This is a great spot and I can't believe it took us this long to try it! We will definitely be back!

David ..

Yelp
I did a takeout for my wife's birthday. She pre-ordered 3 dishes, pizza Calabrese, some sort of seafood pasta with chopped shrimp, not whole shrimp, and clamps and a meat ball dish. Added Tiramisu. All came out to astounding $155. Pizza was pitiful, blackened crust, salty whatever was in the pizza, and the seafood pasta, really chopped shrimp pieces all for over $40? Salty meat balls. Not planning to visit this place for a long time. The North is eons better.

Steve D.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday with our family and had a great time. We got exception service and really had a wonderful time. My favorite dish is their secret dish (Alfredo pasta). We'll be back for the pizza next time as everything was so delicious. Thanks so much for everything.

Jacob S.

Yelp
I think the 4 star average on Yelp right now is about right. Went for a work lunch with the team - no reservation and were seated quickly. The wait staff were polite and efficient. The focaccia bread was serviceable but didn't have anything to set it apart. The pizza wasn't my favorite but it was pretty good. The dough was perfect, but the toppings were hit or miss. I got the prosciutto but neither the meat nor the sauce stood out. No-one in the party complained but nobody had any particularly good to say. Seemed like an expensive option for "just ok" pizza. They did seem to have a lot more options for dinner and we didn't touch the substantial drink menu, so I'm leaving a 4*. The outside seating was comfortable and made for a good place for conversation.

Angela L.

Yelp
Takeout to skip the line. Checking out was easy and quick. The pizza we got stayed delicious and they nicely packed the salad so that the various dressings stayed separate and did make the salad soggy.

Julie N.

Yelp
Amazing Italian restaurant in Irvine! Makes me feel like I just came back to Italy! My friend and I were looking for an upscale pizza joint to celebrate her birthday and I came across Angelina's. The pizza was a recommendation from the waiter as he says the Diavola is the best seller. It's a red sauce pizza with mozzarella and salami. The flavors were delicious, the pizza crust itself was very fluffy, and I like that the crust wasn't burnt The carbonara was delicious as well, though tastes like any other carbonara. We also ordered this lemon brunch drink which I forget the name of but was delicious too Overall would recommend this place!

Loralyn N.

Yelp
This might be my new favorite OC pizza place. My friends and I came here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we were sat on the patio. First of all, I love the seating. It was so comfortable, and I love the design choices. I also loved that they allowed our dogs with us at dinner. We started with the calamari which was fried really well. I love the lightness of the fry and the texture of the calamari. As for the pizza, I ordered the Burratta e Tartufo for myself which our waitress commented that was her favorite. I love a pizza with thin crust and with tons of stuff on top, so this was definitely my kind of pizza. The freshness of the ingredients and the quantity and flavor for a sauceless pizza was fantastic. I loved everything about it. Next time I come here, I'd definitely love to sit inside because I know the inside is beautiful. I'd also love to get this pizza again. Overall, my friends and I had a great night. Such a great pizza spot!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana, and it was an experience worth sharing. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that enhances the dining experience. We started with the "Saporita" pizza, featuring Napoletana-style sausage, gorgonzola cheese, mozzarella di bufala, and fresh basil. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors, with the rich gorgonzola perfectly complementing the savory sausage. The mozzarella di bufala added a creamy texture, while the basil provided a fresh finish. In the mood for pasta, I requested an Arrabiata Spaghetti with mushrooms, basil, and garlic--though not on the menu, the chef made it wonderfully. The dish was perfectly seasoned, with a lovely balance of heat from the arrabiata sauce and the earthy flavors of the mushrooms. We also ordered a children's penne pasta with pink sauce, which was so delicious that our 3-year-old devoured it with gusto. The sauce was creamy and flavorful, making even the simplest dish a standout. For dessert, we indulged in the pistachio gelato. It was evident that this was authentic gelato, with its off-colored hue and rich, nutty flavor. Each spoonful was a testament to the quality ingredients and craftsmanship behind it. The staff at Angelina's were just as wonderful as the food. From the warm welcome by the hostess to the attentive service from our waiter, everyone made us feel right at home. Overall, Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana is a must-try. Whether you're a local or just visiting the area, I highly recommend stopping by. The exceptional food, beautiful decor, and outstanding service make it a dining experience you won't want to miss.

Victoria P.

Yelp
A little bit on the pricier side for pizza, but overall a great spot for Neapolitan pizza. The indoor ambience, decor and aesthetics is great for date night. Pizzas are shareable, but closer to a personal serving size. Service was great. It can get quite busy doing rush hours. Would recommend making a rsvp or coming in on off hours.

Victoria O.

Yelp
I recently visited Angelina's and it was a fantastic experience. The elegant ambiance, complete with soft lighting and modern decor, set the perfect tone for an elevated dining experience. The menu went beyond the typical pizza offerings, featuring artisanal ingredients and creative combinations that were both delicious and beautifully presented. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall atmosphere was sophisticated yet welcoming. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, Angelina's is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy gourmet pizza in a refined setting.

Yelp
We had an event here on Thanksgiving day. Total of 12 ppl. All of the food items we ordered were delicious. The only complaint was that our server seemed a bit "lost" and missed a couple of items here and there. However, we felt bad for him having to be there on Thanksgiving, thus still gave him a good tip. At least he was very friendly and tried to be efficient. It seemed he didn't have enough help that day. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with Christmas decorations. Definitely come back again.

Yelp
I met some friends at the restaurant after not going there for a few years. The service was not good at all. The waitress was not friendly, never smiled and was not nice. The food was okay. There are so many choices in OC that provide great customer service & have good food.

Yelp
We have been to Angelina's a few times! First trip was a salad and Margarita pizza it was amazing! We couldn't resist our second time we ordered the same. This place is my favorite in OC! Don't trust me look at their press! USA Today ranked them top 50 in the country. OC register and LA times have written about them as well. Next time if I can resist my temptation for their pizza, I will try some other culinary delights. Thanks Angelinas god doing it right!! PS service was amazing, good wine menu! Very busy so be irritated for a wait or make a reservation

Yelp
Most disappointing dining experience I've had in a long time. If this place is still open in a year, then it must be a money laundering operation, because this quality of food for these prices can't mutually exist. We went on a Saturday at 6pm. It was only half full which doesn't surprise me at all after tasting the food and seeing the prices. We started with the meatball app. They call it Polpette al Sugo so they can charge $26 for 3 small meatballs. It was pretty good honestly, but good for $12, not $26. We also had the focaccia to start with which didn't taste fresh. I worked at an Italian restaurant that made fresh focaccia which was WAY better than this place. And it was free. This focaccia is definitely not worth $9 that's for sure. Then it got really bad with the main course. My wife had the lobster ravioli. They call it Ravioli All'aragosta so they can charge $38 for it. It was TERRIBLE. Way overcooked and the filler was bland. If you're gonna charge near $40 for a few ravioli that has lobster in it, at least make it taste good so people don't feel like they're getting ripped off. Imagine over cooking ravioli so much that it sticks to the pan. Then drowning it in mediocre sauce thinking people won't notice it's overcooked. Of course we noticed! Nothing good about this dish. I swear I wouldn't pay $5 for these raviolis. Then we had a Calabrese pizza. I've never had a pizza so soggy that I had to eat it with a fork and knife until eating this. I don't think pizza should be stiff like a cracker like Dave Portnoy does, but I should at the very least be able to pick it up. The taste was just ok. The only good thing we had was the tiramisu, but unfortunately it took over 20 minutes to come out. We ordered our tiramisu, then witnessed the table next to us order all their food and get all their appetizers before our premade tiramisu came out. Luckily our waiter realized how long it took and had it taken off the bill. Steve our server was good. Desert was good. Ambiance was decent. Main courses were trash. I'll never ever be back. I feel like a lot of people have been here that feel the same based on how slow it was on a Saturday evening. Polpette al Sugo - 3.5/5 Focaccia Al Rosmarino - 2/5 Ravioli All'aragosta - 0/5 Terrible! Calabrese pizza - 2.5/5 Tiramisu - 4.5/5

Yelp
A really cute authentic Italian restaurant. The service was really nice. The manager came and greeted us and asked how we were doing. Alvaro was very kind and answered all our questions regarding the menu. The burrata cheese was delicious. It falls apart in your mouth. Tiramisu was so soft and sweet.

Yelp
Service was great however the food was not great! The caprese salad came with no seasoning at all: no salt, no pepper, no olive oil, no balsamic vinegar. Also the tomatoes were not ripe and were cut in huge thick slices. The pizza was soggy in the middle and had way too much onion on it. The prices for this food was way too much for the lack of quality. In addition they served us wine in crazy huge glasses and very little wine in the glass although the wine was good. Overall not the experience I had hoped for on date night with my husband.

Yelp
Pizza good Caesar salad good Gnocchi and ravioli BEYOND OVERPRICED FOR THE PORTION SIZE Would probably not go back because of the feeling of having been ripped off so badly!!

Yelp
Expensive food, small portions and indifferent service from Peyton. With so many excellent Italian restaurants nearby, avoid this one unless you want to pay outrageous prices, receive mediocre service and still leave hungry.

Yelp
I live within 5 min of Angelina's. Picked up a margarita pizza and the eggplant parmigiana last night and immediately sat down for dinner. While the eggplant dish was pretty warm, the pizza was cold, as if someone had just taken out of the refrigerator. I have no doubt that the pizza had been sitting outside or in a refrigerator for quite some time. Very disappointed.

Yelp
My son and I have visited Angelina's Pizzeria twice now, and each time we've ordered the same delicious meals. I went with the Boscaiola pizza and a glass of wine, while my son opted for the classic pepperoni and a lemonade. Having tried pizza from all over the world, I can say that Angelina's stands out for its incredible dough and the freshness of its toppings--truly garden-fresh! The portions are generous, especially with the wine, which is a refreshing change from some places that skimp on their pours. The entire staff, from the hostess to the general manager, makes you feel right at home, providing exceptional service that makes you feel like part of the restaurant's family. The manager even stopped by our table to ensure everything was perfect. This attention to detail and customer care makes Angelina's a standout, and it's well on its way to becoming our favorite pizza spot in town. All that said, I don't leave a lot of reviews, so thank you Angelina's you earned this one, for the fantastic service (which I should add was very quick) and outstanding food!

Yelp
We celebrated our son's graduation from college with a dinner party of 30 people, and we had the most unbelievable food and service!!! Bret Pfost (general manager) could not have been more accommodating and patient with me throughout the process!! Definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be regulars!!!

Yelp
Nice evening to sit on the patio. Steve was great - helpful but not pushy. The Saporita pizza and side salad were both wonderful!

Yelp
Angelina's is absolutely delightful and delicious! There's a lot of good food in Irvine, but this is a spot I definitely want to go back to. My chicken entree was some of the best cooked chicken I've ever had; it was a huge cut that was succulent and juicy. I was a bit worried about it being flavorless since I got the Calabrese sauce on the side, but even without it the taste was decadent. The salumi board and cheeses were also a hit, as was the burrata. I definitely stuffed myself with cheese and do not regret it in the slightest. I will say my drink wasn't the most exciting, but for one drink I definitely felt like there was a good amount of alcohol in it. Service, especially with drunks was also a little bit slow and they were bringing out drinks 1-2 at a time, but we had a large party on a week night and it looked like the bar only had one worker so it wasn't a big deal, I am understanding of that! All in all I really liked this spot and want to try more of their menu.

Yelp
Wanted to get some good italian food after having a meeting in Irvine. Stumbled to Angelina a couple of days ago. Service was non existent. I was sitting outside and it seems that I was forgotten. Ordered the calamari and it wasnt fresh at all. It tasted bland....only good thing was the arugula that was on the plate. Ordered pasta with red sauce and added chicken. This was meh.... Wont be coming back....

Yelp
The food is great! I should have dined in but we ordered to go. The marg pizza was everything I wanted it to be. I am a lover of Napolitano pizzas and it hit the spot.

Yelp
Pizzas are SOOO good. Highly recommend the pizzas. Service is a bit slowly though. Been back many times and will be back again soon!

Yelp
We showed up for our business lunch reservation and couldn't get in!! There was a swarm of bees that was hanging around and on the front door. So I called and they told us that someone was on the way and then directed us around the back to enter through basically the garbage area. Inside it was smoky - at first I thought they had burnt a pizza but then I realized they were keeping the bees from entering. Anyway ... the Queen bee (hostess) sat us promptly, the field bees promptly filled our water glasses and kept them full, and the worker bees took our orders and delivered our items with efficiency. The pizzas and pastas were well made and flavorful. The staff easily accommodated a dietary restriction one person in our party had. The place buzzed with conversation (pun intended) but was never too loud for easy conversation. Prices seem a tad high for the size of what you get (thus 4 stars vs 5) but I would certainly go again. the wine list looked pretty good, but since it was a work lunch I behaved myself and refrained from drinking the nector. Next time though ...

Yelp
Overrated. Ambience and service great. Food meh. Got the marinara pizza (suggested by the waiter for our 9 yr old daughter), burrata, and beef tartare. Got 2 bloody mary's. Total was over $100. Food had no presentation you can tell this chef did not care about it at all. Its only saving grace is the drinks which is disappointing bc the food should be the main event.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night with 2 girlfriends. The place was really busy, the parking lot was pretty full. We sat outside under a heater. The server was really nice and friendly and attentive. We didn't order an appetizer but went straight to entrees. We had side salads and I ordered the seafood pasta. My friend ordered the bolognese and my other friend ordered the pizza. We also ordered a bottle of wine that we shared between the 3 of us. Overall, happy with the experience. The food was good but kind of pricey. The house bottle of wine was also kind of pricey.
