On my quest to try all ramen places in Seattle, and Arashi Ramen popped up as a solidly rated place to go check out based on what community mentioned - so I decided to check another ramen restaurant off the list! We went on a Friday around 9pm and were seated promptly.
The interior of the restaurant is small and the seating arrangement is cozy and close in space to other diners - Most seats were either in the ramen bar area or in a two (and sometimes four) seating arrangement. Service is relatively fast as after ordering our ramens, we received them in about 10ish minutes - I haven't tried Arashi at a busier time, so I'll update sometime in a future review.
There were a bunch of interesting ramen places to try on the menu, and the one that popped out the most to me was the Arashi Ramen with the generous sounding amount of pork belly given. The broth of this ramen was more light than I expected, but it had a nice slightly salty but decent pork flavor. The charshu was really thinly sliced, like almost paper thin - I know this will be down to personal preference, but I'm a fan a slightly thicker cut charshu with more volume. But besides the thickness, I would say the charshu did have a no chew melt in your mouth quality that was enjoyable to eat. The ajitama egg had a nice marinade flavor, but I would have loved the whole egg rather than half. The noodles were chewy, and since they were thin noodles, they did catch the flavor of the broth better.
Overall, I spent about $19 for this bowl for this bowl of ramen - which is slightly on the steeper side in my opinion, as you can almost get an entire ramen combo (appetizer + ramen) at other establishments. A decent bowl of noodles if you are in the area and in the mood for some ramen.
