Hyde Park’s neighborhood standby is beloved for Burger Madness nights and straight-shooter patties on toasted buns. Frequently cited by local critics and readers’ polls, it’s where many Cincinnatians fell in love with a great no-gimmick burger.

They have some really good burgers and salads. We started with some Ceaser salad. The side portion was good enough for one. We tried the boursin and the veggie burger. It is nice that they make the veggie patty in house. It had a good amount of spice and flavors. The burger patties were thick and cooked to perfection. Their patio seating is also a very nice cute space. The only issue I had was there was no one at the host stand and we waited awkwardly for a good 10 mins before someone came to help us. It wasn't even that busy. The bar tender saw us when we walked in and multiple servers saw us too. It would be a better experience if they were more welcoming.

Google
Great food, and lots of it. Not the place if you're looking for refined and elegant. Exactly the place if you want to spend time with friends, comfortable, wrapping yourself around burgers, fries, and deep-fried mozzarella sticks. Nothing pre-made or frozen here - this is the real deal. Recommended.

Google
First of all, had the best service from Kristen. Super efficient table management and multitasking that I rarely see in restaurants these days. Mahi mahi tacos were fresh, expertly seared, and served with sweet potato fries that were crispy and not overcooked. Four dollar margaritas seemed too good to be true, but were absolutely delicious and not (as I expected) weak or watered down. Will be back!

If you're a fan of old-school burgers with a straightforward, classic style, Arthur's is a must-visit. This place has that nostalgic, no-frills burger feel with simple toppings and a great classic combination—and it delivers on quality. The burger was cooked to perfection, and the meat quality was outstanding. Fries were just as traditional, which fit perfectly with the vibe. The service was impressively quick, and for the quality you’re getting, it's also incredibly affordable. If you're into all those fancy, "new-school" burgers with trendy toppings, Arthur’s might not be what you're looking for. But for those who appreciate a well-made, simple burger, this place definitely stands out. I came here on a recommendation, and after trying it, I agree—this is easily one of the top 5 burgers in Cincinnati!

Google
Mostly good, a little bad in this review. The atmosphere is very cool with lots of interesting art and bar mirrors. The fried cheese was AMAZING and the burgers were great too! The egg on the Breakfast Burger was cooked perfectly. I also really appreciate that they have the option to get the “Sally” burger, just a smaller size patty on any specialty burger. Now for the bad… our server (lady with long blonde hair in a scrunchie) was very friendly at first. We mentioned that it was our first time there and asked what apps would she recommend? She just said the fried cheese so we said we’ll take it. When we got the cheese and were eating, she sounded shocked when came and saw we were taking more than one stick each (6 sticks in the order). When a he took our orders, she was really short. Got the burgers, ate, but as we were eating our fries (only finished the burgers, nothing else on the plate) she said “are we done?” and reached to take our plates. When we said not yet she just took our silverware and walked off. She did not say anything else for the rest of the visit, just dropped off the check and then again after running our card. We felt very rushed by her from getting our burgers thru the end of our visit. Not really sure what happened to illicit that response. All in all, great food and great atmosphere, but interesting service… I’d come here again and hope for a different server.

Google
What a great place. Burgers were unbelievably delicious. Serves was awesome and quick. It was a packed house on a Friday night and they got us seated in 20 minutes. The fries are perfection itself, best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

Google
The waitress wasn't my favorite of all time but maybe she was stressed. She was the only one I saw working. My burger had pink in it even though I requested well done. Fries were good, no complaints there. Carrot cake was very good! I don't plan on returning here.

Google
Very nice atmosphere here. The food has a very authentic homemade taste. I personally didn't like the fried cheese, but if you love cheese, I dint know that you can come here and not get them. I got the Arthur butter with fried onions and fries. The burger came out convered in grilled onions. That was a bonus because I love the flavor they add. I didn't realize how much an 8 oz really was. This sandwich fills you up. It's worth every cent. I took a cup of chili home and ate later. It too had the homemade taste. I would recommend it to any chili lovers.

Yelp
Arthur's is such a solid spot. It feels like your go-to neighborhood place but with better food and drinks than you'd expect. The burgers are awesome--mine was cooked just right and loaded up with all the good stuff. Onion rings were crispy and hit the spot. The best part though? The cocktail I got. I wasn't expecting it to be that good, but they've got some elevated drinks on the menu. I had one with gin and cucumber that tasted super fresh and clean, like something you'd get at a fancy bar, but in a chill setting. Easy place to hang with friends, eat something great, and sip something better. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Chill atmosphere with welcoming staff. It wasn't busy when I went there so it didn't take long to get my food. I really liked the burger special offered for Tuesdays and Sundays. Although my favorite thing was the Mango Bubbles drink that was offered on tap.

Yelp
Came here after a recent round of golf in the area and was jonesing for a hefty burger...and that's just what I got! Vibe inside is a bit divey, but old-school and looked exactly like a spot that would have killer burgers. I ordered mine medium rare with American cheese, grilled onions and pickles. The burger arrived just as I'd asked and was super-juicy and delicious. Their fries are fresh cut...could have been cooked a few more minutes (I like 'em more crispy) but that is a minor problem. Overall, would definitely return, and I also want to try their fried deviled eggs. Next time!

Yelp
Sundays and Mondays are "Burger Madness"! Stopped in on a Sunday, had a spectacular burger ($12.99 includes any burger, up to 5 toppings, and fries). It was busy as usual, but seating was prompt. I opted for the up charge to get their onion rings (long time fave). Of note: the tartar sauce and Arthur sauce is made in house and very tasty!!!). Always friendly, appropriate for any gathering, suitable for families with children, and has a comfy vibe! (Forgot pics of food, but I'll get some next time!)

Yelp
Enjoyed this hole in the wall before a college basketball game. Were in and out relatively quickly on a Friday evening without a reservation which is nice. Waitress was friendly and paid attention to detail. Burgers were great and the potato soup wasn't what we were expecting in a good way. Very thick and tasty. Overall good experience, would recommend.
google avatar

Alvaro F.

Yelp
Burger was juicy and tasty. Buffalo bites are also delicious, crispy on the outside while juicy inside. Will be ordering again!
google avatar

Allison M.

Yelp
Service is always great, decor and woodwork is original to building. Everything homemade down to the ranch and ketchup. Everything is delicious. They are well known for their chili.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite places for a burger in Cincinnati. The Hyde Park location is awesome, with a very cool covered back patio for dining. This time I got the breakfast burger and it was great. I've never had a bad burger here. The fries were cold, which was disappointing, but other than that I enjoyed it.

Bob R.

Yelp
Had the fish & chips last week. On the menu it claims "Cincinnati s best". Might be the worst. Looked like frozen piece of fish. Tartar was pure mayo. Will never order this again!!!

Jill O.

Yelp
Great burgers. Maybe update the tavern. Good service. Always a go to...................
google avatar

Pamela A.

Yelp
Amazing food! Amazing service! The turkey burger is my favorite item here. I haven't eaten outside yet but the atmosphere is pleasant. Parking could be better but it's honestly worth driving around for a spot.
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
Glad to come back again to Arthur's and get to experience the outdoor seating in the back, it's beautiful! There's a lower level and upper area in the back with plenty of foliage and fans to keep the air moving. Will definitely choose to eat outside any time I get the option! My mom had the original burger and loved it, you definitely get a thick chunk of meat ("that was a lot of burger!"). I tried the fried chicken salad, and with these types of salads I don't think you can go wrong or mess it up, so I loved it nonetheless and there was adequate chicken to salad ratio :). Our waitress was friendly and kept our waters full!
google avatar

Damian T.

Yelp
Atmosphere---excellent! Staff---just super helpful a joy to be around. The burger was amazing...I got the Buckaroo with onion rings! The flavor was spot on, the onion rings were stellar. The attention to empty glasses was so good! And the history of the place, the art on the walls...this is a great place and I will be back to try the other items on the menu!
google avatar

Eileen B.

Yelp
We had a girls lunch here and it was perfect. Arthur's is known for their hamburgers so I ordered the luau burger which has pepper jack cheese and pineapple salsa. So yummy except I asked for medium well and it was very pink. Other friends got chicken salad and wings. Their Bloody Mary's are very good along with a baby beer. I will come back to this well known Hyde Park gem
google avatar

Vince P.

Yelp
Good nachos and always a great draft beer selection . Be sure and try the Bob, Bop and Bill's pils on draft..
google avatar

Emma S.

Yelp
Have been here multiple times and they never disappoint! Cute seating inside and outside -- in the summer, outside has cute greenery which is always a plus. Tried the Buffalo chicken bites and they were delicious; served with ranch...they have good ranch. The Buckaroo burger was AMAZING! Smothered with BBQ sauce and served with crispy fries. The Boursin burger was also delicious. Happy hour until 6pm, we missed it but will have to come back again for discounted drinks from the bar.
google avatar

Joseph H.

Yelp
The outdoor dinning area was incredible and worth a visit. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The Hyde Parker was tasty but slightly overcooked from the medium well I ordered.
google avatar

Aesha E.

Yelp
Place wasn't bad. Took me a minute to figure out where to enter, but the staff was really helpful when I did make it in. And bonus points to the woman at the bar for pronouncing my name correctly, because literally no one does without me telling them how it's pronounced--I only wish I'd gotten her name so that I could have sent her manager a note to let her know! We got some potato skins, a sandwich, and a burger. All was pretty good. The potato skins were humongous and packed with stuff. All in all, not disappointed we tried it and I'd come back again, perhaps to eat in next time.
google avatar

Kiandra J.

Yelp
I love the black bean burger paired with sweet potato fries. Chefs kiss! It's a convenient location with parking in the rear lot.

Barb M.

Yelp
How could you get rid of the best chicken nachos!!! I am so sad. I have been coming there for 35 years for the nachos. Will not go back

Yelp
I don't eat at Arthur's often, but every time I do, it is fantastic! I have never had a bad experience or a bad meal at Arthur's. The service is always great. The food is reasonably priced compared to big chain restaurants like Applebees, Longhorn, Fridays, etc. I can't eat them anymore but I LOVED their mozzarella sticks. So stinking delicious. I haven't been since I started being gluten free, but I loved their fried chicken salad. Their croutons must've homemade- they're giant and delicious. I need to examine their menu to see what I can have. I'm non-Celiac gluten sensitive, so I'm not as worried about cross-contamination. But I've always loved Arthur's. I also love to support smaller, local businesses.

Yelp
Arthur's is a pub/cafe rich in historic character but with elevated food and local beer choices. In short summary, the food and beer are very good, the establishment itself has three areas for seating, including outside, and it is full of village charm. Parking is generally plentiful in the area, but they don't have a dedicated lot. I have gone to Arthur's since I moved to Cincinnati in the early 90's. It has always been a great place to have a burger or sandwich or other nice menu choice. Although Hyde Park, the neighborhood in which it is nestled, is having a bit of a housing Renaissance, Arthur's holds to it's old school charm. One point of uniqueness is a full wall mural with many years of Cincinnati personalities painted akin to a caricature you would get at an amusement park. It has always been there and it's like getting a hug from an old friend every time I walk through the front door. On this day we dropped by for lunch. I had the Salmon BLT. My wife has the Spicy Black Bean burger. Both were fantastic. For not being on a coast, the Salmon was cooked perfectly and the bacon was as ordered, extra crispy. From a facilities standpoint, it is full of stained hardwood, stained glass, and bespecled ceramic floors. The bathrooms are functional but fall in line with old school bar "character". If you are in the mood for great food with a touch of old bar feel, you should give this place a try.

Yelp
Went here for Sunday dinner after a show at Playhouse in the Park. Parking was easy, and free on Sunday. OK, we were an early six top, three generations, 2,2, and 2. We were immediately seated and our server was right there. She set us up with waters and two Bloody Marys and two beers, something light for the grandkids, too. The adults went for the hamburger deal with fries, and the kids were happy with the burger deal for kids. The food came out hot, burgers spot on Medium and the fries were hot and well done. What could a hungry bunch of theatre goers ask for? Our server stopped back to check in a few times but not over imposing. The ambiance of Arthurs was good, too. We liked the wood bar and the old school tiled floor. My wife and I were first timers but my son and his wife were regulars enough to know that we would enjoy the visit. We're always ready to go back to a place with good Bloody Mary's, cold beers, and good food. We'll see you next time. Thanks for being on top of the details.

Yelp
Burger madness!!! On Sunday or Tuesday you can add up to six of the .50 or $1 items to your burger for free, total cost only $11.99 (normally cost of regular plain burger is $12). Burger is a full half pound, made in house, juicy and flavorful. I added bbq sauce, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, swiss and cheddar cheeses to mine. Also comes with a side of hot, fresh skin on fries. Such a great deal and hands-down one of the best burgers I've had in a while! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, locally owned!
google avatar

CarolAnn G.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! And Great ambiance! Good menu selections- I got the fish tacos and my husband got the burger. We also ended up ordering food to go for our son and his friends - 5 burger and fries. All cooked to perfection and when we delivered them, everything was packaged very well - and it was all still hot. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jisoo B.

Yelp
People told me this was the best burger place in Cincinnati. But to me, it just tasted like a normal handmade burger! The service was great, though. I just told our server that my friend and I will be sharing a burger, and they split the burger in half (as shown in the picture) AND gave both of us a full french fries! It was so wonderful. Decent/good burger with great service!
google avatar

Jed R.

Yelp
This is one of my cincinnati favorites. My friend showed me this place when we were talking about spots to eat. He recommended a double burger (tbh forgot the name by now) but it was basically a double decker bacon cheeseburger. Bomb. Made me feel like complete dookie right after, that's how you know it hit. Check it out, slam the burger, grab a beer, then take a nap.

Yelp
Love Arthur's. My dad is from Cincinnati and was a regular at Arthur's back in the day, so we always make it a stop during our trips here so we can have some good food and see his picture on the wall! This time I had the Boursin burger (my dad's old go-to!) and it was delicious! Seriously, just a great burger. We also had the mozzarella sticks which are recommended for a reason. Amazing!! The service was great as well and I love the mural on the wall. So fun and an extra cute addition for the inside of the restaurant!
google avatar

Mindy H.

Yelp
Great burger place! The burger bun is gluten free. Build your own option or themed burgers. The fried cheese, fries, and sweet tea are also really good. Sandwiches and salads are available as well. Located right off of Hyde Park Square.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for burgers in the Cincinnati area. Make sure to go on Sundays, Mondays, or Tuesdays to take advantage of their burger madness special when you can choose an unlimited # of toppings (excluding gourmet toppings and a limit of 6 slices of cheese -- I'm curious about the story behind what prompted this limit) for any burger. The burgers are served with fries. I've tried their regular fries as well as their sweet potato fries -- both are delicious. I did have one incident when I felt that my fries were stale and cold, but my waitress happily brought out fresh fries for me. Other than that one incident, I have always enjoyed my burger and fries. Comfortable seating + great service.

Catherine R.

Yelp
Delicious! Love the back patio with the brick walls and plants. Service is good. Always busy.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
Fantastic Burger, Great Buffalo Chicken Bites, and excellent service. The restaurant was small and intimate.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Kind of old school restaurant / bar in a nice area. Love the town.... But food was just OK. Burger was dry and fries were cold. Waitress did have fries replaced which were hot and very good.
google avatar

Jessica Y.

Yelp
Stopped for dinner when arriving in town for a night. We sat outside which was fine but the tables were a bit cramped for 3-4 people and was were in a small corner by the service area though tables were readily available. Our server was great. They had a good draft selection and our food was 8. We started with the deep fried cheese which was definitely s favorite and a must have. Burgers were good and done correctly. Cajun fries had a good kick to them and the sweet potato fries were the standard. The Mexican chicken salad was a good size as well and packed a ton of flavor. I'd go back, especially for a happy hour or time out with friends. Definitely casual and fun place.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Wow. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers to go..ended up with 2 hamburgers, 1 with a "bite" out of it. Onions, lettuce & tomato were minimal. Sent a message on fb, no response. Called & all the manager said was" I can assure you, no bite was taken." See pic.
google avatar

Liezelle L.

Yelp
I came to Arthur's because it's one of my friends' favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint! It's homey and it was very easy to find street parking on a Sunday night. Make sure you take advantage of their special - "Burger Madness" on Tuesdays and Sundays where you can order as many non-premium toppings as you like without extra charge. Service was great as well - the wait staff was very attentive when it came to refills and clearing plates. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Angela E.

Yelp
A wonderful staple in Hyde park. I came for the burger but got sucked in by the lent menu and tried the fish and chips. I asked for both to be crispy and they delivered! Delicious

Yelp
I was in Cincinnati with friends for the Hyde Park Blast at the end of June. We wanted to get a bite to eat before we started using our drink tickets. There were food trucks at the event, but we wanted to sit down. Also, since it was hot out, we were looking for a place with AC! Our one friend recommended Arthur's and said it was a favorite of his. When I heard they had burgers and fries, I was sold! That is by far my favorite meal! This place was definitely busy on a Saturday night. So busy in fact, that we had to opt to sit outside on the back patio because the wait for inside was too long. We were lead to the back patio which was fenced in and had cute tables with ivy growing around. It definitely had character but the tables were small! We had five people and I'm still surprised we all fit on there (I did spill my boyfriend's water at one point. Oops!). I of course opted for the burger and fries. Overall, it was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. This place reminds me a lot of Thurman's in Columbus (where I live). I feel like the beef patties are very thick and not really seasoned that well. The fries were pretty good. Also it needs to be called out that the bathroom situation here on a busy Saturday night is far from ideal. It's very tiny and there are only two stalls. So picture 5 women crunched in a tiny area and one of them getting hit every time the door opens. I have a strong opinion that all restaurants should have a three stall minimum and this place is no exception! Overall, definitely a solid 3 ("A-ok" by Yelp standards). I would go back and try it again, but it might not be my first option.

Nikki D.

Yelp
First time here! From the moment we walked in. Arleen is the Best, most welcoming host ever. outlet waitress Shawnee was a doll. The food was above what we expected! we found our new favorite place and it's right down the road. ANDERSON ARTHUR's way to go!!!!
google avatar

Val T.

Yelp
We love Arthur's. Fabulous patio that feels like a hidden garden courtyard (you'd never know there's a parking lot just beyond the walls), fast friendly service, and reliably good food. In twenty years I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. The burgers, the reuben, the fish sandwich, the fries -- they're all good. The onion rings have changed recently. If you weren't a huge fan before (they were tasty, but the breading was on the thick side, which meant in order to get them nice and crispy you had to order them well-done) but the new recipe fixes that: thin, crispy-crackling breading that is really, really good. A definite improvement.

Yelp
The food was amazing For a chilly day, their chicken tenders and fries were so good and warm! The cajun fries are better than regular so i'm definitely getting those next time. It's a cute little spot in hyde park and the staff was super sweet.

Yelp
In any Midwest city, you will find that the position of "Best Burger Joint" is hotly contended, and often a subject of bar fights and messy breakups. Nonetheless, I will tell you that Arthur's is the Best Burger Joint in Cincinnati. Their signature is the boursin burger. They pile garlic and herb cheese on the patty, causing it to liquify and melt into the meat. The patties themselves are generous, and yes, you can actually specify medium, and it will be pink and juicy inside. The fries are crispy, hot and satisfying. I hear they've got sweet potato fries which are pretty good, but seeing as I have a soul I tend to avoid those. If you're quiet about it, you can ask the server for a side of whatever aioli they've got today. Oh, and their house lager is $3, and it's half-off that on Wednesdays. You're welcome. So yes, I'll say it again. Arthur's has the best burger in Cincinnati. And now I have another reason to never leave my home. If you don't hear from me again, know this: It was the Zip's fans.
google avatar

Dani H.

Yelp
Arthur's is my favorite burger joint in Cincy!! I have been going to Arthur's since I was a child growing up in Hyde Park. I always looked forward to Burger Madness and loading my perfectly cooked, medium rare burger with toppings and different types of cheese. I love not only their burgers, but also their chili! It's always warm and delicious, served with cheese and crackers on top. I recently tried to loaded potato skins which were to die for! Arthur's is the perfect place to take your family on a Sunday or to watch the game on a Saturday night. Their food is amazing, the employees are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere gives off the best vibes!

Howard G.

Yelp
Food is good not great Service is ok Property is run down Needs overhaul fairly clean But that's about it

Patrick L.

Yelp
I should've known it was going to be a bad experience when i walked by the cook smoking a joking in the back of the restaurant. Waited over an hour for our food. Burgers tasted like a frozen Kroger burger. Will not be back.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
We were in town for Xavier graduation this weekend and looking for a place on Mother's Day that was good and not crazy busy. We gave Arthur's a try. I had the burger madness Sunday special and did a turkey burger with all the fixings, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions and horseradish Mayo. With a side a of pasta salad. Overall a good meal for the price. Seems like a local favorite and very cool mural on the wall with caricatures of regulars from the early days of the restaurant. Service was great and very friendly.
google avatar

Ken F.

Yelp
Always great service and the food is outstanding. This is where the cool people come in Cincinnati
google avatar

Joana M.

Yelp
It was while living here in Cincy for a few months that I realized how much of a "SoCal foodie" I really am. It was hard to find a restaurant that was a solid 4 stars (at least to my standards), but Arthur's finally earned that title a few weeks before I moved to another state. I went with some friends and we all liked it. I got the Breakfast Burger w/ Sweet Potato Fries and it was hashtag so yummy. Wish I would have discovered this gem of a place sooner. P.S. Our waitress was very hospitable and attentive, which we loved.

Ashley H.

Yelp
If you are looking for a cozy homey environment with delicious burgers this is the spot for you! Staff is friendly and provides quick service with food that is amazing!
