"With a sleek, enchanting new tasting room in Amity, Antica Terra is a must-stop on your next visit to the Willamette Valley. Visitors can taste through offerings from both Antica Terra and its California sister winery Lillian; unlike most tasting rooms, you’ll also find bottles intended to spark conversation and curiosity from Champagne, Sardinia, and beyond, all selected by winemaker Maggie Harrison. Stay for the candlelit, multi-course lunch from chef Timothy Wastell, which might include smoked sablefish rillettes, rabbit liver paté, and decadent, ribbon-like wisps of cheese served via girolle, a classic cheese curler." - Oset Babür-Winter

Mind blown. The grounds, the architecture, and the service were a fantastic foundation for an extra special tasting. The private tasting itself was held in the beautifully decorated wine seller. Guided by a very knowledgeable member of the team, we tasted a unique mix of local and non-local (mostly European) wines that were paired with incredible “snacks.” These snacks were Michelin quality bites that ranged from an exemplary crudités to a velvety rabbit pate. Reservations are a must! I would definitely return and bring friends. Highly, highly recommend.

Great and unique experience in amazing tasting room! Comparing with the other wines was a wonderful experience! Highly recommend this place. Little bit chilly so make your kids dress warm.

We were dazzled by our experience. For our tenth anniversary they had us at a long table to ourselves in a small cozy section of the warehouse. It was intimate, delightful and full of amazing flavors; food and wine alike. We were so into the experience we actually ate the raw oysters because they paired so well with the wine! Art was an amazing host and the wines presented, new and old, were stunning. We had many tastings over the course of our stay but this is still our number one.

Our tasting was held at the Black Walnut Inn just up the street as their winery was busy with harvest. The views were fantastic and the tasting table was very well set up. We tasted 4 different wines that were all to our liking and they all paired very well with the snacks laid out around the table.

Our last stop for the day. After visiting some beautiful vineyards throughout the day, we weren’t sure if it was the right place. Warehouse. I must say, you can’t judge anything by the cover of the book. We were impressed with the quality of wines they had…magical blend of grapes. Yes, we signed up for the wine club.

What a unique experience! We had some dietary preferences and they were great about accommodating them (I gave the information in advance). We had our own room, so it will was quiet and relaxing. The service was nice and the wines were really incredible. This is something you should do.

Google
Great wine tasting experience showcasing not only Antica Terra's wine library but also introducing other wines that they admire such as Sine Qua Non.

This was one of the most unique and exceptional tasting experiences we've had. The setting was perfect and intimate inside the barrel rooms. The food pairings were perfect. Most interesting of all, Antica Terra shares a sampling of their own wines along with several wines from other producers that serve as inspiration or excellent comparisons for their high quality offerings. We really valued tasting at a winery who has passion for both their own wine as well as other exceptional producers from around the world. We can not recommend this tasting experience more highly.

Yelp
AMAZING EXPERIENCE. My wife read about the winemaker in the New York Times and made a reservation for a tasting for our 9 year wedding anniversary. Having lived in california and experienced a lot of what Napa and Sonoma have to offer tasting wise this experience in my opinion far surpasses any other. The drive from Portland to Dundee early on a Saturday was pleasant but VERY foggy. Apparently it is always foggy in the mornings and the evenings so be prepared to take it slower than usual. We passed a sports car being towed out of a ditch on the way. When we arrived we were greeted by the valet and brought into the tasting room by the host. The building was a large open area industrial barn like structure lined with barrels of wine and lit candles. Each party had their own tasting table sections off my walls of wine barrels. The temp inside was as chilly as it was outside so be prepared to wear a sweater or your jacket. Our sommelier Casey was friendly and welcoming. We spent about 2 hours tasty and enjoying good conversation about their wines and the area. I have included pics of everything we enjoyed. Needless to say we will be going back to do their full lunch tasting the next chance we get. Highly recommend for a date or a small party. Six-8 people could fit in each area easily.

Yelp
It was my husband's Willamette Valley Birthday week extravaganza and I booked this place for the beginning out of winter tasting day. As we drove up, we thought we might be lost but then came Tynan walking out that front door and greeted us with the biggest smile! Well, we knew then we were at the right place. Tynan escorted us in and gave us a quick rundown. Yes, their warehouse is an actual working warehouse, yes there are people working in there, yes, the "tasting rooms" are very peculiar (walls lined with wine crates) and as we turned the corner a gorgeous room set up just for the two of us. Candles, a beautiful arrangement and two plate settings. Our experience was about to commence! We went through our glass of champagne to kick off the celebration and took some pictures. Tynan had excused himself and had made his way back with a large bowl full of delicious crudités and walawala onion delicious mf'ing dip! Then a couple of wines, then a delicate trout rillette (with a candy cap mushroom glacé and OEMGEE, this stuff is worth its weight in gold) and home made pickles, two more wines, then lastly a decadent membrillo beignet with this very dramatic shaved pimenton with this awesome gadget I'm gonna find and buy! DRAMA! Oh, yes and two more wines. What a great experience, truly the best in the valley. These guys procure THE BEST wines in the world and are experts! We truly left with our hearts (& bellies) FULL. Chef Timothy Wastell and Tynan knock it out of the park! Thank you for making this a truly memorable experience!

Yelp
When we had signed up for the Harvest Lunch at Antica Terra, we had no idea what to expect other than a wine tasting with a reasonable selection of vittles. We walked away from the experience having been completely blown away! The food here easily stands up to, if not exceeds, the standards we've come to expect only from Michelin starred restaurants. In hindsight, perhaps the hefty price tag ($195 per guest) might have telegraphed this, but it was a welcome surprise in any case. Every dish served in our private, moodily lit tasting room was impressive. To start, the fresh baked dill bread was fresh, the snacks all delightful (particularly the lamb tartare with caviar), and the crudité and salad plates tasted like the produce were harvested that morning. The highlight of the meal was the cedar roasted sablefish, the delicate fish seasoned beautifully with sweet, smoked miso. The oak roasted lamb was also delicious, but the cut was a bit tougher than we were expecting. The seasonal strawberry and elderflower pizzelle brought a tart and sweet end to the meal. Our sommelier, who also acted as our host and main server, was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the meal, and tried her best to give us wines best suited to our palate. Not being wine connoisseurs, we certainly didn't do her any favors in helping to select the best pairings. Overall, we thought the wines were fine, and did not purchase any for the ride home. If you find yourself in Portland, it is definitely worth the trip, and the price, to enjoy the Harvest Lunch at Antica Terra!

Yelp
The wine tasting was a delightful experience! The ambiance, food, wine and staff were top notch. Our personal sommelier, Art, was attentive, knowledgable and passionate about everything. He made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions without making us feel like novices. It's a little pricy, but we'll worth it

Yelp
My husband and I had an exceptional time at Antica Terra. I was referred by a work friend to make a reservation, which did not disappoint. I got a call from Molly within a day who talked about what we should expect. She asked questions to know more about us and answered mine with genuine thoughtfulness. She even sent a very curated follow up email with recommendations in nearby McMinnville which is where we stayed. Upon arrival, we were greeted and cared for by Casey. She clearly was passionate about the wine and the food. I can continue on but I think it's an experience that you should have for yourself. Cheers!

Yelp
With much anticipation and excitement we participated in a tasting. Just can't give it a 5 star. No question the wines were very nice but I personally feel they are not worth the hype and the expense. A plethora of exceptional pinots are coming out of the valley. The ambience was interesting but not great! Our server was no doubt knowledgeable but had a bit of an attitude and was a somewhat cold as was the temperature of the tasting room. During the tasting we were left alone a lot to ponder the fruit flies which provided some protein in our wine. The accompanying food was interesting but not great either. I think the wine comparisons was a gimmick to showcase their wine. Later we enjoyed a tasting at another winery and found the total experience as or even more enjoyable at a fraction of the cost. In any event, it was certainly something that had to be experienced in view of all the hype. Let's face it, it's not all about the wine!! Viva "ambiente"

Yelp
Amazing and a hint, don't judge a book by its cover! The place gives you a first-hand look at the operations of wine making and blows you away at the end of the tour with a very intimate and sweet wine tasting/dining room with some amazing wines. The hosts were top-notch people who spent as much time as we needed talking about the wines and just having a great hour talking with my party about themselves and their lives. I will forever be a fan. Thank you!

Janice R.

Yelp
Don't judge the book by the cover! We did the collective tasting with seven wines and some fantastic crudités. The winemaker is from Sine Qua Non and fell in love with the unique aspects of this property. We had an amazing time! Recommend doing a trial of the Ceras vs the Botanical to see your preferences wrt Pinots. A must do!

Yelp
The tasting experience for Thanksgiving weekend was apparently a departure from their normal format, one consisting of a tasting of futures at their communal table paired with delicious cured meats and bread. The winemaker herself, Maggie Harrison, kicked off the experience. She shared her experience with the most recent harvest and gave us a glimpse into her vision - clearly passionate about her work with an approach unique from many other wineries I've come across. While the chardonnay didn't suit my palate much, I was blown away by the depth of the rose and development of the 2015 pinot noirs at such a ridiculously young age. The prices were certainly steep at upwards of $150/bottle for the pinot, but my brother and I were confident enough to pick up a bottle to be released in 2018. That all said, the tasting experience itself was interesting with some groups of visitors running terribly late and bringing infants with them who were disruptive to the point where Maggie had to raise her voice to talk over them...

Yelp
This winery just continues to delight! Some friends and I did a tasting here a few years ago and loved it. This time we did a private dinner for 8 where they repeated their Sunday Supper for us on a Thursday. We tried 8 wines with close to that many food items. The addition of a chef to their amazing wine collection was brilliant. This place isn't cheap, but if you appreciate great wine, you need to make an appointment and try it out.

Yelp
Antica Terra provides the most exceptional wine tasting experience you can imagine. First off, the carefully curated wines from Oregon and Europe are exceptional. Yes, try the extended tasting that includes hard to find wines from around the world as well as a pairing with many Antica Terra wines from Oregon and Lillian wines from California. The wines are paired with caviar, foie gras and exceptional cheese plates. I have had numerous good experiences and love the wines. I have brought over forty friends for the experience. Five stars!

Yelp
Experienced the tasting last week and was hugely disappointed overall. So many amazing places to go... this place doesn't deserve to be on your B list. Or C list For the money, the pours were minuscule and the wines not memorable. If you are looking for an amazing experience with special unique wines don't go. When you are at a special wine tasting and the participants are pouring the wine into a spill bucket when they are only given a small sip... someone should be reading the audience....and regrouping. The food pairings were awkward, for a long table of 12 to put two small plates of the Iberico ham on each side with out a fork was just wrong. Also the ham was not sliced correctly and hardly a charcuterie stand out. This was way too pricey and afterwards you kind of feel foolish. Also the special most expensive wine was not poured and substituted for a lesser priced wine. Sheesh!

Yelp
Fantastic wines served in an industrial warehouse. Amongst the best wines in Oregon.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. It is worth the extra effort to make the appointment. We were helped by Tom who was knowledgeable, friendly and fun to talk with. Don't be scared by the appointment only, this was very casual and low pressure to buy. The wines are among the best we have tried in the area, especially the Pinot Noirs. They do several other varieties that are also superb and have other labels in their tasting flight making for a fun and varied experience. The flight is also paired with some delicious and well planned foods like iberico ham and cheeses. As good as the wines were, most of the fun was talking with Tom as he added lots of knowledge from his experience as a wine maker to the discussions about the wines. We ended up going home with a wide selection.

Yelp
We stopped in here on a recommendation of an individual who worked at another winery. The tasting fee was $15.00, glass not included and the spread was a bit simple for a special holiday weekend. The Chardonnay was a bit oaky for our taste. The rose was good. Their Pinot was also good. I think their Syrah was the most satisfying wine we tasted. However, we did not buy. Wines priced in the $75.00 to $100.00 range need to be extraordinary. These wines were merely good. I hope they do well, but they need to do something different to justify those prices.

Ramie M.

Yelp
Pros: Good wine, nice ambiance, nice staff. Cons: Weird to find since there is no sign.

Yelp
OMG...you MUST visit this place but you need to make an appointment. After leaving Domaine Serene, which was a beautiful property but a huge disappointment in the wine, we went to Antica Terra. My partner had learned about Antica last time we were in Willamette and desperately wanted to visit them. We had starting order their wine, which was excellent. The winemaker was a former Sine Qua Non winemaker in Napa, which is a huge cult wine. When we pulled up to the building, there wasn't a sign and it looked like an old office. In fact, we walked in, through the office, and I'm thinking, "what kind of place is this". The woman who greeted us was very nice and she told us to walk back to the tasting. We walked through a small storage facility for barrels into a narrow walkway in backroom. I already started catching the attitude like, what the hell kind of place is this and then....we get back into a room full of barrels with a long wooden table in the middle, a ladder hanging from the ceiling hung with cool lights, candles and dim lights with an iberico ham holder and I realized, this place is EXACTLY my kind of place. They serve only two Antica wines there (I believe that is all they make and have available) and then they serve baroloas, chardonnays from Napa, and different wines from around the world that they like their style of winemaking. What a cool concept. They also paired it with foie gras, cheese and the iberico ham. It was an awesome tasting experience and yes, the $75 - $90 wines are worth it there.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to Antica Terra as I have read about Maggie and her superb wines, and have tasted many. We did the 10am tasting, and waited 40 minutes for a party of 4 to arrive - with an additional three children under two years old. At the 20 minute mark, I asked what the grace period was, but our host Insisted on waiting. After the delay and the host trying to fill time, the tasting began. Maybe it was the noisy distracting kids in the small space (there are other wineries where there is space for kids- this is not one of them), maybe it was that the host spoke quickly and mumbled his words so he was difficult to understand, maybe it was that the wines we tasted could all be purchased at our local store so there was nothing unique or especially informative, but this was a big disappointment! I actually contemplated leaving mid-tasting. We have visited seven wineries in the Willamette Valley and each has been more spectacular than the next. But this was a waste of time.

Yelp
Just came back from Williamette valley. By far and away the highlight was the 1 pm wine tasting at Anticca Terra. Jeremy was our host and he presented both French and Anticca Terra wines with detailed explanations . There were great food tasting opportunities as well including foie gras. It was a memorable experience that I recommend to anyone who is in that area.

Yelp
Amazing!! Not your typical wine tasting, but a winery tasting experience!! Our host of the tasting, Ian, was brilliant. He lead us through a journey of not only the beautiful wines of Antica Terra, but of other exclusive wines from around the globe which showed a little insight into the winemaker's journey & inspiration. A definite must. The Botanica & Ceras are my favorites.
