10 Places to Find Great Bowls of Soup in Ann Arbor

"Budae Jjigae, or “army base soup” started as a necessity due to food scarcity in post-war Korea as locals used surplus food from American military bases. Locals took whatever they could find — often canned meats and hot dogs — to create this spicy soup that eventually became part of the national lexicon. Arirang’s version uses pork belly, ham, and sausage and is a highlight on a menu that already features more than a dozen other soups." - John Reyes

A Guide to Ann Arbor’s Best Korean Restaurants - Eater Detroit

"Budae jjigae is one of the most famous Korean stews and has a distinctly American origin. The name translates to “army stew” and features sliced Spam and hot dogs, two ingredients introduced by U.S. armed forces stationed in Korea during the Korean war." - John Reyes

My Go-To for Authentic Korean! Arirang is hands down the best Korean restaurant I've ever eaten at. Every dish bursts with rich, authentic flavors, and the best part is that it's all incredibly affordable. I've been here five times now, and each visit has been consistently impressive! My absolute favorite dishes are the Stone Bowl Squid Bibimbap, Japchae, Spicy Chicken, and the Kimchi Pancake. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Each one is packed with delicious, traditional taste. A special shout-out to Poom, one of the male servers. He's always so helpful with recommendations, incredibly nice, always smiling, and super efficient. The service here truly enhances the dining experience. If you're looking for delicious, authentic, and affordable Korean food, Arirang is a must-try! What's even better is that the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality you get.

Google
Ordered the spicy pork and kalbitang, and they were absolutely delicious! The side dishes were all amazing too—everything tasted so fresh and homemade. It really felt like eating a comforting home-cooked meal. Highly recommend!

Google
We used to love this place. Since new ownership, it is NOTHING like it used to be! Food tastes awful, portion sizes are 1/2 what they used to be. I tried calling to speak with someone about the food and a possible refund, they set the phone down and never came back. It’s just another one checked off the list not to go to anymore.

I think it's been over 2 years last time I was here and food and service are still great. One of my favorite Korean restaurants in Ann Arbor area. Bibimbap is on of my favorite. I would say it is a small size restaurant. Restaurant is very clean and well organized. Good atmosphere.

Google
The restaurant is under new management, and the food is really good. The wait time is reasonable, and the overall experience was enjoyable. Worth a visit!

Google
Under new management. We noticed less salt and spiciness in the grilled mackerel, Kim Chee and soup, all of which were fine for us. Happy with the western pork bone cuts so I had a good amount of meat and potatoes in the Pork bone soup entree! Hubby loved his good portion of grilled Mackeral. Be careful of the bones but we are well trained to spit out the tiny bones. And the restaurant was generous with the Banchan, a plus for us. Will return again for sure!

Google
Such a lovely, welcoming place. We were welcomed right away and seated quickly. Our waitress was fabulous. The menu reflected a great array of dishes. I sometimes struggle going to eat someplace with authentic dishes as I often have to ask for them to accommodate numerous dietary restrictions. They were wonderful in listening and removing ingredients I couldn't have. I was left with a flavorful and fresh bowl that I enjoyed. My husband enjoyed kimchi. We also savored dumplings that we were told are made fresh and homemade. It was a great experience, and fresh, flavorful food.

Google
Our favorite Korean restaurant. Spicy pork is perfect every time we go. Kimchi is nice and spicy. Server is attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Under new management and want to give them a boost. We ordered Bibimbap and Seafood noodle soup. Ingredients were all fresh and both dishes were very good. Decor has been updated and it was very clean. Host and server were extremely helpful and welcoming. We had been going to Arirang for years because the location is convenient for us. Never had any complaints but it wasn't our favorite Korean restaurant in Ann Arbor. We like the new format to go back soon to try more of the new menu.

Yelp
This is my favourite asian restaurant in Ann Arbor. They have good menu with so many options. The food is incredibly delicious. Highly recommended Tokbokki

Yelp
Enjoyed the Kalbi here. Good portions and the service was prompt. Good menu prices with many options.

Yelp
Ever since the ownership changed, this place has completely transformed--in the best way possible. The food is now incredibly delicious, with flavors that are rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. You can really tell that the new management is passionate about what they do. Every dish I tried exceeded my expectations, and it honestly feels like a hidden gem that more people need to know about. I highly, highly recommend this place--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
ZERO star if I could. Remodeled the kitchen and have a new menu and it is NOT the same. Are there new owners??? This has been one of our favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor for the last 15 years and this will be the last time we go there. Food went from five star to absolutely abysmal. Please stay as far away as possible. I felt sorry for our server who has worked there previously. She knew we were going to be very disappointed when we sat down. If you have been here before, just stay away. The food is now horrible.

Yelp
I tried the japchae and combi with kalbi and bulgogi. The japchae was perfectly cooked. The bulgogi was good but those hot plates can dry it out quick. The kalbi was very tough and hard to eat, definitely the toughest of all the places I have been in the area so far. Macheko has the best kalbi, tender and off the bone. I liked the pickled radish. Friendly service. It was really cold inside, so maybe winter is not the best time to visit this small place.

Chrystal L.

Yelp
Best food we have ever had!!!! Staff was amazing, and the Tteokbokki was out of this world!!!!! Spicy chicken was to die for! Fried dumplings far better than any I've sampled in the past. My family will definitely be dining here often!

Yelp
Great authentic Korean food and staff was very nice. Loved their homemade banchan, kimchi was amazing and fresh. Their menu has all the traditional Korean soups, bibimbop, meats and stir fry options. We started with the seafood pancake appetizer which was a little thick for my taste and didn't have as much seafood as I've had at other places. Their galbi tang was amazing! Broth was very rich and you can tell it was cooked over time. Loaded with radish, short rib and sweet potato noodles. Comes in a big portion. The spicy squid was cooked tender and juicy. Not super spicy which was perfect for me.

Yelp
We came here today after moving to Ann Arbor yesterday and needed to have our traditional Korean "moving day meal" to commemorate the occasion! Thankfully Arirang is just down the street from us and we're sure to come back to try more, but here's what we thought on our first visit: Jjajangmyeon: 7.9/10 points! Their Korean Chinese black bean noodles were pretty tasty! My husband is super picky about these noodles and thought these were pretty dang good compared to other places he's tried in the US. Unfortunately I docked them a bit because they don't serve theirs with thinly sliced cucumber which is a bummer as its an essential topping to the dish. But at least they gave me the yellow pickled radish when I asked for it! Tangsuyuk: 5/10 points. I thought these were just okay, the oil tastes like it might need to be changed out and they got soggy really quickly since the sauce is poured right over top and they weren't as crisp and flavorful as I hoped. Side dishes: 8/10 I wish there was more variety but their kimchi, pickled radish and stewed potatoes were all pretty solid, with the potatoes lagging a bit behind in flavor compared to the first two. Service: it took quite a while to receive our food from the kitchen, but it seems like they are very short staffed as there was only one person taking orders for the whole restaurant too. We'll be back! Planning on updating my review often!

Yelp
service isn't bad but best asian food in anna or so far and i've been looking hard. i want to give it a 5 but that's just because it's the only good asian food i've had so far. i don't want to hype it up to much either. grilled galbi and galbi tang were good. coming back for some kimchi friend rice before the week is over. if it's good maybe they will get an upgrade. FYI i'm from sf bay take make what u will of that bit of info.

Yelp
The food is excellent. The service is quick but not rushed or like fast food. It is comfortable and allows you to visit.

Rose O.

Yelp
I had delivery of the food I ordered. It was half kalbi and half bulgogi, it came with white rice and I ordered side of kimchi. The food was kept hot and portions were good. The reason I gave 4 stars was the meat was nervier than I expected. The kalbi was cut thicker than I expected and I would have liked kimchi with more hot spice. I don't know what the restaurant looks like but I will definitely try it again.

Taylor E.

Yelp
Delicious food and amazing lunch special. Best Korean food in Ann Arbor. Great service and the bento box, beef noodle soup we ordered was perfect. Cant say enough about this place.

Yelp
It was hot and I was craving mul naengmyun (cold buckwheat noodle soup) so I got carry out here. It was delicious! They did a nice job packaging the soup ingredients, the broth, and condiments separately. When I got it home and combined everything I didn't feel that I had lost any quality or taste by not eating in their dining room. As with every place currently, they are understaffed so bring your patience. They also have online ordering for carry out.

Yelp
I needed something brothy & soupy for wintery weather and Arirang didn't disappoint! I called in for Galbi Tang (short rib soup) and it was delightful. It seemed like they made it fresh because I was quoted 25 minutes for a wait time but I didn't mind. It was perfect: two large pieces of bone-in beef, perfectly cooked daikon radish, some clear glass noodles, egg (new to me but I still enjoyed it) all swimming in a beautifully rich clear broth. It was wonderfully flavorful and actually reminded me a bit of sul lung tang (a milky beef bone soup that I used to eat in Los Angeles on a regular basis to cure my hangovers!) with the pepperiness to it. It felt so homey and comforting - just what I needed. It came with a generous portion of rice, a little bit of fish cake banchan and I sprang for a 4oz side of kimchi. I come to this plaza often for Tsai Grocery & will be frequenting Arirang more often!!

Arwa A.

Yelp
Very very bad service, they were understaffed and rude. They told us that the wait time will be 20 minutes but they had us waiting for 30+ minutes and completely ignored us and then the server came and told us that it will take a "while" until we get seated while completely disregarding the fact that we've been standing by the door with no seats for 30+ minutes. We were a family of 5 and there were 2 tables of 4 empty but when we told them we didn't mind sitting in those tables and adding an extra chair they refused and claimed that it would block the way even though there still was space, if she knew from the beginning that it would take longer why wasn't she honest with us. Very disappointed.

Yelp
We come here pretty often. They have delicious vegan options and the entree includes a nice little selection of appetizers. The house hot tea is also delicious.

Yelp
Wow, authentic! Super fresh & delicious. I ordered the #4 Rice Bowl "Stone Bowl Bibimbap" with chicken. It took a little time but the sizzling stone bowl was entertaining! I've not had this & realized w the 1st bite that my nicely arranged "assorted vegetables" were chilled that it needed to be stirred. THAT's what steams them...I got the chicken protein & it was topped with a fried egg. For a 1st time, it was a fun & yummy culinary experience. It must be well known locally, lots of take out orders went out the door!

Yelp
This restaurant has a Ma' & Pa' feel. The food is amazing and plentiful. I cannot say more about this gem in our community. Being new in A2 from The CHI. this is my 'go-to' for Korean. Highly recommend: N4. Jjampong Noodles prepared in hot & spicy broth with assorted vegetables and seafood Thank me later, after your nap!

Yelp
Our waitress is super nice and friendly here. She brought us out a new utensil box since ours had no chopsticks in it. She's quick, efficient, sweet and diligent too. We got the fried tofu and the dak bokkeum. This place feels more chilled than the hectic chaos of the restaurants downtown. We tend to feel rushed when we eat downtown, which was earlier today. The tea is nice, not barley or roasted corn tea, but it's roasted corn silk tea, it's a much more subtle taste of corn than the roasted corn. I like it. The banchans came out and they looked fresh and yummy. The potatoes, the kimchi, white shredded radish and the bean. They were all fresh and delicious. The Kimchi is fresh and crunchy. The potatoes are nicely seasoned as are the radish and the beans too. The kimchi is spicier than most, but I like it. The fried tofu was good with a bit of kimchi slice and some of the dipping sauce too. The dak bokkeum came out and it smelled and looked good. It was tasty. The meat was super tender, spicy and delicious. The food was all yummy here, including the banchans. The service was great, so nice, welcoming and friendly here. They accept all cards here too. Overall fantastic experience here at Arirang. We will be back here again for sure.

Yelp
Fun spot with great food!! Will definitely be back. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a Korean restaurant in Ann Arbor Kimchi pancake - DELICIOUS but heavy Kimchi fried rice - great flavor and fresh Bibimbap - second best in Ann Arbor

Yelp
Place: This place is your if you miss Korean food but don't know where to go kind of place. It is off campus but it really hits the hot spot for foods that you are craving. Service: The service was a little slow but it seemed like there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant. (I know how that feels, I have been there when I was working as a waitress). Food/price: The food is overall good but I prefer other Korean restaurants that are closer to where I live. I got a stew that was really good. The pancake was not the best and wish it would be more fresh. The price is overall worth. Audience: It is good for families and friends. I saw a lot of people come in to hang out and eat Korean food on a cold night. Recommend/tips? I would recommend this place but this is not my to go Korean place to go.

Yelp
Actually very surprised by this place. I think this might be the best Korean food I have had in the Midwest which is saying a lot. The people were so nice too! - Banchan (side dishes) - Not the biggest fan of the potato salad, but I really appreciated the egg because usually you don't get this as a side dish. It was slightly spicy and sweet which I really liked. - Sundubu Jjigae - Very solid soft tofu. I liked that they put some cucumbers in there and it wasn't super spicy. - Galbi Tang - I was so surprised that they had this dish because this doesn't show up often at Korean restaurants. The vermicelli was really soft and I like the slightly sweet soup, the flavor is spot on. Overall, very happy with Arirang, super solid Korean food. Also the prices are very reasonable, definitely would come back again.

Yelp
One of my great loves in life is delicious, family-owned restaurants. Another is tasty food. Arirang does both in a simple but inviting environment that allows the friendly service and the unique flavors to be the star of the show. Located in an unassuming shopping center on Ann Arbor-Salome Rd, Arirang is a diamond in the rough. I visited recently for lunch with a friend where we both took the hot stone bowl Bibimbap. After a short wait, our bowls of sizzling rice with veggies and chicken (and a sunny-side up egg!) were delivered to our table, and we got to work with our chopsticks. Word to the wise, the hot stone bowls are hot (temperature-wise), and I may have burned my mouth eating it, but I'm not complaining! As I bulldozed my chopsticks through the top layers, the rice sizzled away on the bottom, so by the end I had a tasty, crunchy end to my delicious meal. It won't be long before I repeat my lunch at Arirang, and in the meantime, you should check it out, too!

Yelp
Being a huge fan of SOCAL Korean food, I used to frequent Los Angeles' K town. I'm surprised it took me so long to experience this place. The location could not be more convenient, especially with free parking. It's a very simple aesthetic with an unbelievably kind and friendly server. The surprisingly authentic and delicious Korean food is rich in flavor, but not overly oily. The menu abounds with exotic options, but we opted for the bento- like boxes. The banchan set the stage for the proceeding courses, with the nice heat from The gochujang. The boxes arrived promptly with commendable presentation. They were a nice mixture of textures and taste. Spicy beef and pork, with japchae, salad, rice, dumplings, sesame soy and an orange . The spicy beef was full of gochugaru, (red chili flakes/red pepper powder made from Korean red chili peppers). The Japchae featured vermicelli, which were slippery, savory and delicious. The soy and sesame oil were added with a light hand, but the fragrance of the combination was intoxicating. They were making fresh dumplings, so our server was kind enough to bring the boxes out first and then deliver the dumplings when they were hot. They were full of the most savory filling! We were so seduced by the lunch, we got take out offerings for dinner. There are myriad options here. Everything sounded amazing, but there is only so much yummy room. A few more visits are necessary to properly enjoy all of the options.

Yelp
Too much waiting time, even though only two tables in front of us, we had to wait for more than 45 mins after ordering. Asked for dishes refilling, it took 15min for waitress respond to us. The dine-in order waits after online dasher order and only one waitress working at lobby and packing up. Very bad experience, will never try again.
google avatar

Yelp
First time dining here. The spicy squid in stone bowl was perfection! The Katsu chicken was good, though the sauce tasted like bottled BBQ sauce. I will go there again.

Yelp
Not too many people when we stepped in which gave us the luxury to choose our table.Ordered Fried Tofu, Bulgogi, Yumso Tang( Goat Broth) that comes with side of rice.Everything was good. Pros: -------- Good Food Friendly Staff Quick Service Complimentary Banchan Free Ample Parking Food options close by

Yelp
It was our first time trying Arirang and it could've been better. We arrived right when they opened and were told to pick a table. Our waitress was marinating in her perfume - so much so, my eyes were watering. Even though we were the only customers, service was slow. We didn't see any customers - dine in or carry out - until we were cashing out, which was 1.5 hours later. We ordered the tofu bi bim bap and Sundubu Jjigae. We were served two ban chan (we expected at 3-4 total). The Sundubu Jjigae was hot, but the contents were disappointing. Usually there is an egg on top but when we didn't see one, we asked and the waitress said it's "inside." And the tofu was all broken and there was only one clam, one mussel, one squid, and no shrimp. Based on the menu's description, I guess this is what they consider "assorted seafood." The bi bim bap was very hot, which was awesome because I always order the stone bowl to get that crispy rice. However, I thought it was odd it had lettuce. I was happy there was a properly fried egg on top.

Sandra Y.

Yelp
Normal mom and pop place to eat at. In my opinion, I enjoyed the broth of the Wooguji Galbi Tang but I only got like two pieces of Kalbi so I was a little disappointed with that. It was around 15.99. My sister got the bibimbop, the meat was portioned well, not too much meat and good amount of veggies. It had purple cabbage in it, which I haven't had before but I enjoy purple cabbage and the egg was perfectly runny for the bibimbop. My sisters bf had the chicken katsu and they said it was crunchy and still very juicy, so I trust that was truthful. Then my bf had the bulgogi, it was slightly too sweet for me, but my bf enjoyed it. We also got some starters like the seafood pancake and the spicy rice cakes. The pancake was crispy and seasoned well but I was disappointed in the spicy rice cakes, I felt like the rice cakes were only boiled and had no texture. The spicy sauce was delicious but there just wasn't any texture so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had anticipated. I was expecting it something more crispy with a little bit of sauce on the rice cakes. Just to mention the menu at the restaurant didn't have the description like the online menu so I had to go on what they said it would be like. Overall probably not bad if you're craving Korean but not something I'd go out of my way to get if I had other options.

Yelp
service is great. food is okay. small local businesses. I hold high standards on my star rating, so 3 stars is about average.

Yelp
First lunch experience. Great lunch specials and portion sizes. Food was as expected and delicious. Came with kimchi side. Very wide menu and many options for diet restrictions. If looking for Korean this is a great find. Super delicious and fresh. I would also recommend for take out. Inside seating is nothing special, but they do have table service. A few long tables could host large parties and several smaller tables as well

Yelp
This place has a lot of tofu, seafood, meat/bone broth soups, hot pots, Army stew, etc. that are very cozy and perfect for a breezy day in the fall or a snowy winter evening. We had the Galbi Tang and the seafood Sundubu Jjigae and seafood pancake. We've also tried the Galbi, dukbokki, and bibimbap. The broth in their soups is tasty, but very one dimensionally salty or spicy, not really full-bodied or nuanced. The tofu soup broth is a little watered down. The actual contents of the soup themselves, however, are excellent, with generous hunks of slides-off-the-bone, tender meat, chunky daikon, and tons of little seafood bites. Their barbecued meat dishes are also 100% on point in terms of flavor and tenderness. The bibimbap veggies are fresh, and the composition of the bibimbap of meat and veggie choices mixes nicely together. While the broths were a little disappointing this time, they're still comforting and filling. Overall, a good place for some warm, comforting soup on a cold winter's day. Pros: Service, portion sizes, meat, decent authenticity Cons: Soups and broths delicious as other Korean tofu houses, disappointing/non traditional side dishes Recommendations: - Seafood pancake - Galbi and other BBQ meat dishes - Bibimbap

Yelp
We never go to try this restaurant, but had the Worst service experience ever. My husband and I went to Arirang on a Friday evening with our two kids. There are several empty tables and no one waiting. The waitress said we have to wait for an hour because they have many take-out orders, so we decide to go somewhere. But as soon as we leave, there are two people coming in and they got seated immediately. This restaurant selects people to serve. This is unfair and making me uncomfortable. We will never go back to this restaurant.

Yelp
Everything you'd expect from a legit Ann Arbor Korean restaurant: * family-owned * friendly staff * market appropriate prices * excellent food * headache-inducingly slow service * see above, really so slow I like the food so I'll be back. But it won't be when I have other evening plans to get to.

Yelp
This place has been a staple for my wife and I when out in the Ann Arbor area. The staff is always friendly. Recently, we don't k is if they have changed their chefs but the food doesn't taste the same and the portion size is different. It's such a shame. I hope they take customers feedback and change to get back to their original taste

Yelp
My friend and I decided to take a break and go to lunch. This place was his choose. I am always open to something different so I was like cool. This was my second time actually going to a Korean restaurant. It feels like my first because the first time was not a good experience but this time was different. The place is located in a strip mall. It is a small quaint place. We were seated pretty quick. It took me a minute to make a decision and I decided on the Dahk-Boke-Uhm which was the spicy chicken. The pre coarse items to share included some various items such as Kim-chi and steamed dumplings which I would have to say were pretty interesting and tasty items. The main lunch entry had a good presentation with the chicken in spiced sauce and rice. The meal was really tasty. It had good portions that were not overwhelming for a lunch and it had great seasonings. I am a fan and plan on visiting this spot again.

Yelp
To the owner... I walked in at 11am and wanted to sit in the window and the host wouldn't let me?!? So I left. You had four people in the restaurant.

Isaac J.

Yelp
Great, one of the best Korean restaurants in Ann Arbor. Large portions and good kalbee, bulgogi
google avatar

Plons D.

Yelp
The place was only half full when came in. Was seated pretty quickly but they seemed to prioritize the takeout orders. I understand that they're short-staffed at this time but it feels unfair to all the customers who all had to wait for an hour for their food while seeing takeout orders going out the door. The food was good but would recommend only if you have the time to spare.

Yelp
WOW, it's been over 3.5 year since my last visit... review update long overdue! Went here for dinner with family and our friends. We walked in and this place was packed, luckily, there was a table for 6 where we were seated right away. After reviewing the menu, this is what we ordered: Chompong, BiBimNaenmyun, Seafood SoonTofu, Yukgaejang, & Cod Stew. Like all Korean restaurants, when you have so many menu offerings; its so hard to decide what to get and also the flavors get mixed up. Favorites: - Yukgaejang - it was better then lot of other places; I would definitely get this dish. - Cod Stew - I'm a favorite of seafood and anything seafood related; they made this dish very well. I would get this again. Semi- Favorite - Chomping - this was supposed to be seafood flavored; but it tasted like yukjaejang broth with noodles and seafood. - Seafood SoonTofu - taste has changed; taste the same as when they were Seoul Korner. Least Favorite - do NOT order: - BiBimNaenmyun - I would never order this. The taste was nothing but hot gochujang, no flavor, no taste... they should re-evaluate this dish and remove it. Service - not bad even though it was busy. When busy, don't expect too much on refill on barchans, etc. Personally, they should reduce the amount of food offering and stick their top sellers and dishes they are good at.

Yelp
Great place to get your money's worth! I strongly recommend the squid stonebowl, its the perfect amount of sweet and spicy with a generous portion of squid laid on a bed of lettuce and rice. Not only is the squid stonebowl a show stealer, but the seafood pancake appetizer is the best opener. Crunchy and chewy, the perfect juxtaposition. If you're looking to have broth as a meal, I would also suggest to order the budaejigae (WAY better than Seoul garden). I'm a total regular and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. DONT FORGET TO ASK FOR THEIR CORN TEA!!
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
Really good Korean food! I'm pretty picky about how my food tastes, but the food was super flavorful without being overly salty, and the kimchi was soooooo good. I ordered the squid stone bowl as it was recommended, and it did not disappoint! Also their pancake appetizer is made of rice flour so good for gluten-free people! You can tell a lot of time and effort goes into their food. This is a small family business and the girl that works there all the time is so nice, cute AF, and provides good service. It gets pretty busy during lunch/dinner times & they can definitely fit a pretty large party (probably need to call ahead of time for that). FYI they don't serve alcohol.

Laila C.

Yelp
The owners and staff seemed very nice after we left which was nice to see! Theres one server who seemed tired from taking orders, but that's no biggie I completely understand as that she was the only server working from what it looked like. The food was amazing, I normally don't eat Korean food, so I cant compare it on a authentic level, but it was quite delicious. My favorite was a spicy seafood mix, not sure what it was exactly called, but that dish standed out the most. This restaurant is a must try!

Yelp
I enjoyed the galbi tang. The service was a bit slow. I'd recommend getting there a bit early.

Yelp
Have only eaten here once. Dumplings were absolutely amazing- perfectly prepared and maybe the best I've had. Bulgogi was delish and will definitely come back for more. Ordered a chicken dish and asked for it to be mild - it was still blazing hot and inedible for us. So - if you love heat go for it. If not stay with savory and sweeter dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant - service was slow, but they were clear short staffed. WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!

Yelp
This is the best seafood pancake! I usually don't even get seafood pancake, but my family wanted it and this one was delicious and chewy, maybe with a sticky rice flour of some sort? This whole review is just to chime in with the others who have said the seafood pancake is the best. The banchan is hit or miss, but we definitely got refills on some. I had soon du bu as usual and it was not outstanding but very satisfying. Overall standard Korean fare, but above average, probably one of the better in Ann Arbor. Service is okay. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Hidden gem. Simple place and looks like family owned. Their food is really good. Will come again and recommend to friends. Hope they stay consistently good long term.
