The 16 Best Restaurants On West LA's Sawtelle Boulevard - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Between spots with matcha soft serve, mango pudding, and cream puffs, there are more dessert options on Sawtelle than sand at the beach. But if we had to pick one, it'd be Artelice Patisserie. This upscale bakeshop (with another location in Burbank) specializes in glossy French pastries that belong in an art gallery, from delicate caramel napoleons to mango eclairs and passionate fruit croissants. Some items here can look more vibrant than they taste, but if you're looking for a post-meal nibble, their multiple-colored selection of macarons is a good bet." - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore, cathy park

"Known for its stunning pastries, Artelice Patisserie opened in early 2017 and expanded to Burbank to increase the bakery’s output of macarons, tarts, eclairs, and some of the most gorgeous cakes in the city. Artelice Patisserie - Review - Sawtelle - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week | Eater LA

"This Sawtelle-area French patisserie (open Thu–Sun) is my pastry dream: over a dozen bright macaron flavors (try yuzu, jasmine, cassis), intricate desserts, and specialty croissants like the Italian Princess stuffed with shiitake and cremini mushrooms, basil, and Parmesan, where the mushroom depth pairs perfectly with impeccably laminated dough." - Eater Staff

Google
I absolutely loved this place! I tried their Orange Blossom pastry, and the aroma instantly took me back to the springtime scents of northern Iran — something I never expected to find here. It was delicate, fragrant, and beautifully made. I’m so happy to have discovered such a unique and outstanding pastry shop. Everything feels authentic, high-quality, and crafted with so much care. This place is definitely a gem!

Google
Phenomenal, special and unique desserts — the quality of the pastries and mousse cakes is A+. Come here to try specialized one of a kind desserts. There was a lot of people coming in and out and lines when we got there but it moved quickly. The workers are attentive. It’s obviously a popular place — however it’s best for its desserts not its drinks. The matcha was not the best so it dropped one star for me - just simple tasting water and powder type, so I wouldn’t recommend the drinks since you can get them for the same price elsewhere with better matcha. The plaza is a decent size with other stores and parking but the area is not the best — there might be people loitering around so be aware of your surroundings. There’s tables and chairs inside so you can definitely enjoy your dessert inside. Would recommend coming here for a sweet treat and i love how the desserts aren’t overly sweet!

Google
Really not a sweets’ fan. But I loved the idea of making adorable and aesthetic packaging and the pastry. Toooooo sweet that I can not stand so I just taste a little on each I ordered and throw them away immediately. What I suggest is if you could make a less sweet version of each for people who are like me and still keep such sweet version for all people who gave 5 stars. Honestly, the taste did not surprise me too. However, this is so far the best presentation of desserts I’ve ever seen in LA! People who really like sweet would love it! But not for me.

Google
Bright patisserie with a variety of croissants and creative pastries. Came here for a sweet treat with my boyfriend on a Saturday morning and there was a mid-sized line that moved fairly quickly. There is parking on-site as well as metered street parking in the front. You order and pay at the counter while they pack your order. We tried a couple of their tarts and they gave us a complimentary macaron (I tried the chocolate). There’s some seating both indoors and outdoors. The pastries were high quality and delicious.

Google
Beautiful pastry to die for in Sawtelle 😩 We got the almond croissant but all the pastries looked incredible. The croissant was the most flaky and delicious we have ever eaten. Overall highly recommend if you are in LA in general to stop by this shop!

Google
Artelice Patisserie is an absolute gem. 🥐✨ Their pastries are stunning to look at and even better to eat – perfectly balanced flavors, super fresh, and not overly sweet. Every visit feels special, the presentation is next level, and the staff is always kind and helpful with recommendations. Easily one of the best patisseries around – 5/5, I’ll definitely be back!

Google
This was probably my forth or fifth already in Artelice, so you could tell it's pretty good sign that I kept coming back. It's great to know they now had more stocks as well until quite late afternoon since before, coming late only ended up having you staring at empty pastry cases. For this quick pastry run, we had their Ham and cheese croissant as well as almond one, both of which were scrumptious in their own ways. The first savory one was flavorful with strong cheese taste, while the later had royal almond paste filling and the crunch on top was such treat (as always)! It's always been nice that they still kept giving complimentary 2 macarons of your choice with any purchase. So far I had tried Pistachio, Earl Grey, Matcha, Cookies and Cream; and the first two were my top list to enjoy while chilling in the gorgeous comfy venue. If you're in the boat of savory croissants, Artelice was doubtlessly worth trying as they served handful choices of awesome ones!

Google
The macarons here are absolutely delightful! The pistachio macaron in particular stood out, perfectly balanced flavor and an amazing texture. I’ve tried plenty of macarons in France, and this one is still among the best.👌🏻

Yelp
The best pastry shop in town. Nice and respectful staff and the owner is beyond helpful. 100% recommend!

Yelp
Their cakes are worth every penny -- in presentation, taste/quality, freshness, & texture. Hard to believe they can pack such a complex flavor profile into such a tiny (still reasonable sized for one person) little sphere. Lots of great options with a large variety of flavors, so there's no issue picking out one that you or a friend will love (the issue is really more on how much you have to limit yourself and not cave in and want to try/buy everything!). I went on a Sunday around late afternoon and there were plenty of cakes left. I ended up getting the Blossom & Pavlova for a friend's birthday; she was thrilled at how cute they were & even more fanatic when we tasted them! Really intricate textures, layers, and flavors inserted into each cake. I believe the Blossom was pistachio mousse with & red berry jam, and the Pavlova was a merengue with coconut, passionfruit, & jam. 10/10 for both of them, will definitely be ordering more for celebrations in the future :) Also, the macarons are good but nothing too special -- tastes like ones you can get at any patisserie! Save room for the cakes :) Wish they made larger versions of everything!

Yelp
Stopped by for a croissant! Their prices are not posted but they around $4-6 each. There's no signage for the store, but we did confirm we did enter the right place since the name is on the door! We wanted to get a savory croissant but was already kinda full from lunch so we just picked up a Kouign-amann and got a free macaron! The Kouign-amann was nice and flaky not too sweet, perfect for what we were going for! Some tables inside and outdoor tables too. There's also parking available in the attached lot.

Yelp
This place is usually closed by the time I get to sawtelle for dinner but today I was there for lunch so I had to stop by! I got a Persian Rose? Croissant and it was amazing...I kinda want another one ASAP! It was so light and crispy on the outside but filled with something divine...I am in love! Will be back soon. Service is friendly. Line is a bit confusing...it can get pretty packed inside. There are tables inside and outside to sit at and honestly this is a great date spot instead of the typical ones these days - "walk in the park" and "coffee". If you wanna ask someone on a cheaper date I'd def go here!!!

Yelp
We were looking for cakes for a last minute celebration in the area. We arrived at 4ish by which time, there were only 6 cakes left! We took 4 and added some macarons and pastries. The cakes are so pretty and are real works of art. I felt so bad destroying them. They are very delicious with interesting flavors and not too sweet. One cake is more than enough for two but you really want to keep it all for yourself. Just sayin. The pastries were amazing. Super yummy. Definitely share them because you will finish one huge chocolate covered croissant in no time and feel really bad about yourself. I'm not a fan of macarons, so I can't really review them properly. They were fine. I couldn't tell the difference between the yuzu and the other orange macaron. Service was great. They were patient in explaining to us our choices. They gave us an extra pastry. Maybe coz it was the end of the day or we spent above a certain amount. I'm not sure. But it was appreciated! The eating area is small but nice. We didn't stay to eat but I would like to spend some time with a cup of coffee and cake with a girlfriend some day.

Yelp
One of my favorite spot in LA! Having lived in France my whole life I can honestly say that I am not disappointed! The pastries are authentic but also very creative, the place looks like a cute French café and the people working there always offer free macarons!

Yelp
I stumbled upon this gem while visiting LA last month. The employee who helped us was exceptional and clearly passionate about the pastries. The shop is cute and quiet. But oh my goodness, the pastries are absolutely decadent and gorgeous! This Artelice is top tier!

Yelp
A small patisserie located on the street front on a corner plaza in Sawtelle. There's limited parking on the main level, but they do have underground parking. You have to get a ticket from the attendant, but you can get validation for up to 45 minutes free parking. Staff were friendly and prompt in their service. When it gets busy, you can feel a bit pressured. Otherwise, in terms of the goodies they have ... there is a lot to choose from. I like that they have a variety of pastries from sweet, delicate cakes to macarons to croissants of sorts. 1. Sofia (4/5): I love the cute cube look of this cake. It's very chocolatey on the outside and inside. There's 2 pieces of dark chocolate squares that serve as decor on the outside of the cake. The inside contains chocolate mousse, vanilla creme custard with a very subtle hint of hazelnut. The description said there is liqueur, but neither my friend nor I tasted it. 2. Valentino (4/5): Another aesthetically pleasing to look at cake that is rich with dark chocolate mousse, raspberry jam-like filling and coconut sponge cake. It gets a bit too sweet after more than 2-3 bites. This is great when shared. 3. Pistachio macaron (4.5/5): This was a gift on the house. It had subtle pistachio flavor and with the shell of the macron, it almost has a toasted coconut flavor to it. I like that this particular flavor was not too sweet. I would get this one again. 4. Milk Chocolate Passion Fruit Macaron(3/4): Second macaron on the house. It was very crispy on the outside and tart on the inside from the passion fruit, but also creamy from the chocolate infused with it. Unfortunately, I found this to be too sweet. 5. Gianduja Croissant (5/5): If you like Nutella, then this croissant is for you. It is essentially a chocolate croissant with milk chocolate hazelnut filling. Super chocolatey, but a nice sweet treat. 6. Matcha Croissant (4.5/5): Crispy matcha croissant dough filled with matcha chocolate. It was not too sweet and the matcha flavor was pleasant. 7. Italian Princess (5/5): Wow, I love this croissant. It's super unique and I have never had something like this before. It has olive infused in the croissant dough filled with the filling being slightly savory - shitake and cremini mushrooms, parmesan cheese, sun dried tomato and basil. The basil and sun dried tomatoes were minimal, but contributed to the overall flavor. I would come back for their croissants.

Yelp
This place is the best with the cutest looking desserts and pastries. I wanted to buy everything but my wallet wouldn't let me. Their desserts were a variety of cakes and pastry like items. She even taped the desserts onto the box so they wouldn't move around. There are some regular pastries that I didn't get but will be back for next time!

Yelp
After previously going to the Artelice Patisserie in Burbank in 2021, hubby & I have been raving about it to our friends. Believe me, if you are ever near one, be sure to give them a try! Fast forward, I saw some Yelp friends checking into this Sawtelle location. Although this location is not new, it's good to discover its' existence since it is a shorter distance thus more convenient to get to! Hurray! Parking in Sawtelle is pretty much metered street parking and a few specific parking lots. There is a parking garage not far on Sawtelle Blvd. that I think is free. That's where we parked, walked over to Artelice, ate a few goodies, and went back to the car. This shop is located in a plaza on Olympic Blvd. It's a brightly lit and not a very ornate space inside. The walls are pretty bare, no pictures hanging. The flooring, tables & chairs fancy up the interior a bit. We knew of a few items we wanted and then looked over the display to see what else we should get. It really is difficult to refrain from getting one of everything! These pastries are gorgeous works of art! Our order was carefully placed into two fancily printed boxes, a larger and a smaller box. They are so pretty, one was pink & the other blue. There are some indoor indoor tables & chairs as well as a few outside. We sat outside because all the indoor ones were taken. We ate a few of the pastries there and took the rest home to enjoy later. We were able to get a paper plate to eat on so we didn't have to eat out of the box. What we ordered: *Pavlova ($9.50) - Vanilla Mousse, crunchy Vanilla Meringue, exotic Mango & Passionfruit Salsa center topped with Strawberry-Yuzu *Yuzu Tart ($8.50) - Yuzu Cremieux & Passionfruit Meringue atop an Almond Sable Cookie *100% Chocolate ($8.50) - Choc. Mousse, Choc. Hazelnut crispy layer, Choc. Cake, & Cocoa Nib Nougatine *Tiramisu ($8.50) - Lady Finger Sponge soaked in Coffee & Rum Syrup and Mascarpone Mousse *Sophia ($8.50) - Dk Choc. Mousse, Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Hazelnut Crunch layer, Choc. Sponge, & a Cherry soaked in liqueur *Coffee Eclair *Canelés de Bordeaux, Cinnamon Croissant, & Pain aux Raisins *Macarons: Pistachio & Milk Chocolate Earl Grey My favorites are the ones that contain fruit, meringue, and/or are chewy. I loved the Yuzu Tart & Pavlova, they are sooo scrumptious! I usually get a Canelés at patisseries, so I got one here also! This one was moist and superb! We wanted to try more items than what we chose on our visit today, but we'll try them on another visit. These treats are kind of pricey, so you can easily drop $50-$100 before you know it! But... since I can't bake these delectable delights myself & they are exquisite, they are well worth the expense! We will certainly be back!!

Yelp
I absolutely love this café! The macarons are fantastic, and the staff is very friendly. I even received two free macarons on the house, which was such a nice surprise. The café is beautifully decorated, and I adore the aesthetic. The desserts all look amazing, but I didn't have the capacity to try them all, so I only got macarons to-go this time. I chose the following flavors: pistachio, matcha, rose, yuzu, earl grey, milk chocolate passion fruit, sea salt caramel, and chocolate. Each one was delicious and perfectly made. I love this place and will definitely be coming back to try the other desserts sometime soon!
google avatar

Sayaka S.

Yelp
The service here was excellent! We were looking to to-go a couple of cakes but it was an extremely hot day. They kept the cake for us in the back until we were ready for pick up. They even gave great recommendations on which cakes had lower chances to melt. And these cakes are so beautiful! They are a bit pricy and the taste wasn't exceptional if I'm being really picky. However, still a great experience!
google avatar

Derek T.

Yelp
The service here was incredible. I was having a hard time picking a cake that would last a 30 minute drive in the heat and the servers were so patient and describing what was in each that may last the drive. The dessert are all so unique and aesthetic they are almost too pretty to eat. I brought them to a birthday dinner and everyone was shocked on how they looked and tasted. I need to come back here to try their croissants and other pastries!
google avatar

Yelp
Simply a beautiful artwork of delicious pastries! This is not your typical bakery. Each piece is masterfully created to become its own unique work of art. We ordered the "cream puff, vanilla eclairs and a few macaroons. All of which far surpassed any "pastry" I have ever had! Wow!
google avatar

Nicole J.

Yelp
What can I say their reviews don't lie. 5 out of 5 for their pastries and service. We had the Saint Honore, Chocolate pistachio cookie, cinnamon roll, and ham and cheese croissant.

Yelp
[Verdict] One of my favorite pastry/cake shops in Los Angeles. Great for any occasion from small celebrations, office gatherings, or even a romantic dessert share! -Classic Sawtelle parking(limited), amazing variety, IG friendly/gorgeous presentation & boxing, absolutely delicious & affordable, & super helpful staff with great recommendations. [Favorites] -Tiramisu - Mascarpone(Soft Italian Cream Cheese) Mousse w/lady finger sponge (finger shaped sponge cake biscuits) soaked in Coffee/Rum syrup (Contains Alcohol). -Cheesecake Fraise - Lemon & Vanilla Cream Cheese Mousse w/strawberry inserts & almond sable cookie. Honestly you can't really go wrong with anything here, & I really loved how intricate & complex each cake was! The employees are amazing & they'll add a bit of tape to the bottom of each cake plate to help with transporting your purchases to your loved ones in one piece.

Yelp
Phenomenal. Such a beautiful, elegantly done pastry shop. Favorite pastries: * mango passion fruit cro-muffin. This will BLOW your mind. There was one week I stopped by 3 times in a week just to get this because I was craving it so much. Beautiful texture of buttery croissant, addicting filling and muffin. * Croissant wheel with a flavor of the day stuffing. The stuffing is always clever and delicious. Sometimes the croissant itself can be a tad bit crisp and dry but nevertheless well complimented with the generous filling in the inside. * YUZU TART (MUST get, this will blow you away. A slight subtle yuzu, passion fruit meringue with a very beautiful herb like aftertaste and aroma of vanilla sable on top of a well balanced thin but dense buttery pastry crust) * Exotic (Pistachio sponge, mango, banana and passion fruit insert with Caribbean cocktail pineapple, coconut, lemon and passion fruit mousse) * Pavlova - beautiful in flavor and texture. Must get. * SAINT HONORE (must eat fresh. Beautifully done in terms of their detail to perfection and texture. Caramelized puff pastry filled with Madagascar vanilla pastry cream and salted caramel topped with 24h infused Madagascar vanilla ganache) * TARTE TATIN (would not get again. Very roasted apple forward in flavor notes and a bit soggy in texture. I like the other options a bit better. Caramelized puff pastry, caramelized apples infused with Tahitian vanilla beans, vanilla infused white chocolate cream, vanilla crumbles) each purchase is kindly complimented with 2 macarons on the house as a courtesy from the staff members. Their flavors all rotate and it's such a delight to try each time. Lavender latte is made of monin syrup and since this shop is known for its pastries I'd say the lavender latte was subpar and I wouldn't get again despite the fact that it was still decent.

Yelp
So many dessert places but none made me satisfied except the place located in Eatly on century city. However in the entrance of Sawtelle area, found this most gorgeous and scrumptious cafe! The service was super awesome even offered me their house Americano and some macarons complimentarily... The cakes are super decadent sophisticated and detailed, even the cake holder itself is super thoughtful, they've fixed with the tapes at the bottom to hold while driving around. And came home open the box, wow!! It was just wow, Raspberry cake was super well balanced with raspberry mouse and lemony taste over dark dark chocolate flavor , tiramisu cake they put some texture crispy, super duper toothsome, the yuzu tart was the best Lemon tart with Yuzu infusion in So cal also the baked meringues surrounded were the great touch! Can't wait to try more in this cafe Thank you very very much for the cakes and greatest service ever. Over all this cafe is the second to none in So- cal seriously!!!!
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
I was looking at the croissants through the glass window and was admiring how beautiful they looked. I had just came by from Tartine so I couldn't possibly buy more... But my husband decided to go in and their Yuzu macaron got his attention.. he couldn't just buy one so he got me an Earl Grey one. Then they threw in one more (on the house), passion fruit. Do you remember ratatouille movie when Remy was telling his mouse friend to slowly chew and wait for the flavors to come out? I was me. I was the mouse friend. The flavors came bursting as you keep chewing! Yuzu, earl grey, passion fruit, cookies and cream, matcha, pistachio... SO SO GOOD! Yeah you're right, we went back to try more other flavors! It's $2 per so how could we not?!

Yelp
Amazing pastries and professional customer service. Definitely the best in LA and anywhere you can think of. Highly recommended

Yelp
I finally had a chance to stop by this lovely bakery and can happily report will be coming back regularly! My friend and I were welcomed by friendly staff and the owner on a busy Sunday afternoon. Despite the line, the staff worked quickly so the wait isn't long at all. My friend and I tried the Persian Princess croissant which had delightful and delicate rose notes with a perfectly balanced pistachio filling. The roll with raisins had a hint of cinnamon and was crispy and moist. Our favorite was one of their most popular - the blueberry filled croissant, which had slightly tart notes and did not taste overly sweet at all. The inside filling with the flaky exterior was a masterpiece! I could not recommend this place enough! There is a parking lot and metered parking around the area. There are tables inside and outside for dining at this cute establishment!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Scrumptious, elegant croissants with a price point that's easily justifiable given the craftsmanship. The croissants are top notch in both appearances, texture and taste. My favorite was the New York croissant. The generous lychee filling was so decadent and to have the crispy bread topped with floral notes was truly icing on the cake. The Persian Princess and matcha croissants were excellent as well; though they appear large on the outside, they are actually very hollow inside, which makes them not very filling. I liked that the matcha croissant had a bittersweet matcha filling inside and the floral notes on the Persian Princess was a nice touch. All their croissants were crispy, buttery and flaky just as a croissant should be. I got here in the early afternoon and there was only one matcha croissant left so I'm guessing these sell out pretty early in the day. I personally was not a fan of the almond croissant and the Kouign-amann and so I probably wouldn't get these again. I didn't like the jam-like filling used in the almond croissant. I thought the Kouign-amann was too sugary that it was sticky and I could taste the sugar particles. I prefer the Kouign-amann that Dominique Ansel makes. They even gave us two free macarons, both of which were excellent.
google avatar

Elle L.

Yelp
This is the best pastry shop! The croissants are light, flaky and delicious. The Pain au Chocolat and Cinnamon Croissant are especially good. I am not a big fan of Napoleons, but Artelice's is special...light and airy. Even the pastry boxes are beautiful. The staff is especially friendly and often will give a sample to take home.

Yelp
The most amazing and very best pastries on planet earth can be found here. A friend brought a box of 6 pastries for a dinner at our home. They were all absolutely beautiful to behold. Each pastry was so visually appealing it was tough to bring myself to slice them up into quarters so that the four of us could sample them all. We enjoyed Exotic, Roche, Saint Honore, Tarte Tatin, Sophia, and Valentino. You can check the "menu" page of their website for detailed descriptions of each. I thought every one was superb and each one brought a tear of joy to my eye. My two favorites (a difficult decision) were the Valentino (dark chocolate mousse, raspberry insert, coconut sponge) and Saint Honore (caramelized puff pastry filled with Madagascar vanilla pastry cream and salted caramel topped with Madagascar vanilla ganache). While I devoured the pastries I didn't go to the store itself so can't comment on the shop or on interaction with the staff. The only thing I can share in that regard is that my friend said she went to the store ten minutes before they opened and was already the third person in line to get in!
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
Stopped by this store and there were so many beautiful desserts on display. Decided to get the Exotic and they threw in two free macarons with my order! I love all the layers in this dessert and it wasn't too sweet nor was it too tart. All the flavors complemented each other and I think if I was hungrier I would have ordered more to go. The interior is really cute and there's some seating inside and some tables that lined the outside.

Yelp
Random Thursday 12pm Spanish princess (crispy flakey buttery and perfectly creamy Parmesan cheese 11 out of 10!) Chocolate croissant (crispy buttery but it feels like dark chocolate and not too sweet 9 out of 10) You can literally see the effort they put into every beautiful pastry! Will be back soon

Ruth M.

Yelp
Service food and ambience are all par excellence. The chocolate croissants are the best flaky and good chocolate. We got a free macaroons which made our day!

Yelp
Patisserie has some of the best fancy desserts I've had. Sometimes the presentation doesn't always translate to taste, but that is not the case here. I tried Roche which looks like a huge Ferrero Rocher, which was out of this world good! Also tried the Saint Honore, more on the sweeter side, but really creamy and delicious, and the Yuzu tart which balanced out the sweetness from the other desserts with a sour flavor. Highly recommend these for your next dinner party, perfect for sharing, or even just a sweet treat!

Yelp
Dropped by on a weekday early evening because I was really craving chocolate cake. I got a tiramisu, dark chocolate cake, and 3 macarons (I forgot the flavors, but one of them was yuzu). Chocolate cake - 3/5, loved how chocolatey it was, but it was incredibly dense and also hard to slice through. There's a denser bottom layer with a beautiful chocolate mousse-like top half, and it was near impossible to get both in 1 bite. The bottom layer would stick to my knife and fork (I tried both). Otherwise I really enjoyed it! Tiramisu - 5/5 I would order and eat this again, it was light and not too sweet! Also looks beautiful. Macarons - 2/5, these were too sweet for me and I had to toss.

Yelp
Works of art made with the freshest of ingredients that are as delightfully delicious as they are beautiful! Service was warm and patient with us as we tried to figure out which of the many eye pleasing options we wanted to purchase. We decided on the Pavlova, Tiramisu, mocha croissant and something else that was ridiculously amazing. We were also given two free macarons! And oh.my.goodness! There are pastry chefs and then there are Farid and Saeed...two people whose dedication to their craft will be the gift your taste buds were made for. Well done Artelice Pâtisserie!

Yelp
I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover the wonder that is Artelice Patisserie. TLDR: Got a sweet tooth? Go here asap. The divine pastry flavors and presentation are out of this world. Everything was incredible. The macaroons, yuzu tart, and blossom all had such sweet, bold, elegant, and balanced flavors bursting with each bite. I'm not a religious man, but the first bite I took of that blossom was a holy experience. I care way more about taste vs appearance, but the dessert aesthetics were creations of fine art. Even I had to marvel at the beautiful details. To top it off, excellent service. You can tell that the owner and workers care genuinely about their customers. My wife and I will without a doubt be back!

Yelp
I love it here! The lady offered me two macarons on the house, and I chose the pistachio and passion fruit macarons. What a sweetheart, the vibes are too good. I think it's priced fairly for how tasty it all was. I'll definitely return to order more desserts! Their Valentines mousse was so tasty and not overwhelmingly sweet; the lychee jelly was subtle and fragrant. Exactly what lychee flavor should be. My friends chocolate dessert was equally yummy and rich! I'm so glad I got to visit :)

Yelp
I've been driving by this place for quite some time now and finally gave it a try. I am so glad I did! When you walk in, the shop makes you feel like you're in Paris. Vibes and presentation are 10/10 here! The staff is SO friendly and patient. We even got two free macrons with our order! They were delicious! We ordered a plethora of items. We got the hazelnut eclair, vanilla eclair, napoleon, cheesecake fraise, chocolate cake, and the Sophia. Everything is top notch and absolutely beautiful. Everything was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to go back for more! They also had a good variety of Valentine's Day items which looked amazing as well! Awesome place! 10/10 and will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Heard so much about this place and finally got to try it! Wanted to try famous croissants, but came too late in the day (4pm), but still had some cakes and cookie left! Even though there was a line, it was going super fast, a few friendly people assisted everyone with care and advice. I got to choose a chocolate mousse cake, pavlova merengue and a few macaroons(orange, blue, light creme), which I truly enjoyed. I didn't fully understand why the fruits inside Pavlova dessert was frozen, but otherwise I can strongly say Chocolate Mousse Cake and macaroons were my favorite! O, forgot to say that Hazelnut Eclairs were also on fire!! Loved those desserts. Great place. I also tried Americano, and loved coffee quality here. Even though I saw people study there, I would say it is better for 5 o'clock tea and dessert, or morning sweet and coffee.

Yelp
Came at 4:30p on a Thursday, there was still parking in the small lot and a decent selection left. We got the exotic and the tiramisu, but all of the pastries were extremely beautiful and well crafted. Exotic: The pistachio sponge was fluffy and the Caribbean mousse had a bright fruity flavor. Tiramisu: It was en elevated taste from the classic flavor of tiramisu, not too sweet and paired great with coffee. They also gave us complimentary macarons--we got the rose and the earl grey one. The staff was patient when we were waffling between which pastries to choose. The space inside is clean and well lit.

Yelp
Artelice feels like a fancy Parisian Patisserie. From the outside I wasn't so sure because of the location. But once I stepped inside it was as if I teleported to Paris. The pastries are expertly crafted, beautifully made, and delicious. Anyone would be thrilled to get something from Artelice. So much thought went into the packaging and presentation. Every single pastry and macaron was treated like a work of art. I was blown away. Prices are on the higher end but when you think about how complex each dessert is to construct, it's really not bad. I mean, seriously it's high end fine dining caliber pastry. So it's a decent price all things considered. Service was excellent. I felt special and valued. How often can you say that nowadays? The pastry box was beautiful. From start to finish Artelice was perfection. LOCATION: 5/5 FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 5/5 AMBIANCE: 5/5 PET FRIENDLY: yes CLEANLINESS: 5/5 PARKING: 5/5 (street and adjacent lots)

Yelp
I feel like I've seen these beautiful pastries everywhere online, and after being in Paris, I have a newfound respect for patisseries like this. My friend raved about this spot, so we came right before closing to snag some. Such a cute interior that teleported me right back to Paris! There weren't many left at the time, but I got a cinnamon swirl bun of some sort, which was absolutely divine. It wasn't overly sweet and super flaky. Because they were also about to close, the worker also gave us a few additional goodies to try. Definitely a win ;).

Yelp
For all of the croissants: Elegantly presented. Crispy and flaky outside. Light, airy, layered inside. Nice rise, so puffy. Filling is varied. 4.5 Plain: Not too sweet. Nice pull off the inside. Beautiful as croissant should be. Matcha green tea: Nice strong flavor of green tea but a bit pasty. Chocolate: I love it that it looked and felt more like a croissant than pain or bread. Beautifully decorated outside and flaky and crispy. The best I have had in SoCal of pain au chocolat (compared to Ludivine Paris and Pascal). The chocolate is harder than chocolate should be inside a pain au chocolat. That's the only negative. It hardened at the end of the day and felt more like a chocolate bar inside a croissant. Will try again when it's more fresh out of the oven. Almond: Beautiful and puffy for an almond croissant. This is unusual compared to most I have seen because the almond filling usually flattens the croissant. The look is amazing but the marzipan is pay and not good at all. How disappointing. Pascal Patisserie has better almond filling. Pitaschio orange blossom: amazing flavor and aroma of the filling. I can still smell the aroma minutes after tasting it. The shell is good but too hard at the edge. It was hard to cut it. The problem here is proportion. Too much filling makes it heavy and needing a harder shell. Recommendation is to make it smaller and maybe the proportion will be better so that the shell is less hard and this heavy treat justified to be eaten by one person when it's smaller. It's messy to eat and harder to share. Maracons we're free! Amazing flavor but to sweet.

Yelp
Favorite french pastry bakery. Case was sadly empty by the time we got there around 1pm. You can't go wrong with a regular croissant ($4). We also tried a Gjand... croissant which was chocolatey. The Italian Princess was all right (had mushrooms) - only maybe because I just really wanted a persian croissant (which was probably all sold out way before we arrived). With a $30 purchase we were given two complementary macarrons :) The St. Honore was nice and light. The little puffs do have a shell of sugar on top. Whipped cream was nice and light as well as pastry cream. All of this sits on a nice crunch of pastry puff. Also to note that they validate parking for 45 minutes- if you go past that it is $5 for another 30 minutes.

Yelp
It's a beautiful storefront great service. Beautiful pastries. It's great for those who love there but it won't be a return for me. I got a couple of things, i don't knew the names: a peach desert that was delicious and light. The brown one with the multiple balls around it was my fave. They were crunchy, caramelized and had a nice filling. Took me two days to eat, it was alot. I had the raisin roll which was inedible for me. The yellow raisins were sour. It's not a traditional raisins roll. I'd never repurchase that if it were the last food on earth. I got some square pastry that was dry. The packaging was gorgeous though

Yelp
This place gets it right every time. 2nd time ordering a cake, and my guests were impressed with the presentation. I was impressed with the packaging, and the. Cake was glued softly on the bottom of the box. The front of the box opens so that we can slide it out of the box without ruining the edges of the cake. Definite would order a cake from them again for special occasions It's a plus that the smell of coffee greets you while walking into the shop

Yelp
Literally the best French pastries with the most friendly staff! From flavors like Nutella to mango to passion fruit, there are so many pastries to choose from and all so rich and delicious! If you need to cater for a party, they'll give you mini pastries as long as you order in advance. I did this option twice already and the mini pastries were just amazing. Their croissants are fantabulous and their coffee and lattes are a match! Love this place.

Yelp
Just a wow. Unbelievable. This is the best you can get in LA. Even if you don't have a sweet tooth you'll fall in love with this place

Yelp
*insert endless heart eyes* I don't know how I became a pastry person, but here I am... Maybe that trip to Europe really did something to me lol. I used to work in this area and it took me being away from Sawtelle to yearn for the businesses! Artelice Patisserie has been around, but I just never got around to it because I never cared too much about pastries... But this weekend was DIFFERENT. I found parking in the small lot and I entered the bakery wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. I 'knew' I would get the regular croissant and pain au chocolat... But that was before I saw the Persian Princess. AHHHHHHH! Okay, so that was an automatic order, then I saw they had a matcha one... Game over. As I was about to check out, my eyes scanned the croissants and they had a ham & cheese one... That I regret not getting. However!!! The girls working were so sweet and gifted two macarons with my order! Naturally, I got the matcha and rose one. Ugh, DIVINE. My favorite of the two croissants was the matcha. The Persian Princess was pistachio and rose... Unfortunately, I couldn't really detect the rose despite the dried rose topping sprinkled on top :( The matcha croissant is elite!!! The white chocolate matcha in the middle was a nice subtle treat once you get to the center of the croissant. I loved that this was made with a matcha-infused dough... Ugh, I think I'm coming back this weekend!!!! (Maybe checking out the Burbank location?) With an addition of the ham & cheese croissant this time lol. Reminder to self: go to the gym so you can eat all the pastries you want, Kim!!!
