"Arthur Mac’s is the can-do-it-all pizza joint. They have large thin-crust pizzas, knockout wings, and soft serve. While there’s a tight takeout operation here, they also have a kid-friendly patio crowded with heat lamps, communal tables, and private booths. Oh, and there are arcade games in the back to fit with the retro-style theme. Come for family date night, a solo beer-and-slice fuel-up, or any time you need the Warriors and a pint and are OK with a pinball machine stepping in as babysitter." - julia chen 1, lani conway

"Located steps from MacArthur BART station, Arthur Mac’s is a counter-service spot featuring pizzas, hot wings (or hot cauliflower), and sweet potato tots. The glorious patio is the place to be, with one of the restaurant’s excellent beer selections, which are also available by the pitcher. Plus, it’s very dog- and kid-friendly." - Eater Staff
"The first thing to know about the Arthur Mac’s frozen pizzas is that they appear to be an entirely different style of pizza than the one the restaurant sells hot out of its brick oven — what comes in the vacuum-sealed bag is a thin-crusted, rectangular pie, as opposed to the thicker, crisp-bottomed, round variety it’s known for. Once baked off, per instructions, in a 450-degree oven, these pizzas eat a little like the kind of rustic, homemade pie you might make in the kitchen on your own. The combination of sauce, plentiful stretchy cheese, and slightly bready crust on the pepperoni pizza evoked childhood memories of Ellio’s, though not necessarily in a bad way: My two young kids both devoured several slices. Online, the only two topping options are cheese and pepperoni, but if you visit the North Oakland restaurant, there are usually a couple of more elaborate options." - Becky Duffett
"The beer garden’s full, pizza-and-wings-focused food menu is available for takeout and delivery via Caviar, with canned beer, wine, and cider available at a 20-percent discount." - Luke Tsai
