"Simply furnished and with a bohemian feel to it, this tapas bar sits inside a former chemist’s and features a vintage stainless steel counter. A concise menu offers tasty, authentic and generously portioned small plates, plus a couple of larger ones if you really want filling up. Cocktails and natural wines are available from the bar and there’s a busy, relaxed atmosphere about the place." - Michelin Inspector

"From the owners of Oli’s Thai, would-be hipsters and adventurous diners alike beat a path to this tapas bar, which offers an ever-changing menu of Spanish dishes. These range from old favourites done extremely well like chorizo or slow roasted pork belly with mojo verde, to innovative plates seldom seen outside of Spain. The cocido montañés is a particular delight. Seats can be hard to come by, but there’s normally space at the bar if waiting isn’t an issue." - Alexander Larman
Delicious meal! Kept our eyes on this place and finally planned to book a meal here for my fiancé's birthday, and didn't disappoint.
Lovely flavourful food. Was a very cool atmosphere, had a seat near the bar and got to see the chefs preparing the dishes.
Really loved the pork's cheek dish with crispy polenta. And the lavender panacotta with mango coulis was incredible too.
Also stayed after are booking for another cocktail at the bar.

Wow ! I love this restaurant , it really deserves Michelin recommendation , the food is absolutely delicious, the staffs were so kind to any customers from locals to tourists . If you visit this restaurant I would recommend everything on the pictures especially the dessert which I found so creamy and refreshing . Furthermore, it wasn’t too pricy as it was about 100 pounds for 4 people . Also the atmosphere was quiet and food was unbelievably quick as well !

Spent our first night at Oxford here. The food is amazing. My favorite, surprisingly, is the charred cabbage. It has a very complex flavor with the creamy puree and crunchy hazelnuts. Other tapa dishes are all good except the fried prawns. It was a bit too salty and the prawns were tiny. It may be a good dish to go with a bottle of cold beer. Overall, it was an outstanding dinner.

Perfect! Thank you so much for an amazing time. My friends and I stayed a bit late and they were very tactful in telling us to leave (we’re sorry). I will definitely go back. Food was perfect! Staff was amazing! Ambience was brilliant! I definitely recommend.

Pretty good little independent restaurant in Oxford. A must-try for Oxford foodies. The tortilla was my most favourite dish of the night, but the pork tenderloin was a very close second. Staff were nice. Lighting and ambience was good. Natural wine selection decent. Would happily go back

Delicious food, incredible service. We had most of the vegetarian options they do and each one was more delicious than the last. You must try the onion tortilla, it was incredible.
I would 100% recommend for everyone, the food arrives so quickly and you'll find you eat it much more quickly than that.
I would 100% recommend for vegetarians too, the foods available for us are significant and you can feel well fed on just these options alone.

Best restaurant in Oxford. I’ve been multiple times and the food never misses, and very reasonably priced for how insanely good it is. Arbequina is also the perfect dinner atmosphere - vibey but not too loud with perfect lighting. They’ve got great wine and cocktails. It gets booked up so reservations are required normally at least a couple of weeks in advance and often more, but they do accept walk-ins if you arrive at the right time and you’re happy sitting at the bar. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Had a wonderful brunch here! The tapas were as good as any we have found in Spain. The ambience was delightful. And the staff very friendly. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Such an incredible tapas restaurant in the more local and less touristy part of town. They have plenty of veggie options and the food is very fresh. The bread and dipping sauce where incredible and the leeks had this terrific topping with sesame seeds.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Oxford so far. Reasonably priced and their food is really good. Me and my friend ordered according to their recommendations, and the food all turned out to be delicious. They get busier as it gets later in the night, and they're often fully booked. They take walk ins for the bar, though.
They're also a sister restaurant of Oli's Thai.

Yelp
Best Tapas I've had in the UK. In fact best I've had anywhere, even Spain. This is a Cowley road gem. Great wine list, lots of lovely sherry too. Owned by Door 74 and Oli's Thai, wonderful bar, great choices, you will have to book or risk sitting at the bar, if there's room.

Yelp
My favourite restaurant on the Cowley Road by far; proper foodie food (and an excellent range); with excellent wines and whiskies -- definitely try the orange wine. Food is semi-tapas in style (without a specifically Spanish focus) and is all absolutely perfectly and wonderfully done. Definitely try the crispy chickpeas and the fried aubergine with pomegranate and molasses -- they sound weird but are an absolute delight. Service is always exemplary, although you may have to wait if you haven't booked. If you just turn up without a booking, definitely take the option to sit at the bar.

Yelp
Probably the best value restaurant in Oxford. From the outside it is very unpretentious - in fact its signage suggests a dispensing chemist. But once inside .... great service to accompany excellent food and brilliant wine. Highly recommended.
