While the food at this pizza joint is nothing short of exceptional, it's almost tragically overshadowed by the glaring service and overall neglect of customer care. Let's start with the basics: I entered the restaurant around midday, excited for the culinary experience, only to be met with a completely disorganized front. Staff stood by the door, chatting and completely ignoring my presence, leaving me to wait for a good 15 minutes before someone from the back finally emerged and, with an air of casual nonchalance, said, "Oh, I didn't see you." It's as if I had entered a parallel dimension where basic customer service is a foreign concept.
Now, to the food, which, let's be clear, is amazing. The pizza itself--crispy, with just the right amount of char, toppings that seem to harmonize in perfect balance--deserves every accolade it gets. The dough is airy, the sauce a burst of flavor, and the cheese (vegan or not) has that perfect melt. But then, sadly, the true nightmare begins.
The level of attention--or, rather, lack thereof--provided by the staff is appalling. In one particular instance, our waiter, who appeared to be completely unphased by any sort of hygiene protocol, spent an unreasonable amount of time petting customers' dogs (which, for the record, are allowed in the restaurant). But here's the kicker: after fondly scratching the dogs' fur, he proceeded to serve food and drinks *without washing his hands*. His "dirty paws" were handling our plates, glasses, and silverware. As if that wasn't disturbing enough, the food came with a side of unease. Hygiene should never be optional, and this incident alone made me lose all appetite.
To top it off, we had to move our table outside due to the sheer amount of smoke that began accumulating inside the restaurant. Apparently, the pizza oven exhaust system is malfunctioning. When we pointed this out, the waitress casually shrugged and said, "Oh yeah, we haven't been able to figure out what the issue is." This is more than an inconvenience--it's a safety hazard. A building filled with smoke and poor air quality is, quite frankly, a lawsuit waiting to happen.
In the end, the pizza, despite being stellar, couldn't redeem the complete lack of professionalism. The staff's disinterest in customers, the hygiene oversight, and the obvious safety issue all made for a dining experience that I'd rather forget. A great meal should never be overshadowed by a lack of basic care, and this place is, sadly, an example of how service can ruin an otherwise fantastic culinary offering. Would I return? Doubtful, and that's truly unfortunate. If I do... saving my clothing from the downpour of charred wood and would dress down for the occasion.
